View Full Version : Why are you not verified?

Verify? WHAT? I have been away for a few months, and have no idea why or what it is. Honestly , i am private and anonymous. I don't link my cam name to this ever. This site is not earning me income, although it is wonderful. I don't verify myself, unless it has to do with pay. Sorry. I don't know who is behind this site (it is the INTERNET), and who my info would go to. I have a lot to contribute but verify is not my idea of security for a web based searchable forum. If there was a LOCKED area only for verified members, than, i would consider.
Nice being back.

Like you said Bam, why should we trust you either? I honestly did not sign up for your forum, due to the fact I do not trust that easy. Plus I feel you get into too many heated arguments, for me to even join. With that being said, I am also not trying to start arguing, and I feel we can discuss without it getting to that point.
I just feel why should anyone here trust people other than the admins, and yes, B you are also an admin, but a new one.
I am all for a verified section to post, and I am glad tinydancer clarified my main concern. Plus the "verified cam girls' icon is really cute! j/k just trying to be light here. No drama. Remember, no drama!

Ok ladies, I asked Bambalina to edit her post because I don't want to have to close yet another thread. I have to be honest and say that I have a shitty feeling about this thread. I will be keeping my fun police hat on and watching this thread ;)

Obviously people are split down the middle about this, and I hope the thread stays respectful, and positive. I think everyone has a right to their opinion, and I think it is safe to say some people would prefer verification by the owner, or mod. I hope we can all just be peaceful in our opinions. :)

Busty, I adore you! No rudeness taken at all.
As far as verification, like I said, I only added the boards with verification after being specifically asked, and posting a long thread with a poll and stuff...95% of the site is wide open. But I don't allow un-registered people to just read the boards...you must be registered to have access to MANY of them...
But either way, I just wish it was more "official" and part of the StripperWeb team that was doing the verifying.

I'm not so sure anymore...this pressure to 'verify' all does seem really random. I've found some great information on this forum through my own motivation and searching, and hopefully I've contributed something useful. I've always appreciated the openness of SW as well, but at the end of the day a lot of us are still strangers to each other, with our jobs being the only things we may have in common. I just don't feel like I have anything to prove, and that verifying is a moderator's job. I do applaud your efforts though h0ttie.

Ok just to reiterate what tinydancer said...
I will be the only one to see who you are. I also am not going to keep your picture or anything weird lol. Once I open the mail, check your picture, get your name and what site you work on I delete it.
I also want to say that I would never under any circumstances share any info you gave me. I respect everyones privacy so much. Even in my other thread about verifying when I had a problem with anyones stuff (such as my state being blocked, links not working, not being able to message on the site they gave me, etc) I told them I emailed them. I never posted the smallest info like "hey blahblah your streamate link doesn't work"...just because that would allow others to know a site you work on and..well thats your place to decide if you want to share that...not mine!
Even in the event that I became enemies with someone I verified and they talked shit about me every day 8 times a day ...I would still not tell anyone who they were. I'm not that kind of person. There is no circumstance that I would ever let anyone know who you are...even if you knew who I was and told the whole world..I still wouldn't. I already had a girl I am friends with on here asking me "omg [so and so] verified!?? who are they? I have been dying to know!" Of course I didn't tell her and will never. Like I said I respect everyones privacy.
Also...I want to say I wish someone more "reputable" was doing the verifying. I wish one of the admins would do it. I wish a girl who was at least a moderator would do it. But that hasn't happened and the topic of "this should be private" is discussed so often and is never solved. So this is the solution we have for now. It's the best I can do...and I think its pretty OK. I am glad that a lot of girls have trusted me already and I hope more will also see that I have no interest in drama, or no interest in who you are (other than making sure that you are a real cam girl).

This all the way. Tbh, I tend to stay out of this particular sub forum because it hasn't really yielded anything as of late. Nothing I don't already know and nothing that hasn't been answered at least 10 times before.
And to be quite frank, I don't think these steps would be necessary at all if people were a little more discerning with the information they share (both business and personal). Yes, it's quite therapeutic to fellowship, but you can't have it both ways.

I prefer not to verify because I only share who I am with, with people I select to know for whatever reason. It is great that there is something like this for those willing to verify though.
But I am a real cam girl. I promise. And Im okay with making do with the open areas of the board...they have served me well so far.
Now that that's settled...who wants to show me pictures of their feet?! :D

I think it's wonderful that we have this verification system in place for those who want it, and I'm glad to see that a lot of us are getting verified. But anonymity is very important to some posters, and some just do not feel comfortable verifying to h0ttie. And that's fine, no one should have to do something they aren't comfy with. I don't think we should make our unverified posters feel like they're not in an exclusive clique or like we don't trust them. If there's another reason to doubt that they are a cam girl, them being unverified could be something to think about. But for most members, they just have personal reasons to be cautious with their info, and we should respect that.

