There is no problem with music in vids, it have to be very low thought and without lyrics. Lower than your voice. But I highly advice to turn off fans, air system, fridge, close windows, doors, dogs, cats and etc. All those things are indeed destructive paired together with buildin mic one word HORRIBLE.
you can put a music when you are editing, but music must be royalty free.
If it is hard for you to act in front of the camera, maybe this job is not for you.!?! You can also check on youtube vids how to act infront of the camera you can read books about acting, but if you get easily embarrassed by just looking at yourself..nobody can help you but yourself.

Thanks for your concern, but I've been cam modeling for a while now, so I'm actually very comfortable acting in front of a camera and live audience. I'm actually quite comfortable acting in front of the camera too. The part that specifically gets me is thinking up things to say, saying them right to the camera, and not looking weird. Everyone has at least one thing they aren't comfortable doing, but that doesn't mean they aren't cut out for this job. That will come with practice as I start to think up better scripts for videos. Or it wont! I know that there's a lot of niche fetish clips I can make without needing to make up scripts, and if I can make good money camming and making silent videos on the side then that sounds like a great hustle to me! Thanks ladies, just want to make sure my first batch of videos are up to industry standards :P

Which is better for sales?
1. Video quality. Outstanding 4K source downsized to 1920*1080.
2. Perfect precious Girl. No comments, but we have best Girls in our largest country.
3. Good action. Brutality, cruelty in femdom, for example.
4. Girl's speech. Nice horny slutty sound from Her mouth.
5. Girl's clothes. Brand shoes, jeans etc.

If you feel like not doing something just dont do it:) Do what comes organically and easy, after you can challenge yourself and try something new. I'm also an ex camgirl, camming and clips are very different subjects. As far as I see there is no standards in quality:)

1)Your "outstanding"4k quality without a good lighting is just PHEW. good sound also is important.
2)All people have different tastes, what for you the most beautiful woman for other person nothing special. Also person must have a charisma.
3)she have to know what she is doing
4)if you will film it after dont whine "all my vids are pirated"
all your questions are vague.
You wrote that you are in this industry since 1998. where is your experience?

i have a good lighting for all types of shootings, but customers want 2560*1440 quality for the price of SD quality (960*540).
i am not a philanthropist in this :)
i dont understand new methods of promotion using social networks, tubes etc.
i like old-school (1995-2007) - link lists, tgp's, top lists.

Hi!
New here!
First of all: I want to thank everyone in this thread. I read the whole thing bc I got interested in clip making. SOOO much valuable advice - I probably would have given up on C4S before even trying, bc it looks very confusing and not much info to help a newbie.
Also your everyday thoughts (and rants!) have given me the insight to somewhat know what to expect. I am new to the adult industry (though not to the fetish world) and want to try it out. I have a full time job I enjoy, but it is also wearing me out. I give my creativity, time and energy to others. Maybe, if C4S works out, I will shift more time to do this.
So, thank you SO much!
I finally ordered a good camera and softboxes. It has taken me two weeks to do 10 videos, but two I now decided to discard, they just didn't feel right. I want to have some extra clips too before I activate bc I'm still so slow. I had planned to upload daily but I realize that with another full time intense job I will set my goal to 3-4 times a week for now. Better to fell accomplishment than disappointment from the start, right? :)
It's been intense learning techs phew... Handling the camera was easier than I thought. Video editing I was surprised to still be good at (used to do DV videos 7-8 years ago) but I will have to drop the nerdyness and detailing for every video bc it gets very time consuming. Getting formats and sizes right, making gif:s, store page looking good etc I have yet to master.
Choosing my main category was something I've lied awake over lol. I have several fetishes myself but none work to film solo. There are so many fun cats. But I think I have an ok choice now. I will prob struggle to keep to it for a majority of vids (I just have so many ideas to try out!) but at least I have a a style that keeps the store look somewhat together even if the cats will be all over the place. I too have single videos that could naturally fit in 5-6 cats and it's sad that many customers won't find them. So hoping for the update to come asap that gets you possibility to post in several cats. (Though my concern is studios will try to stretch it too far so clips not always really fit)
I will only offer HD, but in two formats. Most of my clips are short so it would be ridiculous to make SD versions to make like a 300mb clip 200mb. I understand why studios have 4 versions but I really dislike the look of repeating clips in the store. I hope setting the display order works again so I can choose order?
I LOVE shooting and editing, and I'm confident I'll get the hang of the techs eventually. When I have the store running it will be exciting to see what you think :)

