I never had any luck. The management was cool as hell and I never had a problem with the girls. All of the staff got excited when I came in but the customers didn't like me. I don't understand slang so that might have had something to do with it. I say go for it, it'll broaden your horizons and make you more confident even if it doesn't work out for you!

One of my buddies wanted me to go to Onyx in Philly but idk lol....I don't think big boobs and mohawks would fly there.
I am white working in an all black club and yes, sorry but the black girls don't welcome the white ones especially. Theres always at least one girl who will try you so if your not comfortable with that I would stay away all together. I don't give a fuck and have no problem standing up for myself but this can be a problem for some. As far as the custys, I make money off of the foreign and white guys in the club with the occasional black guys so if there aren't many of my types of custys I don't tend to make much $$.

If it's truly a black club they will play hip-hop not rock n roll, but you will make money. Your look will probably be a hot commodity at the club so if you can dance like those girls you have the potential to bank!

I've worked at mostly all black clubs. I've never had too many problems. If any problems did/do occur it's usually girls causing drama. I tend to attract a lot of black men because of my body.

One of the clubs that I dance in is an all black club. About half the time I am the only white girl in the club. About the other half the time there is one other girl. One night we had four white girls. I know this territory. I will approach it from two perspectives:
The Dancers and Management
I have never really had much problem with the dancers and management in my particular club. Like everywhere, the bouncers want your phone number. The manager can be gruff about how many lap dances your VIP customer paid for. I've never really had any real problems with the dancers. Many of the dancers enjoy making friends with me, getting their picture snapped with me, and so forth. The one problem that I had early on was that there were one or two dancers (out of a staff of 10-15 per night) who would literally follow me around, and as soon as I started "selling" to a customer, they would insert themselves between me and them and start grinding. That stopped after about two weeks when, every time it happened, I just went on and started selling another customer. There has never been any violence directed toward me and no open drama that anyone on the outside would recognize as drama. I have had a couple of customers tell me that they won't get dances with me because it will make their "regular" black dancers angry, but that might be customer sh*t, or it might be true. I don't know.
Customers
The customers are a completely different story. I have never faced any scary or violent situations, but the customers DO NOT respect women in any way. They manhandle the black girls (I've never had it done to me, but I have seen it done.) and talk despicably to them. It's not just me, but read on. The "urban" clientele steals from the dancers (white or black), and treat strip clubs as if they are meat markets for pick up. I will have 15 black males per night ask for my number, but the most I have ever actually been tipped by black guys is by two of them in a night. There is NO MONEY WHATSOEVER among the urban clientele in my club. It is very common for the girls to go home in the negative after tipping out. I am not the high earner, but I often go home as the second or third highest earner, and I do it by selling VIP time to the very few whites and Mexicans that frequent the club. On nights when there are not whites or Hispanics, I can go home with as little as $20 for my efforts.
In my club, you have to know when the welfare checks come out in order to justify showing up to work. I show up to dance (somewhere, not always at this club) every night, but the majority of the black dancers only work in this one club, and only after the welfare checks have arrived.
The black men, and this is a complaint that I have both experienced and hear from all the other dancers in the dressing room, week after week, expect 15-20 minutes of grinding for dollar-by-dollar tips. I don't do this. I accept tips when I am onstage, I will give table dances if summoned, and I sell VIP time. When a dancer complains that she gave a standup grind dance to a black man for 15 minutes, often till he climaxes in his pants, and walked away with $7, I often say something like, "Well, if you'd stop doing that, it wouldn't be an issue." To which they invariably reply, "If I stop doing that, I will walk out of here with nothing." They may be right. I don't know.
In a way, I have an advantage being the only or one of only two white girls. White guys who come in or people who just like white girls or want to experience something different almost have to consider me, while there are 12 black girls who are all competing for their attention. But honestly, this was my first club, and I went into it because it was closest to my house. I've been dancing in other clubs for a long while now, and only go back to this "home" club on nights when I am pressed for time because of my regular job. If I work 4 hours and only walk out with $20... well, do the math. Don't get me wrong - I have walked out of this club with a couple of hundred dollars, but it is extremely rare. But I am consistently making multiple hundred dollars in the non-urban environment clubs I work in. I am not sure if I would be as concerned about maltreatment, which I do not think I have experienced in significant amounts (and often it is the same maltreatment experienced by the black dancers), but rather consider the purpose of what you are doing. If you are doing it for money, I have found money to be much more available in a non-black club.
I have worked in one other predominantly black club, and I can tell you that the environment was the same in that club: black male customers treat the dancers as if they are on the menu of match.com or something. They spend their time trying to pick up the dancers, not tipping them. Another club that I work at is a very odd setup in which the club is pretty much a redneck club till about 2am, but a local urban bar lets out at 2 and all the black customers come to the club I dance at from 2-4am. Interestingly, the black lesbians are pretty good tippers. But again, the black males treat the dancers as potential dates and seldom tip.
Here is another oddity: black guys in "white" clubs (and a loose measure of the type of club is the type of music - so I have two particularly in mind, one which plays alternative music and one which plays 90% rock, 5% country, and 5% hip hop) DO, in fact, tip. So it is not necessarily a racial thing I am documenting here, it is more of a cultural thing.
These are my experiences.

