I did, but I wasn't sure it was legit. Has anyone here tried it?
I'm gonna test it out by putting some older content up. I'll keep you all updated on how it works out.

Anybody get an invitation to xHamster Premium? I guess they're getting into the clip selling game. I might try it out by uploading some older content and seeing how it does.
Yes I did too. Haven't put any content on there yet though.
July was good for me. Nothing spectacular but I also slacked off a few days, so I'm sure there was much more potential. I'm really determined to keep my focus this month. No procrastinating or getting distracted by jewelry shopping shows or youtube videos lol. Although if I go on youtube I usually watch Gary Vaynerchuck's content and he's super inspiring.

Never mind. I guess fraud will just exist until they get tired of it.

I believe a tech issue indeed happened.
But a fraud also happened. Because I can see clearly consequences of that fraud.

The small refunds I've had have been duplicate sales. They've been from clip regulars and for whatever reason, they purchased the same clips. I'm guessing due to the cart issues.

Are they trying to say there hasn't been any fraud and that all of these sales are just duplicates and whatnot? Why are they not acknowledging the fraud?
The duplicate orders issue has been around for months, if not almost a year. It's only the last few months that these MEGA refunds/chargebacks started. Anyone who has suffered them can go back and check to see if it was duplicate clips vs a fraudster just buying a ton of unique clips.

I don't understand how he's answering a question no one asked. As far as I know, no one is mad about duplicate orders. People want to know why there's so much fraud & what is being done about it. Apparently we won't be getting an answer to that question.

Right, Miss Ju?! It isn't just duplicate orders, I haven't had many of those in months. What I have had a serious increase of is refunds due to fraud. I confirmed this with clips4sale support that it was fraudulent charges and this summer I've had $147 for July in fraudulent charges that were refunded and in June I believe or May it was over $200.

How big is the watermark on your videos?
Is it easily cut off?
I make mine big & a bit where my body is behind it. Only one guy has complained on my site in almost 3 years. Most thieves on porn are lazy. There are programs to remove it, but a bit more of a hassle & rendering times. Now, if all they have to do is bring in the sides of he video more to hide it & make you more of the focus then render. It's no big deal.
Most people put small off to the side watermarks.. Meanwhile major brands like LV, Nike, Michael Kors, Chanel put their logo & brand all over their products.

My trick was to put it in various spots and change it up every few minutes (randomly) during the video. There's no way they could crop it without a major PITA or jarring the video all over the place - at best they could get rid of my TM for just a few minutes before it popped up somewhere else.

Is there a fee for refunds/chargebacks?
How long can people issue a chargeback or get a refund? I guess what I'm saying is, what if a few months go by and then you get a ton of chargebacks and you don't have money in your bank account to handle it - you're fucked with bank fees, etc. Is there a period of time where it is no longer a concern? (A few months, for example?)

To the clip producers? On C4S, no. You are only deducted the amount (your cut) that you received for the clip/clips/order.
I thought it was 6 months, but I could be wrong. I just did a Google search for this and the answer I found was 120 days from the date of the transaction.
Also wanted to add, C4S doesn't take money out of your bank account. They deduct it from your payout. I don't know what happens if your chargebacks exceed your overall monthly payout.

Has anyone else (outside the US) had to change their payment option from cheque to something else?
I just changed my address and whilst I was doing it support said they no longer send international cheques anymore, I don't think I'd been emailed about it or anything so I'm just wondering if anyone else knows about this?
Arguably this might be old news that I somehow missed but I was only $1 from payout so that's a tad annoying as it was the option where I got to keep the most money :p
That's news to me! I receive cheques and hope I will still be getting one this month. We can use First Choice instead but that's more expensive than the cheque option but may be cheaper than C4S direct transfer fee.

Those terms are set by the credit or banking industry. The longer you take to dispute a charge the harder it is to get the money back. Except for porn, they are 99% likely to get their money back. It's 6 months in general, but have heard up to a year.
There have been a few bad apples in this biz who did card banging like crazy. Guys sign up to a site for say $29.99 then their cards charged 3 to 4 times over. Some of those guys are just now being arrested. Even though they did this years ago but the sites were closed down due to losing their payment processor.

Yup. And stuff like that is what gives the rest of the adult webmasters or the adult industry in general, a bad rep. Another trick people used to do was not give a non-recurring option, thus forcing the customer to cancel and *hoping* they would forget. But then, customers are known to do their fair share of shady stuff too..... (password trading, fraud, site-rips, piracy, etc).

It should be 6 months but a few years ago, I had a chargeback for an order that was 2 years old. I asked support about the 6 months thing that I had read about - they said the bottom line is, they have to honor all chargebacks. Even for orders 2 years back.
The good thing is, in reality, it's extremely rare to get a chargeback for an order that was placed more than a few months ago, let alone years.

