I'm waiting for my phone to charge then dragging myself out the door to go running. I haven't been for days!! Im new to running, I hope its not always so difficult to drag myself out the door. Reading other people write about their exercise on here and on MFP helps though.

Just spent $40 dollars on fruit vegetables and some yogurt. I have been eating raw for 10 days and starting tomorrow am going to begin a green smoothie 'diet'. Or cleanse, feel so good right now and want to keep it coming anyway I can. Plus I love, love, love, smoothies. Down 7 pounds from when I began. Also signed up at the local gym and been going on the elliptical for at least 45 minutes a day. Feel pretty good about myself (especially in the morning haha), thanks for all the inspiration ladies!

Down a few pounds from my first post... not sure about inches yet but I'll be sure and mention that in the morning.
Spent a good bit of time today working out indoors because it was too hot to be outside... it was hilarious and dumb... but I was watching Keeping up with the Kardashians... so I was at least entertained. Lmao.

Im not really trying to lose any weight but just be healthier in general. I recently started pilates reformer and it is by far the hardest workout I have ever done. I'll let you know how I go with results but after just one class Im shocked. I've gone to gym since I was 16 and mainly do weights and classes ie. step, high impact aerobics, pump, cycle, etc. Ive done mat pilates and reformer is at least 10x harder! I was shaking like a leaf the entire class! hectic.

I'll join in!
I want to drop about 10-15 pounds & really tone up my upper body/abs. I have started doing pilates in conjunction with 20-40 minutes of cardio, 4-5 days per week. As far as diet goes: cutting out fried/processed foods, limiting sugar intake tremendously, and just eating healthier (including more veggies/fruits in diet, portion control, etc). My sugar addiction is tough to kick to the curb, but I'm going to stand strong!

I haven't worked out in a few weeks. Summer school has begun and taking a foreign language during a 5 week frame is more than stressful. I study sometime 10+ hours a day.
Food:
coffee
tomato basil soup
apple
Workout:
^^^ Yay!!!!!
I am down around 5 lbs, need to update my ticker! Eating SUPER clean, nothing but Primal Blueprint diet foods.
lately I've had a meatloaf fetish. Been throwing ground meat with random ingredients together and baking it. Tonight I had 1/2 lb. buffalo and 1/2 lb. organic 90% lean ground beef with mushrooms, two organic eggs, a chopped vidalia onion, salt, pepper, chopped garlic clove, formed into a loaf and glazed with organic ketchup, baked for an hour and a half at 350 degrees. That was just dinner though....
For breakfast, two scrambled eggs with a diced organic tomato. For lunch, half a head of organic romaine chopped with organic non dairy/non soy gluten free caesar dressing, a grilled chicken breast, and some quartered artichoke hearts. Had a protein shake (Dymatize whey isolate) for a snack, needed to get my chocolate fix. 3 liters of water today as well....
Skipped the workout because I am STILL sore from a pushing myself too hard on Saturday.... back at it tomorrow though! Changed it up a little, running four miles per day, cut back on the weights, integrated Pilates and Yoga (for the first time in my life!)

Im new to SW as of today but Ive been lurking about a week. Trust me youll learn my username as I cant get enough of this site! I am not yet comfortable in my body and NEED to lose this weight I put on the past year....I am a size 10/12 in most jeans and am 5'6"...I weigh 170 OMG so hard to admit that lol. Most people guess 150 though. The smallest I have ever been in my adult body was my first year of college, 135 lbs. And I thought I was fat.
So my goal is to AT LEAST get back to that weight, meaning a whopping 35 pounds needs to get gone. I have pilates as a gym credit for college, and that starts this fall. Anyone else take pilates and has it helped with weight loss? I also have a gym membership and am slowly progressing to working out 5 times a week.

