Off topic but maybe a bit on topic, I truly love reading about the motivation behind wanting to travel. Its a story within a story and no two stories are the same. An international cat lady? Now that's something :)
I know it is shallow hahahha ))) but I sometimes travel to places where men are hot.

My one dream in life is to escape the UK and live outside it for most of the year not just because the cost of living is so high and once again on the rise but because I can't stand it here.
I want to move to the Canary Islands ASAP and hopefully that will be by the end of this year. The UK is not somewhere I want to settle down and raise a family, I feel sorry for kids being born today that they will only ever know this shitfest. I'm ranting but things like that really aggravate me.
Expat all the way here! Living in a country where costs are cheaper but still earning UK/US money - yes please. I love being able to earn my living on the internet.

I'm interested in doing this as well. I am pretty good at picking up languages fast so that is a non-issue. I just need to travel internationally and find somewhere I really like. I want to be somewhere tropical but attached to a mainland. I visited Hawaii and it is too small and I discovered that I could never live on a tiny, insular (locals only) island smaller than my county on the mainland. I am not scared of domestic travel but some reason I am scared to travel internationally by myself..Lol! Gotta get over it though if I am thinking of living by myself out of the country. Mexico sounds good to me..

^ Not to mention Hawaii being stupid expensive. I highly regret the expense the last couple of years we were there. I didn't care for a few ( I figured the adventure was worth it).

This was my main reason for going to Europe... those sexy accents! ;D

I am in travelling through Europe at the moment and since the Dollar is currently very strong vs the Euro it is now cheaper than ever to discover Europe. Internet is also not a problem in Europe but always take your own cable to connect it directly to the router and ask the airbnb appartment beforehand about the internet speed.

^^ What are you talking about?? Its like .87 to .90 cents on the USD! plus shitty bank exchange rates and the cost to change the $$. I dont know what "Europe" your travellin or what dollar your using but to say its strong vs. the Euro is a huge under statment!

If any of you travel to europe or elsewhere but are from usa do you use vpn? I mean if you are english speaking then your placement on camsite from usa would determine that but if you live somewhere like hungary but only know english what do you do regarding english placement on site?

To be fair, the £ is way way worse.

The Pound is worse in what way? Since Brexit the americans are getting a way better deal on the pound but yeah they still lose. But if you mean the English travelling around Europe then yeah it is worse. I think its like .10pence more on the Euro then the USD.
Still we're all doing better then the Australians and Canadians! Those dollars are a joke! :D

I dont use a VPN cause Im on SM and its a pain in the ass there. The site is already glitchy enough without trying to hide my IP. Some girls I know do though and they dont even have an American accent (I do) Its definitely a bit of a minus to have your country listed as in the EU and then the guy who pops in hears you speaking perfect English. I personally have thought about calling SM and asking them to list me as Can. or US instead of ES but I remain in the top rows of the first page without this (never had it) so I deal. Just a lot of the same questions about "Why is an American girl living in Estonia???" :D "Come exclusive and I will tell you all about it!" ;)

Did any of you girls that moved to Europe from the UK have any issues opening a local bank account? In Malta, when you open an account, they contact your bank in the UK for a reference. I was made bankrupt in 2013 and I'm worried that it'll come up. I've read that it could mean I need to stay in Malta longer before they let me open an account although I'm not sure why as it won't make me any less bankrupt. I was obviously discharged in 2014 but it'll show up until 2019 in credit checks. I'm also allowed to live abroad as long as I keep the Accountant in Bankruptcy up to date. Did you ladies even bother to open a local one or did you just keep using your UK card? If so I imagine the rates are high? Thanks x

In some countries, if you bank with the same bank - the withdrawls are free. I know HSBC operate out there but there will still be fees because of the exchange of £ into Euros. I took this from justlanded.com - "If you do not answer these recommendations, you may find it difficult to open a bank account in Malta. If you have a history of debt or have been declared bankrupt, the Maltese bank may insist that you are a resident of Malta for a certain period of time before you are allowed to open an account. You may also be refused point blank."

I'm with RBS. I was thinking of switching to HSBC here so it would make the switch easier or I could get them to open an account for me there before I move, but they seem to want your life details if you're self employed, even if you just want to open a basic account, such as the dreaded, "What do you do?" Question. I'm wondering if the best course of action would be to keep my UK account open and just use my card there but I'm wondering if it's against the law or something? I've been on the expat forum and some people have complained that it's that gruelling to open a bank account in Malta that they've just kept their UK account open and used their card but surely if they lift money from an ATM they would be hit with even higher fees? I'll be getting bank wire transfer from MFC to my UK bank. X

Hah, I actually do love living in Scotland, but I suffer terribly with SAD. It hits me every winter like a brick! I've tried everything from the SAD lights to CBT but nothing worked. I definitely feel a lot happier and calm when it's sunny out, which is why my next step is moving somewhere warm and Malta seemed to tick all the boxes... Plus... Cats.