I think it is a pretty scummy thing. I bet it targets people that need money fast but probably can't buy it back. They won't be able to update the store with YOUR content though. So what happens if you sell them your store and they upload someone else's content to it and you buy it back? What do they do with other content? Why would they buy it to never update it? It wouldn't make any money just sitting there.
What happens if you sell your store and they change the log in and you go to C4S and tell them someone got into your account? It would have to be against some part of their TOS to take over a store, you'd think?
I also love how their website has NOTHING on it about their 'studios' or anything. Just a form to fill in to apply to join their studio. It REEKS of people trying to take advantage of desperate people.
Never worked in the industry? Even better reason to join our team. We will register you an account under one of the top webcam sites, instruct you on how to get started and provide you with our daily pay service. No experience is necessary as our team of professionals will guide you from to start to finish.
Want to receive a fast payment by tipping?
1. Tip us here.
2. Upon tipping, you'll be asked to leave an optional message. Please include your contact email address.
3. Await and email and enjoy getting paid fast!
All of that screams scummy/scammy.

I got it and immediately reported it to Clips4Sale support who immediately reported it to management. The website asks for your store username and password which is obviously super scammy and is against clips4sale rules. Hopefully they'll take care of it before any less savvy clip-makers get scammed.

I haven't got my check yet. Sometimes it doesn't get here till the 10th. I haven't seen a check come before the 8th in almost a year and half. I miss getting them on the 4th, or 5th. I don't think they print and mail checks on the 1st anymore like they used to. I think they don't mail them till the 6th or 7th most months. I'm not sure what changed, i'm just guessing. Hi everyone my first post please be kind! Haha.
I made it through the entire thread after several days, SO much awesome information and I hope to contribute where I can.
I've had a store on C4S now a couple of months and had a weird experience today.
A guy that contacted me just after I started to do a particular clip got in touch today to say he has 'lost' the clip and can I send him a link. Now that would be okay except that clip has never once sold. Not once! He sent me a copy of his 'receipt' and the clip ID is different. Plus it never sold!
He is clearly trying to rip me off so I replied saying it was odd, clip never sold, best get in touch with C4S yourself and so will I for that matter! Does he not realise I might look at my records? It's laughable really.
I wondered if I can give his name on here? I will quite happily but don't want to name & shame if I'm not allowed!

I had the same experience as you, about a month ago. The guy contacted me, saying that he lost the clip, and giving me "receipt". That particular clip was sold couple of times, but when i search thru the admin page giving his details about this clip, nothing happend. He clearly didn't bought this clip, and even if he did...well, that's not my fault, he always can purchase again, but of course he was a scammer from his first sentence ;)

I've never had that, but I do occasionally receive emails from guys saying "Hey I loved that X clip you uploaded the other day, super hot" and I'm like... uhh... it never sold once. I'm not sure why they say stuff like that. I guess they want to appear like respectable paying customers when they're really not?

I have a question and am feeling a little desperate. I've had a c4s account forever, never made many clips, just posted some of my cam sessions with no audio and had a handful of sales in the last couple years. Recently I revamped everything, got a new look, so I deleted my old clips (I've gained weight since then and didn't want the comparison) and added a bunch of new ones. I think they're even better than the old ones. I can't get my audio to sync and have a lot of noise in the background so I've uploaded these with royalty free music tracks or no audio at all.
I've been promoting and getting way more traffic than I'd ever had before, nearly 100 a day sometimes, but not one sale. It's only been about a week and maybe I'm being impatient but my prices are marked about as low as they can go (due to no true audio) and not one nibble. Is audio really that important or could it be something else? Most of my clips are between 2 - 5 minutes long. They're high quality, well lit, very sexy in my opinion. I appreciate any insight!

I started my store from scratch in the middle of June and didn't sell anything for the first week either, I thought I never would! It's slow but improving and the only thing I've been doing is uploading consistently since then. My clips are varied and quite random to tell the truth and I still have no idea what people want on there! You have to be patient and keep going but I'm really new on there and my experience is way way less than most on here, sure someone can help much more than I can!

Is there a way to fix the audio problem? Have to Googled for an answer? Maybe one of us can help you? Because the way I'm reading this, you won't be able to have any audio in any of your clips until you get it fixed.
Personally, I think audio is important, guys like to hear your voice. It's a way they connect with you....especially if you do POV style clips.

