I'd super appreciate any tips from my store (I've done this a few times I know but you girls always give me great feedback haha)

Ok, here goes! This is just me and others may feel differently. My first impression when I land on your store is that it's dark...that's not just the background, it's the gifs too. I'll explain...

I'm 51, and at my age it's easier to read black on white, which is why I have it that way round on my store and because I'm used to reading that way having worked in offices, and my guess is it's the same for many customers...I say that but my mother actually has her laptop white on black and it drives me mad, I can't be on there for long but she is unusual with that as it is a known thing as we get older. I can't see as well in dim light as my teenage daughter for instance.

What is also creating the dark/muted impression is the lighting and lack of colour in your clips/gifs. If you could improve your lighting and inject more colour, they would be more eye catching, then the dark background would be a better platform for your gifs. If you momentarily changed your background to white and the writing to black, you may see your gifs standing out more as there is a lot of black in your clips.

Talking about yourself in the third person can distance yourself from the customer. I do this myself sometimes too but it may be an idea to write some of your descriptions so that you are engaging the viewer with you directly in the activity you're engaging in, making it personal, so they are already entering the scenario and hopefully then wanting to buy the clip so they can experience the whole thing. So you're going for an emotional engagement right from the start (that's the difference between being enticing rather than purely descriptive, and I choose snapshots to reach out to the customer too...eye contact, looking like something is happening).

Sound - this is important to guys and they want to know if you are talking or not. I use preview where possible and the start of the clip so they don't see too much but they can hear my voice (having an English accent is important to some) and check the quality of the clip/audio.

I hope that helps :)

I've just noticed that all my clips in the Crush category have been removed. From the notice it said only ones that suggested animals in the title would be removed but no, they have removed ALL of them and I have no mention of animals in any title.

It's worth checking yours if you have any. I don't use animals at all and have emailed Studio Support about this, they replied telling me what the rules are...arrrggghhhh! So much for a relaxing Saturday...

I received an answer almost three hours ago stating they're "experiencing server issues and that the programmers are working on it." It's the same song over and over. My GIFs are still not working. I replied back asking if I should try re-uploading the GIF itself OR should I delete the whole clip, re-upload the clip and then add the clip back to my store. No answer yet.

Every day there is a new issue. I didn't see the posts this morning and posted my clip and the gif was broken. Now I have to delete the clip, go into editing and shave a half of second from the clip, render it, reupload it, and then wait for the site to start working correctly. This seems to be my routine every damn day recently. I've also have been uploading less clips this month because of all the website problems and that's costing me money. I really wish C4S would get their shit together when it comes to getting their site to run properly. I rarely have these kind of issues on the other clip sites I sell on.

You're right!! I just checked my store and the category CRUSH is gone from the drop down list of categories, BUT the clips (I only have a few), are still in my store. I searched my store for crush and they came up that way. Did you try that Katy? or did you just go by category?

Oh that's weird, searching for crush does bring them up, I just looked at the category drop down to start with. C4S asked me to send them all the titles...I don't know why as they should be able to see them themselves! Heard nothing further yet...

Just had an email - "They should have all been moved over to the Food and Object Crush category"

1. They have not been moved to food and object crush

2. They are meant to be in crush

Crush is still a category, why the heck would they want to move them?

The issue is that they have stopped crush showing in the drop down list in our stores.

Edit - apparently they are making a decision on whether to keep the crush category or not. I don't see the problem because the TOS is clear...not that some seem to bother ready it! Maybe the want to make it only food and object crush so people don't post animal stuff but I doubt that would stop them.

Maybe you don't need to go for such time consuming measures as re-rendering. I wrote a checklist on paper to fix a broken gif from yesterday and it worked! (ofc YMMV)

*desc./title saved? --> delete clip listing

*log out, delete last hour of history, log in (NaN error prevention)

*Add new clip --> is the deleted listing's clip in the drop down (I found it)

*check for NaN error (luckily I had none)

*upload gif with different filename (just add 1 extra character)

And this worked, re-listed clip showed up on main page with 4 minute delay with a functioning thumbnail.