^ mat pilates is not the best for weight loss. It's great for core training and muscle tone but if you have fat over top you won't visibly see results. You will feel stronger though. You definitely need a cardio component and a good diet to see actual weight loss. There's tons of info in body business to get you started. Also JD, Will, and AngelKing are a few members who know quite a bit about fitness and health. I suppose I do too if you ever have any questions :-)

^^^I like pilates it really helps my back. You might not find it too challenging though seeing as how you're so used to lifting heavy. Weights probably provide you with way more resistance than pilates ever will. You should just switch to extreme body weight exercises, stuff like one-armed push ups and pistols....
Also, make sure you are consuming your body weight in grams of protein EVERY day. So, if you weight 250 lbs, you need to be eating at LEAST 250 grams of protein each day, in order to maintain muscle and burn off the body fat.
You're supposed to match your lean body mass per gram of protein, not your actual total body weight.
........
I'm officially joining this thread today!! So far I had a big cup of coffee with creamer, gonna go grocery shopping in a bit. I'd like to lose 25lbs. ;D

Yeah those are my boobs. 25lbs may seem like a lot but I'm pretty skinny fat. I carry mOst of it in my saddlebags and cankles lol! Also I'm 5'10" so an extra 25lbs on me doesn't look like how an extra 25lbs would look on someone who's say 5'4".
I picked up some non dairy coconut creamer at the store, it's lower in calories and a little lower in sugar too! ;D
You will love that coconut creamer! I am now buying the unsweetened coconut milk and using that to mix with protein shakes/gluten free cereal, etc.....
I had leftover meatloaf and handful of raspberries for breakfast with black coffee and 1 liter of water. Just did a mini workout and had a protein shake with coconut milk and another liter of water. Probably more leftover meatloaf and boiled cabbage for dinner.

Reformer pilates is weighted. There's springs attached to the board and there's 5 different levels of resistance. It's on a machiene and it's a million times harder than mat pilates. I've been doing weights 3-5 times a week for 13 years... This is just as hard if not harder because there are way more reps and they are way slower.
I did a mat Pilates class last week, and the instructor was sooo excited that I was brand new, she said Pilates is an amazing complement to frequent weight workouts, they go well together, alternating them. These reformer Pilates look really challenging though, so I'm excited! The yoga class didn't challenge my body too much, but mannnnnn I really need to stretch more often. I didn't realize that you need to stretch frequently when doing heavy weight workouts or else your muscles get "lumpy" instead of long and lean. This is what the instructor told me at least.... plus it felt sooo good to stretch my quads and hamstrings, my legs are tingling and going numb, I REALLY needed to release whatever acids/hormones/chemicals were built up in my muscle fibers, I could tell a huge difference after intense stretching with a band for 20 minutes.
Today (and last night for dinner) I had an imitation crab meat omelette. I know it's not the most holistic thing to put into my body, but I get bored with the same meats and vegetables over and over, and the imitation crabmeat was on sale at Kroger 2 for $5. I used three organic eggs last night (I ALWAYS buy organic eggs, I don't skimp on this one) and I used two this morning, with a handful of imitation crab meat and some salt and pepper. Not bad! Weird, but actually tastes good! High protein, high fat soluble vitamins, high omegas! Not to mention, the crabmeat also has about 14 carbs per serving, so this is great for a breakfast meal. I don't feel like I get enough carbs sometimes!

Yesterday I ate a shit ton of food lol But it was all pretty good stuff anyways. I had 4 oz of turkey breast with cracked black pepper and a side of roasted red potatoes for lunch. It was super easy to make, just put a bit of cooking spray into a pan, toss in the floured turkey breast and sear for 2 minutes each side on medium heat, then add a half cup of chicken broth, cover, and let simmer on low heat for 5 minutes. Turkey breast is a great thing to have in the fridge, its 99% fat free and super satisfying. For dinner I still wasnt too hungry but Ive been doing muscle building exercises (still have jelly thighs) and wanted more protein, so I had a plain turkey sandwich on rye with just lettuce. Im a girl of simple tastes lol.

the longer you go without having sugar the easier it is. I can go months without having any large amount of sugar (no soda, no chocolate, no juice, no cookies etc) other than natural sugars. However, if I have a chocolate bar, I will crave sugar until I cut it out again.
making smart choices isn't hard. Sticking to them just takes determination and willpower. Want to look hot and be in shape or want to keep pounding back soda / juice / putting shit into your body that has no real reason to be there.

