Just arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what is going on in the world of cam this week. Talk about quiet. Struggling to stay awake at all on SM. There is slow but this is horrid. I hope this contest is going to fix it I think its been still broken since the last one.

What gets me lately are ex regs or new people who say "Hi hru" and leave. It's happening so much that I have been ignoring some of them unless they tip. 99.9% of the time, they leave after you answer. I take notes. 3 strikes of hru and not tipping/doing a show and you're blocked. They do this for free attention.
Yeah I'm getting loads of this aswell. I give them 2, occasionally 3 changes at the max if it's someone new but I'm too nice to ex customers who do this. I wonder if they'll spend again. I'm going to give them a 3 strike rule now aswell.

I have a question about the capability of interactive toys on SMConnect.
Can you only use it for tip-activated purposes, or can you set it so an individual customer can have control over the toy in a private, exclusive, or even a gold show?
Specifically I have a Lovense domi wand and have had customers control it via the Lovense Remote bluetooth app, but it's a pain in the ass to set it up because they have to download the app/set up an account, etc. I recently bought the Lovense bluetooth dongle so I could at least use the Remote app through my computer instead of my phone. From there I actually have the ability to generate a single use URL that I could send to a customer to control the toy for an allotted amount of time via their web browser, but unfortunately when I tried to test this out with a reg the other night, the link wouldn't show up for him in the chat. Which makes sense because I'm sure SM blocks sketchy looking URLs or anything that might "take the customer off site."
I am probably going to email Liz and ask if there is a way to use the link option, but I wanted to know if anyone had experience with using this toy on SMConnect directly (in a non-tip vibe sort of way). Thanks!

I requested to have the bio-snapshot, and it's not what I thought it would be. It keeps taking ugly photos of me in free chat, I thought we got to pick the photo. Hardly anyone is entering my room now. Should I request to have it removed? Anyone else have this issue?

I am starting to think more and more every single day that this entire site is rigged. It’s so ridiculous to me that some girls have nothing but nonstop shows and people in their room talking and tipping when the next girl has absolutely zero traffic in her room. It’s like if you are not on their favorites list and you’re not one of the chosen ones, then good luck you’re basically shit out of luck you will get hardly any traffic and zero shows and even if you do they will only be two minutes long. Meanwhile the favorite girls get nothing but shows and endless GOOD payingtraffic. I have seen so many times The chosen ones doing nothing but constantly rejecting and declining exclusive shows, just because they feel like it meanwhile there’s other girls that would kill to have any kind of shows and they would be willing to bend over backwards for it but they don’t get any paying traffic and they just end up sitting there. It’s completely unfair. I’m over it.

there have been plenty of people on these forums that for years have been convinced of streamate conspiracy theories, like SM only sending good traffic to certain models, and only letting glitches happen to certain models. i think that's a load of BS. have you never had a good shift on SM? because if you have, your theory of everything being "rigged" goes right out the window. and if you've been on the site for a long time and have seriously never had a good experience, then i would say perhaps you need to switch up your hustle, get better tech, or try a different site.
complaining that a site like this is "unfair" is laughable. i'd love to hear what you think a "fair" site would entail, because there's no way to feasibly send "fair"/equal amounts of *paying* traffic to each model. let's just say for a moment that SM did give us all the exact same amount of traffic. it still doesn't mean that a user would spend on you over another model. one thing is for sure: guys have hugely different tastes/interests/reasons to be on a camsite, and no one is obligated to pay you just for checking out your room. remember, you are a performer but more importantly a salesperson, and it's up to you to convince your room to pay you. it's also my understanding that every user now sees a different mix of models based on their location, their cookies, who they've clicked on before/similar models to who they've spent on, etc. so when you go and look at your own home page and compare models side by side, it's not indicative of what other people are experiencing. you might be on row 2 for some guys and page 4 for others. (someone correct me if i'm wrong.)
now i do believe there is some favoritism going on (like super top models only getting a warning/slap on the wrist, while others get suspended for a week for the same offense). THAT is unfair, yes. but honestly, it makes sense from a business standpoint that they'd treat the girls who make them 20 grand a week different/better than the ones who make pennies. not saying it's right, it's just not surprising.
it's worth noting that a lot of new models have joined camsites during the pandemic, so this already highly-competitive industry has become even more saturated this year. now more than ever, models have to put in considerably more effort to stand out, attract customers, and successfully sell shows.
also consider that the girls you think of as "the chosen ones" might have a lot of factors working in their favor that you're unaware of -- such as already being established porn stars/being a recognizable name, working a LOT of hours therefore getting better placement, having a super engaging personality/always being "on" while online, etc.
a really simple piece of advice is to just stop watching/comparing yourself to other models on the site. focus that energy/time on your own hustle and see what happens.

