1. Do you worry about your school administration/ other students finding out? If so, what do you do to keep this from happening?
Yes, I do worry about this. Sort of. I'm an undergrad research assistant to a high-profile researcher/professor in his field (a division of geology), so being found out would be painful. Since I attend a large SEC school, I block the entire state rather than just the city.
2. Will you be living in a dorm? By yourself or with a roomate(s)? How do you plan to do this while maintaining your privacy?
Nope, I live off-campus in a house with a roommate. The biggest privacy issue is that my bedroom is connected to our kitchen, but I think she's accustomed to tuning out me and my boyfriend, so maybe she'll be oblivious.
3. What is your weekly $$ goal and how many hours are you going to work?
My "minimum operating budget" is roughly $900/month (rent, groceries, bills), so anywhere about 1k would be excellent. Since I have another job, I can dip below this. I'll probably do nothing but cam over most of winter break, then Thursday-Sunday nights next semester, or early mornings.
4. Are you going to include your camming income when applying for the fafsa/ financial aid?
Ja!
5. Do you ever worry about the long term effects of doing this and how it will impact your future career/academic opportunities?
Yes, I do; I'm on a PhD track program, so I'm planning on a career in academia or "the industry" (oil), as we call it. I can't get there without a job that gets me by right now though, and my last second job was at Starbucks where I worked 4:30 am-1pm Tuesday-Saturday, then went to class. It killed me. This fits my needs perfectly.

1. Do you worry about your school administration/ other students finding out? If so, what do you do to keep this from happening?
It's never occurred to me to worry about this. What would happen if they knew? Maybe they'd think I'm a whore? Whatever. But also I'm an English major studying creative writing, so it's not like I'm killing my chances of being the first female president or anything.
I've blocked my state, but that was really just to make it harder for stalkers. The only change in my appearance is that in real life I don't wear make up nearly ever, and I don't think I've ever gone to school in panties and nothing else.
2. Will you be living in a dorm? By yourself or with a roomate(s)? How do you plan to do this while maintaining your privacy?
I have an apartment with my man, and I cam when he is at work (he works nights, and my classes are during the day. Also I've always been a big fan of one-day-a-week classes, and luckily English professors (my major) are big fans of them too.
3. What is your weekly $$ goal and how many hours are you going to work?
I need to make no less than $300/week, working approximately 15 hours a week. I am trying to work more hours though and hoping to raise that goal to over $400/week.
4. Are you going to include your camming income when applying for the fafsa/ financial aid?
Yes. I don't make enough for it to affect me negatively.
5. Do you ever worry about the long term effects of doing this and how it will impact your future career/academic opportunities?
Eh, sometimes. I'm on track for an MFA in creative writing though, and the arts are generally more forgiving than other fields in this world.

That is the main concern most college students like myself have is that how is this going to affect my future career. I am doing it to support myself.

I'm moving into a dorm and I don't rly want her knowing that I cam. Are there any tips for how I can cam in a dorm situation?

When I lived in a dorm, we literally shared a room. I take it that's not how your dorm is set up, otherwise camming wouldn't be an option unless your roomie wasn't around. What's the layout of the space? Do you know how thick the walls/doors are?

that is how it is lol that's why I'm kind of panicking we're in the same room like across from each other.

My dorm experience was the same as Shanna's. There is no way you could cam without her knowing about it while she's there. My roomie would sometimes spend the night in other places, so I then had the room to myself, but those occasions were far and few in between.

Figure out her schedule and make yours the opposite maybe? Invent a boyfriend overseas in case she walks in on you. There is no way it can not be awkward, esp if you are doing a fetish show of some sort, unless you can just brazen it out.

Defiantly try make your schedules opposite. I hope shes a partier so she stays out all night long. I would definatly try to plan to get a two bedroom apartment or possibly your own dorm room for the future.

I would honestly just strip. There was a cam girl on tumblr (I think her name was nsfwjynx or something) that actually got caught by her university and was told to stop doing it or else there would be consequences.
If she's a douche and figures it out you're getting expelled. NOT WORTH IT IMO. Even if you think she's not coming home. Then what about the walls. If someone stands outside the door and hears you.... Best of luck if you try it.

My advise will be to do voyeur shows with no audio but you still run the risk of being walked in on but at least you wont be heard.

Nocturnelle, you are so right. :) I was attending this "liberal" university in the bay area who throw out this great student because she did some porn. Many universities are not as liberal as many people think. However, I would say that being a stripper is a better professional for Co-ed in the dorms. You do not want your roommate nor other people finding out you are camming. You gave great advice :)

Most universities have policies about what you can use their network for. Camming would definitely be a no-go for a lot of them. Depending on the size of the school they probably won't come looking for you, but if your roomie decides to turn you in, they won't let it slide. So I would say, strip or phone sex until you can get your own place (and wifi).