I'm dealing with some pretty heavy depression recently and pushing myself as hard as I can because I really need the money but it's almost impossible to make new clips. I freeze up trying to think of what to make, the theme and how to go about it, not wanting to look stupid, etc etc. So I've mostly been making clips out of the cam shows I recorded a few weeks ago. I usually listen to music while camming though and don't want to deal with copyright infringement shit so that's why those are silent. Just made a new clip a few days ago and hit the audio sync problem. I'll probably be able to figure it out, it's just a matter of motivation and my well's running pretty dry.
I wish something that's already posted on c4s would sell in the meantime.. is it normal for you girls to get over 100 views in a day and not make a sale?

How about this.....pick a fetish you like, maybe write up a loose script (or a list of things to say/talk about in the clip), film it and have a look at it. If you like it, edit and post it. If you don't, make notes about what you didn't like or would change and then try again. This is how we all get better. Just doing it over and over again, you feel more comfortable in front of the camera.

It's very hard to motivate yourself, I suffer from either gad or OCD (no ones even sure) and it causes me to feel depression sometimes, do you upload different versions of the same clip? I do a HD and SD and that halves the amount I need to film, and I film as much as I can on days the depression isn't bad, (that may be harder tho if your main issue is depression as mine isn't and it's a byproduct)
Also 100% normal, I average around 100 views a day and would say I get sales 50% of the days, that's after 8 months and at the start I hardly sold
Idk what shows you do either but fetish based stuff does far better than vanilla - I'm away ATM but 2pee4u sells a starter.book very cheap that gives very good info - ill link you once I'm home if someone else doesn't first, it's a hard road and not quick money imo, you have to work out your niche then build an audience & it's more saturated than it used to be, I'm only just looking at $100 a month (note: I didn't work effectively at all at first)
Edit: for more detail, I sit down and decide how many of what fetishes (using previous info on sales in each fetish for me) then I'll think of rough scenarios where I can display that fetish - I tend to pick 2-4 fetishes to focus on, try offering customs to, recently I've been using them as my daily updates - helps for those days I just can't

Sorry to hear Double Rainbow. Depression makes working for yourself oh so hard. Give yourself one goal a day, and if the goal is large than break it into bite size pieces.
It is true that you just have to keep going until you find the niche that is right for you. Focus on getting that audio issue fixed asap, and try a few niches that aren't over saturated as well.

I think everyone has some good advice. Audio is very important. And if you don't have "no audio" in your descriptions, add that because if someone buys & doesn't know there's no audio, he might not buy again. For sure work on getting audio fixed.
Don't be too hard on yourself. 100 hits isn't that many. And I'm not saying that to be a jerk at all, only to say that with only 100 hits, it's not surprising that your sales are very low. I make about $0.04-$0.08 per hit on average. That means if I only had 100 hits, I might have a chance to make $4-$8/day. There are lots of other factors like placement, which you can't have yet if you're not making sales, variety in fetishes, quality & quantity.
I have about 850 unique clips & a following I've established over the last 5 yrs, plus quality content. So what I'm saying is: just be patient with yourself & the sales. Start with content that won't stress you out too much, but also realize that if you put in the bare minimal effort (only posting cam shows w/o sound), you can't expect to get much in return.
Not trying to be a jerk at all, just saying that having realistic expectations is helpful, especially if dealing with depression. Also, really needing the money can be stressful. Maybe just work on one issue at a time: fix your sound, then try a fetish you're comfortable with, then do that fetish again. Then try something new without making it too complicated.

As for custom clips, I might respectfully disagree with Pixie on that one. With a caveat. If the idea of making customs stresses you out & makes you feel more frozen, don't do it yet. Wait until you get more comfortable with the fetishes & with being on camera. Clips can be so different than camming. But if the idea of doing exactly what someone tells you to do makes you feel more comfortable, absolutely go for it. Personally, I love custom clips because I don't have to think of ideas. I think it's a very personal thing & you have to decide what's right for you.
If you are apprehensive, maybe ask for a friend's help (maybe a fellow camgirl). Have her send you a mock custom & film it. See how you feel about the experience. If you like it, go for it!

As for custom clips, I might respectfully disagree with Pixie on that one. With a caveat. If the idea of making customs stresses you out & makes you feel more frozen, don't do it yet. That's a good point, I should specify I'm really picky with the customs I take haha - that being said one I did do is my most sold clip to date on c4s (very great feeling lmao)

Absolutely. Some of my customs are my best sellers too. I'm also super picky about what customs I take. Good point. Only taking customs you're comfortable with is very helpful.

I agree Pixiie if I can do one I will, it's one less idea I have to come up with and chances are others will like it! I also don't charge a lot more for customs than my normal clips but I have to say I only do ones that don't take much time at all. Ones that are really awkward and specific I find are not worth the trouble. Not that I've had that many requests yet lol!
