You can't just rely on the site. AW isn't dead but there is a lot more competition now. Use social media, blogging, guest blogs, your own site, videos, niche forums etc to bring people in. And cam on other sites too so you have more of a guaranteed income.

Also you should try some different profile pics like a full bodyshot or two. They don't have to be professional (better if they're not actually) but try to show off your best features and/or something about what they can expect. Wearing red or pink can help to get attention.

Red or pink are good colors for photos? That's interesting. Hmm...

I'm confused and really upset with AW. Since I've moved to the UK they informed me that as long as I don't live in the US and an AW approved country that I can apply and rejoin. Great news, right? No. I haven't been on AW in over 2 yrs, I'm rusty and after sending in everything they asked to prove that I'm in the UK (taking photo of newspapers w dates, standing outside looking stupid taking pics next to post boxes, etc) 72 Hours go by, nada. They said Sunday I would get a decision.

Meanwhile I purchase credits and put placeholder pics on the site. Again, I'm waiting for registration approval thinking I'm not even live let alone verified. They suspend my unverified account for 2 weeks for using pics on another site, lol. So they have time to comb through my pics, (which I'd added because they were taking ages to approve me) but no time to verify me so that I know I'm live/registered?

So I tried to appeal it and it was denied because I 'should've read the terms'. Again, how does a new person know they're even showing when theyre still waiting for approval?! Make it make sense. So now I have to wait until the 26th for them to decide if they'll let me back and again, am I'm going to actually be verified from my submissions on the 9th or not? They refuse to answer. I think they just don't want to approve me for being American and are testing to see if I live here as most tourists would be gone in 2 weeks. Nah, Ill still be here since Ive movvvedddd.

I'm very sorry this has happened to you. AW has been HORRENDOUS with me (you can go back a few pages and read what they did to me if you want), and they continue to not give a single fuck about their models, specially their non UK models. You probably are also from a "Risky Country", so now you have to deal with the "advisors" sweetkik and their fucked up rules. They are also super rude. When I asked them to show me proof of my pics being used elsewhere they told me they had no obligation to show me this, and that if I didn't want to follow the rules, to not bother to re-register. In those words. I had to find through my dailypay studio what had really happened (a website had used them without my permission, but they didn't care that it wasn't my fault). If it wasn't because my ADHD ass finds it very hard to learn and get used to new sites, and I didn't have some very good regs, I would have left in a second. Now I feel like this could happen to me again any day, because it can.
Hopefully you'll be able to have them give you "another last chance", as they did with me. Good luck!

Red or pink are good colors for photos? That's interesting. Hmm...

An old school tog who used to be a very keen amateur photographer in the 1970s once told me that at the camera clubs back then they were always keen to use a " patch of red" in the photo. There's something in the eye that is drawn to the patch & it makes the picture pop.

It can be light, cushion, nails or even lips, but should never wear it all over.

Red & Black can stimulate fight or flight response in humans. Many dangerous insects & reptiles are those colours, so that might work for some Domme but probably not best if you're going for a softer GFE image.

I love red lipstick & lingerie but it doesn't love me sadly. I've always found guys hate red lipstick generally on me.

I always try to at least have a pinkish or peach filter on my pics so my skin tone pops in my profile pictures. I think it works.

Red or pink are good colors for photos? That's interesting. Hmm...

Red evokes romance and sexuality and leads men to action. Used in advertising it is known to increase sales and outperforms every other colour when used as the main colour on call to action/ buy now buttons. It can also evoke fear and so good to use sparingly. Pink is red's softer cousin and has many of the same qualities but tends to evoke nurturing feelings (good for subs, playful gfe, attracting sissies etc).

Red, pink and purple are the colours known on Pinterest to STOP people scrolling and grab their attention. I didnt suggest purple as it's close to blue which evokes trust and steadworthyness - good for when you're already established and use it on your own site (royalty, class, trust) but not so much for initial impressions on a cam site. There have been many many studies over the years.

See colour psychology and marketing psychology. As Kristen points out above, just a pop will do, on the part you want people's eye drawn to. Small tweaks can make the difference between being seen or ignored!

