I am in school as well, plus clinical hours for my major, stripping, and starting again in march, my day job (it is seasonal because it is renting out canoes/kayaks). I'm just tired all the time, but I know it is do-able

I have a class and dance but 2-3 times a week... My rent is high due to a new place. Even only working 2-3 hours at a SC, I get brunt out. I dont have enough time to do both.. When I do, my whole place gets into a mess - big pet peeve and I like a clean place (a boyfriend and 2 dogs arent making it cleaner) on top of that, we're trying to cook/prepare meals every night which takes so much time.... Ughh now I have a messed up sleeping pattern.. I hope I get used to this soon and work a better organization out.

Yeah once my schedule for school is set and not so up in the air I'm going to organize a work schedule for myself and when I'll have days off. It'll only be like this until may though so that should keep me motivated!
I am going to bookmark this thread. I don't have the time at this moment to read all 5 pages, swamped in homework.
Anywho, don't know if this has already been discussed in this thread but I was wondering if anyone else out there doesn't like talking about the details of the future profession you are studying for with your clients. I let my clients know that I am in school, but I don't tell them what for right away. I am afraid to. I am afraid that one day my stripping career will come bite me in the ass once I am out in the vanilla world. I know that most of my men just want know out of general curiosity what it is I am studying. However, my future career is based on creditably and I am afraid to get labeled otherwise due to harsh and unnecessary stereotypes.
I also want to praise all the women who are dancing and going to school. What a great opprotunity we have!! Not too many people are blessed with the ability to work part-time and potentially make a full-time income. I truly and deeply respect those, like me, that work towards their future by going to school.
Studying is such hard work. But I believe it will pay off for each and every person that put their mind to what they want to do. It doesn't matter what field you are studying, just that you are learning!
I am looking forward to having the free time to go through and read this entire post. I sure do need support and encouragement!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one having issues with anxiety! I have big financial goals, and work 4-5 days a week at the club, most often 5. I just want to be done already...but when I look at how much left I have to go, I get so overwhelmed. At least another year and a half, if not 2 years, and I've already done SO much, 32 credits last term (my school is online, and accelerated). I'm in economics now and I just don't understand most of it..I've gotten some help from the prof, but I'm still having issues and I rather be at work/sleep/hang out with my dog than pick up my stupid economics crap. I did about 45 mins today and I almost got a panic attack. I've always had such anxiety with school, that I dropped out twice, but I feel like even when I get my degree, I dont want to stop dancing until I absolutely have to, and build my freelance makeup business more- so I feel like I'll never even use my degree. UGHGHGH.

I just finished my finance class that I had the most trouble with and passed with a 3.0. I was stressing so badly but all the studying and effort put in, was deff worth it since I failed it 2 times already! I also got accepted into my Finance/Marketing program for Sept. Now its just depressing 4 months of stripping FML. Cant wait to be in school again, I miss it already!
Why don't you take summer classes??
I'm in fashion too, and getting school done is sooo hard. I'm doing awful this semester and might have to retake a few classes. I'm at school 9 hours a day m-f, and friday saturday and sunday I'm working. It's so tough and I'm so stressed all the time.

I'll be going back to school this summer and dancing full-time (my first time) super nervous about balancing the two but determined to make it work. I'm only taking 2 classes (both 2 hours a day monday-thursday) but I'm hoping I can manage my time wisely enough to get it done. I'll DEFINITELY be on this thread a LOT lol

Blahhhh. Trying to write my last paper. On page 1 of 12 -.- Whoops. Have to write 11 paragraphs after that in response to the semester's readings. Just a French final after that, then I'm free! Good luck to everyone with finals coming up.

i'm loving how many designers there are on this thread! <3!! I'm the opposite of botm I really put dancing on the back burner this year in an effort to build up my portfolio with some really awesome work and experiences, but I am sooo looking forward to going on a working spree soon and having work be my main priority for a few months. Planning on travelling a bit over the summer and working on designing 3 collections in my spare time. After a year of hell I'm greatly looking forward to slowing the pace down a notch, taking my sweet ass time enjoying the things I enjoy in life, and doing what I do best. This next year and a bit is going to be so important, so many oppourtunities, gotta get my rest and fill the bank over the summer! :) Anyone else actually stoked to be done school and able to focus on work and personal life? I miss being in the routine of working regularly, I feel so much more productive and useful.

