I'd recommend asking in https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?160099-How-to-sign-up-for-sites-directly-to-earn-more-(aka-avoid-studios) as Roast regularly checks that thread and is the studio guru

pardon my disgust at the "accounts in studios are protected" line. Yeah, studios need all the protection they can get ::)
Roast (resident studio guru extraordinaire) wrote elsewhere recently that deals with your questions, and the gist is that getting released and how long it will take until you can sign up independently varies from studio to studio. Some studios really are more 'protected' by the sites than others.
Probably the worst I've read about here is internetm0delling (I used a zero instead of an 'o' because the correctly spelled word is blocked here due to persistent hard core spamming by that company), so I really hope for your sake it wasn't that particular studio.
Is your solo account with sm still open? I know you posted the response from sm that "You are not able to just close the account and make a new one. The account must be released and closed by the studio before we can approve any new account for you. Please contact your studio account manager to see if they will close and release your account with them. Thank you", but sm support is known for giving fairly obtuse responses...it's possible the person who responded doesn't realize you have an independent account (assuming your independent account is still open)? If your independent account is still open I'd take that as a hopeful sign.
What I would do if I was you would be to wait for some informed advice from Roast, and in the meantime don't even log into your studio account, let alone stream from it.
I've got my fingers crossed for you, good luck chica

I'm sorry to be a pain in the ass by posting yet another question
No need to apologize! Hey the community is a guru (but thx guys), a lot of people have some direct insight into leaving studios which I have to say I dont (all of it is second hand) so it is a group effort!
To echo loveshooks - if youre comfortable saying the studio youre in, some are easier to leave than others. If your enot, no worries, you may want to search the forum for names in case you find someone talking about the same studio. The one that is a bitch to leave is often internet modeling dot com (they used to spam SW so much that the site banned their name from even being typed, lol ouch), but people here have definitely left it. If youre in a different one and are at all in contact with your studio manager.... some people have been released from their studios by simply asking (usually theyre inactive for awhile or something). Loveshooks covered it Im honestly just repeating her haha
Do you know how much time has passed between when you signed up for the studio and now? Have you streamed yet from that account or?
Oh also, when youre in the US I believe youre immediately put on weekly pay, like with no 3week delay (SM experts definitely may need to correct me here).

So...Just a little update on my situation.
I can't seem to close my goddamn account. I contacted Streamate, like Daily Pay's site says to do, asking them to close the account. As I'd expected, they said that I needed to ask the studio to do so. I asked IM to close my account, and they said:
Per your request, we have closed your model account XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX with IM.com. I want to personally thank you for working with us, and you are always welcome to come back in the future if you change your mind.
So, I wanted to make sure it was closed on Streamate, but then I saw I was able to sign in on their site! I can't sign in on IM.com but I can on Streamate.
Any idea what the next step should be? I don't understand how models have successfully gone from IM to Daily Pay...I messaged one of the girls you mentioned, roast, but she just referred me to DP's links that I was following in the first place.
So...I'm a little lost.

^DailyPay told you to cntact Streamate in order to be released from IM? Or di dyou just follow the procedure where it says to close your account? Bc on the dailypay site they changed their instructions for how *independent* models can sign up for DailyPay, not those trying to transfer from a preexisting virtual studio to DP (they used to have a link saying how to do that but it apparently now no longer exists). Ugh, Im sorry that is very obviously not the process, sorry someone just sent you links. If you want to add me a s a friend, PM me after you add me who told you to just follow certain links so I know who is/who isnt giving direct stories for how they left IM bc some ppl may not be as available to give direct feedback on their process as they used to (no fault to them, I just dont check in regularly).
I think IM just simply released you? Id actually at thi spoint suggest you contact Vanessa t
[email protected], and confirm with her that youre an independent model as she's the recruiter/representative fo rindependent models and has to check (manually) for each model who contacts her if theyre even available for her services. If you are - then youre free and clear to be earning 35%. If she says she cant help, youre probbaly still in iIM. Let us know what happens?
Sorry for all of the bouncing around, this is unfortunately an imperfect process. But if you keep us in the loop we all can try to support you as much as possible. Im hoping IM just simply released you and that is the end of this cycle.

ITS A DAMN TRICK. Your email and everything used will be detected in the system. DO NOT SIGN IN. They will trace you and send you BACK to the studio. Then you have to quit all over again, the email release etc.
Message me and I will give you the link to a very sweet model who this happened to. She is now with DP. I worked with her through this. She is a very sweet girl, very southern voice so if you actually speak on the phone with her, trust me , she likes to talk ;) as all southern girls do so im sure she will give YOU her number. I am sending her a text now to look in her sm inbox when you email me. I will tell her everything you have written here. ITS THE EXACT SAME STORY.

