How important do you ladies think it is to have a nicely done up cam room? Obviously it should be clean/tidy but right now I've just got a plain bed and a plain wall behind me.
I literally only use half the space of the double bed (if even that) so it takes up a lot of space and looks really plain and boring. I'm thinking of getting a nice sofa or something and adding a bit of personality to my space. Does anyone think it makes even a little difference to business? I'm trying to debate if it's worth splashing a bit of money on to get something nice, as I'll get a good few years of use out of it, or whether there's not much point from a business/customer perspective.
I think that yes it's important a nice background. However you don't need to spend lot. Shein got something cheap and nice as decoration lighting etc.... you can make something nice w little budget too because anyway lol it's just a visual thing effects. X silk sheet, fur pillows lamp lights

I’ve seen some top ladies with the most basic of set ups from a bare room to scrabbling around on the bare floor but they hustled and made it work. Big time. Just know that you are the Center piece and the best things they saw 8)

I don't think it matters that much. The guys are there to get off on their fetish, not to look at how nice your room is...lol. I think your set up will work out for you as long as you have toys and can hustle.

I think it is VERY important! Yes there are top models in bare rooms but often they are offering something special that I don't or won't do. My income increased after changing up my room. Highly recommend doing something UNIQUE like a specific wallpaper or something that makes you stand out/look different than others.

I blocked my 2 tags related to "raceplay" a few months ago after getting advice on here on how to draw the line between BBC worship/Cuck shows and people who want offensive language and I noticed a lot less of those kind of requests until recently I started getting asked more frequently again. someone gave me another raceplay tag without me even realizing!
that tag is a curse and brings an influx of customers I don't want. As if these past 2 weeks haven't been bad enough....jeez.

Then I moved house to where I've got a very plain, boring room to work from and practically overnight my hourly average dropped by $15-20 and it stayed that way for 2 months, it only went back up when I made quite a big change to my appearance.
Not a single other thing changed, I looked exactly the same, same profile, same equipment, same speed internet, same hustle.. my hustle certainly didn't switch up after 3 days off moving house. Literally the only thing that changed room I worked from and I couldn't figure out why my hourly had suddenly tanked. I definitely don't think it was the time of year either, because one day it was fine then it wasn't, my hourly was worse in March-April than it was in Jan-Feb, which is polar opposite to my previous experience. The only thing I could think of was the room.
I'll have a different background I can play around with a bit when I move again, before I get rid of the bed, so I'll do it up a bit and see what happens!

Yes I've had a very similar experience to yours. I would argue the room we are in is as important as to how we look like. When I first got LED light strips, lots of guys noticed and made comments. Now every other person has them and they are kind of boring. I had also used the curtain style fairy lights, lots of models use those now and they are kind of stale. Finding something UNIQUE is key. It is another way for us to attract the type of users we want. I used to cam infront of my shoe shelf and would get a lot more foot fetish requests than I do now. Plan strategically for the types of customers you want goes a long way.

^^^^You ladies are correct. Customers pay attention to tiny details. My camroom is too hot to perform in without the fan on but is luxe. My AC unit is in my loft but doesn't reach every corner of my house or penetrate all my floors so I'm in the hallway using my desk where it's degrees cooler and my background has at least a nice luxe feel that I hope the guys can see from my best angle.