Thanks for your input, it’s just that ever since a studio owner of one of sm’s biggest studios by the way, said in a tweet that she Was not sending some poor girl any more traffic, it has made me question everything. By the way like I said this was one of the streamates biggest and a very well-known studios, and she was the owner. I guess some girl had a sarcastic comment about in a tweet or something like that, and the studio owner replied back in a tweet “I have now taken you off of the traffic wheel good luck getting any shows. “Or something along those lines. It’s still there on Twitter to this day.

Excellent analysis here!
I have been a cam model on SM since 2005 and definetly those theories and wrong.
There are days where i can make alot of money ($50 to $400 per hour), there are days that i am making $3 an hour. I have to point out that the slow days are starting to become less and less since I am trying to stay consistent again.
I've been working and experimenting with my profile picture, sound, cam room and special deals, cause i know guys like deals (even if they are not as cheaper as other models, which in any case it's fine, this guys like to see the word deal or sale lol)
It's all about being consistent and experimenting. Try other sites, try other schedules, see what happens.
I used to check the site to see if it was slow or what but long time a go i stopped to do it cause it was driving me crazy to think about why other models have better cam or users etc. It's just not healthy.
I do worry about my placement when there are glitches cause i like to solve them, i like to restart my router, my PC, clean my cache etc. and usually it gets fixed quick.
I don't feel like a chosen one when i make bank or when i do well, i only think at the end of the day, god damn, all of those long hours taking pics, editing vids, staying online, analyzing when i change my bio pic if i get more users or less, working my clients up, it's paying off, but that, takes months, or years to achieve. Some with a bit of luck, achieve that in no time, but hey, you can't control luck.

hmm. are you part of that studio? if so i'd consider cutting ties, simply because they sound incredibly unprofessional based on that scenario, at least without more details... just saying. that owner effectively publicly responded to a model with a threat which would be a giant dealbreaker for me.
honestly i don't know the ins and outs of contracts that SM might have with various studios. even if it is possible for them to grant studios the capability to withhold or redirect traffic to their specific studio models, i wouldn't say it's fair or reasonable to assume that streamate as a whole does that in general.

A quick question please ladies, after trying to sign up on the main site and ending up with a customer account, I've now spoken to Live Chat and closed it and they gave me the site address streamatemodels.com to sign up as a model. It looks like it's direct with the site but can anyone confirm please? I do NOT want to sign through any kind of agency or group, only directly.
It looks right but better safe than sorry!

So the answer is yes you can set it up for the client to have control over it but there is not an easy way to do it. The way you described is the only way because the links are all blocked through the chat. Its sort of dumb but I think they want to discourage it because it does give you a way to contact the client outside of SM and potentially take him off site. Most of my clients will just down load the app and then add me. Takes a bit longer but its only the first time that they have to do all that and then they can have control whenever they come to me for a private or exclusive!

