I'm sure this has been addressed: But I'm kind of bent about the chargeback forgiveness. I had someone buy a few hundred in clips earlier this year and it got charged back. I then had to send out dmca's because the fuckface decided to post them on a tube site. between that fiasco and terrible health, I haven't put much time or effort into that specific c4s store. while I'm glad for a little $ back, I won't even be able to buy a nice bottle of whiskey for the amount I'm getting back from that specific store (my other two have been chargeback free this year (yay)). I'm just a bit frustrated.

alright, done venting.

Nope, it hasn't been addressed yet. I was kind of wondering what you were talking about until I signed into the admin and I saw the new message. I'm not 100% clear on it, but I'll figure it out.

I had to laugh at the sentence "We will not charge you a percentage fee from your clip revenue, like other sites are doing...." (Which I believe is a dig at Iwantclips).

Which is fine and all but they also offer their clip producers 70% instead of 60%, so until C4S does the same.......

Refunds don't count, and these days C4S rushes to refund immediately so they don't get dinged with the chargeback cost. Either way, the fraudster gets clips for free and the producer loses sales, and probably has to go hunt down an uploader.
So in the end, it feels like an empty gesture unless refunds are included. C4S is protecting themselves instead of fighting the fraud or trying to block it from the start.

Edit: The store I manage got dinged for $75 worth of refunds today alone, which were granted to the overseas buyers within an hour or two of their order. All the refunded orders included the most recent release.

Refunds far outnumber chargebacks. I have a bunch of refunds but only one chargeback so I'm getting a grand total of $5.99. It's something I guess. Not anything to remotely get excited about.

Yeah you're totally right. We didn't do anything wrong!

At first I thought it included refunds. I got so excited thinking WOW that is super awesome. After reading a few comments here and then re-reading the message, I realize it's only refunds =/ I have NO chargebacks since Jan but I have a lot of refunds.

So I'm not sure what my feelings are about this new "service."

Yea I was kind of bummed out it didn't include refunds because in the past few years they give a refund instead of chargeback. In the past month alone I have had a lot of refunds from buyers in Brazil.

I'm getting "refunds" not chargebacks. I already lost over $300 due to "refunds" this year.

Had my "chargeback forgiveness" show up in my total today. I'm $5.99 richer.

Hey girls, what categories are you in on c4s? I do foot fetish, but I would like to do some nude clips. I'm thinking to just integrate nude with some fetish I like, like smoking or feet. Do you also make masturbation clips? I'm not very experienced, but trying to see what is most lucrative category, thanks

I'm still trying to find out but if I did know what made good money I'm sorry but I wouldn't share it on a public forum! But, what works for one won't work for another and you need to enjoy what you do. There are so many categories to choose from I'm sure you'll find something you enjoy!

I do a variety of categories, but some more regularly than others. I try to do at least one new one a month.

If you want to do nudity with other fetishes-go for it! The only way you will know what works for you is to try different things.

I don't do masturbation clips (where I'm masturbating) but I do shoot JOI/masturbation instruction clips.

The topic of what is the best selling category has been discussed so many times in this thread already. There isn't one (or two or three) 'best' selling/lucrative categories it will always, ALWAYS be what sells best for YOU. And you only figure that out by trying new things/categories but also sticking with the categories/fetishes that have proven to sell well for you already.

Making money on C4S takes time and experimentation. I'm sorry but there are no easy shortcuts, if there were, this thread wouldn't exist.

Is there any reason why C4S keeps unlinking from my Twitter? Or vice versa?

I upload something, realise no tweet happened, go to check settings, it's been unlinked. I re-link it. Upload something, fine. Next day, happens again, unlinked.

EDITED TO ADD - although my uploads still aren't being tweeted now.

Hey ladies, it's been a while since I've been on here. Sorry to hear about all the glitches, that sounds so frustrating!

I was wondering if I could get some advice on buying a new camera. I am looking for something that is good for clip making, but also can take some nice pictures for my vanilla blog. My budget is about $500 but I can go up to $1000 if needed. I'm torn between getting a DSLR or a mirrorless camera as they are around the same price point. I like the idea of the mirrorless for the better video and smaller size, but the DSLR is tried and true for many so not sure which way to go. What do you all use to film with other than webcams?

Getting tired of attempts to scam my store. I have the same scammer, who uses the same name over and over order $$$ every 2 or 3 days for the past two months. The guy (well it shows hes from Brazil) uses the same name every time. Eventually the order gets charged back and refunded. They say they block him from downloading but it is getting really annoying because I have no idea what I have actually made for the month.