It sounds like you have everything down. I wouldn't work on an SD and HD version of clips. I would use two different formats. That's a personal preference though. (after reading that again I realized that you said that :p)
I wouldn't ditch those two videos you did. I would keep them as back up if you end up needing a video or two to pop up.
There's related categories and if I am not mistaken your clip will show in the main category as well as the others you have listed. At least you will show to a wider audience.
You don't have to stick to one category. You can do whatever you want as long as it's not against the rules. If you're making a lot of 2 different kinds of videos I would open a second store if you want to keep them separate, but that's up to you because it's two different stores to maintain.
Just make sure you don't go overboard with editing your videos or you will burn out super easy. Just cut what you need to and you're good!
Good luck! I hope you do well :) (I'm all over the place because I'm on my phone... Sorry!)

We can have more than 2 versions of the same clip...they just want us to use only 2 formats :)
In an effort to help our producers when uploading content, please note the most popular and preferred file formats by customers are: MP4 and WMV
The maximum allowed is TWO (2) FORMATS per Unique Clip.
WARNING: Do not spam updates by adding miscellaneous clip formats. Studios that abuse clip updates to be re-listed in the “Recently Updated” lists will have their clips deleted from the servers without notice.
CLARIFICATION
To clarify yesterday's broadcast message regarding clip formats, please note that the message was seen by ALL producers, it was not directed at any individual studios. Broadcast messages are sent to ALL open studios on the Clips4Sale network of sites.
Our intension was not to force any studio owner to use only MP4 or WMV. Our recommendation is to try to only use two (2) formats per unique clip. However, you can do HD and SD versions of each format which would equal four (4) clips, if you feel the need to offer more options. Or if you shoot in MOV, you could do MOV and MP4, in both HD and SD as described above.
What we are trying to avoid are duplicate clips added in obsolete formats for the sole purpose of spamming the main and category list pages.
We are trying to explain the importance of correctly uploading formats which are not only relevant to current technology, but also directed toward the changes we are making behind the scenes at Clips4Sale which will enable customers to get clear and correct results from their searches. Our ultimate goal is to increase your visibility as a studio when a customer searches for the content you produce and allow the customer to get the best results when they visit Clips4Sale.
PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to delete anything currently in your studio. It is not retro-active this is just a recommendation as we move forward.

Hello, I need a bit of advice. I'm looking to start a studio on C4S, but I'm having some difficulties making clips. I love doing fetish stuff, but I find talking to a camera to be extremely awkward. so I'm sticking to fetish stuff that doesn't require much talking. But do people like music over their clips? Should I play music while I'm filming this clip, put the music over the clip when I'm editing it, or have no music at all?
Being a camgirl already actually helped me with this, because I was used to talking to the camera and not seeing the person...would it help to regard it as camming and that someone is watching you through the camera?
I don't play any music in my clips...music is a really personal thing and I don't want any distractions from my voice.

Yep, I'm making the clips wmv and mp4. Im only offering HD, but if I ever make 20-30+min videos I might offer a SD for those. Without this thread and Sinna's blog I would not know these are the most popular formats. Wmv tends to be windows oriented and mp4 the choice for mac users, so makes sense. Seems the wmv:s I make are much much smaller in file size than mp4, so a mac user wanting a smaller file size could just get the wmv and use VLC player, right?
Right now I'm struggling with the mp4:s - I use Final cut pro and export to mp4, but there is no choices to be made regarding bit rate etc. They turn out huge if I have some effects on the clip. Like my latest 1,4G for a 9 min clip. I have yet to find a way to reduce the file size and still keep it HD. I've tried several compressors but can't find one that is easy to use. I use macx video converter pro to make wmv versions, but I can't change bit rate there. I tried adding the huge mp4 and chose mp4, and it compressed it to a tiny file, it can't be right. VLC didn't want to play it so must be corrupt. Honestly I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to bitrate lol, like how much can I lower it?
I'm trying handbrake next.

