Based on your bonus you can at least get an idea of the range where you placed:
From the email:
1st place: $5,000
2nd place: $4,000
3rd place: $3,000
4th place: $2,000
5th place: $1,000
6-10th places: $750
11-20th places: $500
21-50th places: $250
51-100th places: $100
101-200th places: $50
If you stream for at least 10 hours during the three-day event and successfully bill at least $25, you'll get a $25 bonus gift.

Dearest Streamate,
Thank you for a wonderful December. Not only did you showed up and showed out, you really made it rain this month. I look forward to another year of black screens and a whole hell lot more glitches!
Mischievously yours,

Question--where are you ladies seeing the bonus? Because I don't see it under any of my days from last week and I worked well over 10 hours so I should hit at least $25...
ETA: apparently studio girls can't see the bonus at all from their account because it shows up under the Payment History. Lovely...

It won't show in the actual earnings, but to the right it will say "Pay adjustments" click on that and it will show you

Not really sure how they calculated the bonus by models cut or gross revenue.... if I got a full 35% I would have made 3k... I only placed in the top 10. A little disappointed but I guess something is better than nothing.

Ah hah! Thank you doll!
So for those of us who would really like a guide because they're blind (i.e. me):
1) Go under your My Earnings tab for THIS week (not last week on my account)
2) Hyperlinks for 'Download CSV Summary,' 'Download CSV Details,' and 'Pay Adjustments' appear to the right of your earnings under the Session Details section.
3) Select Pay Adjustments
4) NOW it shows up.
That's, like, hidden to me. LOL! Maybe I'm just new to the contest bonus nonsense.

Right? Like, you can't even be mad that your measly $3k only put you in the top 20 (*snort* not measly*) because it's like 'holy fuck someone banked!' hah.
Also, seriously inspires me to see what I can do as I continue to evolve my shows.

I'm only getting 25% so I made over 2100. I did the math of what I would earn if I was getting 35%. :X (which by no means is awful for the 15 hours I put in) I thought I would get a grand for the bonus but my ass was beat. lol I could have done better so I need to stop my bitching. lol In the end this just reinforces I need to put in more hours, up my game/hustle and do better for 2016. Congrats to all the ladies who worked over the holidays! I hope everyone has a super dope NYE!

I'm way more curious to see a list of the actual earnings... I don't really care who the models were. I've seen a few of the regular top row models complaining on Twitter that they didn't even make top 10, which is interesting. I just want to see the numbers, lol.

Yes, it is the model who won first place and she did announce it on Twitter, but she did so privately and only to her fans/certain followers. She's keeping it quiet to keep the haters from coming after her, I imagine and I really don't blame her. We'll see if she reveals herself in the announcement email (Liz always asks permission first).

See, a lot of top girls made $3k and placed top 20 and think it was rigged because, yeah, knowing 10+ people earned more than $3k is hard to believe at that level, but it's possible and clearly what happened. My understanding is that it was based on gross earnings (not % earnings, to make it fair to studio girls) and there were a lot of top models who worked like 12+ hour days with excellent deals. I totally buy it from talking to some of the other ladies who placed well.
I doubt SM will release actual earnings information. They haven't for previous contests and top models don't want targets on their backs where customers or jealous models could find out. Remember that fiasco with MFC accidentally exposing token totals for the Miss MFC contest a month or two back? Some dudes were livid!

Wondering if anyone could answer- do you think upgrading my laptop would help me a lot to have better placement and make more money? I've been on SM about a month, using my old I3 laptop and Logitech webcam. I probably plan on upgrading my laptop eventually if I decide to stick with cam work. I'm wondering if it's worth the money to upgrade?
do gold shows help a lot to attract new customers? Does it temporarily bump your placement?
Thanks for for any help :)

I would say YES if your i3 can't handle SM's requirement. There are other factors that affects placement but using the "required" setting does help.

Is there any benefit of using the SM Broadcaster over the regular Adobe FML encoder? I bumped up my FML settings to all the new 720p HD recommended settings from SM and everything's been great. I haven't even bothered downloading or trying the SM Broadcaster because I don't see a need to. My placement and earnings have actually skyrocketed. So why are some people using the broadcaster over the encoder?

normally the broadcaster is great.... the guys love the picture and it's less taxing on your computer. For me though, something is WRONG with it definitely! And it totally killed my last 3 nights of work (still made my usual with 10000x more effort!)... The guys either had a perfect picture, or some lagged choppy bullshit.... I'm using the encoder until it's fixed... upset i didn't figure it out sooner, but oh well...

Hey! Just openned my account here. First of all, congrats to all the other top 10 of the contest! Also the top 200, of course. I'm very happy with my placement and had lots of fun during those 3 days.
Second, about the encoder and broadcaster... I've heard the broadcaster is not working well yet, but I haven't been able to stream 720p with the encoder either. When I'm on the encoder and I wave, the image is slower than with for example 800x448. The movement is not sharp and it's annoying! Is this normal or am I missing something? I mean, do customers see a sharp image and sharp movement of me or do they see the same slower (like echo) movement? Don't know if I'm explaining myself correctly...
I thought it was due to my PC (wich was an i7...). When I bought a better one (i7 16MB of Ram, very good nvidia graphic card, etc.) I tried again but still have the same issue. I'm tired of not being able to stream on 720p. The placement in the site is starting to suffer, lol.