It does. Studies of dating apps have shown people are perceived as more attractive when there is more beta caretine (tanned/red-yellow pigment to the skin)!

While we're on psychology - wording also is important. While the picture is what grabs people first, once they're on your bio you need your text to continue that first impression and lead them to take action. These will be unique to you depending on the customer avatar you are going after but these sites can get you started https://www.google.com/search?q=wording+psychology+take+action&oq=wording+psychology+take+action&aqs=chrome..69i57j33.19461j1j4&client=ms-android-samsung-gs-rev1&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 (i have even been known to use coschedule's headline scorer to check out new bio ideas lol ;)

I'm a fan of the pinky filters too - I like the pink filters in the Airbrush app the best but I always try and tone it down a touch from what it's preset too, otherwise, I find too soft & wishy-washy looking. Sometimes if I'm not sure of how much filter to use, I set to 45 my age.

I always notice an increase in business when I do new pictures - They tend attract back guys that may not have called me for a while. When I do private pictures, I upload one set and do the next set the day after to get that extra bit of exposure in the picture section.

I might also start using the blog feature a little in future - I'm sure some guys will like that but, I think for most of them they go straight to the pictures and clips rather than read about what we've got to say.

When i said blogging i meant like your own, or guest posting on other popular blogs (with a link back to your profile). Perhaps the AW blogs have some internal use but they don't seem to show up in google so not much good for advertising purposes x

Really good insights, thanks ladies! I've taken notes (quite literally) and think I'll take a couple new pics this week. I did take some pics with red in them (red boots) but they're in my private gallery and aren't quite right for what I am trying to attract. Will get some new ones, and look into wording phsychology for the profile itself too. :)

A question while I think of it... As a writer, I have used content marketing in the past (or, helped businesses use it) but am unsure how this works in the adult space as most of the people I talk to on the phone are not the guys following me on twitter or reading my AW blog or profile. How do others use it effectively and are there any good resources one could read about effective blogging in adult work circles?

I seriously struggle writing my own profile bio's. I can talk for England on the phone but my mind just goes blank when I try to write a good profile.

I shall check out that thread Susie posted later and see if I can get some good tips.

It's just a patch of red that you need remember :)

I can't remember now the exact reason why it's not advisable to use too much red or wear it all over. It's something to do with how the camera struggles with the colour - like it's the hardest colour to focus and/or process - something along with them lines but there's a technical reason for it.

The guy that told me this was years ago. Another tip was to have a hair light. Which is a light that shines on the back of the head but out of view of the camera. The light shone this way makes your hair look bigger and better but it's hard when we're doing a selfie trying to get the light in the right position especially when you're moving around.

Another one was careful with shiny cream and oil, he liked to mat the body down with talc. A mat body is easy to photograph than a shiny reflective one. I can't remember the technical reason he give why though og the top of my head.

To be honest though marketing techniques work the same for any type of business, you'd be surprised how guys find you! Your content marketing will stand you in great stead as that is essentially all this is. Seo from blogging and social media will bring in long term traffic from google, so it is well worth spending time on.

Write about your favourite fetishes
Your experiences on cam
Write about your newest video clip or audio (and include a buy now button at the bottom)
Review toys or clothing or events you've been to and then reach out to the brand/company with a link to the post
Do a 'round-up' post of other blog articles on a topic and then reach out to those blogs saying hey loved your post, i included a link to it on my post about x, take a look
Reach out to popular adult orientated blogs and offer to guest post (their traffic will come check you out if you include a link)

- these last three will help you establish connections which will help get your post shared and seen by a wider audience, and may help you get brand deals (free goodies to review and then later paid posts)

Write naturally (but take time over your post headings!) And the seo will flow naturally. Aim for over 1000 words. Make your first paragraph narrower than the rest to keep people reading. Have a call to action (visit me on cam, check out my new video, follow me on insta, share this post etc) in the middle and end of each post and keep the page otherwise free of distractions (ads, insta,/twitter feeds etc) so they keep focussed all the way to the c2a!

I had actually thought about sex toy reviews as part of the blog, but glad to hear it's a thing people are doing and having some success with, so it's not just an idea of mine that isn't any good.