Can you tell if the person is using the same IP address? And how many legit orders do you get from Brazil?
I would email Neil directly and ask if he can put you in contact with their fraud department, if the contact form isn't getting you the proper escalation. Ask if this guy can be banned by IP, if not the entire country for your store.
I'm not sure if C4S can do that, but can't hurt to ask.

GEO Blocking is Now Available!

We are excited to announce that we have just released the first GEO Block Tool for Countries, and we will be releasing additional types of GEO Blocks very soon! Thank you to all of our studio owners who have given us great feedback on the types of GEO Blocks you'd like to see implemented to give you greater control over your store and content.

The new GEO Block Tool lets you easily control who can and can not access your clip content by blocking countries. Just select the country you wish to block from the drop down list below to create store specific access rules.

IMPORTANT: If you select to block the country you are residing in, you will also be blocked from accessing your own store and the admin for Clips4Sale. You can access your store and the admin by using a proxy IP located outside of your blocked country.

GEO Blocking a country will block all regular customers from that country from accessing your store. Please be careful with how you use this tool, it will limit your traffic and customer visibility.
HOW TO ADD A COUNTRY TO THE GEO BLOCK TOOL and MANAGE ACTIVE GEO BLOCKS

Log into your store admin: https://admin.clips4sale.com/login/
Click on the GEO Block banner on the HOME page of the admin.
On the SET UP A GEO BLOCK RULE tab, use the drop down to select the country you wish to block.
Click the SET UP NEW GEO BLOCK button to create the new GEO Block rule.
Once added, you will see be shown a confirmation message of the new GEO Block Rule you have created.
To manage (Review or Delete) your active GEO Blocks, click on the LIST ACTIVE GEO BLOCKS tab.
To delete a GEO Block simply click on: X DELETE
All active GEO Blocks will display the Blocked Country and the date the block was added.

NOTE: If you have multiple studios, you will need to set up a GEO Block for each store you own.

I was excited to see that geo blocking was offered but I guess you can only block by country and I couldn't afford to block the entire United States. Hopefully they upgrade it to allowing individual states soon.

Agreed. Although I get a lot of clip orders (some of them repeat customers/large orders) from my home state. So even though it would be a great feature, I personally wouldn't enable it.

here, in russia we use different cameras for different places of filming
as for me
outside i use panasonic fz1000 in hands (shutter speed 1/400, iso range 200..400) for UHD clips and panasonic v770 in hands for fullhd clips
inside (with 4000 watts of lightening) i use fz1000 on tripod for uhd and fullhd clips and panasonic v770 in hands for fullhd clips

my dream is to have panasonic ag-ux180 or panasonic dvx200 (Ed Stafford has them!)

If the guy is doing cb's he should've been blacklisted from the entire site from the very first chargeback, allowing him to do multiple orders and still do chargebacks proves c4s are being negligent. It seems c4s hasn't tightened up their fraudscrub since 2011 when I see tweets complaining about this.

They say they block him from downloading
doubt it, downloads are supposed to be instant unless they do manual checks which would be time consuming.

@MissCallieMFC - whatever your budget is, the camera should cost half of that, use the other half for accessories & set decorations and try the used section. A used Canon 5D would be nice or a used mirrorless.

Hi!
Haven't been able to make many clips since fall, but try to post at least 1 clip a month until I get a routine for it again. Just so much other work that takes time and a boyfriend that need attention too :)

Just read the GEO blocking message and want to block my own country. However, of course it means you can't see your own store page "from the outside". But can you still see it if you click "view clip store" from the admin? Anyone tried? I don't know how to make a proxy page as suggested.
With all the glitches I always check my store to see that clips are correctly posted.

I had wondered about that! Sometimes I think they are just saying it to reassure us and not have to hear "WHAT?! They got to download the clips AND you gave them their money back?"

Because really, how are they able do that? Once a transaction is approved, it goes to the download page. If they do have.....fraud markers in place (not sure what to call it), then why would they let a fraudulent transaction go through as approved? (Or what they *suspect* is fraud--I've been given that reason many times when I asked why an order was refunded.)

Tried to read up on how to make a proxy page but it's like a foreign language to me lol. Since your own admin also gets blocked you really need to have it working before blocking your own country...