Welcome to the forum .. I have noticed a little lag on my end at times not much but when i ask if they see it alot of them say no, that the video looks fine. Then there are times that they will complain due to glitches so lately it has been something we just deal with until they fix the problems. Im sure others will chime in on this but its just become something alot of us have been experiencing with the vid feed on occasions. When i see the lag myself i usually log all the way out and log back in and that seems to help sometimes. Hope this helps some.

Well, some of us prefer the broadcaster over the encoder because it works for us! I've been using it since the first tester beta release and it's been flawless. I can no longer use the encoder because of the new settings and my CPU runs too high with the encoder. However, with the broadcaster my CPU is only running at 25% and my stream is perfect with the HD 720. So, that's why some of us prefer the broadcaster...because everyone's computers are different and handle programs differently.

I just like the broadcaster better. It's more streamlined, easier to resize and move around your screen, and I fucking LOVE the record button, I use the shit out of it. It's also super convenient to not have to copy and paste codes at the beginning of each shift too, you only have to hit start. I never had a problem with the encoder either, but after using the broadcaster I will never ever go back to the encoder.

What cam are you using? The new settings don't work smoothly on the encoder with the bcc950 or the cc3000e unless you run through a splitcam software like verysoft. (I'm assuming from your post you are using a Windows pc not a Mac?). The SM broadcaster is no good for the bcc950 or the cc3000e yet.

So there's a pretty big drop in CPU usage just from switching to the SMBroadcaster from 720p on the FMLE? My CPU has been running WAY too high lately, and I'm using a desktop with decent specs, so it's not an issue of having an outdated laptop. I want to be able to keep splitcamming, so getting my CPU down is critical.

Yes! I have an i7 gaming computer. The encoder uses about 71% of my computer where the broadcaster only uses less than 20% at all times. I switch back and forth though, bc I see so many girls having issues with the broadcaster that when my room gets too quiet, I switch. Maybe it is just my paranoia but works sometimes.

So I finally had an Internet tech who came out and he told me that the issue is most likely on SM end. He said that you can have a $10,000 computer with all the bells and whistles and the highest speed in the world and will always run into problems if the servers are messed up or out of date. He went on to explain some more fancy worded explanations that made my brain hurt but the issues we've been having I think are mainly not our faults. He also explained to me that we can have 1,000 techs come out, replace our equipment 10+ times but it's never going to solve anything if the site were streaming to has faulty or out of date servers.
If any of my computer / Internet cam sister smarties can chime in with any input that would be great:)

I was watching you last night some, your issues seemed to have fixed itself after a while. Like on bbw page your placement was WAAYY down and then after an hour or two you jumped back ahead of me.
This is what I noticed helps a little when I am having issues....
restart everything before working...modem, router, computer.
If my room is not popping with some conversation, restart, restart, restart until it does. Like every 15 min if I have to. And then at least every two hours my whole shift.
I also notice that during the times that comcast updates on their end (1-3 am for me) sometimes things are extremely wacky too. And then it magically straightens back out. But yeah, techs tell me that too about SM, or that it may be a tiny issue on internet block which covers a four or five mile radius that they cannot pinpoint.

The techs from your ISP also will gloss over any of the 100's of issues that happen between your computer and SM's servers...if they're throttling traffic by time of day, hard or soft data limits, traffic type (streaming), or based on target website for example. If any of their server equipment is faulty or acting up along the chain, there will be issues as well. The U.S. is decades behind Europe in telecommunications infrastructure in most regions. We've had professional services (banks and ISPs in particular) lie to us outright about all kinds of issues, but mostly because the techs don't actually know what's going on further down the line outside of their narrow vision. Its 20 to 30 "hops" between your computer and Streamate from any given point in the US, and your ISP is responsible for about 80% of those. Unfortunately, knowing that the issue lies there almost never helps anything...the solutions lie with people way above the pay-grade of the guy coming out to your house.
To get a real feel if its SM, we have two basic metrics to keep an eye on them. First is "total models online" which has fluctuations based on time of day but is generally steady. This one is available to any model that cares to look. If SM hiccups and has issues, that number will drop like a rock. Major foreign "in house" studios that stock the back pages of SM will send their model bandwidth to other sites when they see their income dropping, so it turns into a public indicator. Privately as a studio, we can see from moment to moment the time-in-paid average which is a very steady metric also when you're dealing with 100's of models. When this gets rocked, we brace ourselves for the technical support calls.

Yes!!! My placement has been strange like that for several days now. I can't figure it out. For 4 days I couldn't stay connected past 30 seconds and I tried and tried for hours. All the sudden on the 5th day I was able to stream no problem. Could the weird placement issue be something that I'm causing without realizing??? I really wish I was a computer geek but that's not one of my talents unfortunately. Thanks so much for your response :)

Thank you so much for your in depth response. I'm learning as I go along and my brain really hurts lol. Do you by chance know sometimes my internet speed is fine and then once I get on SM my internet speed slowly drops to almost nothing? Is that a sign of throttling from my ISP? That's only happen to me on SM. I feel like this 9 month long mystery isn't really even a mystery. Happy holidays to you and thanks for always being so helpful!

Sometimes it takes up to 15-20min for your GS earnings to show up. Did you just now complete the show? Your earnings might just still be processing (as opposed to tips and prm/exc earnings which show instantly.)