Your best bet is to keep the UK account and get a pre-paid card with low withdrawl fees. That way you can load from your bank account onto a pre-paid mastercard and withdraw for less. Looks like the Caxton FX Currency Card is offering free EU ATM withdrawals, but do your own research and look for the right card :)

I would recommend to keep your UK account and use that. Also if your not already start getting paid by payoneer or paxum so you have that Mastercard advantage. I sometimes find that for some unknown reason my bank card wont work in certain random location or ATM's here in Spain or Italy so Its good to have options. Your going to have more fees but those pale in your mind when you dont have to stress about accessing your funds.
Once your in Malta actually go in and talk to the banks and find out what they are going to require. Often things change from bank to bank and person to person so just set yourself up with a current UK bank and your Payoneer or Paxum card so you have access to all your funds and your adventure starts.
If it were me I would go into a bank directly and explain the situation exactly. They will tell your how important your bankruptcy is or how it might effect you and what they can do for you. It will cost you nothing to ask the question because you have not opened the account yet.

Todays rate is: $1=0.941€ And it has been in between 0.94 and 0.96 ever since the election.
Now let's go back to e.g. April 2016 -> $1 was only 0.867€ meaning a BIG difference.
You too can do some research, you know, before commenting the way you did ;)

I live abroad (from US, have lived and cammed in Panama, Colombia, and Mexico). I was just wondering, is there a way to create a document with a list of countries it's legal to cam in? Now that I have access to the MEX airport, international flights are hella cheap and I'm ready to step up on travel, but want to make sure wherever I go, camming is legal. Been reading through travel camming and living abroad threads, but it'd be so awesome to have all the info on one doc.

That's a great idea PGD! Maybe we can do a sticky post for it as well? I'll work on a document when I'm done camming today. ooooooooh, I'm so excited! I'd like to make it editable by users as well, so maybe we should put it in verified? I only want actual models with knowledge to update it and not have any random lurker/non-cam person/custie or whatever be able to edit it. What do you think?

Ooo, I can add to this! I've been camming and travelling for the last two years and traveled to 5 different countries (a mix of legal and illegal to cam) and had an excellent time while doing so. Travel communities globally have a growing number of 'digital nomads' who work and travel, although I've never met any fellow camgirls. I have a billion tips but here are the most useful -
Before you leave, get a credit card or prepaid debit card that does not charge a foreign currency fee. I'm a UK girl and can highly recommend the prepaid Revolut mastercard for other UK nationals. I know others with the Halifax Clarity credit card and recommends it. I believe US citizens can get a card from Chase which does the same thing. Changing money from my standard bank account in pounds to Euros or any other currency costs 2.50 plus 2.75% which would really add up without Revolut.
AirBnB is the best way to find apartments. Book for a month to get the best deals. Mail before you arrive and ask whether the internet connection is in the apartment or outside it, I've been stung by this and it's awkward to explain you need a refund because the internet is patchy and you need to work. Ask the apartment owners to measure the speed for you and try not to go below 7mb/s down 2mb/s up. Ask if the price listed is the best price, or say you're looking to possibly stay a while and have a smaller budget. You'll often be able to get your apartment cheaper.
Read the 4 hour work week by Tim Ferris, tons of tips and inspiration for living and working abroad. Or watch this video - which covers the main points.
. You can have a play with what you need from a location here, including fast internet and cheap living costs. Lots of the top locations have other remote workers who'll be interested in meeting you and you can learn a few bits off them too.
Finally, the world is not yet set up for remote workers at all. Lots of people I met were very open about not paying tax to the place they're staying and working without working visas. Travelling on the wrong visa is illegal and you should only take the risks you're comfortable with. But there are a lot of remote workers who write travel blogs or lifestyle youtube channels under their legal name and have had no trouble from government agencies. Be careful who you tell and you should be fine.

