*lends JD a hand*

My day today was SUPER fucking busy - woke up early to go to the gym, then pulled a 15 hour shift. Just getting home now, at 2am.

I packed all my food last night, because I knew I would have to eat lots, and eat healthily to keep my energy up.

Breakfast: 1 egg, 1 ww toast, 1/2 orange.
Snack: Coffee + greek yogurt
Lunch: Spinach salad with tin of tuna and small bowl of chicken noodle soup + Diet coke
Snack: Green tea + Raspberries and Blue Berries + Small square of dark chocolate
`Dinner` - Peaches and Cream oatmeal (had to be fast and easy to make quickly).
Snack - Mixed veggies (carrots, snap peas, brocalli, cherry tomatos) and 1 oz of cheese....
And now I`m having more tea before bed.

I also drank a shit ton of water.

As much as it was a hastle and annoying to have to prepare all that at home and transport it in, I`m glad I had it with me - I had more energy than the girls who ordered in Pizza, and saved myself a lot of money and calories. And I didn`t crash throughout the day either.

KK, been up for nearly 24 hours now. Going to get some sleep. Eat healthily ladies, it's always more rewarding in the end!

Aww J.D...I know yer super healthy but everyone's gotta eat crap sometimes.
Por ejemplo: Saturday night my regular brought me in these mini key lime pies and chocolate mousse and i totally ate all of it at 3 AM.
And then the next day, back on track...

Breakfast: 6 pistachio date rolls
Lunch: coconut and pineapple blended with kale
Dinner: spicy papaya salad with shrimp, tin of sardines
3AM post work: sweet potato with coconut oil, nutritional yeast, and chocolate chips (tastes like a chocolate chip pancake! i call it a pan-fake. lol)
Drinks: chia seed cherry kombucha, hi-ball energy drink, yerba mate

Today I made banana-rasberry-choco mousse and I think I'll have blended food for lunch and a super-rare 1lb bunless pineapple burger for dinner. :)

I threw some kidney, cannellini, and chick peas in some olive oil and balsamic vinegar with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Wow, that fills me up like whoa. I had two scrambled eggs for breakfast, buffalo/beef meatloaf (with quinoa mixed in) for lunch/dinner, and some of those Beanitos chips with hummus also for dinner. And a protein shake sometime in the afternoon. I HAVE to kick this sugar addiction!!!! I've been eating super clean since Monday (nothing processed, no sugar, no alcohol, no dairy, no wheat, no grains, no gluten) I want to at least make it by Monday, so one week, and hopefully I will feel balanced again. It's amazing how much that crap affects not only my weight, but my mood, ability to focus, sleep, etc.

Some Glutenfreeda instant oatmeal in a packet, two eggs, a few random beanitos chips and hummus. Now, a salad with half a head of romaine, some wasabi peas, dairy/gluten free caesar dressing, and some of that leftover bean mix with olive oil and balsamic I made the other day thrown on top. Leftover buffaloaf on the side. That bean salad I made HAS to be high in calories because it's SO filling! I just want to make it to Monday with no sugar, alcohol, dairy, or gluten!

My body was soooo ripped six months ago, I had a six pack, I was super tiny (between a size 0 and 2), and had zero body fat. I was doing a super low cal diet at the time though, and massive amounts of cardio. Prior to that I was doing hardcore free weight/strength training with not as much cardio, and eating a higher calorie, super high protein diet. I am thinking that was kind of my loading phase, I built up my muscles then, and then when I got tiny that was my cutting phase, I lost a lot of weight, including muscle. Now I am slightly bigger, about 7 lbs bigger, but way SOFTER! I want to build up my muscles again and burn off the fat!

I am doing my HIIT different now as well. I turn up the incline on the treadmill to only 3, then sprint at 9.0-9.2 mph for 15 seconds (really fucking fast!) and JOG, NOT walk, at 5.5, or whatever I can handle without throwing up, at 45 seconds. I do this for at least ten minutes. Today was my first day.

Here's what I read about it:

"The Best Cardio For Weight Loss

In my opinion, the best cardio for weight loss combines these HIIT workout routines resulting in a strong HGH release, release of fatty acids, glycogen depletion, and calorie burning. The first part of the workout is short interval HIIT with a long recovery ratio. For these intervals, you sprint 15 seconds and recover (jog) for 45 seconds. This releases fatty acids and increases HGH levels. I prefer to warm up for 2 minutes and then perform 8 sets of this type of HIIT for a total workout of 10 minutes.

For the second phase, I perform 25 minutes of steady state cardio (light paced jog or exercise bike). This provides an active recovery for your muscles. Additionally, steady state cardio helps burn the fatty acids that short interval HIIT released into the bloodstream.

The final phase is performing long interval HIIT with short recovery periods. This will fully deplete your body of glycogen allowing for a greater after-burn effect and fat burning once your workout is complete. I perform 1 minute sprint intervals with 1 minute of jogging. The sprint intervals for this portion are not as intense as the first phase, by necessity as your muscles will be slightly tired. It’s best to keep this final phase to around 10 minutes as well.

So there you have a 45 minute HIIT workout that I believe is the best cardio for weight loss. This routine should allow you to burn belly fat fast no matter how close or far you are from your ideal weight.

Not Your Average Fitness Tips

A HIIT workout is the best cardio for weight loss.
Vary the sprint intervals to increase HGH levels or deplete glycogen for greater fat burning.
Vary the recovery intervals to increase HGH or burn more calories as well as compensate for possible overtraining.
Combine the different forms of HIIT as follows for a great workout: 10 minutes of short interval HIIT, 25 minutes of steady state cardio, 10 minutes of long interval HIIT."

I feel like I have too much cortisol in my body, because I notice a difference around my midsection and thighs the most. It could be coincidence, but I don't want to take any chances.

Monday after drinking over the weekend I was too lazy to go to the store and binged on all kinds of gross crap at my parents. I had some cake and a lemon bar and it made me break out in a rash. Hadn't had anything like that in awhile so I guess I really am allergic to wheat/gluten.
Yesterday I ate medjool dates and ribs. wtf.

Today I was incredibly dehydrated and tried to get back on track. Had green juice, a pineapple, an avocado and a watermelon.
Tomorrow I plan on having coconuts, durian, papaya, and sardines. :)

J.D.
01-25-2012, 10:08 PM
Note to self: Buy more sardines...

I'm fighting off a huge sugar craving right now. And what sucks about it is that I can't satiate it by eating fruit or a zero carb protein shake, it would have to be straight chocolate, candy bar, or Ben and Jerrys, so I'm not even attempting to manage it, just waiting for it to pass.....

I made homemade Thai chicken curry tonight for the first time. I used two chicken breasts cut into small strips, 5 minced garlic cloves, 1 inch of ginger chopped finely, one chopped serrano pepper, all sauteed over med high heat in coconut oil, then added the chicken, fresh squeezed juice from half a lemon, ground pepper, salt, 1 1/2 t of curry powder, 1/2 t of cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, two chopped yukon gold potatoes, and one can of light coconut milk. It came out very soupy, so I cooked up a small portion of gluten free rice. It was surprisingly good, but lacking a certain flavor, maybe salt or sugar....