A shiny body, that's so random! But I can see what you're saying. Too much red might remind people of blood rather than sex, or something. Hmm... maybe worth googling in a bit to see if I can find a reason.

hi ladies

anyone know what is happening with the skype bookings business? My booking button is very still much there and I have taken bookings today. Do we have an update if its still being thrown out and if so when?

Kristen_Krystal
05-22-2019, 10:28 AM
Haha - I did google myself yesterday because I wanted to remember the reason myself and it's just because it's a hard colour to photograph - it never comes out true and easily gets overexposed because it's the most dominant colour on the colour scale and that's why you only need a patch. You'll notice most famous paintings and photo's all just use a patch of red. The rules goes back before cameras were even invented.

You should be careful with shine because it reflects other colours in the room. I once had some pictures taken and I'd put on a luminous body cream thinking it would look good. The pictures came out with all funny red dots all over my body because the refective particles in the cream had reflected the red satin bedsheet underneath me.

Experimenting with pictures is good and the one and the only thing that boosts my income is new selfies & then eventually they stop working after a few months and I do some new ones again.

If you mainly do IM & phone then I think a variety of profile pictures is even more important because when the guy is chatting on IM, he can see your three main pictures on like a slide show so you want really aim them pictures at the guys you want to attract. I've recently started focusing more on cleavage and lingerie pictures and the guys I seem to get are guys into boobs and lingerie. I mainly get the vanilla types and the subs with that type of picture.

Answer us via email with ACTUAL answers not stock automated responses followed with condescending drivel that denies there's a problem and it must be our computer/internet.

They can oh i dunno.... ADVERTISE for a change and bring in customers!

hi ladies

anyone know what is happening with the skype bookings business? My booking button is very still much there and I have taken bookings today. Do we have an update if its still being thrown out and if so when?

I just noticed the new system message on Just Cammit & it no longer mentions about Skype & scammers - It's all about attempting to take customers from AW to another site will result in membership closure so it's looking like they're still planning to do away with Skype bookings.

I wonder if they'll keep the option open to feature our profiles for webcam though ? I'm reluctant to feature because it's a month in advance & I've just been doing the odd day for phone chat instead & I've noticed the price is going up quicker on it than it usually does - like everyone is featuring just for phone now.

Do you think they're featuring for phone because cam is more expensive so it's all going up in cost? Or, did I misread that?

UPDATE: Rest assured we will not be making any rash or rushed decisions over the removal of webcam bookings. Now that we have made this statement we are evaluating all feedback and other implications that are surfacing. Our endeavours are focussed on providing members with the best experience and platform to conduct their online adult business, nothing more.

When I contacted them, they just replied with the notice about removing skype bookings. I can still go online for booked cam.

I think more people are featuring for phone due to this uncertainty about Skype bookings. Daily featuring starts at 3 credits for both services, but usually, phone stays at 3 for a good few days. This week I've noticed it's at 3.4 within a day.

Webcam daily featuring is more for Skype bookings & then Direct Cam position is for that platform - That's how I always understood it to be & that's why I'm wondering if they do get rid of Skype will they still keep the webcam daily featuring because we can buy it up to a month in advance & if they do remove Skypes & keep webcam daily featuring - will that not confuse the customers?

They'd changed the System message on DC last night & it no longer mentions Skype like it used to do.

Kristen_Krystal

I think they probably will keep the option to feature daily for webcam - I hope so. I prefer to daily feature rather than bid for DC. Don't know about front page though. Maybe they could change up they webcam feature to Direct IM'er of the day instead.

So I heard back only to be told that because of non-UK peeps connnnsstantly breaking rules (funny, most of us were banned 2 yrs ago so how?, also, I live in the UK now), they will not be allowing those who have been banned or suspended (even though they punish you for 2 weeks) to have their accounts, back. So the money I put into that acc. they keep, and they of course had to add the snarky and unnecessary "if you don't like it, don't use our site" bit like, durrrr.