Does anyone that doesn't have a tip vibe - have "My live vibe is on" on their profile?
A member asked me if I have my vibe in and he was tipping 1 gold repeatedly. Each time he tipped I smiled and said thank you.
He told me he was tipping because of that message on my profile. On my member account I didn't see it
They would only see that if you clicked on it to be enabled when you started streaming right up next to where you enable your phone in the upper right. Maybe it was a glitch....

I do think it was a glitch because I haven't ever flipped that feature on.

actually I just received a response from Liz clarifying that you can in fact use the generated links for toy control. she said models do it all the time and even suggested taking the "www" out of the link so it would be more likely to show up in the chat. i'm going to experiment with it next time i'm on, i imagine i may have to get creative with typing the link in (like spacing out letters, etc) so it doesn't get auto-censored.
interestingly though, i don't actually think this way would lead to being able to contact the client offsite. i assumed that the link just provides them with an in-browser remote control, and they don't have to make an account. if anything, having them make an account on the Lovense app itself gives you the opportunity to private chat with them through the app's messaging system, which would actually allow for offsite contact. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I completely agree with your entire post. I think that in order to be able to assume that traffic is rigged, you'd also have to assume that every girl streaming is exactly the same. In order to be able to be suspicious of/confused by different girls getting different results you'd have to assume that we are all offering the exact same package(looks/show types/personalities...etc). Different chicks are gonna get different results.
Camming is not guaranteed money. It's a purely commission sales gig. Every sales job is going to have its top sellers.

This sounds like me. I used show up somewhere near the top of the front before the placement country change and I still do. I noticed my placement went to top row once when I worked mega hours and had my record week during a contest. Then I also saw it drop 3-4 rows after I took nearly 2 weeks off.
I think it’s based on an entire mixture of things. Hours/Paid %/Weekly Earnings/Hourly
I used to stress a bit about my paid % cause it’s apparently low but I don’t even bother looking at it now cause as long as my hourly is good and I’m making the money I want to make then it’s fine.

i also want to mention that when i have 15 people in my room, vs 3 people in my room i am able to convert the same.
traffic doesnt really effect me.
at worst case i could be down $10 an hour less. or $15 an hour less at most.
which has little effect.
its all about converting your customers. and selling selling selling
Hear Hear! This is so true. You have to stop looking at it like you're waiting for a man to come rescue you from paid chat. It is SALES and TECHNIQUE. When I feel like its slow, sometimes I forget that I need to actively do something to convert a customer. I honestly think I have top row placement because I convert potential viewers to customers. I talk to them. I tell them to make accounts. I tell members to ask support to increase their spending limit. I make the site money and the site rewards me with top placing. I do NOT make as much per hour as the models in the same row as me, they make way more. I convert lurkers to users, they see my prices and shit themselves, and then go spend money on another model LOL.

Does SM not like the word "femdom"? Tried to put it in my room topic but it didn't work. I attempted "I don't sub" as an alternative and that didn't work either. Curious...
I have femdom in my topic quite a bit and it works. Maybe its a site glitch? I saw it in another model's topic not even 5 minutes ago.

Weird! Thanks for the headsup. If it doesn't fix itself by tomorrow, and shoot them a message.

That isn’t your conversion rate, that is your paid percentage. We don’t actually know our conversion rate, that is when people sign up to the site(Sm or white label) so if you have geoblock your conversion rate will be lower because you are not available to all new users.

How long does it usually take for a profile picture to be approved? Mine has been pending for almost a week.

Oh Christ just seen there’s another contest starting Sunday . I’m filled with a dash of mild anxiety, thinking do I change my hours to start at 12am when it starts and join in or simply do my set hours.
When I did rank high I literally killed myself for a week then had to take 3 days off the next week to recover, meaning the extra money I got didn’t seem worth it really.
Wish they would stop running these so regular . For full time ladies like me it just fills me with panic . Anyone else feel that too?

Coffee lots of!! They are hardcore hun and not for the faint hearted . As soon as you log out you’ll start moving down the ranks, unless you’ve had an amazing day then you may hold rank