Agreed with the above from Taylorgrrl! I'm a recent grad and my school (around 10,000 students total, so decent size) would ban any user found to be downloading porn 'in excess' from the wifi network. People had to log into the network with their school registered username and ID, so they know exactly what site you're using. People who torrented files would get emails the next day because the network would register exactly which file they torrented. I personally once got an email listing the exact song I had downloaded. They are super picky about things that aren't illegal. If they do that with torrents and porn, imagine getting caught camming! Plus, the info that's saved on the servers means they could conceivably see exactly what you're broadcasting down in IT. No. Thank you!
As for stripping? Equally unlikely to end well. If you go to school in a major city and strip there, the chances that you'll get other students or even professors coming into the strip club is high! You think they can't ruin you for running their mouths because they were in the strip club? Hell no! Having a penis makes strip club attendance totally fine, but if you're taking those clothes off yourself you should be blackmailed or exploited, of course. If you just want to do weekends and go out of area to the next major city, that risk reduces itself, but you'll be giving up a social life that normal college students get on weekends and have to explain your disappearances. Working on class nights might leave you too drained for classes/homework, too. I worked full time while I was in class and got my butt kicked doing it, hence that little warning.
Sexting (i.e. Arousr) could work since the website address (TelePass) isn't overtly sex work related and you could do it at a local Starbucks or something if you wanted to be extra careful. Phone sex is much the same--should be safe to do, assuming you don't need a land line connection, which dorms don't provide.
Long and short story? If you want to cam in college, you'd better live where you don't have a roommate and your own wifi.

^ I would disagree with Isabelle about stripping, at least about the ruination potential. I've danced and attended school in my city for two years with zero problems. I've had maybe five customers ever tell me that they were students at my university, but have never been recognized/called out. This might be due to the fact that I'm fairly anonymous at school by looking like every other ubiquitous tan blonde chick and not really socializing with the other students, though.
Otherwise, that's spot-on about it being exhausting. But my point is that if you want to strip in college, it's not inevitably going to be disastrous.
I hope you make money and get all As, OP!

if you don't want her to know, you will have to cam from a place off campus or something. it would be impossible to navigate around someone's schedule which can change at any moment. Even when you know what her class times are and all, she could skip class, come home early, have a cancelled lecture and pop in with 5 of her friends....etc. very very verrrrryyyyy necessary to consider.
if i were her and didn't want that kinda thing going on in my 5 foot away living space, there would be plenty of ways, unfortunately, to screw you over. Reporting to the RA, the university/counselors/dean/some punitive kind of group which would find you to be in violation of campus policies & internet, or whatever.
I wish I had a better suggestion, OP! I would like to see you rock it!

It's really good to see someone who didn't have the 'ruination' experience, as you put it, because I'm definitely only speaking from personal experience in what I said. I don't know if it was just my area/college specifically or what, but I had three girlfriends who stripped at the local club as well as at one about 30 minutes away and all of them experienced intense harassment (including 'ethics' meetings--total B.S.) by students/faculty who'd come in. Two of them 'dropped out' after a disciplinary/conduct board meeting found them in violation of the university ethos. Now, I will say that this was a private school, for full disclosure. I don't in any way claim to have the end-all-be-all knowledge on the subject, but I figure putting the worst case scenario out there for consideration isn't a terrible idea. Heck, there was a 'sex-presso' stand operating 1/2 a block from campus where girls from the school would work and male faculty/students regularly went by. The girl I knew wasn't expelled or disciplined, but she definitely complained of on-campus harassment.
I think this all just brings up the crucial point that the major thing to consider with stripping (and sex work in general) while in college is the specific university you plan to attend. State schools will be more lenient/not care from a disciplinary perspective because their charter probably wouldn't allow that sort of discrimination without a major lawsuit. Private, conservative, and/or religious schools (which mine constituted) will likely be much more harsh and judgmental. It's no different than the concern of being outed to your town in real life, or your family and friends, but it does hold the extra weight of possibly impacting your education. I'd liken it to working in sex work part time while holding a vanilla job. If your job is vanilla and you'd likely get fired, then secrecy is important. If the job wouldn't be impacted, then it's less so. College won't be any different, but the pros and cons are situation dependent.

I danced through university and only once did I ever come close to running into someone from school at the club, and I was able to just leave the club and totally avoid it. It's really a matter of knowing your city -- in mine, although it was certainly common for students to go to the strip clubs, there were 2 that were incredibly popular with the young crowd, and they tended to forget about the other clubs in the city. Knowing this, I avoided workin at the popular clubs and even the shifts young kids tend to go out on (Friday and Saturday nights) in the other clubs, just in case. Of course, if there's only one club in city or they're all right near campus, it's not so easy to avoid classmates!