At least they're allowing me the chance to re-register which I find comical considering they told me that they're noting my 2 week punishment and why, on the new acc. Ummm ok? Why force us to create a new acc. if there's going to be a blemish from the previous acc. on it? Why not just let us keep the old acc. (which was new and waiting for verification, lol) with a warning on it? Oh, and if we do something else 'bad' were barred for life, lol. AW is extra for no reason. Pretentious has always been their thing but they're doing a whole lot and I wish they'd take their own advice of 'there's no need to respond'. Just get to the point and stfu. Models just want to use site traffic for a service they pay for. Period.

I noticed this -

If your account was deactivated in the past, we are offering an account amnesty for those members who wish to return.

Please understand, we never remove accounts unless they have breached our Terms of Use.

It may be that you did not read or understand our Terms fully but those Terms are in place to protect the whole membership.

If the Help Centre have rejected your application for membership, you may appeal that decision.

Appeal Process

Your case will be reviewed by a human.
Each request will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Please complete the appeal form only once.
We will send you a final decision within 72 hours.
If your membership is accepted, you will need to read our Terms fully and agree to abide by them in future.
If your membership is revoked (after your appeal), we will not be able to enter into further correspondence.
Regrettably if your application for membership has been denied by any Business Advisor (requesting that you do not re-register), we will not be able to review these cases.

I remember being on AW and got my account suspended for using a pic that was also somewhere else. I really don't know which of the 3 pics they were talking about and didn't remember using them on another site but they said I did so the credits in my account were taken from me and I was told to write back in a couple weeks to ask for reactivation.

About 4 weeks later I wrote to them and they said they same thing about being watched closely and I'd be kicked off forever if I do anything wrong. I never bothered responding or try to get my account reopened. I felt it was humiliating so just said, fuck it, and went to another site.

To this day I really don't know what picture they were talking about Lol...luckily I was on daily pay so there wasn't many credits in my account.

Period.

Same here, they are using the same copy-paste message to everyone, making you feel uncomfortable.I find it silly how they ask you to do your research and try to remove the pictures, not giving you an answer for 2 weeks, making you wait, just to tell you that they will close your account anyway. Why?!Just WHY?!!:spin:

Anyway, the customer service told me this morning that we are still able to offer skype session and that we are allowed to cam on other websites while we are on AW! so we can split cam on babestation and aw

And yes,the new JCI message is for everyone(at least I have it too) probably because of this crazy stuff with skype.

So I opened "JustCamit" after 2 weeks and had this message: AdultWork.com Warning : All cam sessions MUST BE CONDUCTED using AdultWork.com CREDITS. Any attempt to redirect customers to other sites or direct payment will result in CLOSURE of your membership.

Is that new? Does everyone else has it too?

yup..just logged on and also got tht message

If they do get rid of Skypes which I think they will eventually due to these new age verification laws that are probably making them a bit twitchy - definitely don't try to redirect customers to other Skype sites when you're using any of AW'ks services because I'm sure they use bots or something that picks up on keywords.

You can't even use a £ sign on just cammit - it just shuts down the chat straight away. I once had a guy wanting to buy me lingerie & every time I tried to tell him the price it kicked him.

Just be careful

I'm getting tired of paying for availability only to have AW take my profile down, wasting money. On another 'ban' until I verify though I've seen a few girls with no verification why must I be forced to? I sent in verification for the last profile, which is linked to this one, so why not use the info I sent in? And they didn't check it until 6 days passed not 48 h in which they then suspended me. Am I ever going to allowed to use the site?

You aren’t alone today!!

I’ve made a grand total of £9.36 from directcam since 8am. Not a single paid show since 10.30am. Even freeview is dead for me!

Nightmare, I thought it was just me!

Can someone tell me when you sell an item on AW what the percentage fee (taken by AW) is for a Sale. Is it 30% (part of the Admin Fee) and/or is there another fee on top of that, like 5%? (meaning if I list an item for Sale is the fee then 35%?).

I did use the Sale/Marketplace years ago but can’t remember what the fee was. Also I have looked all over their Help feature but can’t seem to find the answer, despite trying different search combinations.

Would be really grateful if someone here could give me the heads up. Thanks. /:O

I'm sure it's just 30% as it is for private gallery sales etc. The extra 5% is the JCI fee for using their software :)
