Is it not true that in almost every way possible, corporate life is demeaning to the average worker? Your employer will exploit you any way they can; it's the American Way. I posit that it's more prevalent in the sex biz not because it's intrinsic to the mentality, but because we are exempted by those outside the industry from the protections and recourse extended to other workers.

I offer, too, that mainstream media demeans and defiles women much more.

Like I said above, I definitely think there is quite a bit of sexism in the mainstream world, probably more. Women in mainstream media that are smart but not especially attractive are made fun of, women still have stereotypical sexist roles in tv shows (mostly comedies though)and women are still treated less than men in corporate jobs. Any woman who has worked in corporate has likely dealt with things like seeing less qualified men promoted ahead of her or harassment. However, there is a thing called EEO that is supposed to cut these issues down.

The sex industry doesn't have something like this. While women in the industry are moving into management positions, the reality is those at the top are men. How many video companies or strip clubs are owned by women or have women at those levels? A few but not as many as they should. Of course the same is said about corporate jobs too.

When femi-nazis stop trying to take away our right to make our living the way we want, and our right to exploit men's sexual weaknesses for OUR personal gain, then yall can talk to us about what you prefer we get up in arms about.

Furthermore, it is highly offensive that you flat discount our very valid reasons for wanting to do what we do. We don't give a shit about your reasons for trying to shove your moral beliefs on us - leave us (and our bread and butter) alone and go back to the REAL issues feminism is supposed to be working for. Then we might get somewhere.

THIS.

I can't understand why they want us shut down. They think we're feeble minded children that can't think for ourselves and we need Big Sister to protect us. Please leave us alone and mind you're own business!!

I got into a debate with a friend of a friend who swore up and down I was selling my body.

My response?

"I'm not selling my body, I'm leasing out the visual rights."

She shut up after that.

If you have to defend stripping to them then they aren't really feminists. Theyre just women trying to tell you what you're allowed to do with your body, the same way men do. It isn't your responsibility, or mine, to use our lives as some sort of statement and nobody has the right to expect that of us.

I think that by accepting to speak of stripclubs from the "female stripper - male customer" perspective we have already made ourselves victims of the patriarchal past.

Of course this is the most common scenario, and it's not a coincidence, but to look towards the future we have to see strippers and customers as just that, not women and men.

Ask the feminists (I am a feminist myself btw) how it is wrong for anyone, man or woman, to take their clothes off for money. Then take it from there.