The irony is , Im disgusted with it as well.
For instance, a STUDIO friend had a male model on her account. He signed in recently, ALMOST a year had passed, his account was on stand by and had to contact the studio to broadcast. She nicely re activated his account and in the same email to him said she would release him to SM. (from what she told me and I WITNESSED it , he logs in and gets zero shows, does not try, etc etc, one of those who thinks the camming is easy just sit on your ass money, he embarrasses her being in the studio. She released him to SM, let them deal with his drama , he cries, complains etc)
SM gave him the hardest time and kept sending him back to her studio bc of contract when both contacted SM. She said it was like giving plasma <--LOL

I followed this link, that I had seen before and was directed to by one of the girls you mentioned (I'll PM you about that): http://adultworkwebcammers.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=32 It states there "If you already have a Streamate account or your leaving a studio to join us follow these steps:............"
Since I was leaving a studio, I figured this would be ok. It was not clear to me whether I should have contacted SM or IM to close my account, but after submitting a ticket and receiving no reply for over a week (I realize this PrincessJenny guy is insanely busy, having browsed the DP forums), but I decided to try closing with SM. They of course sent me to IM, and after I commented here on their reply just the other day, I contacted SM to verify that the account has been closed...to which they said:
"The account under
[email protected] is currently open. We are able to close the account for you, but this does not mean that you will be free to set up a new account. Please let us know if you just want the account closed."
So now I'm totally thinking I'm fucked.
Here's how I know that IM did not simply release me: I had tried to close my account as soon as I signed up and got approved, before broadcasting, by contacting Vanessa and closing with IM (I had received the same message from IM back then too), and Vanessa said I'm still under contract and that all IM can do is simply take me "offline." I tried arguing that I didn't even broadcast, but she said there was nothing she could do. That is how I know I can't sign up as an independent model.
It's just not clear to me what the protocol is for leaving a studio and switching to DP...I feel like I'm going around in a circle...

Hi girls. I seem to be having some problems with SM regarding the %... I'm getting 30% even though I signed up directly with SM. I mailed them and this is what they answer:
"As an individual performer, you are able to determine your own per minute pricing between .99 and 4.99/min. You earn 30% of what you bill. There is not a way to change this."
I wanted to register with internetmodelling, but luckly they didn't accept registrations from my country (Romania), so I just managed to do it directly with SM. Why am I not receiving the 35%? :|
Thanks for your support, I'm absolutely in love with the forum btw! :)

Hi SunnyAlice
With a direct SM account, you would most definitely (ultimately, once you email them) be able to offer rates as high as 12.99 (maybe higher?), not 4.99 as a maximum.. whoever emailed you would be happy to communicate this to you (in my opinion, some may feel differently)..
What specific link did you use to sign up? There are several affiliate and white label sites that operate as studios for SM, some very cleverly named...
See what the other girls say, they will probably have some more input and advice.
Mine would be to apply to other camsites, try them all out perhaps with an intention to split-cam and, if you are with a studio, find a way to negotiate an increase in your rates with them to make up for the percentage loss you seem to be facing.
What I mean to say is, don't worry... you'll still be able to make a success of your work whatever the outcome!
Much love and best wishes for your hustle babe !
ciao X

I looked through my emails and see I've signed up with Streamate Limited Support <

Unfortunately youre in a region of the world where Streamate only allows you to earn 30%, not 35%. Itd be easier if they just explicitly said this but only models in certain countries can earn 35% independently. There is no logic or rhyme or reason to it. You signed up the right way, absolutely though. Im really sorry.

No problem - if youre interested in DP, be aware that the admin of DP says that it takes him 7days to get to emails, so you may want to sit on it.
I dont know all of the countries where it is 30% unfortunately but it tends to (verifiably) be *most* countries in Eastern Europe and South Asia. Id wager it includes sub-Saharan Africa, South America, and central America (except US territories) but I dont have confirmation on that.
30% is based off of the country where you currently reside (so thehome address that you plug in during your application) however if your IDs are from those areas, you may want to check on your first pvt show if youre getting 30% or 35% as we had soemone who is an Eastern European national living in the US who discovered she was earning 30% when she should not have been (they corrected it after she pointed it out, but didnt pay her retroactively). If your location is France you should be OK. However, if you join DailyPay as a way to leave - be aware that youll be earning 30% bc the service pays you every 24hrs.

