I look through top 50 studios now and then, and one popular studio takes all custom fees through C4S tribute only. It is openly stated on their page. Is this a recent rule change or can you get this a deal with C4S somehow? Tributes gives you 75%, the same deal as most payment processors, but less hassle with everything on the same company, and of course it would have the huge benefit of helping you get towards that top 50 list!

I do the same as you Alyssa. For clips I don't want on my store or for some other reason, I will use Project Maenad.
As far as I am aware, we're still not allowed to use tribute payments for custom clips.

This past week my clip descriptions show keywords instead of related categories. Anyone else?
For about a month I've had several tickets to support about various things and gotten no replies, for most of them I didn't even get the "ticket opened" notice. Tried both direct e-mail and to open ticket at support page. Chat was too busy last time I checked. I noticed sometime before summer that they didn't bother anymore to reply about bugs that got fixed fast, but now I've also asked about things I still want an answer to. If I try to check the process on the support page it says "The web interface is currently unavailable. Please reply to your ticket email to add or respond to your issue." Those e-mails I'm not getting... What is this?

Opened my studio the end of July and got my first refund today. It was a short video so it was only a few dollars, but I'm so bummed about it.
I know the feeling, opened January and got my first refund a few weeks ago. Since I had trouble uploading clips at that time, I'm worried it's corrupt and have asked support 3 times if there was a known reason for the refund (it was not a double purchase) and have yet to receive an answer.

Support is usually great but I've had the same Alyssa, when the issue is a technical one I get a very generic reply and it takes a long time to come. If it's a simpler question or enquiry I very often have an answer in a few minutes.
In other news, I had my first refund yesterday for a clip that sold the night before. I have sold it before no issues so I don't know why but I guess it was going to happen, just glad it was only one clip. :(

Yes it wasn't a duplicate order that I could see. I would have been pissed if it was a membership Sylvy although I have put my membership price up to the maximum and hardly any of my clips are in it, I'd like to close my membership completely but I'm not sure how to do it. Anyone buying it would be stupid though, it's very bad value for money with a few early, less than stellar clips!

I was so dumb that he bought it for 12.99 because the idiot here didnt set the price for it because someone told me memberships werent sold anymore same as videos and pics, so he bought it and i got really mad. Well, then i set my price to 69.99 and since then no one has bought it. Then one day i was putting my sales on the sheet and saw the fucking refund, i got mad as f**** and emailed support, that was then what they said abt it. I really could hang this fucker by the balls. lmao

Sometimes if you're listing a video & click on the empty space on the page next to option to add the video to your membership, it will activate your membership. I once had a guy buy mine at the default of $12.99. I hadn't activated my membership page, so I looked & there were 4 or 5 videos in it. They were old videos so it didn't bother me so much, but I deleted the videos from the membership & am very careful now when I post clips.

I always contact support and ask them why the refund was made. Usually they suspect fraud, and that's why they do it. But one time a guy said he wanted to download the clip on his phone. Sometimes refunds are given due to the clip being purchased twice, on accident (cart issues). And sometimes it's just a new customer putting in a big first clip order and C4S (usually) required proof of identity (for a new customer/big order) and if a customer doesn't provide that, they refund the order. (But they weren't able to download, so that's okay).

I'm going to assume that everyone has read that message posted in the admin a couple of days ago about the C4S sales contest? Well I just logged in and I saw a new message in regards to it and I don't understand #3 (tips for increasing sales):
Tip #3 - You can offer goods (ex. extra clips sent outside of C4S, autographed photos etc.) or services (ex. private chat, webcam etc.) to your customers in order to increase sales.
Personally, I'm not bothering with the contest, but I thought this tip was odd. Do people do that, above suggestions, just to get guys to buy more clips? I won't. lol Give guys MORE (FREE) stuff in *hopes* that they'll buy more clips. Eh, I've already said it before....my best and most consistent customers are the quietest and never ask for anything. It's *always* the freeloaders/guys who've bought ONE clip who ask for stuff, make requests, etc. (I know....I sound totally judgy..haha...it's the Findom in me...... give guys stuff for free, WHAT?! lol)

Tips for How to Boost Your Sales for the C4S Clip Sales Contest!
Tip #1 - Take advantage of your admin email feature to send your unique code to your C4S customers.
Tip #2 - You can attach your unique CID code to the end of any clip links you are posting online. Make sure you add the code correctly by adding your full unique CID code the the end of your clip URL.

Exactly!! We are always trying to make sales, a contest does not motivate me to do anything more that I already do. And I'm not going to hound my customers to buy more, because they either do or don't. The Top 50 Stores on the Main page already show us who is making the most money on that site.

You know.....I wonder if those link codes are still going to work AFTER the contest is over. And I mean, that they'll still redirect to the clip. That would be a shame if someone changed a bunch of their links for the contest and then afterwards they became dead links or just redirected to the C4S home page.