I started using some of the tips from that 'diet/lifestyle' thing you posted in the weight loss group. I'm seeing changes. I'm incorporating beans, lentils, etc into my diet more, and REALLY seeing changes. Also, I'm not craving sugar as much (although I still have dried cranberries, bananas, etc occasionally). Just making small adjustments as I go along. So thank you for posting that link!!!;D

I'm more than happy to post advice / field questions about dieting / taking care of your body. The only reason why I don't start a thread is because I am not a dietician and don't have any specific qualifications. However, my boyfriend and I watch what we eat and are very conscious of our bodies. I have just started working out at the gym (instead of just at home with my pole) and he has lost something like 40 pounds in 6 or 7 months by watching his diet and working out on a regular basis.
when people are posting what they eat it's always hard for me to not quote and be like "do you think that writing down what you eat is all it takes to lose weight / get healthy??"

No but it helps when people like you who have accomplished and continue to maintain their goal weights can provide a bit of feedback specifically tailored to the individual listing their habits. Thanks everyone for the encouragement about the stupid caffeine! I got used to drinking soda again after my mom always bought it when I was at her house for a month. Um perhaps because diet is a HUUUUGE part of 'losing weight' and 'getting healthy' and chronicling dietary improvements can be highly motivating?? If you disapprove so much of threads like this you shouldn't be in them. ::)

Yeah, I sort of feel the same way.
I'm not specifically speaking of stripperweb here, but: I think a lot of people THINK they eat healthier than they do... and that's why they just record what they eat each day. Sort of a "I think I'm tracking my good work" thing... without asking for advice/asking what they should change.

::) yourself. I never said anything about disapproving threads like this in fact, I even offered to help people if they WANT help with their diet. I guess what you missed in my post is that most of the people who are posting their logs are still eating very unhealthily and posting what they eat and still eating crap isn't going to help them shed pounds.
Posting what you eat isn't asking for help and it doesn't make the pounds come off, either. Yes, it might be motivational to see people changing their eating habits but it is also really ::) to see people posting things like "food I have eaten today: coffee with two spoons of whipped cream, burrito for lunch, bag of low fat pretzels for snack, yoghurt for another snack, pasta with low fat cream sauce and a scoop of low fat ice cream for desert. Oh yeah! Only two diet cokes all day!"
absolutely NOTHING is good in that whole post (it is an exaggeration but not far off from some of the things that I have seen in this thread) and I don't really understand why I should be supportive of it or be considered rude and not welcome in the thread to say so.

I am more than happy to do so if someone wants. In my experience, throwing random advice out there isn't always appreciated so here's my bit.
I'm epileptic and went on a low glucose diet to maintain my neurological health. However, it had extreme benefits for me in other areas of my life (weight and health). I recommend it to everyone but it IS a lifestyle change. I have to go at the moment but will write more about it later if people are curious / interested.

The low-glucose diet stuff really worked out well for me. I don't follow it 100%, but I've incorporated more of those foods into my meals (and less sugars) and I'm seeing a difference bloat-wise and skin wise. It's a nice change! ;D

I get what you're saying. It takes more than just writing down what you eat to lose weight. Even if you're making small changes in your diet, just writing down that you had "Spaghetti Carbonaera and 4 Cookies" or something doesn't mean it will contiain less calories/fats/etc. It's good for keep yourself accountable, but it's only the first, most basic, step. Other things have to go with it.
I've had one bottle of Diet Soda (not a 2L, the small 1-serving size bottles) all week. I'm really proud of myself for that. I used to drink a 2L (big bottle) in a day!!! :D

Daymmm girl a 2L a day? Im not that bad! lol :P Posting what and how much I eat just helps me feel accountable, I am not gonna lie on this site because I want advice custom to me. Why lie when I dont know yall? So being aware that I have to go and respond to people following this thread about what I ate only inspires me to do better.
I too think its silly when girls eat tiny portions crap all day and never exercise and complain theyre not losing any weight, or they feel weak when they do try to exercise. Eat proper serving sizes of healthy foods at decent times throughout the day, and maintain an exercise schedule, and you will lose weight!! The only thing that is hard about losing weight is discipline, and that is where I struggle, especially with the stupid gym. I hate the way my lungs and chest hurt during cardio, I hate waking up in the morning and feeling stiff from yesterday, but Ill be damned if Im going to sit around fat and unhappy during my youth any longer. I will accept looking nothing less than GORGEOUS!! ;D
Now its off to the dreaded gym!!!!! At 9 at night!! lol