So all three of my new clips that I uploaded yesterday are not showing up in their categories. The clips show up fine when I type in my store number on the front page and go from there. But if I go to MILF category, my studio is in the newly updated section but the new clip does not show up.

I contacted support last night. They stated that they updated my store on all servers. I checked but still no new clips. I contacted support again. They escalated it up to the IT team and was told this issue might resolve on its own. It's the next day and the issue has definitely not resolved on its own =/

I just got another email back from support stating they apologize for the inconvenience and that the tech team is still working on the issue. They do not have an ETA at this time. They hope to have a fix in place soon.

I'm about to upload another new clip. I really hope this doesn't happen again now with the new clip. This is frustrating. Anyone else having this issue?

**Update** I emailed support again asking if I should try deleting a clip and re-uploading in the hopes it will fix the problem. They emailed me back stating it's a general problem and not just my store. In the meantime, deleting and re-posting will not correct the issue. Programmers are working on it.

I'm having a new issue with my gifs since switching to a Mac. I always used the free video to gif converter and I started using the one for a Mac, which seems nicer. However I noticed my rollover images of my gifs look really weird and bad. See below. I can't figure why, as I am resizing a 720p mp4 video to a 480p gif, unless it is just some kind of degradation to do with the program. The file ends up around 10mb and 30 seconds so it isn't that low quality. The image below is a screenshot of how the gif looks in my store-- you can see it isn't perfectly clear, there is some pixelation but it isn't insanely shitty like the rollover image. Could anyone who uses a Mac or video to gif converter suggest something? Like what programs you use to make gifs, or what I could be doing wrong? I don't get how if the gif looks decent the rollover looks like shit. Support suggested I use the rollover maker on c4s admin but my home connection is too slow it won't load. They also suggested I use on online gif maker but they seem to mostly put watermarks or have file size limits and most of the videos I use to make gifs are in the 30mb range.

I can't see the attachments for some reason.

I have been using cloud convert https://cloudconvert.com.

I take my video and do small clips of the parts I want to show in my gif, combine them into a small 10 to 20 second mp4 clip containing all the scenes and upload it to cloudconvert, choose gif format and it usually turns out great quality with a pretty small file size.

I'm trying with Photoshop now, but I'm really not sure of the presets to use for it. I can get some reasonable file sizes and greater clarity, but some things are weird. Anyone else use photoshop to turn videos into gifs?

Hey, yall! I'm new to this thread - Let me just preface this by saying I don't have a studio set up yet, so I get if folks wanna pass this newb on by, dont mind me! I've been following this thread for a bit, learning the serious complexities of this slice of the adult industry and yalls tech/marketing/perseverance skills are truly something remarkable. Anyway, just PROPS to u and I SEE YOU (as a stripper, which some of u may be?, my skills aren't strong in these same areas AT ALL). I started off camming years ago and pretty much flopped at it because I wasn't SMART about it (thought it would be easy money, but realized after a few years its really a full-time business if u wanna make it).

OK, this is all to say that I want to be way more organized before I begin so that I don't get discouraged fast. Like, have a plan, have the necessary items and concepts/themes I need to get me going. I made a massive google doc with a lot of prep info., and took away a lot of advice from this thread. With that said, I have two things to ask yall, one is more about technology and the other getting a feel for my theme ideas.

1. I feel like there's some debate around what kind of tech stuff to use to be successful. It can range from the under $200 range to like over $1000 for the best stuff in terms of cameras and mics and lights. I imagine the responses would be varied, but say if I wanted to start off investing a safe amount (considering I might not make it?), what would you recommend? An HD logitech? Or just a smartphone? A $50 studio light set up? An external mic? I'm just wondering what's worth it and what's not right off the bat. I REALLY APPRECIATE any tips in this dept.

2. I'm really hearing yall on the fetish/theme focus, that folks need to get a feel for ME as a person and what makes me separate from the rest. I know that everyone has to experiment at least a little bit to find their niche market, but I wanted to throw out some ideas I have and see what yall think. Lately, I've been kind of getting into evolution, like literal scientific evolution. I had this idea to appease to a creationist or someone super christian, and just be this empowered science-y person who is showing off their evolutionary features that seperate us from primates: elongated calves, wide hips, shortened canines, big toe & heel alignment, undetectable ovulation, and like the ability we have to stand upright and run unlike arboreal primates. LOL. I know this sounds super silly or maybe boring off the bat, but if yall could humor me, any advice on how to develop this concept in case I could turn out some science nerds or weirdos $$$?

