If I were you girls... I would UPGRADE and most importantly...

ASK FOR EVERYTHING IN WRITING, IN BLACK AND WHITE, EVERY LAST PERIOD, EVERY CROSSED T AND DOTTED I.

ALL. OF. IT.

AND MAKE IT CLEAR - THAT YOU CONDUCT A BUSINESS - ONLINE AND WORK ONLINE.

This way, if something does happen, they WERE warned. That way, when the papers come to you and it's NOT included in the statements made, you can nail some asses to a wall.

Good luck girls.

Outrages you pay $70 a month and even more outrages they would suspend you. Wouldn't that be discrimination on their behalf? A job is a job end of story.

I called cox cos I'm thinking about trying out webcams and they told me I have about 200gb available/month but if I was going to be a multiplayer online gamer for several hours a day ( I didn't say webcam model but gaming takes about the same data load) I'd have to upgrade to the $64/ mo premium account. he didn't mention anything about business account though.
However if they had a biz package it would probably be a 100% tax write off

my Q is : would 200gb kick me over the limit if I was gonna cam every other day or like 3 days a week (5 to 6 hrs a day )?

That should bring you in around 100-150 gigs depending on what else you do. 200 should cover you pending you are not a serious movie downloader or someone streaming TV shows constantly.

That said these internet providers really need to get with the times. People my age (mid 20's) are using the internet for what TV used to be used for. Infact I rarely watch TV, I did not have cable/satelite for over 3 years and it did not bother me. I just recently subscribed to a basic cable package mainly because of the deal Rogers was offering me for internet and TV. I rarely touch it and I keep the TV on the same channel for 2-3 days at a time (I like the background noise).

I pay $100+ a month for 250 gigs. I have never been kicked off the Rogers network, however I subscribe to the top end package. However they have throttled me on months where I have come close to the 250 mark.

I average around 100-150 gigs a month, mostly upload. I watch crunchy roll, a few netflix movies here and there, youtube and that's about it for download. My download averages about 30 gigs, but my upload is three times that!

WTF! They don't deserve your business- if I were you, I'd move on to another company that treats you right, and let them know that they've lost a customer! And be sure to complain about it EVERYWHERE online... they deserve it for how badly they've treated you.

Am I the only one who does not even HAVE another company available?

There is only one broadband provider where I am.

^^ That would be me, too Laurie. The only available company out here is Comcast. I've been waiting for FiOS to set up out here since they came out with FiOS. If I got my internet suspended, I would either have to get an air card, or get dial up. :(

Comcast is supposed to be merging with NBC which is causing a real big stir- these types of monopolies are really a bad bad thing.

Here's an article that's really interesting: http://iconnectdots.com/2010/11/lets-not-play-comcast-monopoly.html
and here about having monopoly in philadelphia: http://www.topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/1348-comcast-monopoly-class-action-lawsuit-continues-

They make it impossible for other services to thrive and compete- giving us NO provider choices, and making us pay more for what should cost less.

Quote from first article:

"On November 19, 2010, Comcast informed Level 3 that, for the first time, it will demand a recurring fee from Level 3 to transmit Internet online movies and other content to Comcast’s customers who request such content. By taking this action, Comcast is effectively putting up a toll booth at the borders of its broadband Internet access network, enabling it to unilaterally decide how much to charge for content which competes with its own cable TV and Xfinity delivered content. This action by Comcast threatens the open Internet and is a clear abuse of the dominant control that Comcast exerts in broadband access markets as the nation’s largest cable provider."

Excuse my language- but that shit is FUCKED UP.