For those wondering why a mod isn't doing the verifying it's probably because we didn't come up with the idea. I have no problem with lending a hand to verifying. I'm pretty sure almost EVERYONE knows who I am by now or where to find me between my pics in the Pictures section, my website, my blog, my BDSM blog, my camming twitter, my BDSM twitter, my SM, AW, MFC and the fact that my name is right out in the open on this board and in my signature which links to all these accounts. Honestly if you don't feel comfortable verifying to me, someone that hides NOTHING about her camming I really don't know who you would feel comfortable with. :P

Here is the thing...and I am not trying to be rude at all. I KNOW Hottie is thorough (sp?) and that is why I joined this group. I feel genuinely safe with her doing the verification. I don't know who Hottie is. I have never asked her to verify herself to me (though I have taken a couple of guesses and been dead wrong ;) ).
I feel like since it is her group she needs to be the verifier and if anyone doesn't want her to verify to her than too bad for them. We all had to do it. It's only fair that everyone has to verify to her.
If someone else is doing verification, I want to know about it. I am not trying to be a spoiled brat, but I really don't want to post in here unless I know that it is her that is doing the verification. So far she has been nothing but fair, discreet, and very thorough.
I joined hottie's group...if i wanted someone else to verify I would have joined their group.
Honestly, safety is my biggest concern here and I want there to be the same verification standards for every member.
NOTHING against Aria at all. :)

No worries, the group is HOTTIES BABY *hands in the air backing away slowly*. All I'm saying is that if people prefer a mod and HOTTIE were to ask a mod to lend a hand to help verify those people, I have no problem helping her out. That's ALL I meant. And since ppl were saying "but who the hell is this h0ttie chick we don't even know who she is!" Well lots of you guys know who I am and have even visited me in my cam rooms. THATS ALL! I think (no offense!) people would be more comfortable with Aria doing the verifications because she has a google-able online presence and is also a mod. It seems like most people don't know too much about h0ttie, myself included.

If more girls are willing to become verified if Aria verifies them, I think this is a good thing. I guess you're against the idea so you can keep trying to start bitch fights with well-known members on here.
Anyways, there are a lot of well-known girls on here who have said they would join the group, but they don't feel comfortable sharing their identity with someone they don't know. I think Aria should do the verifying unless h0ttie feels comfortable verifying herself to anyone who asks. I don't need to know who h0ttie is, but I know there are girls' who would rather verify to someone who is open about who they are.

I should've gotten a free pass for using my camname as my SN here :P I honestly don't give a damn about those who are or aren't verified, but as mentioned, it's nice to have a little more peace of mind, given that this is the bloody internet and all. It's just another way to not be completely surprised if another Alexa Dicarlo shows up. -shrug-
Personally, I like using variations of my names everywhere, so you can tell, anywhere I am, that I'm definitely -me-, it's just easier if everything's not webbed together. I'd give examples, but that would provide the middle of the web o3o

Idk, I kind of just started paying attention to all of this verification stuff. I'm on the fence. Am I one of the few who doesn't have a seperate persona? I don't mind verifying if anyone is in doubt as to who I am, but on the other hand I rebel strongly at some of the insinuations that I'm reading. I enjoy the forum, reading...contributing where I can and I don't want people questioning my intentions or identity. On the other hand...I feel like who cares? I'm not a drama starter, I contribute when and if I can...is it really that serious? I guess it is...smh. I kind of think if you are going to ask as many girls as you can to verify, that you should take off the post requirements. Only my humble opinion, of course...and I probably don't have enough posts to verify.

To me it's just a little extra thing that you can choose to participate in after you've got a lotta posts and want to have a more private place to post certain things that maybe we don't want a cam customer to see.
I still think the majority of the posts will be out in the open so I really don't think it's that big of a deal. I normally just hit "view new posts" and read what interests me.

Well, I did try to verify but I do not meet the post requirements...=( Alot of people already know who I am and some don't. I do rarely post and just read and will talk through PM's to people if I want to say something. I usually post if I have something valuable to say or to joke around but when it gets to catty or negative here, I dip off in my lala land..lol
I still think verification is a good thing for just at least knowing that we are who we say we are....does not matter if you are a woman just interested and want to know or a Vet but just that you are not some guy or stalker was why and my only reason for liking the idea. =)
I personally do not care for having the post requirements but that is the rules for the group so it is what it is....lol
I do like the idea of one well know person or moderator who does not get caught up in lots of catty behavior being here to verify for those who may feel more comfortable with that but again that is just an opinion. ( That does not mean any thing towards Hottie, I did verify with her and she is cool, I mean so everyone can feel comfortable)

MUCH appreciated..seriously! Do like the point of view that its a bonus feature, which includes a private area.... And you know, with that in mind, I would *love* to be a part of something like that. Ive got all the credentials to prove I belong there :D
But to have read in the other thread that for some, they would feel little better about reading posts from those who are verified as opposed to those who chose not to...essentially creating a divide like that between who is in and who isn't just doesnt seem fair....