Or perhaps I could start with something more normie, like the fact that I have a fat ass and fit in something niche into that category like ASMR, stripper heels, sewing naked, mouth fetish.

Alright, that's all! You guys ROCK.

I say just get started and buy a video camera in your budget that is under $500, and some soft box lights, you can get them on amazon for under $200. I think you should go with your own unique inspiration for sure, perhaps that would fit under goddess worship, or various body parts fetish, or female supremacy, post-apocalyptic. I think anytime you can go for something that is creative and individual is great but be prepared it may not be an instant hit. Give it like 10 clips before you give up on it. Definitely go for some basic stuff as well, experiment, have fun, be dedicated. Good luck!

I am having this issue today. I've uploaded multiple clips in different categories and it's exactly like how you stated. I am at the top of the newly updated sections of my categories, yet when I click on my studio from there, the new clip doesn't show up. However, the clips do show up if I go to my main storefront, by either clicking on my store name at the top of the page, or just typing in my main URL. If I try to search for specific categories within my store, it does not show the most recent ones.

Tech support said the same to me -- that it is a server issue that is affecting multiple studios, and deleting/re-uploading will not help. They said they would fix it ASAP but it's already been a problem for a few days. Very frustrating indeed.

I just checked and it is happening for my latest clip too. I have to be more vigilant about noting if clips are showing in all the places they should be!

Honestly I think I'm just going to wait until it's resolved before I upload anything new. I'm certain that most of my clip sales come from people seeing my store at the top of the most recently uploaded section in my categories. And I doubt most of those customers would care enough to figure out how to find the clip when it's not showing up easily.

Kinda sucks, because I was planning on pushing out like 10 new clips before the end of this pay period... Gah.

This issue has been happening on and off for years...I always check mine after uploading and it's very frustrating!

It's really important to show up in the carousel above the recent upload list...to choose the right image to show there and for guys to be taken straight to that clip when they click on the image.

It appears to be working again, at least for all of my most recent clips that were having issues before.

Question: I've seen quite a few studios who are posting their 75% Summer Commission link right into their clip descriptions, so that they'll get a higher commission from the purchase.

Is this allowed? I didn't see anything explicitly in the rules saying it wasn't, but on the cam sites I work on they don't allow you to post extra commission links right to the site (it's meant for social media/for you to promote off the site), so that was my expectation. If it's allowed I feel like they should just give us the extra 75%.

Also, if you are doing this, has it actually resulted in higher commissions? I just wonder if customers would take the extra step to click on a different link or not.

does everyone compress their videos before uploading and if so what is the best program to use? Does compressing your videos affect the quality of them?

I suspect the categories aren't refreshing/updating correctly again....... Anyone else notice this?

Compression will affect quality. You have to decide between quality & filesize.
Your editing program can do it or use a dedicated freeware like handbrake.

What's the point of this new chargeback forgiveness system? All I get is refund after refund and 0 chargebacks . This is a f*cking plague right now. I'm really considering quitting C4S and moving my stuff to IWC&MV.

Hi ladies..

I'm trying my hand at c4s again after doing well on it a couple of years back..

So I've got a c920 cam which I recorded a 5 minute clip with on VLC Media Player. It plays fine on there etc and the quality is OK (Man, VLC is really not user friendly is it?!) anyway.. I converted it to MP4 on VLC but when I upload it to c4s after that, it gives me this ' Clip size must be at least 320x240'... Now I know the size is bigger than that, it's 800x400 or something like that. I am so confused and have been trying to do this all day so as you can imagine, close to throwing my laptop out the damn window.

... Also.. Is there some other way to record my stuff without using VLC? I find it a confusing programme to use considering I literally only want to record simple videos with my webcam and nothing fancy. I feel like there must be a more simple/easy way to record these clips!?? Urgh :-( Any advice much appreciated.

I am using the same cam and I record using Logitech webcam software- you can find it on their site. It's recording in MP4 file and since I am doing four formats on c4s ( MP4 HD, MP4 SD, WMV HD and WMV SD) I convert it further using Any Video Converter. That both programs are really easy to use :)

Thanks that's super helpful.. I downloaded it (I think) but it only gave me options to change my settings as opposed to capturing video... What's the name of the programme you use or do you have a link to where I can get it? Been driving me nuts today ahah

Edit: Found this on their downloads page.. Seems like the right one yeah? ''Logitech Webcam Software
Capture photos and videos, upload to Facebook with one-click, adjust camera settings, and more.''