The part that specifically gets me is thinking up things to say, saying them right to the camera, and not looking weird.
I'm also new and not used to this, and the first tries were SO awkward lol. I've been an amateur actor, and do presentations etc in my work. But this is something completely different so no wonder. For me it got better very fast though, but still learning. I've done a few different things for my first clips to handle it:
- About 2/3 of my finished clips and try-outs have been without speech completely. As you said there are very nice categories to try that don't require speaking at all.
- For the ones with speech I actually
A: read directly from a script but it's not visible on camera. Takes some acting skill to feel natural.
B: Sort of learned the script beforehand. For some this is supereasy and some just can't memorize. I'm in between.
- I take notes when ideas pop up, including fun/sexy/fetish things to say. When once written down, they can pop up again when improvising, or I use them for a full script later.
My biggest struggle so far when shooting, is to not look at myself on the screen instead of the camera eye lol. I use a very shallow focus depth bc it looks so good but a slight move and I'm out of focus. Autofocus on my DSLR camera is crazy so not using that.

I keep seeing people say we can only do 2 formats but I've always done 3 and stuck them in3 different categories if possible. Is this something new? I released some videos last week in all 3 categories and they uploaded fine.

I can't remember when that notice came out now...it's not that new. MP4 and WMV do sell the best...I used to use MOV when I had to re-upload a clip because something had gone wrong but few sold. They're mostly concerned about people deliberately spamming the site.

Alyssa, the clip ordering doesn't work as well as it used to, but if you post 2 versions for each unique clip, I think it's still okay.
If I could do it over, I would also do two versions and then post them a few days apart, like Tara does. That way, the clip gets fresh attention from your regulars and you don't have the same clips next to each other.
The clip ordering still works, but not when you click on a studio from a category page, which is what a lot of customers actually do, because they surf to their favorite category and then click on your store. When they do that, your store is presented to them search-filtered by the keyword (which is the category name, e.g. amateur) and sorted by date, newest to oldest. That means every clip with the keyword "amateur" (in this example) in the title/description, no matter which order number you gave that clip, is being shown in your store, newest to oldest.

I ask C4S for 3 versions for 1 unique video.
The reasons are.
1. Some people could not pay $6/minute for 2560x1440 quality of the extremely brutal fetish.
2. Some people can not play videos with resolution greater than 1920x1080.
3. Some people are gready and never pay more than $1.5/minute for the SD/HD (960x540/1280x720) quality.
So C4S has resolved me to upload 3 versions for each video in this most extreme category.

RE: clip size
I convert the clip to WMV first to get the smaller file size, then reconvert the WMV version back to MP4 and then there is little difference in file size between the two. I use a Mac and Iskysoft as a converter.

Thank you, makes sense. I will do the Tainton trick for now :) When I look around C4S I tend to click at stores via the categories that interest me, and I think this is how most, or a lot of, people would navigate. Posting formats a few days apart is better than having them right next to each other in my opinion.

According to support it is a technical issue that should be fixed in a few days and the full amount should show in your earnings then.

