So I noticed that some of my videos get put into categories that I didn't put them into. I found out when I would look at the stats that show how people find my site. I'll have a shoe video found via the armpit category or something. Also I have an ignore video and it was put into the "ripoff" section, I looked it up and a lot of ignore videos got put into that category and some girls even name them ripoff videos. What's the deal with that?

Yeah I had emailed them and asked if I could put the same clip in multiple stores and was told no. But we can put the same clip on the same store but in different versions like AVI, WMV, etc....We have to change the original to put it in multiple stores which I did not want to do just in case you have guys who accidentally buy the same ones not knowing so I just said forget it...But it would have been nice to do for some days when you can't update every store with a new clip. *sigh*
I love making rip-off clips. They do well with my findomme guys. So I think that category is just away to grab their attention, most ignore guys will go for the rip-off, and I find the term excites them.

Oh ok I see. Was wondering why they had that. Does C4S add categories to videos that it thinks it falls into though? I didnt put it under that category but that's where a lot of guys are finding it. Hmmm....

They retweet some people. You'll see that if you follow them. Not sure how you get them to retweet you though. X

I am sure this is probably in this monster of a thread somewhere but truth be told tl;dr
I just realized today that C4S has its own camming application. o_0
Has anyone used this? I have never heard anyone mention it and I am so completely curious about it now! I am having a hard time finding much documentation on it but knowing me my Google-Fu is probably just super weak. (*sighs*)

I remember reading on here last year that c4s was linking to some livecams that were just a white label for another camsite. Can't remember off the top of my head which one though.
ETA: found the really old thread, it's called www.amateurfetishcams.com and is a white label for CamWorld.

Does anyone know the file size limit? And what video format is the standard? It sounds like mp4 and wmv are popular (?) if I offer two different resolutions though in two different formats I wouldn't want to have 4 copies of the same video on the page.
Thanks :)

Obscenity laws vary from state to state. You have to know yours and how they pertain to the type of content you're making. I believe with the FL case there were also some 2257 issues.

Dammit...I'm like $13 away from making the minimum payout for C4S, and this is the last day of the month.
Should I tweet some sort of "Buy one of my C4S vids, and show me the e-mail receipt (or screenshot), and I'll send you ____" offer? LOL.
I'm only half-kidding, by the way.

I've not done too well either. Shit actually, better check, not sure I've made the minimum. Eek. Better make way more clips this month. Just with being off sick I thought I should concentrate on camming. Grr.
Edit: it's ok, got $6 on top of min. Phew.

I made another attempt at a bubble gum blowing video, but I just could not blow any damn bubbles with my gum...lol! The first time I used Hubba Bubba (I didn't like it), and the second time I tried it with Bubble Yum, and I still couldn't do it. SMH. Well, at least I have an outdoor bubbles clip. :P

I've been neglecting my clips store, and free chat is making me so mentally tired lately, that I think I'm going to start making a million clips a day again. I want to try to make a super-high payout next month! I've still been steadily getting requests... hope everyone is doing well.

I answered part of my question if anyone else is curious. I called support and they told me 1g is the max, or 1.5g if it's over half an hour.
Still not sure about the second part of the question though.

See you girls who do Clips4Sale exclusively and have it as your only income (I'm sure I have read that some do this), do you have a full cast and crew or are you 'average Joe' camgirls?
Going by my experience, hours worked versus money made makes this seem attainable, but it seems more risky to me then camming.
Lol, this isn't meant to be a 'how much do you make question', just if c4s by itself is viable. I'm wondering about making clips a hell of a lot more. Maybe 50% camming, 50% clips. Xx

I'm pretty sure they don't have a whole cast/crew, but I think they shoot with DSLRs and edit with Final Cut or CS5. I have also noticed that they advertise their store in every place possible all over the internet.
I've also seen a lot of popular stores with one main theme and several girls. I'm assuming its the film director's store who doesn't perform and just pays the girl's per scene they film (which is usually low because no penetration is involved a lot of the time).

Most top studios I've seen have either been around for a few years, or they cater to come specific crazy fetish (that is usually beyond the boundaries that many are willing to go).

A friend of mine does this, and she just has a camcorder and a LOT of dedication! She doesn't advertise anywhere (other than social media) but she has been doing it for a few years, and uploads a LOT. She only does fetish stuff (not rare for C4S, obviously) and all non-nude, and sometimes films with other people on the site...I think that for her, a huge part of it is just dedication.
Part of me would love to just do clips, but the rest of me would be too concerned about not feeling like I had control - you can't hustle people into buying, or go on extra hours (though I suppose you could just make more clips...)...I like the direct, active money making of camming.

