I am still not recommending the membership option. Even if you don't care about the piracy.. it never really took off for me, although I had like 400 clips up for $30. Most members I had was about 5. Not worth the risk for me.
The first member ever I had, back when I was new to c4s and put everything in there, took all the 60 clips and put them on the internet.
It's a question of your stance on that. Do you take that as free advertisement or do you fight copyright infringement? I thought long and hard back then and I decided to fight it down to the last 2$ clip. It's been a lot of work but I don't regret the decision.
Agreed!! I don't get this mind-set of 'being nice' to loyal customers. They are loyal customers because they repeatedly PAY/BUY! They are showing you that they are willing to do so and have a history of doing so....so LET THEM! lol
All the time I put into coming up with ideas, getting ready, shooting clips, uploading them, editing them, making gifs, uploading them to C4S and writing descriptions....I am not giving them away for cheap to anyone, loyal or not. I respect MY time that I put into my clips and they will pay for it, or they just won't get it.
Come on gals. Don't Wal-mart yourself. Ever. You'll only end up attracting the icky, cheap-ass customers. We went through this before in this thread.

I dmca everything I come across. Even if this means that I have to take 20 minutes everyday and search, I'll do it. I work too hard to let people walk all over me. I even figure out who did it and report them to the site they bought from.

I think I understand where you're coming from. I was thinking more of long, vlog-style videos for the membership site. Videos that have less "sexy" content. Like giving PSAs, talk about yourself, etc. A kind of behind the scenes thing.
Here's where I'm coming from: I got started at c4s through a YouTube channel. My channel was mostly a talking head about my nonexistent love live and sexual fetish. And guys really loved the human connection. Yeah, sure, I ended up catering to the whole "selling sex" aspect by showing my body off more and more on YouTube when I tried on different clothes.
And they ended up asking for custom vids. And I put those requested vids up on c4s for extra cash.
And that's what my current c4s site is like, except with more nudity than YT. But I feel like I'm getting more and more gimmicky since I feel the pressure of producing content by the $1/minute c4s standard, rather than a longer style, more free flowing, more honest vid. But I guess I could just put those style videos back over on my YouTube channel.
Anyways, thanks for all the input! It's been helpful to discuss this.

It ends up on piracy forums and sites dedicated to hosting them. I won't tell anyone where I find them or how because if I do then they can change how they post them making them harder to find.
Once you get a rhythm and find patterns then it is crazy easy to find them again. It's taken a lot of hours of searching, because most of these sites aren't on page 1 of google. I also don't want to out myself as I am sure it would.

To me, this sounds like you struggle charging "a lot" for "just a more sexual youtube vid". I have been there and I can only recommend stopping to worry. Here is a little anecdote:
I was researching niteflirt (still not on there btw) a few years ago and checking the top profiles. One of the top women with a few thousand positive reviews did ignore fetish. For like 3.99 or 4.99 / minute, I don't remember but it was a lot to me.
Her latest top comment was a guy, who went like this "Totally awesome. She picked up the phone and then I only heard some footsteps and then nothing. At least 5 minutes of absolutely nothing. Never had a hardcore ignore session like that. It was incredible".
And I thought: "what????!!! So she basically picked up the phone and left.. and got 20-30$ plus a very positive review for doing.... nothing at all??"
It took me a few more years and I still sometimes struggle, but the lesson learned is: Just charge your price. The right customers will pay for it and if they come back, those are the ones you want to build a following of: true fans of YOU.
I only reduce my normal rates if I personally am not happy with the clip, e.g. forgot the lights or something. I won't reduce the price because I think it "could be lame for customers to pay so much for this". You know, I write detailed, honest descriptions and I think if someone buys the clip, they wanted it. If not, there is not much more I can do than writing a detailed and honest description. I can't force them to read it.
Maybe your customers rather want your free flowing, longer style and are ready to pay for that, instead of getting the "pressurized" vids you produce for less.
This advice is not totally unfounded. I have been there and I am much more happy today. I got "better" fans and money wise, it's not such a big difference. Sell 5 shorter clips to random people or 1 long clip to a fan - it's about the same.