I'm wondering about the taboo clips on C4S...are we allowed to talk about (and act out) fantasies such as mother/son, brother/sister etc as long as there's ONLY ONE PERSON in the clip? There seems to be loads of them uploaded, and it's something I am comfortable talking about and play acting on cam anyway, but is this a C4S grey area?
And what DOES happen if a clip is removed? Do you just get a warning and that's it? Do you have a certain number of chances before they completely shut you down? Or is it difficult to get closed down, you'd have to seriously be breaking the law before they act?
EDITED - actually, some of the vids I've just found have more than one person, so is this actually breaking the site rules? (ps: I personally wouldn't report these. The performers are all over 18, it's consensual, and there are no animals involved.)
Oh my, haven't even thought it would be an issue if it's obviously fantasy/role play and there is no question about the REAL age of the participants. I have several mother/son scenarios and since I'm new I'm not sure how forgiving they are if I break the rules. I don't mention any age of the imaginary son, but of course incest is implied and the "son" is talked to as to a child. It's pov and I just assumed there is no question the "son" is the viewer = an adult roleplaying. If this would not be allowed than taboo as a category would be quite meaningless.
And I find the rules are actually hard to live by - they seemed to be common sense at first, but SO many of my ideas just won't work if they're applied strictly. I wanted to do some videos of me cooking and using cooking knifes to cut food. I asked about it just to make sure they have my back and to my surprise I got a no. So daytime tv actually can be more hardcore fetish than what's allowed on C4S lol. It pissed me off since clips on C4S with two people knife playing and executrix scenarios with weapons isn't exactly hard to find (and I want to do that too but I can even get close as new) As a newbie I assumed that would be ok as long as murder or harm were not acted out looking realistic. How can there be an executrix category when the first rule is "No Horror/Snuff - You can't act out someone being maimed or killed" and one of the top clips is a pov knife murder? (love that clip btw)
I also now question a great clip I already made where it is implied a monster pees on a fake dead body (or close to it) You can't really see much, it's up to the viewer. But rules applied strictly - nope. It's the clip I've worked hardest on yet so I would be super disappointed if it's not approved. I just didn't realize before the cooking question how strict they actually might be.
I wanted to use my toy weapon in a solo clip. Read rules again - nope.
Wanted to use some of my own fetishes with bf - rape play and daddy's girl scenarios. Nope, see rule 3.

Now that's nuts! My husband wondered about cooking/cutting food for his store, and I checked the rules and it says "no weapons". I thought that as long as you weren't sacrificing a live animal to the god of internet masturbation, then cutting an innocuous piece of raw food would be ok?!?

I'm thinking if you ask C4S about a rule, they are going to have to be strict about it and tell you no. (It's not them, it's the credit card companies/banks that place these restrictions and won't process unless they are adhered to.) But.... I don't get the feeling that they are actually monitoring the hundreds (or thousands) of clips that get posted daily and so that's why some people get away with things. Just a guess....

I think so too, but as a newcomer I will probably get my ten clips more closely reviewed before my store gets up. Worst case scenario is I'm shut down. My videos aren't what I would call extreme, but they are on the weird side and super strictly applied (like cooking involves weapon kinda way), yes they break rules. And now I'm thinking I have to do like 8 new videos before I can start and save the others until I am more sure. I can't really ask support beforehand bc they are hard to describe objectively. But then my store won't have the style I want and only have what I would almost consider vanilla content to start with.

is anyone here who uses this site from the UK? I wanna set an account up but the payout options seem so bad, is it still worth it? from my research this seems like the only clip site worth it

Me - I get cheques, which come really quickly. However, your bank can be quite happy to hang onto it for weeks. But it is definitely worth it. You get the hits and the sales, which is the main thing. Just find a bank who is happy to process USD checks promptly.

One man ask me to sale for him a big order with old pics and vids.
He wants to buy ~12000 pics and ~11 hours of videos.
How can i protect myself from refund after downloads?
This order will be ~$1750.

I'll check how my bank is, it wont be like main income anyway, just getting really into making clips atm! haha
edit: ergh I checked, it costs quite a bit and takes ages to clear with my bank, I might just go for bank transfer and only transfer once I've earned quite a bit

Yep - most UK banks QUOTE multi-weekly turnarounds, BUT it's often/usually less in reality.

I'd be more concerned that he was buying them to resell them....as in put them on a paysite.

The wire option is extortionately expensive and they've been problems with the wires going through lately.
I receive cheques...the first cheque took 5 days to clear and after that they have cleared the next day. It costs me £9 with Barclays.

He is from Kuwait.
How can i mark images and videos? Big text watermark on the bottom?
He want fully possible quality videos. For this quality price will be ~$2700.
What if he will make refund after downloads?