Not to sound mean but I really hope you girls don't pay too much mind to a lot of the things mentioned in the above post. I'm not sure what type of black club that girl danced at, but her experience differs greatly than what most girls (white or black) experience at black clubs.
There is NO MONEY WHATSOEVER among the urban clientele in my club.
This is extremely FALSE with most urban clubs. Anyone who has been to a black club before will see the "urban" clientele throwing stacks and stacks of money onstage, unless it's a run-down club. Yes, "urban" clientele are a lot less likely to buy VIP dances, but to say there is no money to be made off the "urban" clientele is laughable at best and incorrect. At black clubs the majority of guys throw money onstage instead of getting VIP dances. Or they get table dances - the dancers shake their ass in front of the guy at his table and in return the guys make it rain on the girl right then and there. If you are trying to claim that a girl grinds openly on a guy for 15 minutes and makes $7, well if that's the truth than either those girls are doing something terribly wrong or the club is a complete dive. I have seen girls (black and white) walk out of the club with duffel bags and garbage bags full of singles from getting rained on. Perhaps the club you worked at was low-end. At a high end or mid-tier black club, as soon as it gets late almost every girl is getting rained on when she's onstage and almost every girl walks away with hundreds in singles.
In my club, you have to know when the welfare checks come out in order to justify showing up to work. I show up to dance (somewhere, not always at this club) every night, but the majority of the black dancers only work in this one club, and only after the welfare checks have arrived.
Of course, because all black men only have money when their welfare checks come. The ones who roll up to the club in luxury cars and get $1000 worth of singles as soon as they walk in the door, and get another thousand or so after they run out, and spend $500+ on bottle service, that money all came from that month's welfare check.
In a way, I have an advantage being the only or one of only two white girls.
That is actually true.
Edited: To prove my point that black customers do spend money in black clubs (where the large majority of the clientele IS black), here is a picture of my cousin who works at a black club laying in her hallway after a night's work. I covered her up with the stars out of respect for her obviously. Her black club is a mid-tier club, not even one of the top black clubs in her area. She also had another garbage bag full of money that was not included in this pic.

Tempest just make sure you can pop/shake your ass like those girls do it... if you can, the guys will look at you like "wow look at THIS girl who can dance like THEM" and they'll really get a kick of it and throw money, if it's a good black club. The fact that you don't look like them will make you stand out, I'm assuming in a good way.
I only danced at a black club like twice, because it's just not my cup of tea or my hustle. But I did make money while I was there. And I do not look like the rest of those girls... I'm mixed, skinny, white girl body. I stood out big time and still got rained on a lot! I made way more than my friend who came with me and she's black and thick.

@Nina re: the post by MILFyChick: I will say up front, as a white girl, that I've nvr danced at an urban club, but the impression I got from her post was that she was mainly describing the experience in the club(s) she's worked at. She states after several examples, '*this is what happens* at my club'. Just playing devil's advocate here but I got the impression her intention was to provide a point of view from the other end of the spectrum, rather than saying 'Uh-uh, these other girls are full of it & all clientele at the urban clubs are cheap PUA types.'

On a sidenote I told my boyfriend that I was thinking of auditioning @ Onyx. He was horrified. I wish I'd had a camera to capture the moment. He's 23, but when it comes to music he is a staunch metalhead. It took me 2 months to get him to watch Juice and he sulked through most of Hustle and Flow. I personally am not anti- rap. I just prefer most of the old school shit. I've tried telling him not all rock is good but not all rap is bad. Le sigh. Maybe he'll loosen up as he gets older.
My main worry is that the clubs want to blast all new rap. :-/

ETA the club I'm thinkin' about is kinda divey..
^^ I say just try it, you have nothing to lose. I mean yea the black girls can try and hate on you and make your time difficult there but when I worked in an all black club I just stayed to myself and I had no problems or at least non that turned into anything serious. Oh and it helps to have a big booty!

Black guys dont usually care about small boobs if u have a big ass. I think they can be a harder hustle sometimes tho..

