I've moved, and my banking info is different, so I'm assuming I'm SOL now unless I can figure out how to contact him.

If we're counting 225 days from when I received my email (August 28th)...
August 28th is the 240th day of the year.
240th day + 225 days = 465
465-365 = 100
100th day of the year = April 10th.
The 225 days will be up on April 10th. Write it down on your calendar.
(someone check my math).
Loveshooks reminded me of this site in another thread - so bumping it as in 2days you guys should be getting paid. If he committed to a day to pay you all and fails to do so, you all do have a legal recourse.

Even if we can't find his contact info anywhere?

^dude that sucks I completely missed that - you could petition his domain host to disclose his contact info, per ICANN rules they have to if there is a legal matter but I wish I had better e-lawyer skills to advise what that would specifically be.
Ive only done that for a DMCA and C&D for a guy that had his forum info anonymized and it was successful bc the domain host disclosed his info immediately - but those two things are all I know about, Im sorry :( ,maybe someone will chime in

Why can't you press criminal charges? It's fraud. Or, report it to the FBI Cyber Crime unit.

Technically you have a reason to sue for breach of contract, assuming the contract you signed said you were going to be paid for services on the website. However, my assumption is that most girls are looking at being owed very small amounts, and the money it would take to pursue any legal action would be greater than what most girls are owed. Therefore, it would be nearly pointless to sue because it would cost a lot of money to hire an attorney and go through the legal process. A bunch of girls could get together for a class action, but even then the attorney still has to be paid and no attorney is going to take on a case such as this unless they are reasonably certain they would be able to collect if they won.
Suing a person or business is one thing, collecting on that is an entirely different ball game that most people do not even consider. If the money is not there, it's just not there. If the person or business has no assets, its even more not there. All that's there is a judgement and no way to collect on it.
You could attempt to press charges for fraud, but "fraud" where the law is concerned has to meet certain requirements to be classified as such, and in this instance it would be very hard to prove that there was malicious or fraudulent intent.
Most likely, the guy start SMW and ended up essentially "bankrupt" after the issues he ran into and could not pay his contracts. I think it's pretty safe to say his intent was never to start a website, get girls to sign up and make money, and then run off with their earnings. Therefore, proving fraudulent intent would be nearly impossible.
I have been following this also so it will be interesting to see if anyone is paid come April 10th. Fingers crossed!

So when is it that we are "supposed" to get paid??
I was thinking about this site the other day...
I hope we do get paid but my negative part of me tells me this guy already went partying to Vegas and spent all our money..lol
Please if anybody knows anything let us know!!

It's the easiest thing to prove. Did she work? Yes. Was she paid? No. That is fraud. Just because there is a contract, signed by both parties, does not mean that this is not fraud. The way she described it (I don't know the details of the others' who worked there, whether they ever got paid or not), that is clearly intentional. There are a lot of companies out there, in this industry, getting away with this same type of fraud and how they keep getting away with it is simple: noone ever does anything about it. Can't afford to sue? Refuse to report it (even though you have absolute proof). Alright then, they will continue to get away with it. I've seen it too much and it disgusts me.

I'm just going off what I've learned in my law classes, taught by attorneys and law professors..... not what wikipedia has to say. So that's just my understanding of the situation and the facts.
As a disclaimer, I wasn't trying to pin point what you said specifically, so please don't take it that way. I don't think anyone wants to see us go at it again. ;)

Did anyone get paid today from this?

^ I had been using a friend's American bank acct to get paid; after the site went down her and I lost touch, so I highly doubt I'll see my SMW money either way.
Hopefully she got a nice little deposit into her account today though. <3
Can anyone else let us know if they got paid??

one thing that really really gets on my nerves is when I remember how a couple girls on that site used to defend it so much and talk great things about them...
I even think some said they got paid at some point.. then when the site shut down it turned out that no girls got paid or only one and there was a delay.....
I hate when sites take advantage of girls like this.... pisses me off!

Eeep. I was totally one of those girls. But to be totally honest, I *did* get paid. It took a little longer than was expected, but I DID cashout quite a bit. I lost money when the site went down too, but up until then everything was great for me. I really did like that site..

MGF always has a way of knocking out the competition. i almost signed up with that myself when it first came about, including VLA too. i am so sorry that u ladies got fucked over on this in the end. after all the fiasco surrounding VLA and SMW, it taught to never sign up with new and unestablished sites ever. - but the double negative to that is if no one ever signs up to a new site then they will never become established. i guess in the end, you gotta weigh ur own options and see if ur investment is worth the risks. unfortunately with new sites, there is always a known risk factor for the simple fact that they are new. they could either blossom and become extremely amazing or they could fold and run away with all ur money. i am not saying that it is right for them to do that but unfortunately that is just the way the business world works period. you win some, you lose some but in the end you have learned some valuable business lessons from it all. all you can do now is move on and better ur own business from it. in all the mistakes that we make in this business, something valuable always comes from it. it is never truly wasted even if u majorly lost out monetarily.

Well said, bubblegumbitch! I was one of the girls bringing massive traffic to SMW - a lot of them stayed loyal to me after the site went down, and followed me on to MFC / MGF. Worth it, to me. Every site gives you something!

I still can't believe this place went down the way it did....
Admin seemed to be a nice dude and the worst part was he didn't even let anyone know after all the crap the majority of us did for him...
Sorry to hear no one got paid.. I didn't either in the end. I rode it off a LONG time ago..
What goes around comes around though - what money we had in that site is probably going towards legal fees and such.

Not sure if u girls knew but it seems Camgoals is gonna shut down cause Oh surprise... MGF is doing the same thing they did to SMW... crazy uh??
A member who used to follow me at camgoals found me in a different site and told me about it, I m not surprised at all actually.... unbelievable how greedy some sites can be.