I chose to be verified because I wanted a place to eventually discuss certain topics without feeling like random lurkers are reading. I stay to myself for the most part, so I don't feel like that my decision "brands" me to a clique at all. I only post here when I see something that I can help with. I may be here for two hours, reading and catching up, but then not return for another month.
As of lately, I have wanted to bond with other cam models. I even mentioned a convention or mini-vacation type of meet and greet idea. Marleysade, for example, invited me into her Yahoo chat and I am grateful. Why? Because sometimes it sucks not having friends or co-workers to share my job related interests with.
I just wanted to share my personal reasons :)

And remember not to take this too too seriously.
I have ppl from here that I talk to on my personal messenger and skype. But they were able to earn that level of trust with me because they talked to me for ages and have a solid online presence. If a lesser known person from here asks me to add them they are more likely to get a yes from me if I know they are verified. So that when we have in depth fetish convos when they say they're new to BDSM and want to learn I know it's actually a new camgirl. That I can barely find her online because she has only been working on her first site for a month. Not because she is some creepy dude trying to get their rocks off on my messenger.

Really I don't give a shit. Most of the stuff I share on here I would say to customers. Plus I have shared with you all my cam IDs a few times. I don't have to prove anything to anyone. Part of the reason why I like being a cam girl is that I feel like I don't have to be accountable to anyone. Personally this whole "verified" thing to me spells clique. I don't like what is going on in terms of critiquing other women who choose not to verify. To those who think that girls who don't verify have something to hide....lol go believe whatever the hell you want. At the end of the day it does not effect me.
My only concern with posting so much information on a public board is newbies and over saturating the market. But then again in some respects we are not all competing for the same dollar. For example a guy who is into thin black girls is not necessarily going to spend a ton of $$$ on a BBW white chic. Although he may get curious one day and give her a try!
Right now I am on a ban on streamate again. So I have some time on my hands to ponder these things.

The private group is active and there are already some threads in there with really great, highly valuable info that won't be posted in public. There will be more to come ;D
So if you're a real live camgirl and haven't verified, get your ass in gear and get in there!

I want to say that I hope my last option in the poll of "I'm not really a camgirl, I am a creepy man" was not taking as a stab at anyone who doesn't want to verify. It's just a joke but maybe people are misunderstanding it?
Also the purpose of the group is not to make those that don't want to verify feel bad. Would I love everyone to verify?--yes. Am I mad at or do I think any less of those that choose not to?--no.
I have said this before but I will say it again. This thread was not started to say there was anything wrong with not verifying, but instead to hear your reasoning for your choice. Not in a "wtf is wrong with you, tell me why you don't want to verify" way. But in a nice way :). And also to make sure that there were not girls who wanted to join but didn't like the verification process itself.
:grouphug: group hug for EVERYONE!! not just the verified girls :P

Personally this whole "verified" thing to me spells clique.
Nah, it's just that having all our insider info in public is bad for business for 2 reasons:
- We're teaching our competition how to better compete with us. Too easy for people to just grab our valuable advice without contributing anything.
- Too easy for customers to read our insider info, and you can be sure they do. They don't need to be privy to all our hustle strategies, for example. Really bad for business.
I have a shitload of really good info to share that I just won't post in public. I don't mind sharing it with other camgirls who also share information (in fact I really like doing it), but I'm just not going to give away all my info that I've worked fucking hard to learn to the whole world. I know a lot of girls feel the same way. That's why the verified group came about. Nothing whatsoever to do with clique-ing up.
Obviously those who participate in a group are bound to get to know each other better and form closer bonds, but it's not like we think we're "better" or more "exclusive" or anything like that. It isn't personal.
Ya, there are different markets but there are limits to the spending in each market. There is only so much to go around, period. Oversaturation is an issue no matter what.

Let me start by saying, my biggest issue is the banners. THIS IS SINGLING PEOPLE OUT! If you are part of the "restricted group" why do you need the rest of us to visually see your really a cam girl? If we are so concerned about real vs creepers, we should ask that the site consider a verification process.
I have my twitter, blog, and FB in my signature. All have links to my camsites. If you still don't think I'm a real cam girl, stop by my room and ask me a question regarding SW (although with all the drama recently i haven't been reading). I don't block models from my cam room, so please come check me out, keep me company. However, If you step outta line I will report you. I don't play games.
I was once a no-name forum stalker who wasted hours of my days, weeks, and months searching and reading these forums to find helpful information. Now I try to contribute to topics and be as helpful as my knowledge will allow, but I mainly come here for the advise and helpful threads. Because I don't want to "verify" with someone that I am a real camgirl I am missing out on helpful forums? Whatever. I don't understand how this isn't clique-ish, or how ladies aren't supposed to feel less quality by not having a silly banner in their signature.
h0ttie, you are a great contributor to this forum! This post is in no way an attack on you or your mission. I'm just tired of reading numerous thread regarding the same mission. There doesn't need to be a slip in the forum. Post wisely and use discretion and no one will get too much information.
Imma creepy man. Who's with me?
I <3 it! Can I please get one of the verified creeper banners?