I have been. My VERY FIRST club i danced at. myself and some girl from Sweden were the only white ones out of black/hispanic girls. What i've seen is the customers like the one or two token white girls. I never had a problem with any of the girls because i was only there to make money and work out WHILE making money. Im not skinny but im not fat. I'm a thick white girl (PAWG) who doesnt do pole tricks so the "urban clubs" are best for me.

When I worked in one, I paid not to go up on stage cause I cannot do pole work, when I did go up all I did was make it clap,ha but I made great $$ most of the time just doing dances and vips. I think its more important to know how to move your ass. They dont like all the slow sensual dancing they like in white clubs, the foreigners there might tho

I worked in an urban club... I was the first "legit" white girl there lol... No ass, no gang affiliation, didn't dance to rap/hip hop/r&b.... Girls eyed the hell out of me when I walked in that dressing room, one asked where I came from and when I responded with Hustler they rolled thier eyes and announced I was a stuck up ill white girl... I proved their asses wrong with in two days. By day 3 I had half of them liking my rock music, wanting me to do their make up and all that. I miss that club and those girls lots but things changed, girls got fired/banned and it wasn't the same.

The place i worked at only 3 girls COULD do pole work. One ONLY made it clap and then i was there attempting to incorporate my gogo skills into it >.<
From what i saw (In NYC) the customers only really care about twerking in urban places

How the hell did you pull off playing rock in a black club?????? Did you have to hold the DJ hostage or bribe him massively?????:O How on earth did you get them to like rock???????? Holy fucking shit dude!!!!! I told my bf and he was like "Tell her to come down to Philly and work her magic @ Onyx!"

Playing rock won't fly in all black clubs. No matter how gorgeous or talented the dancer. It would piss off the customers immensely, if you can even get the dj to deviate from the norm. I've worked at places that would reject hip-hop that's not regional. It's sad, but that's the way it's done.

So my home base club decided to promote a party for work tonight. The client base they were targeting was more of an urban crowd. Mind you, I'm fair as snow and my club typically has a mixture of girls and customers (I also don't do pole work anymore and I don't do booty tricks...I'm more of a slow sensual dancer to dubstep).
I walk into work not knowing what they were marketing for. They brought in all new djs for the night that ONLY played underground hip hop (nothing played on the radio for hip hop and no r&b, solely hardcore rap). Hired 15 more security guys (the promoter for the event estimated 300 guests so the club was trying to be prepared). I wasn't just the only white dancer, but besides my mgrs I was the only white person in the club period. I don't dance to rap, or typically attract black men. Needless to say I felt very out of place. Also; I never bother anymore or start shit, so when I go to get dressed to go home a girl they brought in from Miami (they brought in 30girls for the event) tries to start a fight with me cause I must hate black men and that's why I was leaving? Wtf. No, I don't hate black men, or black women. I like people for their personalities, not their skin color. However do I feel uncomfortable knowing I won't be making money in this type of environment tonight, can't get any type of music that wouldn't make me look corny, and get the evil all from girls that came up for one night. I'm too old and too poor to go home broke or deal with endless bullshit.
For me professionally; I'm not comfortable dancing in a club that primarily caters to black men, or plays hip hop non stop. It's not financially the best move for me, and makes me feel very out of place. Just do what makes you feel comfortable. I'm sure there can be money made if you are one of the few or only white girls and there is no harm in trying it out. If you like it, that's awesome. If not then at least you know.

Lovely dancer i just went through the same thing! Except they brought in 20+ more dancers, 6 bartenders and NO customers. One of the bartender was even talking bad about me while im on stage to a customer. I pulled one of my mangers to the side and explained to him the situation. They told me to get dressed and go home not even 10 minutes after and that we would talk about it during my next shift. Needless to say i'm looking for a new club -.-

unless you in atlanta or houston, go to a white club. blacks got money there. Otherwise yea. they will be more interested. more interested in selling that p***. In my experience, the white clubs pay more by up to 30 perecent. you may not be the only one diffrenet, but work on your mouthpeice and the amount you can get from one customer with little or nothing in return besides companionship is far greater. Not ALL the time but as a rule of thumb. Please dont get mad at my post.

I think it depends on the club. I worked at a club where I was the only white girl, but it was a predominantly Hispanic club, so it was a bit different. I didn't have any problems with the girls, they were perfectly fine to me, not what I would call friendly but cordial and polite. But I had a LOT of problems with the customers because the guys coming to that club were coming to see Hispanic girls, not white girls, and the language barrier was a major issue. Obviously you won't have the language issue, but you might have issues with customers coming there specifically to see black girls, or maybe not, who knows! Just give it a try.