agreed, there is definitely "stereotypical" cam decor now, like the lights you mentioned. i've lost count of the number of models i see now with the big mandala tapestry i used to use. it's one of the first ones that show up on an amazon search, so that's likely why. i found a unique tapestry on society6 that works well for me (since i can't do real wallpaper in my rental, plus a tapestry is easier/cheaper and some designs can look like wallpaper if you hang it well). my cam corner is a bit over the top and i do get comments on that, but i tell everyone that's just how my whole house looks. i'm a diehard maximalist and love funky antiques and art, which is embraced in all of my home decor, including on cam. whatever your "cam personality" is (for me it's just a curated but honest version of my real self), i think it's beneficial to reflect that in your cam space.
that's a good tip about considering the customer types you want to attract. it reminds me of when a model has all of her toys on a shelf in the background, or even just displayed on the bed. obviously if this works for you/your persona, great, you do you. but when i tried this it would always bring shitty customers that would call me a slut right off the bat or just instantly start dirty talking in free chat. i'd get a noticeable influx of the "harder faster bb" douchebags in private, as well as guys commenting that i should have bigger toys. not having my toys out has led to much better first impressions and better conversations/quality of customers. i also decided to stop putting my kink gear on display because i found it scared away vanilla guys.
one more note to add: what your cam room looks like won't matter if your lighting and angles suck. so be sure you have that down before concerning too much about the decor.

What usually works for me when that happens is re-starting my phone. Did you finally get it working?
i have not tried just restarting the phone. do you mean restarting the phone while you're logged in/streaming? i worry about the order of operations, lol. on the streamate page about the interactive toys, it says you should be streaming before you try to sync up the bluetooth/vibe. but i also feel like i've successfully activated them when i've had the app open first. who knows. i will try the phone restart tonight.
has anyone used a browser other than chrome (like microsoft edge) and had success with it syncing up the tip vibes?

I also think it's important, especially if you think/feel your cam space is boring! I cammed in different places and some of them were just meh. I wont say it affected my income, but when I moved and found better place, it made me feel more confident, and seeing yourself in well organized and cool looking place really can cheer up! Only once some dude told something like 'oh you had such shitty place before and now its cool' hahaha
Also offtopic rant: damn streamate, why it works just fine when I'm in free chat, but if my connection is lost it ALWAYS happens in exclusives?! like wtf! I just hate it. And it's not my internet, it's the site!:banghead:

depends on the member. i had moved once and noticed the same you notice about income. a regular told me he hated the room. i thought he was joking
i went into the other room that I had my cam deco in and shows happened.
customers also get comfy w deco. try going into another room.

When mine disconnects I make sure the icon on browser is off (hover over it to get it to go off), restart phone, open app, look for toy, wait a second then click on the icon on browser.
At shift start I start stream, restart phone, turn toy on, add toy to app, then after a few seconds click on the icon in browser.
Both of these are only when live and is the best most successful way I've found.
When I take a break I check it's still connected by hovering over the icon on screen.
All this takes a lot of time, lot of explaining to customers. If SM can sort this out I'd be very grateful and would I am sure make things easier for a lot of performers.

new problem, lol. i just stopped my stream for a moment so i could change my exclusive rate for a regular.
i am getting an error that says "Unable to change your rate while an active stream exists."
i tried completely logging out and back on and it still says it. >_< anyone else? gah. i don't think i'm going to be completing the bonus hours, tonight has really sucked with almost no traffic and nothing seems to be working right for me.
(i just saw strawberry's post also - thank you! will try that out as well)

I go to add toy every time (not look for existing)then scan the QR code, even if it says connected, if it ever stops working. I do this before stream, and during if needed. Sometimes it must still be connected because it will ask me to override the connected toy, I just do so.
I saw on here (Carmen or Sha? both always so helpful BTW) that your phone needs to be awake for it to stay connected, I usually keep my phone charging or open to the vibe app. It only seems to go out mid stream if I don't.

Mine is always open at the app, I've not actually noticed a correlation with this. I've gone into another app without disconnect yet had it disconnect when it's open.
The other advice is use same internet source, ie same broadband. I do this too, but still disconnects. I've tried phone really close too. Everything!

WHAT THE FUCK it's usually 9.99 and i have the ability to go higher, and now it is stuck at 6.99 at the highest rate!
i can't believe we don't have live tech support, i can't stream all bonus/contest weekend without being able to raise my exclusive rate
i guess warning to everyone - don't lower your exclusive rates right now in case this happens to you

i've never had this many bad things happen all at once, and most of the "glitches" i usually get on SM are tolerable, not detrimental to my stream. i sent an email with an "urgent" subject line to both liz and tech support to see if hopefully the rate issue can get resolved tomorrow/before the weekend. what a shitshow.
i'm going to get back on for a bit and see what happens. i barely had anyone asking for shows anyway so if someone comes along for an exclusive it'll be their lucky discounted night, lol. i just refuse to log off with less than $150 for all the effort and energy i've already put in, but i'll give up if nothing happens in the next hour or two.