Regarding the "drop-down" on "add new clip", in the past when (for whatever reason) I had to add a clip that I knew was already on the server but couldn't find it in the drop-down, I just re-uploaded it with the same exact name, maybe there were times when I slightly changed the filename, so if it's not showing up on the drop-down, simply re-uploading could work.

Aaaargh!
I went in to edit clip site to just change a minor thing and then my background image was gone. Nothing I do seem to get it to save again. I uploaded it over and over, even tried other pictures, tried html instead - and nothing works. I know I had a huge problem getting the background image to work the first time around and as I remember it seemed to be random why it finally worked. Anyone know what the problem might be? My store is plain and boring now :(

New message from C4S
"IMPORTANT SCHEDULED SERVER MOVE & MAINTENANCE NOTICE

We are in the process of completing a scheduled server move which may cause downtime for the studio admin and may cause intermittant issues with uploading and adding new clips or images.

The move may also cause some older files (clips 3 years or older with no sales) to be temporarily unavailable for download as they are on a back-up server, which will be offline during the move.

Intermittant issues may last until Thursday, October 12, 2017 as the new systems come fully online.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Studio Support: https://support.clips4sale.com

Thank you for your patience while we complete this server upgrade.

Oh so that's the issue. If it was a "scheduled server move" they couldn't at least send out a little message last week giving us a heads up? I would of made a point to release everything earlier =/

Now I'm trying to add a clip to my store and it's telling me "Unable to compute duration of clip". And this happens just when I broke into the Top 50 a couple days ago =/ Now I can't even put out new stuff. It's a little frustrating. Oh well. I guess this is the time to film and work on my customs. Let me go back now and see if it's working.

HA! When do they ever do this? Only after enough of us have bitched to support about the various problems do they *then* let us know......

BUT....C4S is the biggest clips site, most traffic, yadda yadda......

PS..Congrats on Top 50

Yes you are right. No other clip site comes close to C4S in regards to traffic/sales (for me at least). I wonder why they never tell us anything (until last minute). For example, if they would of given us a heads up a few days ago, they wouldn't of been inundated with tickets the past couple days. And many of the producers would of planned clip releases ahead of time. It would of been a win/win for everyone. But it is what it is.
I'll wait it out and focus on filming. I've been uploading new clips onto Iwantclips and even though I've been making more sales on that site, it still comes no where close to what I make on C4S. But money is money and every little bit counts.

Hopefully the server issues get resolved before the 12th. Support messaged me back and said to keep logging out/logging in. This might help. But it hasn't =/

And thank you =)

It might be related to the server move which has caused a few bugs in admin." Really hope this gets solved NOW - the whole look and feeling of my store is gone :(

Sooo.... Don't make any changes in your stores for now, it might fuck everything up!

I have an question about the categories called "Live Cams" and "Voyeur Cams"? What is the difference between them really? Thanks :)

naomi_doll
10-12-2017, 06:50 AM
I think in this case Voyeur Cams means there is no interaction with the camera, like the person isn't aware (or doesn't care) that they are being filmed. I've always thought Live Cams was a recording of a cam show that was originally live, but I might be wrong.

Newbie question: can an amateur make 500+ a week from fetish videos on c4s (or on other video platforms, for that matter)? If so, how many videos a day/week should be made and which fetishes would be the most sought for? I know it differs for everyone but I wanted just an insight. I have some non fetish videos and it's not working too well for me, and I was thinking about doing more fetish or just closing my studio and focusing on something else..
I am asking because I am kind of stressed about the lack of traffic on the webcam sites and I cannot work on token sites so I thought I should try videos selling too, before quitting completely... Ive been camming for the last 15 years so I really don't know what to do with my life at this point :(
Thank you for any idea or insight and I wish the best of luck to everyone!

Yes, $500+ a week can be made on C4S selling fetish clips. And I think most of us who post on this forum would consider ourselves 'amateur' in the sense that we don't have any professional training in doing videos.