Cool! I couldn't find my topic after I posted it, so I thought it had been deleted. I didn't realize it had been moved here. The studio I signed with is called wet juicy models. The e mails from this studio say "woody inc". Once I found this forum and realized my mistake, I signed in directly to streamate; and not the studio. I joined the studio and streamate on 6/10/13. I still have both of my confirmation e mails.
I spoke with people in chat on here, and they told me to have streamate cancel my account, then sign up through daily pay. I have joined the daily pay forum, but haven't done anything else so far. I wasn't sure if there'd be any kind of waiting period for streamate, after leaving the studio. So I wanted to be sure of that, before I did anything.

Hmm Woody Inc isnt really the same animal as Internet Modeling - you may not have to sign up with DailyPay, DailyPay is kind of the kneejerk response to SM studios but that option is really not as super effective as it seems (increasingly so). You probably can leave much easier than other performers.
Which did you join first, Woody or Streamate? If you can sign in through your independent account youre honestly probably good to go and dont need to sign up for another studio (DailyPay is a studio) to leave it.

If my independent account was deactivated... what is the best way to get back on? Should I e mail SM customer service, or create a new account?

I was worried theyd closedown your independent account - you definitely earned *something* on it right? You may need to start alll over with a new email address and stage name. The stagename can be similar to previous one so if your stage name was "RoastCamGirl" it just cant be the exact same configuration of letters, itd have to be like "Roast_CamGirl" or "RoastCamgirl_" and a new email addy
You should at this point email Vanessa, she only works with independent models -
[email protected] - the email domain looks studioish but she can only work with independent models and works for Streamate. Perhaps reference your other model account (include the email address, name, model # if you have it you used to sign up for that one). It is possible the studio absorbed what you earned before, but hopefully not!
Keep us posted

Going by the timestamp here it has been 6days, you need to wait another one. In your original email did you tell him your exact issue concisely and what you need directly to the point? Like: Subject: Transitioning from a Streamate Studio Content: I am stuck in an studio and need to transition to DailyPay or Weekly pay (weekly pay if possble) in order to receive a higher payout percentage. My stagename and signup email there is: [this] and [that]. I currently reside in [country youre in] and am a [where your citizenship is] national. Please advise on how to proceed.
He's easily stressed out from what Ive seen so just getting straight to the point is probably good. Hive him another 24hrs, then send a reminder email. If you get a response from that one in a few days - it honestly may be a bust. DP is not as relable a "transition from SM studios" reference as it used to be, so hopefully we can figure out alternatives until then, idk if we can though so hope this works. Ive heard of him rejecting people from certain countries, so that isnt the case here.
Please keep working on other sites until something happens bc this case has a few overlapping issues that makes this tough (not your fault in the slightest), so this may take some time.

they may not answer at all if they cant take you, they may answer you if they will. unfortunately I cant really predict the outcome bc you have a few issues: 1. youre with a company that recruits very heavily for SM. 2. a company that is a major pain in the ass to leave (see #1). 3. you live in a country that SM pays out less for some bizarre reason. 4. you may be in a country that Streamate will say "you have to be a studio regardless of being in iinternetmodelingg" and reroute you to a different signup process... I dont know for sure for Hungary, but that may be true.
Im sorry this is so complicated.
Wait more regardless, you can try just signing up on your own with a new name, new email, etc. I dont advise this bc they can just shutdown your account at any time if they figure it out. It is a pretty risky thing to do bc you can forfeit your earnings this way.

Sara, I hope that you also get your issue resolved. I e mailed Vanessa, and she got back to me pretty quickly. She was very helpful, and gave me concrete answers- but doesn't look like there's anything that can be done. There's a 90-120 day waiting period, before I can sign up on streamate directly. The only way around that, would be if the studio gave me notice that they were releasing me.
Even though I signed with both the studio and streamate directly, only 1 account was approved. She did a search using my first & last name, e mail and model ID; only the studio account came up. So I guess I will register on some other sites in the meantime, until the waiting period is up.

Did you try e mailing dailypay again? or did you join the dailypay forum? Sometimes places are busy, and it takes a bit to get back to you. I'm thinking about trying adultwork. I also submitted my documentation to homecams, but I'm waiting for my account to be approved.

Sara Id suggest following up.
Blondie Im sorry it didnt work out - our "how to leave studios" directions became increasingly useless as studios / websites (specifically Streamate) picked up on our strategies and slowly started shutting it down as they were all just loopholes we were exploiting. Im sorry it isnt more clearcut and simple to do, Im sorry guys :-/ this thread started as prevention only and we got lucky midway on helping people leave Streamate studios but we may be circling back to just prevention. Thanks for keeping us updated though, Im glad Vanessa was helpful. One option is just remaining in the studio and earning a lower percentage, InternettModeling you cant change your prices sara (it is stuck at 3.99/4.99 and you earn 20% off of that), but may not be the case for yours Blondie and you could just hike up your prices to make up the difference perhaps? Blurgh, sorry guys
Best of luck on other sites as well, as a tip Adultwork has "groups" which are very similar to studios - it may be helpful to dodge those as well in case you get messages asking if you want to join a "group", you dont have to on Adultwork to do well.

