Ffs, I usually nip to the sink in the dressing room to switch champagne with apple juice and water. I did that with a whole bottle of veuve clicquot last night, which I like, then got stuck at a table of wine and club regulars so I couldn't excuse myself. I drank nearly a bottle of wine, then got stuck into the pizza my boss bought us. Goddammit. I allow myself extra booze calories, but I went overboard last night. It didn't help that it was a sit and drink night, with not much dancing.

You dumped a bottle of veuve? Nooooo! Why do you switch it with apple juice? I assume there's the same if not more calories and sugar in the apple juice? Although I can see how being sober stops the junk food binges.

It's all about staying sober, and finishing the bottle quickly so he'll buy another. To get the right colour we mix just a little bit of apple juice with lots of water.
It feels very wrong to pour something away that they pay a fortune for because I asked for it, but I have to do it.
Last night it was Cristal. I couldn't make myself pour it away. Too expensive.

^Aw, yay congrats!

I ran 4 miles this morning, and my spine isn't too happy with me. In a world of hurt, obviously I wasn't watching myself carefully enough because I managed to fuck something up. Ughh...

In GOOD news: I look a lot better naked than I did 2 months ago. Hurrah!

Would you post it when you're finished researching? I'm curious about what it'll look like. Sorry if that's a taboo thing to ask, I don't know if it's kosher to ask someone for their specific diet plan for free online, but I'm super curious. :)

Weeeeeeeeee I just weighed myself and I'm way less than I thought. I'm no skinnier, but for some reason it makes me happy.

lol, that's how I feel.
I'm down to 130, but I don't feel like I look any skinnier or toned.

I gotta stop drinking beer at work...then maybe I'll see a difference. :-\

Kkk I'm back on track for real now! I'm a little heavier than my ideal. I need to lose about 7lbs or 3kg. I'm not going to go crazy with my eating plan but just try and cut back where possible and avoid junk. I really dont think I can give up alcohol but I can certainly give up the crap I eat after drinking it. I'll cut back on the drinks tho. I'm really gonna get back to hitting the gym. I'm giving myself to Melbourne cup day nov 1... to be looking damn sexy. I'll take some before and afters too. That's always motivating. I think I'll also keep a diet and workout diary... Helps to see it in B&W.

Woo just spotted this! Last monday I decided to start being healthy and getting fit. I joined the gym and have been every day since, apart from Thursday. Here's what I've been doing so far:

set goals - Lose 2 dress sizes (UK size 12 atm 9st 11lb, want to be a size 8. I know some of this weight is my implants though ;D
tell us what you eat (share healthy recipes) - Special k cornflakes with natural yoghurt for breakfast, smoothie or health shake for lunch, vegetables and brown rice or salad for dinner, fruit and nuts for snacks.
tell us about your workouts - I've been doing a class 5 x per week, zumba, legs/bums/tums, and spin. A 30 min session on the treadmill 10 of which is split between warm up/ cool down, the rest running/ walking in intervals. Then a 20 min swim afterwards. I also ride my horse a few times per week.

After hearing about the macronutrient diet and bodysculpting though, I am trying to switch it up and focus more on creating the body shape i want. This is all new to me though so I am glad to be part of this thread :D Good luck ladies!!

^I'm built the same way.

I can be 145 lbs with sickly looking clavicles and bony arms, but still have saddlebag fat. When I lose it always pulls away from my upper body until the very end.

^^^Are you training your upper body with weights?

Yes but it's not gonna stop all the bones from sticking out in my chest and shoulders.

I have the same body shape... its like two different people. When I was in my early twenties I went the route of trying to bulk up the top instead of slim down the whole figure. I gained about 10lbs and I got pretty huge biceps and even got that pec line... but I looked like a friggin man! Id rather be skeleton on top and a little disproportionately muscular on the bottom. I still train my arms with weights, but not for the purpose of actually bulking up.

Holy crap! As I was sipping my latte I was filling in my food diary (which I started today) and realised my coffee had 700 calories in it! WTF!!! needless to say I dumped 75% of it down the drain. So glad I read that before I drank the whole thing. I really don't think I can give up caffeine right now with the semester in full tilt. Anyone have any coffee alternatives? I really can't drink black coffee - yuck! I really only need 1 caffeine it in the morning and maybe one twice a week before I work.

