Hello CatBBW
The EU VAT consumer information you supplied has been reviewed and has now been rejected.
Reason: Your documents have been re-evaluated in line with the latest VAT advice received.
If you are able to resubmit as per the requirements, which may have changed since you last provided us with information, please feel free to do so via this page:

I will NOT be reapplying as the info they are requesting is none of their fucking business! From here: http://www.adultwork.com/LKBA.asp?A=765 one of the items is: "A Personal Tax return stating you are Self-employed showing a profit or a loss." and "Class 2 or 4 NI demands or acknowledgement of payment made." NO WAY.

We've all had that shitty email. So sorry girls, looks like AW are playing buggers with us! You CAN still prove you're a business (and therefore exempt from the vat on admin fee) with your UTR but they want the most RECENT tax return, something preferably with how much tax you've paid on it. if you're a limited company those details will also work. They ARE still taking advice on this though, I'm working on making them understand that VAT shouldn't be payable on our services at all as they don't fall into the definition of "digital goods or services". They are listening albeit changing their minds everyday based on the (bad) advice they are getting from their accountants in Cyprus.
@Harlot that's really weird. My guys were telling me yesterday they couldn't connect to private. They didn't get a message about prices, just a loading screen and nothing happening. Others are getting constant disconnections. All the VAT updates/ tweaks seem to have broken the site and JCI has been down most of the night :(
But STICK WITH IT girls, AW will bounce back. Keep the faith xxxx

Bugger! Looks like DirectCam is down. I kept getting the message that it couldn't connect to server and thought maybe it was just me but I'm seeing tweets by models with the same problem.
Hope this is temporary (very)...

AW have a notice up saying connectivity problems are partially resolved...oh joy, only partially!
I'm from Belgium but living the UK for years.
On the government website of Belgium it says that audio or video / cam feed fall under the digital goods law.
So, yeah fuck.
Does this mean that everyone who got their VAT details approved, now are rejected again? Or is it just CatBBW?

Exactly. They know my bank account number, my address, my passport details, my shoe size, and the amount of pussy hair I have....they do NOT need to know how much tax I pay (or owe), just that I AM registered and I DO submit tax returns.

As far as EU goes the directives state that live webinar, online teaching etc are NOT digital services. only things that are automated or require minimal human intervention fall into the definition.

I was on for a couple of hours today...all the shows were under 2 minutes, and privates were about 30 seconds...not sure if that was me, my prices or AW issues. The site looks as busy as usual but most of the girls in paid were charging less than me. I can't connect at the moment either.

For those who want to read the guidelines in full (which i recommend) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vat-supplying-digital-services-to-private-consumers/vat-businesses-supplying-digital-services-to-private-consumers
The parts specifically relevant to us:

So, looking at the "Examples of electronic supplies and whether or not they are 'digital services'", I would say we fall under the "webinar" category, which is exempt. Looking up what "webinar" actually means (although it seems pretty self-explanatory), it says "a seminar or other presentation that takes place on the Internet, allowing participants in different locations to see and hear the presenter, ask questions, and sometimes answer polls". I mean, that's pretty much hitting the nail on the head, right? They ask questions, "Give us a twirl, bb?" and we instruct them on the correct use of their penises.
To me, it looks like the VAT changes apply in instances where something is already created and automatically supplied by clicking a button, ie. our pre-recorded videos, photos, etc, rather than things that require an actual human being to do the transmitting, ie. webcam, phone chat, custom-made content. The question is, is AW really going to take any of this on board? It feels like they're just slapping a blanket VAT on everything to cover all bases.
Where does it say this? Can you send me a screenshot please? Would be very useful to have info from different states. As far as EU goes the directives state that live webinar, online teaching etc are NOT digital services. only things that are automated or require minimal human intervention fall into the definition.
The website is not in English.
But it specifically says "webcam services" and "phone services".
This is probably why it goes wrong, if every EU country has other interpertations of the law and AW based in Cyprus, they will have no clue what to follow or who's advise to take.

I've contacted AW regard the VAT discounted of my webcam bookings sessions and they said, that they don't charge us VAT of our earnings, and now i am pretty sure that the guys are lowering the amount of credits, they want us to absorb the VAT on skype bookings as they can't do anything against this on DirectCam sessions, so they try on webcam sessions, and is about new members i never saw before, because my regulars seems that they do respect my rates. I made some math and they lowered the amount with 20% less and others lowered including with even more... 40%, wtf... fuck them... i leave always the booking to expire... and i make them booking until they do respect my rates or they can move their ass on DirectCam if not ... fuck them , i not want cheap arses anymore ... so after the session they can leave negative feedback... cheap arses have to be avoided... one time i have accepted a cheap guy and he left me negative feedback because he expected the moon for 10 credits, wtf!
Models end up paying the VAT - there's no way around it... The reason I say this is because when a customer buys credit, be it 50 credits, 100 credits or whatever, that is what he spends on his sessions and that's it. He will get 20 - 25% (depending on his country of residence in EU) less time in private for the same purchase. He's not going to up his credit purchases by exactly 20 - 25% to compensate for the increased rates, so despite him "respecting" the new VAT adjusted rates, he just spends less time in private.
Therefore us models have to consider one of 2 choices - lowering our prices by 20 - 25%, or keeping them the same. If you keep your prices the same or lower them, the customer will likely still spend the same on you, but you will work 20 - 25% longer if you lower the rates. There's another compelling reason why lowering rates is a BAD idea - non-EU based customers do NOT see the VAT adjusted rates so you'll lose 20 - 25% on those customers or work 20 - 25% longer for the same commission. My biggest spenders are non-EU based customers, so there's no way I'm going to lower my rates for them and at the same time work 20 - 25% longer for the same money with my EU based customers.

So AW r charging us 20% of 35% admin fee 4 direct cam, which is 7%, so now we earnings 58% instead of 65% :( BUT 58% of 0 is 0 so haha on them!! anyone wants 2 get the moneu back need raise old rate by 7% for directcam and 6% for skype and sales.
They getting 7% frum us an 20% frum EU customer an they in cyprus an not EU so thy just give themselve 27% raise!! i hopes they use some of thats 2 increase traffic cuz it dead now :( i out of biznes an i dun even lives in EU :(
Customers based out of the EU zone will not see VAT adjusted prices. I suspect a European model will get a lot of interested from customers based outside the EU. Some countries pay as high as 25% VAT (Norway?).
I've lived in a country when VAT taxes were first introduced. There's always a widespread panic to new taxes. It will settle down over time.
AW doesn't make more profit by VAT adjustments as that money is collected by the EU tax authorities. AW are not going to find this transition profitable and they are not doing this because they want to. The only way I can see AW winning from this is if a high percentage of models panic and lower their prices - which will add to overall site popularity, particularly outside the EU zone. This will indirectly help the higher charging models too due to increased traffic.
Who knows? Maybe the new owners have a plan to move to a tax haven. Apple escapes high US taxes by keeping cash reserves in tax havens - why couldn't AW do the same? It's an internet based company - easy to move.

I'm confused about this whole VAT thing , I'm a model from the US are they taking the 20 percent from me too?
As long as you're verified and have another proof you live outside the EU, you won't be charged VAT on top of your 30% administration fee. Verifying a US phone number is the easiest way.

Great if you're right, but the way I see it is we pay AW an administration fee (30% +VAT) for the service they provide us. AW doesn't pay us commission, we pay them a service fee.
I haven't been online since October 1. Are they now charging 6% for JCI fees for models based in EU?