Thanks ggminx, here are a few more:
Biggest hazard to being a solo remote worker is loneliness and isolation. I have always traveled solo because the freedom is excellent, you make more interesting connections and I don't know anyone who could travel for months at a time in my home town. You'll need some strategies to beat loneliness or have the confidence to go out and meet new friends and also keep them at arms length so you can get work done and have income. If your work life balance sucks at home (mine did) you're going to have a learning curve. Additionally, travelling solo is riskier. The feeling of being alone and sick in a foreign country, unable to swallow water or speak the local language is scary. So work out what you'll do if you're sick, who you'll check in with if you go out at night and who to call if you're robbed or hurt. Always have water and pain killers, and ideally some nausea pills in case you get food poisoning.
Don't travel with sex toys to places where sex toys are illegal. On a recent trip I risked taking a slim dildo and didn't get any trouble, but I think other women have had. You'll be surprised how little you need in supplies to still have boys turning up to your shows. Before I traveled I had a decent toy box and nice wardrobe with lots of outfits and assumed my shows relied on them. On my first long term trip I had five sets of bras and panties, three V neck tops and two pairs of mini shorts. I figured all my regular custies would notice and was waiting for the first comment of 'that black bra and yellow top AGAIN??' It didn't happen in three months, I'd love to say it's because of my amazing and sexual personality, but I think maybe they just didn't notice? So no need to over pack if you don't want to. Guys will ask for toys but are generally really understanding and curious if you say you're travelling somewhere new.
Try and avoid hotels for anything more than stopovers. You will almost always be sharing an internet connection and the ping from streaming your connection from a router in the hall with four other rooms of internet hungry travelers will be frustratingly patchy. Always have a kitchen for stays of longer than a week. Lots of places, you can eat out every meal for under £10 a day. But OMG, you will get fat. Get a kitchen. And try and find a way to get regular exercise too. I have pale skin, hot climates are bad for me if I exercise outside, so I try and find local gyms and swimming pools.
Try and have something you can do when your internet sucks. If you move around a lot, you will stress a lot about your internet speed. speedtest.com will become your total obsession. Either shoot clips, or do directIM, or start a paid snapchat. Get a local SIM card, never use your plan from home. In fact, the minute you turn your phone off for your flight, remove your SIM card. When your phone turns on in a foreign country you can be charged straight away, I was charged £5 for turning my phone on during a stopover in China. Unlimited data for £5 a day abroad is common on UK contracts and no good. A local SIM almost always works out cheaper, even for a few days.
Lol, I'm not even vaguely at the end of the tips. I can answer any questions.

Done! All the places I've been have an entry, other than the UK, which I've filled out. Sex toys are banned in Thailand, and it's well covered on the document as illegal. I've also cammed in the Philippines and it was the worst experience work wise. I couldn't find anywhere on Cebu with internet over 5mb/s. It's unsafe now politically too, avoid.
I've also visited Croatia (Split), the Canary Islands (La Palma) which were both excellent and briefly in Malaysia.

How would using a VPN to get around the laws make it more legal? If their cyber security people are paying attention, a VPN would paint a bullseye on you.
The locals may know how to dodge these things, and whom to bribe if they get caught, but its still bad. Yes, there are some VPNs that work until they get blocked out, and then you'll need to find another to stay one step ahead. This won't get you out of possibly life-destroying jail sentences should you get ratted out.
Found randomly on the net:
Internet pornography was outlawed in the People's Republic of China effective 2002, when state censors issued guidelines requiring that all websites remove any pornographic material.[1] The government started a crackdown in 2004, which included the jailing of a woman.
Since 2008, the production of pornographic movies has been banned by state censors, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television's prohibition on pornography has been complete, and the government has shown no signs of changing course. Directors, producers, and actors involved in pornographic movies have been barred from competing in any film competitions. Any movie studio found in violation may have its license revoked.[3] As a result of this regulation and censorship, adult films and media can only be obtained through the Internet and on the black market. Possession of pornography is punishable by up to 3 years in prison, a fine of CN¥ 20,000, or up to life imprisonment for large underground distributors.[4] In 2010 China shut down 60,000 porn sites according to Reuters, arresting almost 5,000 suspects in the process.

The type of visa you get depends on what country you're from and whether you want to hold a job abroad. Sometimes you can get a longterm working holiday visa (meaning you can work only from your home country, not abroad), sometimes you can get a work/freelance visa to work abroad. It's a good idea to have some vanilla side business or qualification, when officials ask you why you're there. I have a vanilla career that comes in handy, and I'm currently working part time abroad while camming.

Camming is legal in Norway, but yes you are correct in that the hardest part will be getting the visa. If you are from a Scandinavian country it is easy to go there.
Norway is also insanely expensive. You'll likely be earning in US dollars but spending in Norwegian crowns. Save up a lot before going to Norway.

When I was interested in stripping there (I'm also American) the owner didn't seem to have a problem with me being American. But I didn't fit their aesthetic, so idk how the visa process works for adult industry things. My guess is you could at least go for 3 months on a tourist visa and cam. I'm curious why Norway?