Sorry, but there is no formula for how many clips a day/week it takes to achieve that as it is dependent on many different factors. I know that's probably not the answer you are looking for but it's the honest one.

Someone with a loyal following might be able to get away with posting 3 clips a week and make $500+ and someone else might have to update every day to achieve that.

Also can't tell you which fetishes to do as that also differs for everyone. Doing a fetish just for the sake of it, but it's not something you really understand/are into/enjoy doing, is going to come across in clips. I would instead suggest finding fetishes *you* enjoy doing.

I've said it before here, I don't think non-fetish stuff sells well on C4S. Guys go there looking for fetish stuff, not vanilla.

I'll also say....YES, money CAN be made at C4S. But have a plan, see what sells for you, try and stick with that but also try a few new categories once in a while. It's not quick money where you just do A, B and C and the money rolls in. It takes time, consistency and perseverance.

Hi ladies! I have a question for the technical among you please...

I'm trying to upload a clip in 1080 x 720 for the first time, usually I use 720 x 480. I've tried uploading a WMV (on Chrome) and an MP4 (on Firefox just in case) and I'm getting this error

Error mount: running fusermount: exec: "fusermount": executable file not found in $PATH stderr:

WTF? I even googled it and got a foreign language! I have a feeling I'm doing something incredibly stupid and making an obvious mistake but I just can't see it. I'm wondering if there are general issues uploading today as nobody had posted any problems here.

Can anyone shed any light please? I haven't emailed C4S because I'm probably just being a fool...

TIA! xx

I don't recommend deleting, it is good to build up the quantity of clips in your store. Guys will occasionally buy vanilla. Just change the focus of your store, add new stuff.

SophiaSylvan

Also, some pretty vanilla stuff is a fetish to some people. Add keywords to your 'nilla clips that have fetish related features, like colour of your hair, body type, handjob, etc. People fetishize everything and anything from vacuum cleaners to garbage trucks and fingernails and boogers, lol.

I just opened my store yesterday and sold 2 clips to the same person within a few hours. Nothing since, but I'm hoping to work up to making 1k a month eventually. Here's to hoping all the information I got from this thread sunk in and will help me be successful.

I just bought a new converter and realized the old one was the reason all my wmv:s have bad sound when my mp4:s don't. Now I want to replace all of those wmv:s in my store. Can I upload fresh files from the new converter, with the same names - will they then automatically replace the old files or will everything fuck up?...
I tried uploading one with the filename changed and it didn't say the file already exists (which it should, shouldn't it? Or is it only when the name is the same?) and I didn't find a way to replace the old file with it.
Changing all of them manually would be time consuming, but I'm thinking I could at least start with the popular ones that still get the occasional sale.

Just finished reading all 301 pages over many weeks and wanted to say a HUGE Thank You to @Sinna. Her book has made a huge change in our lives and was absolutely critical in doing so. FYI, this is Jessie posting tonight.

Due to us both having chronic illness, we both had to stop working. Cece 2 years ago, me a few months ago. Cece wanted to start camming to supplement our income. However she ran into the problem of consistency in getting on cam due to said illness and the internet upload speed sucking here. When we traveled I found Sinna’s book during a layover in LAX after seeing some info on clip making. 5 hours later during final approach to our destination I was finishing it.

I could have researched online and found all the info in her book, yes. But Cece has issues with memory at times. The noise level in this thread is an example of her problems, she would not get anything out of reading it because of the noise of people having pay concerns, site down posts and on and on. Sorting through the noise on the web is not something she can do. However when she read Sinna’s book, she got it quickly and really understood what it was all about. It was something she could do and more importantly something she could enjoy.

I handle the photography, video, tech and other stuff. I get her setup with the marketing side, like Twitter, and coach her to use it, then she runs like the wind with it. She loves the clip making part of it and I have discovered a passion for photographing her in new and wonderful ways.