Experiment with different days and different times of day. Late Friday/Saturday night when the guys get back from drinking can be good. Weekends during the day time (esp. Sunday) are also good. Keep in mind what time it is in the US and UK; that is where most of your customers are from.

Arghhh I finally got a one AND a two star review in the same 24 hour period! WTF! So annoyed. I'm gonna email support, they were both from really short shows so hopefully they'll remove them.
Today 2 foot matches lol. 6pm and 9pm. I guess post 11pm some traffic. 5pm and 8pm uk time. Isn't affect the job today?

Is anyone still waiting on the worldpay email for wire transfer this week? The payment is showing up on my payment history, but no email yet. For months now the emails have been coming around 9am, for years before that they came at around 1445. It has only been once that it has been this late and hasn't come, and it turned out my pay was missed off the payout that week, and after emailing Liz and Vanessa it was sorted out really fast. Just wanted to check if it might have happened again. I am in the UK for reference x

Out of interest, on your payment history page, is the date listed as this "06/20/21 � 06/26/21" with the question mark denoting a non displayable character?

Ditto keeping the app up and open. I do exactly what you've advised and 9 times out of 10 I am connected without issues, but I do keep the app up and open which seems to keep me connected almost every time. If I restart stream I add toy again even though it can be picked up automatically. I rescan code every time. It used to be a hassle, but now it's just part of the routine and keeps the vibe running smoothly.

I haven't had a reply to my email to Liz/Vanessa yet but I am hoping they can catch onto it before it is too late to run the payment before 4th July holiday...

Last time it happened to me was 21st June 2019, I emailed on the 24th (the Monday), the payment was reissued and the email came on 25th and the money following a few hours after.

Quick update on this, i sent liz an urgent email around midnight last night and i just got a response saying my rates have been reset to 14.99 max again. Very happy to get this resolved so quickly.

She really truly is. I left a studio a few years back and waited an entire year to sign up to SM again as an independent model, as per the rules. The studio I worked for was run by really shady people who would take money from us girls whenever they could. "fines" and what not. my entire last paycheck was stolen just because the manager "felt like it" as a way to punish me for leaving I guess. I wish I was making this up.
I was never able to get my hard earned money back but I was able to talk to Liz and get my independent account approved by her personally after the studio tried to blacklist me by lying about me. Liz heard me out and looked at my proof and approved my account, freeing me from the studios grasp. if it weren't for her I literally would not be on this website today. I owe her my livelihood!! lol

you said you do this before the stream? i must be misunderstanding because I thought you can't access the interactive toy feature on SMConnect unless you are already streaming?
unless you mean you immediately pause your stream/go on break, which is what i did last night so i could troubleshoot the toy without having everyone watch. still didn't work, but i'll probably continue trying that so at least people don't have to see me get frustrated.
also - on the Lovense Connect phone app, do you always click the "Scan QR" tab on the right? or do you use the Scan QR option under the Accounts tab? when i click the Accounts tab, my cam name shows up under "liveclientperformer" which would imply it should connect to SM successfully. I did send an email to tech support telling them all the ways I've troubleshooted so hopefully they get back to me with something useful, though i'm not counting on it.

yep I do it before streaming, just add new toy every time. Then when I start streaming I click the icon live once streaming.
On the app I use the scan QR on the right always

Just to add: I always delete liveclientpreformer in accounts after locating my vibe and then scan the code and I do this once I am streaming, however it is possible to connect before show is started. I do it once I start the show tho.

No I think there was a balls up this week. Everyone who didnt get paid has a weird question mark on the date section of their payment history for last period.