You can hustle people into buying if you promote in the right places and cultivate regulars. Working long hours would also help, as the more you update your store, the better you'll do.
The thing with c4s is that its A LOT of work at first for very little payoff. However, in 2-3 years of doing that, it will even out because by year 3, you will only have to update 1 simple clip daily or every other day, and you should be making a few thousand dollars per month at least because your old clips will still sell. That's a lot of money for such little effort. However, a lot of hours would be lost the first 2 years that you could have spent camming and made more on cam. So if you're serious about a c4s store & plan to run it for 5 or more years (taking the risk that it would still be good $$$wise at that time), it would make sense to put in the effort as your income is only capped the first couple years your on the site. The more (quality) clips you upload, the bigger your reputation/audience, the better your paycheck.
Or, if you run a paysite or plan to run a paysite, it also makes sense to have a c4s and create as many clips as possible. In order for a paysite to be successful though, you have to become famous in your niche, work with a lot of major porn companies, or be a top 50 girl on MFC or else the bandwidth & maintenance costs won't justify the payoff.

GR, I will let you know how this goes.
An awesome friend of mine is selling me her equipment super cheap and is showing me the ropes because she is in the business and has multiples. She is coming over to show me this week, and we are going to start filiming some clips together. I have about 40 right now just with my good old c910, and the rest I/we plan on doing with the good stuff.
I am opening up my store at 100 clips, hoping to get a fuckload knocked out really fast. Will check back.

Someone posted it earlier in this thread, but I know 22 pages is a lot to read.
But if you're having a crappy day and you don't feel like shooting/uploading new clips, then make use of your old clips you've already uploaded! Create a "pack" of 4 of your hottest clips, (I normally pick 4 in the same category- foot fetish for example) and save them into one large clip.
I sell TONS of clips this way.

I used to offer WMV, MOV and MP4 in my store. I Rarely sold a MP4 clip so I stopped converting into that. I do however sell quite a few MOV files, so it works for me to keep it in there. The only time I do not offer a different format, is when I create those "pack" clips like I mentioned above. No reason why.
For converting I use Aiseesoft HD Video Converter.

I know that you can definitely market, and advertise, and all the rest, but I LOVE the direct hustle - I think its a throwback to the stripper days! Even camming sometimes feels frustrating because I want to be physically in front of them hustling! Then I remember why I prefer camming, and am happy again...But not having direct contact would just feel so much like I was shooting in the dark, hoping to hit stuff. That IS just my feeling though - I know many people hate the one-on-one, and so living solely on clips is perfect!
I love doing them, though, and I always think that it is important to have multiple income streams - that is another reason that just doing clips would freak me out...there are basically no other sites to sell them on, so if C4S ever went down, that's your income GONE...that thought just scares the bejeesus out of me!
And yeah, you are absolutely right about it building up to more and more money because old clips are always selling - I love that part! Feels like free money, because you did the actual work so long ago! Aaaaaaahh... :)

Just had to take a moment to mention the awesomeness of C4S and passive income...
This past month, we have been moving, I have had a million things going on, so I didn't film AT ALL. I felt crappy because of it, felt like I should be filming...and the month prior to this one, I was probably averaging 5 a week, so it was a big drop.
BUT - guess what? I made only slightly less this month than last!! I actually made a few hundred for literally doing NOTHING. I don't think that I even promoted the store....
Aaaaaaah. Awesome.

Another good thing to do is to have a couple of short clips that you haven't uploaded that you can use for a "rainy day". They can even be things that dont normally sell well for you. Just remember that then you upload it pushes your store to the front page which means more traffic...which might buy some of the OTHER content that you have made that sells better!
Also some days you may not feel like uploading so it's good to have a few videos that you can just throw up without having to do much. This was invaluable to me last week since I had the flu and could barely get out of bed for about 5 days. I set some older "filler" content to upload once per day and still got sales. I even did 2 "flu/sick" related clips which also sold.

Yes! Caramel is right! Use being sick to your advantage! Film coughing, sneezing, nose blowing clips..you'll be surprised how well they sell.
I've even sold a few yawning clips.
There's never a good enough excuse as to why you can't update ;) There's always SOMETHING you can film...cleaning, fingernails typing, hair brushing....endless possibilities!

There's no easy way on a mac short of buying conversion software (I bought iSkysoft for like $40 and it was totally worth it!). You can use zamzar.com for free conversion - but it's super slow. You can also download the Smart Converter app - but even though it technically converts to wmv customers have to play it on vlc and not windows media player for some reason. A friend said if you just put an announcement somewhere on your site to play clips on VLC it shouldn't be an issue, but I got a few complaints so just bought the damn software.

I'm FINALLY putting effort into c4s... I just have one question, I searched the thread but couldn't find it. I'm filming with my Logitech 9000 and using resolution 640x480 for most clips. I'd use the highest resolution as it looks better but the clips are INSANELY huge. is 640x480 good for selling or do people want all high-res HD clips?
maryjaynexo

I've sold some in 640x480, but I save most of my other clips in HD (720 and 1080p). The ones I have available in 480, I've had no HD versions and no complaints :)