Hi ladies, yesterday morning I graduated from my beloved, private, four year prestigious, expensive college. My schooling was expensive and I stripped for three of the four years I was there in order to avoid crushing debt. I might have missed out on a few parties in favor of working but I was lucky to find clubs that did not require me to put in a schedule. As I look forward to my vanilla career and applying to graduate schools I am so glad to have reaped the benefits dancing can have for a full time student and I will stay on the pole for a few more years it seems like.
YAY, I did it is basically the self involved point of this post, hehe.

Congrats to all of the college bound ladies!! :) I graduated a few months ago and am so glad that I went back and did it! After years of starting and stopping i pushed myself to the limit. It is hard to find a balance between work/school/sleep. Keep your head up and my best advice is to eat good!! And try to sleep as much, when you can.

I'm in college now and not yet stripping. I've signed up for midday classes next fall and I'm planning to take summer off to transition from my $10/hour receptionist job to a job as a dancer. It'd be nice to graduate without a lot of debt. =]

I'm taking 16 hours this Fall, all online, just finished 6 hours of summer school and have a 4.00 GPA as of now! I would LOVE to keep this up! I wish there was a way to dance and not drink....
Not to brag or to be rude, but I never drink at work. And do not understand why other girls do. Men are the ones who come to the club to relax, but we are there to WORK!!! It's kinda different. When a custie asks me if I want anything, I say orange juice and many, many of them are fine with that. If I feel pressure from a customer who is REALLY spending on me, then I would order a glass of wine and pretend to drink it by taking sips so small it does not affect me. After customer leaves, I just give that wine glass back to the bar in exchange for club soda or water to flush those bits of alcohol out. I just don't wanna get waisted or even tipsy, as it can lead to loosing money, not getting enough money for work done, being fooled by both custies and colleagues.

I should start posting in here, definitely need support staying focused. I'm taking 12 units this summer and dancing about 3-4 nights a week. Getting a BS in IT Management and I already have completed all the classes for my minor in Chemistry. I have about 1.5-2years left depending on my pace. It's really hard to stay focused on my nights off, I'm a huge procrastinator ughh. Just trying to power through this last paper for my ethics class by this sunday and I really have no motivation :/

Not to brag or be rude but Ive made $40k/ yr for the last 3 years off a customer that likes you to drink with him and sipping off a glass of wine isnt gonna work... We all have our own techinques and all power to you for being sober, but Ive had $10k handed to me in cash 3x in the last 2 years for being a party girl. People dont wanna party with someone sober. Maybe try it one day.... being the party girl bc I can promise JD is a hustler who knows the power of shot shots shots shots shots shots...

I did thread jack this post when I was saying something completely off topic. I admit that is a not nice thing to do. You obviously don't by your off topic comment on my comment. This is The Stripping+School Support thread, not The Stripping+Getting Drunk Support Thread. I think you are not getting the concept fully. It is not getting drunk that made you money. Trust me, you are not the only stripper who gets "shots, shots, shots, shots.......". You customers for sure liked you a lot better than any other girl who was drinking with him. Getting drunk is not a clue to making big bucks. As I said, I doubt you are the only "party girl" at your club.......To stay on topic, hangovers really help you concentrate in class in the morning and getting wasted from shots makes you big bucks at work!!! Cannot agree more:-D

^ I simply was pointing out that the point of the thread is to be supportive not conscending. I met your post with a similar tone. You are not the only person studying. We all have our own ways of working and studying and balancing both. Yes I drink at work that's why I work thurs, fri, sat and then have a fresh mind for my classes in my second degree, now halfway to becoming a veterinarian. I've worked sober and I've worked drunk and I've worked inbetween. You could have phrased your post in a moe helpful way that's all I'm saying.

How is the fall semester going for everyone? I missed my second class today (too bad both misses were in the same class!) Need to crack down, its just hard to go to that class after working all night Thursday. We don't close until 4 or 5 am, so morning class is rough

Brag post (sorry) -
I have graduated, I have a job in my field that I love and I have been "off the pole" for about 4 months. I told myself that if I missed it after 6 months I would work a night or two a week. So maybe I will but I am so glad that I stripped my way through undergrad.
Big props and hugs to you all.

Just started my final year of uni and oh boy, this year is gonna be tough. Thank god I have a good schedule, only have school wed-fri so I plan on taking friday nights off to do something fun, dancing saturdays, working my vanilla job mondays, and having sundays and tuesdays free for homework and cleaning and errands so I can just focus wed-friday. Hoping this works well and I will still have my sanity come xmas! ^congrats on the transition into your career kat and finishing up your undergrad :)