That's OK Roast, I appreciate the help. I've already cancelled my studio account... but I'd rather sign up on other sites... than have a studio take a cut of my pay for doing nothing. It be different if they were doing extra promoting for you. The waiting period is just a pain in the ass. I don't understand the point of the waiting period, unless it's just to keep models from leaving a studio. The main site still makes money off a model

Update...
Was on vacation with my hubby for a couple of weeks, which of course fell right where Daily Pay seems to be not moving at all in terms of applications. I applied over 2 weeks ago, and haven't gotten any response. Everyone on their forums keeps saying to be patient! It's worth it! But they usually are talking about waiting a week. I emailed the guy and commented in the forums, but then two people in the same thread got a reply with an approval but I didn't. So *sadface*.
I hope I do get approved...I just wanna cam again already!! lol

So - I actually worked from a studio called KLC productions. I had quit because I didn't ike having to work their "set hours" I wanted to go back to webcamming and tried to create a username for myself through SM and was not approved because the studio still had my profile on from streamate. I asked the manager to shut it off and she blantantly told me no. Instead, she said i could work through them at home instead of becoming independent. Is that even legal?? in the beginning, she even said we were able to quit and do it on our own.... and she lied. I was really exhausted of being ripped the fuck off which is why I quit! They were paying me 20% of whatever 20% really was. SM basically told me I had to contact them through the email that was used in set-up through the first profile. Only problem is, it was through the studio which I don't have access to. Is there a way around this? I really liked using streamate, but by going through a studio/agency is there any way I can't use any other webcam site? Help :'(

How is this going? I read through the DP forums sometimes and the person running it recently threatened to shut it down, so Im really unsure if he's running at full capacity anymore.... when people used it as a place to jump from IM to independent or from IM into DP, he was more uh enthusiastic about DP than he presumably is now for a few reasons that unfortunately are out of our control. Im sorry this option didnt work.
I contacted SM to verify that the account has been closed...to which they said:
Due to many studio complaints, SM has been tightening the strings on the loopholes we used to exploit to get models to work independently. Im sorry, theyre unfortunately more uh powerful than we are. And IM told you you can only sign up after a year of not working, correct?
Unfortunately the only "good" virtual studios I know of arent allowed to poach internet modeling performers... I think we hit a roadblock.
your options are:
1. Continue to contact DailyPay and hope you get a response that is useful. In terms of reliability, this door have closed awhile ago though and I dont want to refer you to a service where the owner says he wants to shut it down.
2. If you need to earn and cant wait any longer, work under ?
3. Work other sites until you forget about SM for a year and then can work independently.
4. not recommended as you may forfeit your earnings Try to "fakeout" Streamate by signing up independently with a new name, new email address, and hope no one notices. I dont recommend this.
5. not recommended as this is just a n untested theory: On Adultwork.com one method people have used to escape their studio that has worked is to get banned from the site by breaking some of the "lighter" site rules. There was a theory this could work on Streamate - if you "break" light site rules eventually youll get suspended and them terminated. I have no idea if this works and I dont even know what SM considers a "light" rule (maybe a marquee of your cammodels link?)... then after youre terminated, sign up independently on your own. I dont recommend this.

Hi there,
1. You can work other webcam sites asides from Streamate, absolutely.
2. Asides from hoping theyll just release you (which she wont it seems) physical studios are really hard to get people out of their virtual studio contract.... and the amount of time after not streaming that you can signup independently tends to vary. Can I ask what country you live in? Where you live unfortunately is a factor for how truly locked you are in this studio.
One member here talks about owning a physical studio
https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?185381-Off-Topic-Streamate-Cam-Studio-s - look for posts by the user "JaneBurgess", she alleges that after 3months SM has told her as a physical studio owner that the model's login expires. So, if that is true, then one option is to not work on SM at all for 3months and then sign back in. That rule in my experience is inconsistent and depends on the studio, but it may be different for physical studios, I am really really not sure. We dont get many people who are leaving physical studios here, Im sorry. But you can sign up for other webcam sites as listed in the first page of this thread and throughout the forums. Im hoping theyve been paying you consistently and reliably since you left?
I do want to apologize to people looking for help - I initially started this thread purely as prevention to help people not get tricked and a lot of "how I do leave studio" advice is just hoping what worked with one person works for another :- /. Im sorry guys. A lot of our previous success options have fizzled out. I keep apologizing bc I recently read through all of the success stories and watching the decline in them and the mounting frustration/urgency is a bummer - Im hoping at some point soon we can find more loopholes.