Well, I can speak for myself and say that membership side of the site works for me. I never asked questions about C4S memberships before and I thought it would be could cool. Now, nattythefattyforsure bumped my post talking about how to market my membership site and putting her own problems on it. I told her that I got some great advice on another forum. However, most of my membership customers also buy my videos and clips as well. So, I really do not have those types of problems with being too nice to customers because I am about my money. I was just asking about how to market my membership site...that is it. I never had problems with being too nice to no man. :)

Sounds like you do not know how to market yourself on Clips4sale. You need to think of your clips as apart of your business model instead of being worried that you charging too much. Charge what you feel comfortable with and customers will come. Personally, I charge guys between 300 to 999 dollars on Niteflirt for a bunch of my videos. Guys still buy my videos because I give them what they want. I charge 100 for 5 mins of custom animation clips because I am not cheap and my customers know that it costs. So, maybe you should be thinking like a businesswoman instead of thinking about customer loyalty. Because no customer is truly loyal to you nor your brand. :)

I had a c4s member site priced reasonably for years and only had 2 joins in 2 years anyway. (I don't update my stores often though, need to get better at that). I decided that for the huge amount of content they were getting I didn't want to offer my clips at that price anyway.
I decided to do a fun little experiment in my smaller store. I added up the number of clips I was offering and the price they would pay without a membership and it came to $125, so I set my membership to $100. 2 people joined in the last six months, lol. Not a lot of money, but still more than I was getting before, and I doubt many pirates would bother joining at the higher prices. As I add clips I will increase the price, and that way they get a small discount but not enough to attract cheapo pirates.
I may do the same in my larger store just to see what happens.

I had a similar approach way back when, but I remember that there was a price cap (149.99$?) for the monthly membership cost. That kinda spoiled it after I had a few hundred clips.
One good thing is, ripping clips from the stream costs a lot of quality. I used to only put my SD clips in the membership area and when you rip those, you are left with poor quality.
For me the major problem was that my clips appeared all around youtube and it got me into trouble, so I had c4s disable my membership site as a whole.

You're right - I didn't realize it was capped at 149! I guess if I keep the site active I'll need to be selective which clips to leave in the member's area (that is after I get enough in my store where I feel the value is equal to that amount).

Hi everyone!
It's been a while and I thought to let you know how it's going. I've had a lot of things happening this fall, both in my personal life and at work, both good and bad things. I've had zero energy left to even think about the site. Plus my old computer got so slow it was a pain even trying to open final cut.
Eventually, things calmed down, I bought a new computer and now have about 15 clips ready. I haven't opened my store yet, since I want to have a backup of clips now before I have a good routine. I don't want to launch it and then stress about posting regularly. I also STILL haven't decided category lol. Most of my clips can fit so many cats. The one thing that I have in most videos, that I thought I would go for, is never the MAIN thing about the video. I'm so new at this and curious about trying out both different cats and my style.
Anyways, happy to get things going, and am SO looking forward to launching the store! I will let you know. And, once again, thanks to everyone for writing this thread - without this I would never have had the insight and probably wouldn't have given it a go.

Oh, and I am still insecure about the rules (since a got a no to using a cooking knife to cut food in a video) If any of my first ten videos are not approved I fear they won't let me start at all. If I have to make content that in no possible way could touch the rules, I would feel bored and have to rethink everything, since my fetishes are all about the weird side of kinkyness, taboo and power play. That would feel crazy strict, but I am thinking about when Sinna said she got shut down without a warning, for one video slightly bending a rule. It's a matter of how you apply a rule and the individual doing the judging.
Sinna (2pee4you)
01-08-2017, 12:10 PM
If you are in doubt about the rules, it's not a bad idea to just ask c4s support. I had situations where I really wanted to make a clip but I wasn't sure if I could post it because of the rules. C4s provided suggestions so I could make it happen without violating their rules.
Don't be afraid to try things. If you accidentally violate a rule (they are not always clear enough) c4s will contact you and give you a chance to make it right :)

I am sure many customers will like my clips and I think my gif:s and descriptions so far are on point without giving everything away. My clips are not hardcore to my standards, they are just implying things if that makes sense. It's just, those things are subjects that could be rulebreaking even if it doesn't visually exist in the video. Definitely not my intention to break rules just for the sake of it, but I feel I am in a greyzone and maybe having to tone down as a newbie. Just saying, any edgy clip on C4S could be considered breaking rules, if rules are applied very strict. I'll just have to see what they say I guess.

Thanks Alyssa but I know that what she said was helping/encouraging girls to break the rules.
In my opinion, I tried my best to be clear about my point of view on this. Since it's not clear enough, I edited my post (twice, thanks to auto-log-out).
I have wanted to write about this for ages, but I did not, for exactly the reason that people could understand it in a way I did not intend.
It comes down to this: I have personally not filmed so many clips because of the rules, about which I later learned that c4s was interpreting them totally differently than I did. For example, I thought for years that you could not act like you were drunk in a clip. Yet, there is a drinking category and I see drunk girls left and right in clips.
I had many requests for "coming home drunk" etc. but always declined them, because of this rule:
No Intoxication - Someone cannot be intoxicated during sex in any clips, videos or images. This includes, but is not limited to: Alcohol and all other substances that cause intoxication or can cause someone to be considered as being under the influence.
Then, after years, I found out that c4s interprets this rule literally:
Someone cannot be intoxicated during sex in any clips.
In other words, you can be as drunk as you want, just not DURING sex.
If you go through the rules, you will find many rules seemingly don't allow stuff you see every day on c4s. It's a matter of interpretation and it's not always clear.
That can make new studio owners very insecure. It has made me insecure for years and prevented me from making numerous clips that would have sold quite nicely, although they would not have been against the rules in the way c4s interprets them.
The whole intention of my post was to encourage new studios to be creative and find the legal limits, so they could stay within without being afraid to cross lines. My intention was NOT to show ways to circumvent the rules.
I myself am in one of the most rule bordering categories: toilet / pee stuff. I get confronted with clips violating the rules and reaching #1 in the toplists almost every day, while I keep very clear and honest. So I know how upset my post could have made you, Katy.
This was never my intention. It was my intention to help newcomers be less afraid to make a mistake and inhibit themselves from making good clips, which would probably be perfectly legal if they knew how the rules are being interpreted.
Edit: this was a good reminder why I kept the article about the rules as a draft. Exactly because of this.

