Chia seeds are my new thing...I heat up some almond milk, add agave and mix in a few tablespoons of Chia seeds. They puff up after a few minutes, and it's almost like a super healthy tapioca pudding! Except with tons of Omega 3's and antioxidants!

Breakfast: nothing
Lunch (3:30pm): half of my husband's strawberry ensure, 3 slices blood orange, 2 plain boiled eggs.
Dinner (10:45pm): Half a roasted chicken. I'm on my period, I guess I needed the protein. No side items, and at least I didn't eat the skin.

^Well, I think most people on SW can afford to buy as much food as they want. So if they are intending to starve themselves, then I don't think your comment is going to stop them. And if they aren't, then your comment is just going to offend people. So why say that at all?

I hate exercising, so now that I'm not dancing anymore I'm a lot less active, hence the need to keep my calories down. I generally keep them under 1200 a day.

I eat 2-2.7k calories a day but people ask if I'm starving because I'm always eating fruit...
When the girls at my club get taco bell and I don't join in they call me anorexic and imlike dude...I just are a whole pineapple and an avocado back to back, that's 900 calories -- the same as your curly fries and chicken sandwich!

I was reading that the population studied (predominantly Argentinians) also have a high population of cigarette smokers which could be skewing the results.

But I'll be in denial no matter what because this new loose leaf stuff I got is chrooooniiic. Seriously, it makes me so euphoric and productive but without any kind of jitters.

why mention that most of the things listed are under 1200 calories a day and that qualifies as semi-starvation? because starving yourself or eating a semi-starvation diet will ultimately backfire, as was proven in the 1944 semi-starvation study, which basically found that cutting calories to below 1500 calories a day drastically and negatively altered their brain chemistry even after returning to a normal diet. which is why yo-yo dieting doesn't work.
if you are eating 1000 calories to maintain your weight, you are not meant to be that weight. and i find this absurd that me asking why so many of you are starving yourselves purposefully is offensive? but you're a mod so you're allowed to get butthurt as you see fit.

LOL..your going to quote a 1944 study on dieting? Everybody is different & to say you have to eat more than 1500 calories or it negatively alter your brain is ignorant. Now I do find some of the eating habits to be off & not correct but I keep that to myself.

I ate a burrito from Qdoba, and I'm almost wishing I had syrup of ipecac lying around. It took me 4 miles of walking to walk there and back, so at least I burned calories on the way there.

it wasn't a study on dieting. it was a study on the effects of the low calorie intake in regards to what prisoners of war might experience while held and afterward. it's actually a very famous study and one of the reasons it's cited most is because it is applicable to why yo-yo dieting doesn't work. /thinnest person on the forum

I've mentioned previously I was surprised at how little some girls eat. I def couldn't live on less than 1500 cals but Camille as BOM pointed out a lot of these girls are trying to lose weight and the only way to do that is decrease cals and increase activity. I think med said she's not that active so it makes sense for those ladies as well to eat less. I have studied nutrition and metabolism in-depth and although I see some poor nutrition habits at some points in this thread, I wouldn't bother commenting on it because people are not asking for advice here. It's meant to be sharing food ideas... Some ideas may not be helpful, but nonetheless I think it's healthy to share eating habits and maybe learn what's good and what's not from each other. If you are getting adequate proportions of carbs, fat and protien at 1000 cals you should not be starving and it shouldn't alter brain chemistry. In order to lose weight it's pretty simple science calories in should be less than out. If someone eats the wrong types of food to achieve this then yes it will have a negative impact on health. But that's not the point of the thread.

At least I ended the day eating sushi, but I probably shouldn't have eaten dinner at all. I'm waiting for my frozen raspberries to thaw, then I can't eat anything else for the rest of the night.

Today I had a Vegan Burger 70 calories( no condiments, lettuce, etc) just naked on a sandwich round... totaling 170 calories plus a dole fruit cup in all natural fruit juice totaling 80 calories. So I had 250 calories today. For some reason ever since I became vegan/vegetarian I am able to consume less than 600 calories a day on top of a couple hours of exercising and I don't even feel hungry. I mean I sometimes crave the bad stuff but I know I won't actually eat it. I am about 100lbs, measurements 30B-21-32.5 and I feel great with just consuming so little calories. Anyone may know why this is ? Should I continue since I feel just fine ?

Easiest and healthiest lazycook recipe:

Ingredients:

1 jar organic pasta sauce (any kind will do...I like tomato basil)
2 cloves garlic
3+ cups organic vege broth (to desired consistency)
salt and pepper to taste
optional: basil, cayenne pepper / red pepper flakes, goat cheese

In food processor, dump pasta sauce, seasonings, and garlic. Turn on and let it go until garlic has been pulverized. While processor is going, dump vege broth into the pasta sauce jar, put the top on, and shake it to get all of the sauce off of the sides. Slowly pour vege broth into processor (add more if the consistency is still too 'pasta-saucy'...this should make a very nice tomato soup). While processor is going, heat up a pot and dump processor contents into the pot to heat up to desired temperature. Grate some pepper on top, scoop a dollop of goat cheese in there (this will heat up from the soup and become a delightfully creamy treat at the bottom), and you're good to go!

I do this with cans of beans as well. Super good, and suuuper easy! (Har har har... Souper easy. :))

I love lettuce wraps and stuff, I don't see the hype about bread or pasta. Neither is tasty to me- just a vessel for whatever deliciousness I'm putting on top. So I generally forgo it.

Today!

2 bananas
Some salami and cheese- we bought a meat slicer for at home so now can cut our own cheeses and meats.
1.5L water so far

I'm making a pork roast tonight... slow cooked with root vegetables.

For some reason, I find bread's texture totally addicting, despite the fact that it doesn't add much flavor. I avoid it though.