But I don't think they're very low calorie...

I just occasionally have a diet coke. Can you drink Coffee with low-cal, non-dairy powdered creamer and some splenda/stevia?

Switching to skim/soy milk cuts way down on the calories.
So does cutting out the flavored syrups/switching to sugar free.

A small latte, for example can have like 1/3rd the calories of other drinks, easily.

I threw one of my running shoes out when I was cleaning my apt the other day (by accident!) so I bought a new pair that is so freakin cute. I also got a really nice gym bag that I plan on only using for work but whatever.

this week I'm going to see my trainer / his son FOUR TIMES. Twice with my trainer for weight training and twice with his son for yoga. I'm excited.

How big was the latte?

A small skinny latte is only around 350-400 kilojoules, depending on the brand of milk, (not sure how many calories that is) so that's definitely not bad at all! Or if you really want to reduce calories could you just shot an espresso or short mac?

^Me too, I know JUST how you feel!
Took measurements today... my waist is STILL 25".
I know that doesn't sound THAT BAD... but a 25" waist looks SO BIG on someone who is only 5' tall. D:

Seeing it in the mirror every day is one thing, but then you see the numbers or take pics and it's like "Holy shit! How did I get so big!? Someone get me a sweatshirt, I gotta cover this up!" Lol

Ack, that blows. I know you've been working at it lately too. But the inches will come off, slowly and surely as long as you stay dedicated.

And yeah, you're tinnnyyyy height-wise and frame-wise, I can see how numbers other people would perceive as 'small' would actually be big on you. I had a roommate who was 5'1" once, and at a 27 inch waist she looked rather chunk-a-lunk (she gained after a breakup). I was amazed at the difference height can make.

But, I still think you're sexy as hell ATM anyways! ;)

^ See Im tall 5'7" but for some reason even 5lbs makes the world of difference between being a stick and thick... so odd. Maybe cause it all goes to the tops of thighs and suddenly now my stomach??? I seriously keep looking at it thinking "I hope Im not preggers" Ive never carried weight on my stomach.. or maybe its just the fact Im pushing 30 :( I will lose this though!!! Im determined.

^ ya thats what my chest is like too Gen... part of the reason I got implants. So bony! Not really any reason to retain water other than Im on the pill which seriously makes me retain so much water. I went off for 2 years and I was so light and felt great but alas Im sick of condoms. Im on Jasmine so it does have some diuretic properties but not as good as au natural. Anyway Ive done really well this week and Ill post an update tonight when I get home from school :)

My latest thing (weather permitting) is taking a really long walk from my apartment 3-5 miles, then jogging back. That way, if I'm tempted to walk again, my ass is kinda far from home. If I loop around my neighborhood, I am more tempted to stop and just go home.

Doing lotsa Vinyasa to help my flexibility. Jogging combined with yoga usually makes for a great exotic dancer physique. My pole classes are great for upper body etc, just leaving tons of bruises.

I am so doing this challenge....I'm 5'8" and some change, I think I am 185 by now. Im a 36DDD-32-36 but i want to get my waist to a 28. I just want to overall tone. I want my thighs to be toned and smooth.

I'm eating a lot healthier and not eating out as much. Everyone keeps saying that I lost a ton of weight but I don't see it. I just want my midsection to scream, "Gimme your money heaux."

I know I need to implement more cardio in my routine, thats a given. I just been so lazy but I think if I start with a 30 day challenge, I'll be more keen to keep going. Especially if I write everything down.

Have seen definite improvements since coming off the Pill around 5-6 weeks ago...less cellulite and feel less...well, fat. I somehow actually weigh around 2kg more but as I have been lifting heavier weights, it's all good.

I'm getting better at eating smaller meals and ignoring the urges to eat till I'm completely full all the time.