Has anyone here ever hired male talent for either fetish clips or boy/girl vanilla content? My most recent b/g stuff is 2 years old, and there were only 3 or 4 videos to start with and I am getting tons and tons of requests to do more, and given the sales for my (non-HD, pre-decent-camera) old stuff, I know it would sell. Thing is, I have no idea where to even start. I'm single, with no male friends/acquaintances willing or able to step in, by the way. Thoughts?
Its way harder to find quality male talent than you think. Sure about 1/3 of your fans fantasize about filming with you but in reality most men will flake out, have ridiculous requirements (cant show my face, tattoos, do what you want on cam) or will fail to produce usable content (not be able to preform, not listen to direction ect)
If you choose to go through with it...
Make sure STD tested within 14 days, if your doing any "sexy" content
From what I've gathered, most male talent either pays a fee to be in clips or is paid by receiving one of this finished clips. When my hubby shot for a local produce I made sure he got paid for his time, but his other 'male talent' only received a copy of the clip & sexy time with the model. Dommes seem to charge a session fee or reduced session fee with a deposit to reduce the expense if the male-talent flakes out.
Make sure to get a copy of their IDs and have them sign a proper release.

Film as many fetishes as you want...I would film often enough in your best selling categories to stay in the carousel at the top of the category. Ideas for me might be prompted by anything, I do role plays on cam so that helps. When I'm doing mundane things at home something might pop into my head...I found I had more ideas when I was only filming clips and staying in that zone. Other girls get ideas from looking other clips. Finding a category that you want to post in and thinking what you could do with it. You can send an email through C4S to everyone subscribed to receive them and ask if there is anything guys would like to see more or less of.

and they dont want to pay more
i dont understand them
i am going to increase all prices up to 30%

Maybe you should change your fetishes and content production this year? I must agree with Ruedel about the twerking fetish videos. Most girls who make money off twerking are on vine and youtube. They have huge instagram followings and market the hell out of themselves. So, you need to go back to brainstorming different fetishes to help your stores make some money. :)
i work all 2016 year with clear $100 monthly income :(
i dont have any chance to earn more, because content production is very expensive

i work in femdom since 2000 year and i can not change niche, because i am not a girl
professional twerk-girl fee is nearly $200 for 1 hour of shooted video :)

How twerk become a femdom?:O
Try to shoot next door girls who will shake their asses for 15$ and check your sales, maybe they will on the same level like now)

Don't mind me please, but I am just so happy that I am back in the top 50 on c4s after all these months of hard work. So happy. I have been working extensively on adult-income and now this happens. Feels like a reward :)

No they don't. If customers only want girls with "ideal bodies", explain why BBWs are so popular? I just counted and 9 of the top 50 clips on c4s right now are BBW clips. And several of the top 50 stores are BBW stores. It's not even just BBWs though, most of the girls in the top 50 aren't 100% flawless 19 year old supermodels. In fact none of them are, from what I can see. Some are a little older, most don't have totally "perfect" skinny toned bodies. Normal girls with normal bodies actually sell best in my experience. Perhaps because they're more realistic and believable? I don't know.
Does nobody else remember a while ago, when Boyru was asking for advice about how to make more money, I found his store and gave him loads of advice, you guys all gave him loads of advice? The main point of which was to make different content, because what he is currently making is clearly not selling? And he ignored the fuck out of all of us and just kept complaining?
Your prices aren't the issue. The girls' bodies aren't the issue. Their feet, clothes, accents aren't the issue. The customers being cheap or greedy isn't the issue. The issue is that the content you make doesn't sell. It's not popular. People don't want to buy it.
I would tell you (again) to change category/fetishes, try new things etc but you'll just ignore me and keep complaining. So I'm going to give you my ACTUAL advice, not sugar coated. If you're making $100 profit per month, this job isn't for you and you need to find something else.