Last night she made her first 2 sales, and she was sleeping at the time. Today she got to tell her Doctor how much she has improved in the last month and the Doctor told her it is likely the change in her outlook that has occurred in that time since stress and worry can cause flare ups (guess what she has been doing in that time), and to keep it up! Then during dinner she told me that this is something she enjoys doing more than anything she has done before. Also she said, shopping in the produce section has never been so exciting in her life!

Sinna’s simple gesture of putting her guide together has changed our lives in ways she will never know. We both feel like we have our lives back. We can enjoy life again.

A Heartfelt Thank You,
Jessie and Cece
CeceCpl

P.S. Sinna, if you want to use this as an indorsment, please feel free to. I would head over to Patreon right now, but Cece wants to do that herself.

So I am asking for some advice, so I recently found a pirate site that is selling videos from c4s. Not only my videos, but many other c4s videos as well. I have done the piracy thing with c4s already. Does anyone know about how long it will take to get this site taken down?

Sorry to dredge this back up but could someone who received the name of this site please PM it to me? I would love to cross it off my people-to-dmca-the-hell-out-of to do list. Thank you.

It seems with consistent upload people can get 1k or 2k per month, however this is my 7th month on c4s and i have not succeeded in any of that. Poor sales, poor hits. I wonder whats going wrong even with daily upload. Maximum hit would be 300+ in a day for me till date. However the maximum hits is something which i get only once a week or so. Otherwise it is usually around 100-160

This includes, but is not limited to: Swallowing any living or dead Goldfish, Fish, Frogs, Insects etc.

Any studio that currently has this type of content is now in a mandated account review.

Stores with more than one clip showing a living or dead animal, insect or fish being swallowed will closed while the account review is being carrried out by staff.

Studios that have been closed due to having any content with a living or dead animal, insect, fish (Vertebrate or Invertebrate), etc. must immediately go into your admin and deactivate and delete the clips from the server which can be done on the NEW UPLOADER ADD/DEL FILES page.

Once the clips have been deactivated and deleted you can have your account reviewed by contacting Studio Support at: https://support.clips4sale.com

IMPORTANT: Any attempts to bypass this rule and post banned content will result in the immediate closure of your studio and withholding of payout while a management review is carried out on your studio and/or master account.

It is possible that some stores, doing normal food and object crush, were included in the closures due to words used in active clips, Ex. Goldfish Crackers.

Please contact Studio Support at: https://support.clips4sale.com if your store was closed and you do not have any of the banned clips.

Weirdness occurring on my Sales page in the Detailed sales bit, you can't see the customer's full name anymore, only their initials? I quite liked seeing the full name on there!

Lovely. I’d love to list all the ways this totally screws over producers, but I’ll leave it out of the hands of the lurkers. Sometimes I think C4S is intentionally trying to make our jobs harder.

I have a question regarding HTML for my clips. I would like to have something nice looking for my clip descriptions, but I don't have time to really learn HTML at that level (30 hr/week vanilla job and full time school). I am pretty good in Photoshop and could make a nice looking ad page of sorts with the video info and a few stills from the video.

I also have Adobe creative cloud so I wanted to try out Muse and create a page then export into HTML. When I try and export though it asks me for the url to post it to, but I'm looking to just copy paste into the video description so it looks a bit nicer. Can I just add in the url of the clip or is that not possible?

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would prefer to use an Adobe product since I know how to use those and it won't be a huge learning curve, but I'm willing to try a free software as well. I don't need clickable links for now, just want something cute and visually appealing and easy to create.

This is probably not going to be helpful, as it doesn't answer your question but.... I don't know what your preview gif's look like, but I would definitely put more into that than pretty looking descriptions. Guys are visual creatures and many times I've written short (but enticing) descriptions, but the gif was hot and the clip(s) sold great! I used to do just several rotating still images for my gifs, but once I changed to (what do we call them? 'live action'?) a few short 'scenes' in my gifs (like pretty much everyone in the Top 50 does), I definitely noticed the difference in my sales. From that alone! So personally, I swear by it. Guys can see you move a bit and I think it's just more enticing. But if you are already doing that, then just never mind everything I just said.