Also getting used to having less carbs(especially grains) and planning ahead so I have alternatives at hand when I'm hungry...still want something sweetish at least once a day though but have been making shakes as my dessert or treat (with frozen berries, coconut milk and nut butter, sometimes an egg too...the blended frozen fruit makes it seem kind of like having ice-cream in there).

I've upped my Cardio for a change and am actually enjoying it, doing some Spinning as well as my usual running...going on a road trip holiday in 2 weeks time and will be sitting on my backside for hours on end so need to put in some work now (also will 'NEED' to sample good food in every city I pass through so better be in shape to begin with at least)!

Dude, it's totally do-able. I was close to 185 at 5'8" just a few months ago, and now I'm 156 and I feel SO MUCH better. It's little changes, and consistency that is key. And yeah, if you can write down everything you eat it'll help big time.

Alrighty, I figured I'd update since I hadn't posted since, like, May >_>; But I'm currently down to 155 after my second round of the Master Cleanse. I lost a total of 26lbs in 35 days and now I'm only 35lbs away from my goal weight! I think I'm gonna get a gym membership 'cause being around someone who wants to sit around and play video games doesn't exactly inspire me to get my butt up and get to workin' out. >_< By Phase 3 of P90X when my hubby was completely not into it anymore, it was torture, so changes need to be made... like my workout environment! Now, hopefully, it won't take me another 5 months to update my progress!

My week 2 update

Lost - nothing! But Im ok with that because I know I gaining muscle and Im feeling so much better. My weight loss goal is pretty small and I have 6 weeks still to lose only a little over 4lbs so not worried at all. Im definitely losing the pouch and my stomach definition is coming back baby! woo hoo!

Workouts
3 hours and 20 mins walking
2 x 1hr body attack class (high impact aerobics)
1 hour step class
1 hour pump class (weights)
1 hour yoga class

Calories -
lowest consumed 1400
highest 2500
average 1800-2200

My diet wasn't as clean this week I had 2 cheat days instead of one which kinda made things get a little tough going back to eating good the next day. I was successful in cutting out all my teas though. Think I only had 1. I didn't manage to have time to add another gym session - I was sooo busy!

Drank 2L of water everyday

Goal for this week: Add one more work out. Eliminate as many simple carbs as possible.

Really wish I could give up coffee but uni makes it impossible. Im down to one skim latte no sugar/day though and usually a small one.

Hey what happened to everyone? :(

Well heres my week 3 update

Lost - .5kg (1.1lbs) Happy with that thought it might be nothing again

Workouts
3 hours and 30 mins walking
1hr body attack class (high impact aerobics)
1 hour step class
1 hour pilates reformer (weights)
1 hour yoga class

Calories -
I have no idea! Im bored of keeping track. Im just eating generally healthier but I did eat pizza one day and probably had a couple more sweets that I should have. Im a stress eater and Ive got a hectic time right now at uni.

Drank 1-1.5L of water everyday - I was struggling to drink more. I really need to make sure I get 1L in the morning.

Goal for this week: Add one more work out (Still struggling to do this with my schedule)

People are starting to notice Ive been working out. A customer mentioned I looked more fit and my husband is definitely noticing. :)

I just want to stress that once you start going to the gym a weight loss goal should go out the window. You should be focusing on inches. Muscle weighs more than fat so you will see some real results and will look slimmer while putting on weight. People think that I weigh 120. I weigh 150+

Jessie_tinydancer
09-19-2011, 08:34 PM
^this is very true! Just to note my personal weight loss goal is based on my past history. I've been a gym junkie for 13 yrs so I'm just trying to get to my ideal weight where I have been many times before. (muscle included) This is not a inchartered territory... It's my weight I am when I eat healthy and work out most days :) that's why my goal is only about 7-8lbs lost in 8wks. Which is very healthy and reasonable. I don't think weight should totally go out the window... I used to manage fitness centers and we still weighed all our clients during PT. But some clients will gain weight and loss fat as you mention but overall they will still be losing weight. I would be concerned if someone was eating less and more active and was still gaining. Weight gain should only happen if you are trying to add bulk which in my case would involve adding at least 800 calories to bring me to almost 3000. I'm eating less than 2000 most days so even with muscle mass should still lose weight.