Really upset because a regular of mine is ready to buy about 50 clips through my special link to help me with the contest, but his purchases are not being counted towards the contest. I have 2 sales so far from other people that have counted towards the contest, so I know my link is working, but it's not working for him. I asked Clips4Sale, they told me his cookies must not be enabled. He said they are. I told him to clear his cache and try again. Still nothing. So I'm not really motivated to continue with the contest when it doesn't work for some people. I was really ready to put a lot of effort into this as well. Was going to run a christmas raffle to promote it, and I don't normally do shit like raffles (or promotion in general really lol).

Just had 3 days of a guy buying my clips using stolen cards and of course getting refunds. I had to contact support to get downloads turned off for new customers until the charges were verified. Almost $200 of clips. Very very disheartening.

He is asking me if I can do this legally if he signs a contract or whatever necessary. Now, I'm not gonna do this since I don't want to cause trouble he might regret, or have personal contact like that. I'm not sure there is a way to be 100% sure either that I am talking to the actual person that would be outed. But I'm curious what you're thoughts are on this. Anyone done something similar?

Fuck no I wouldn't do it personally although obviously a contract does protect you but I think for a few $$$ it's way more trouble than it's worth. This could come back on him in years to come and like you say, it might not actually be him at all!

When I first saw the contest, I told my SO that it was because C4S has to be doing badly. I think between the stolen credit cards and the lack of sales lots of people seem to be suffering from I think they are starting to get desperate.
Allowing us to offer things in exchange for clicking a link? Seems weird and desperate. No thank you. It's NOT worth it to me in the off chance I could make more money (fat chance!)

I cannot upload anything. Unable to compute duration for clip. I can't use the add/del file thing either. I've tried to clear my cookies and cache and still doesn't work. Anyone else having issues?

Most of my clips i have issues when uploading the first time, like they upload till a certain % and then stop and i have to upload it all over again or a bigger file takes like 3hs to upload....crazy!

I tried removing them and reuploading, reconverting them, uploading my iwc version, testing the iwc version on iwc (which does 100% work, trying a new version, trying one with different bitrate (converted wrong anyway). All of them produce the same result.
I've never had this issue before.

I uploaded, but it won't show up in my store. And of course I'm still getting someone attempting to use stolen cards to buy clips. I'm going to start uploading other places instead, this is just a big stressful mess.

Why in God's name did it let me attempt to upload these videos so many fucking times and NOT tell me that in a pop up or something. It shouldn't even let me attempt that. I spent 2 hours reconverting and trying to figure this out. I feel like such an idiot.

Of course I clicked again and then it said "are you a human?"
I didn't see any captcha so I clicked for the 3rd time and was logged in.

They won't show up as new clips in the listings if you reupload them, it's best to contact Studio Support and ask them to sort it.

I decided to start reading through this entire thread, just not all in one go, to see what I missed. I didn't bother to do that before because I had a clips store for a few years and didn't feel a lot was applicable. However if I was a newbie to C4S and clip making, I would have read the whole thing.
Anyway, something I noticed is that Sara from Clips4Sale used to be more active here in answering questions. A couple of things I know that we have talked about recently (last few months) she addressed back in 2012.

She says the system is set up to alert customers when they are trying to purchase a previously purchased clip. I wonder if that is still true in 2017 because I know they have been having 'cart issues' for a while now. (Don't know if they are resolved).

The verify preview has not worked for me for weeks. It says encoding video like it normally would, but then instead of the preview coming up to view, it just is a white box. I put in a ticket regarding this, but never even got a response from them. Anyone else having this problem?
Is crossposting one clip to different categories worth it? I'm thinking about offering hd and sd versions of my clips and I see a lot of stores are doing that. Right now I'm using MP4 only

thats what I do and it's definitely worth it for me - I have other jobs tho so I wouldn't have time to film enough content to upload daily if I wasn't doing it

So my month has been going pretty well and today I get a $191 refund. Ugh so annoying. And stupid me because yesterday when I saw this big purchase I was going to message C4S asking them if this is a legit customer and/or they've made purchases before. But it's too late now. I definitely learned my lesson. From now on, I will contact C4S for any purchases over $100. I got lazy. I get large purchases a good amount of times during the week so I started taking it for granted.
But I'm thinking...when it's a new customer/new credit card, and it's a very large purchase...doesn't C4S put a hold on it or something making sure the card is okay? I thought I read this here on the thread once.

Camming, C4S and clipsites in general are my only sources of income, so I have lots of time and I already update my main store almost daily. I'm just wondering if crossposting is worth it because I see most big studios do it. Some even post 3-4 versions of same clip but it looks ugly imo.
But I'm thinking...when it's a new customer/new credit card, and it's a very large purchase...doesn't C4S put a hold on it or something making sure the card is okay? I thought I read this here on the thread once.
They probably blocked his download. I had a huge refund this month and when I contacted C4S they told me that it was a fraudster using stolen credit card and they blocked him before he was able to download my clips. He then tried to buy same clips 3 more times using different cards.

Message them anyway and ask if they were able to download. Also request that all new purchasers are unable to download until the card is verified. They will probably try again, they've been doing it all month to me.
