Has this affected your sales? My sales are SO SO SO low this month. I've made half of what I should have already made. They month started off great, now it's slowed to either no sales or one a day. :(

The day most of my clips disappeared from my store I only got one sale but this month has been an above average month so far. It won't be as good as last month (which was my best month ever so far) but I've already made more this month than I made all of September last year.

We've recently opened a Clips4sale store. No sales, so far. Today's adult content scene is like today's music scene: everybody wants it, but no one wants to pay for it.

so my sales have been slow since I got back into this, stuff I'd expect to sell isn't really :(

Yes it's slow. I'm near the top 50 in one of my most popular categories and it's very slow. September was like this for me last year too. Going to make clips the rest of the month and just release them in October.

I've had a good month, so far. Also, new categories added!

Sales? What are these mythical things you speak of? Certainly nothing that is happening in my stores :/

Seems like it's slow for quite a lot of stores, my rank is the highest it has been in a while (low 300s) and I've made $600 this month. I've had 9 days with 0-1 video sales and 4 days with 2 video sales. I have one guy that comes by every few month and splurges, if he hadn't come by then I'd have made $300 for the month so far. :\

Last month was my worst ever, though I didn't put up as many clips. Same this month, though once again I haven't been putting out as much content. BUT I'm def not selling new clips as much as I was a few months ago. Trying to figure that out: is the category evolving differently, am I getting redundant etc.

My studio name is very tied to my category. In the 10-ish months I've done this I've stuck to that category with a handful of clips that didn't pertain to my main category. I'd like to expand and try various other fetishes that interest me but I haven't settled on a clear secondary I'd like to concentrate on. I'm not sure if I should open a second kind of mixed bag store or just release things under my current store? Do you guys think it makes a difference if your store name has nothing to do with the clip and category you're releasing it in?

Tbh, I'm sitting on a few clips while I debate starting a new store and I get antsy about releasing things haha.

Iris Keenkade

I've been doing ok with my store name just being my name. So I don't think your store name necessarily has to be themed, although it couldn't hurt.

Yeah part of me wishes I'd just gone with my name but my current store IS themed. Which is why I'm thinking of doing a second store if I want to branch out significantly from that theme.

I think a second store could work. I know Sinna has multiple stores, which can help you hit categories and more time on the front page. You just have to keep up with the volume needed to sustain, which is always a challenge.

My first and main store is my general one, with my name that isn't themed, then my 2nd and 3rd stores I made themed when I branched out into those categories. So you could do it the other way around and create a more general store now.

Julie D

Yeah, I'm never close enough to top 50 for Global Ranking to be anything but mildly interesting to me. But I do think something is going on with it. There have been a few times that it hasn't shown up at all when I've logged in. I believe it goes on a weekly basis because last month was NOT GOOD for me but I had one good week and I def saw my ranking jump.
Thank you to everyone who gave their input! I'm not sure how well I'm going to be able to put out content for 2 stores, but 2 it is! For now I'll continue to concentrate on the main one and see if anything takes off on the second.
Even though it's been a couple of slow months for me, something interesting has happened. Up until this point my solos have not really done much in comparison with the ones done with my partner. The last two months have been the complete opposite. My solos are taking off! I'd say it was because initially I hit on something that seemed to be popular but now I'm seeing increased sales of the older ones too. WHO KNOWS. WHO CARES (except me, haha.)

I believe the requirement is 10 unique clips, you can have long ones broken up in to parts.

Something came up last minute and I won't be able to watch. :( I hope it's archived somewhere.

Also new message in the admin, another sales contest and the new CID could should be permanent now. I hope so!
Rule change too, CID links in C4S hosted descriptions no longer count.

OFFICIAL CONTEST DATES
OCTOBER 01, 2018 (at 1:00 PM EST) through JANUARY 15, 2019 (at 11:59:59 PM EST)

WHAT IS A FOREVER LINK CODE?
ANNOUNCING YOUR NEW FOREVER CID LINK CODE - After receiving feedback, you will not need to change your CID link code going forward for any promotions. All new incentive promotions will only require you to opt-in to them here, on the admin incentives page. Remember, all incentive programs are for traffic YOU send into your store from outside sources only, so the more you share and promote your Forever CID Link - the more commission you can earn!

YOU CAN NOT - Post your Sales Contest CID link code on your clip store or within any of your clip descriptions. Any clip sales which occur using the Sales Contest CID link code which come from internal traffic using a link posted on your clip store or within your clip descriptions DO NOT COUNT for increased commission. Only outside traffic, which you have driven to your store via the Sales Contest link code, is eligible for the increased commission.

I don't like not being able to post the link ON my store :(

Yes, admin login has been slow. I logged in earlier and clicked on the New Contest Code generator and it kicked me out! I logged back in and clicked on it and got a 404 page error (That page does not exist). I tried it a 3rd time and I finally was able to get a code.

Biggest takeaways:

They are heavily promoting keyword/tag use as their searching method. Neil recommends everyone put their store name and model name in their Keywords.
They are hoping to have nexocams fully integrated into C4S by end of year, including a token system that allows users to buy clips as well.
Neil is contemplating doing these webinars weekly or monthly, but some sort of frequency on a regular basis.
There are going to be numerous improvements to fully integrate custom clips, finally.

I'm sure I may have missed something, but those were the big ones for me.

Does anyone know, from previous contests, is there a way to use the contest code with the links for individual clips? Like on Twitter if you post about a new update and want to link directly to that clip, instead of your store, is there a way to do that with the code? I'm thinking not, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask.

Yes you can! Just add the code at the end of the clip url
Example: clips4sale.com/studio/studionumber/clipnumber/yourpromocode

Have you tried that in the previous contests and did it register the sale with the higher payout?

I'm not sure how to do it since it shows as:

clips4sale.com/studio/studionumber/clipnumber/clip+name

I put #mycode after the clip name and that seems to include my code in the URL for the individual clip. However, if I leave out the # sign, and just put the code, it does NOT show the code in the URL.

Happy about the custom clips being integrated. That should be good.

Yeah I always fill in all those boxes for the keywords. I've been putting in my store name/model name since my store opened a few years ago. Hmmmm I should start putting in my store number as well. I suppose it can't hurt.

I haven't utilized that NexoCams thing yet though.

UPDATE. This did NOT work for me. My URL looked like this:

https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/studionumber/clipnumber/clip+name#cidnumber

And I gave it to one of my regular customers to try out. The sale went through but I did NOT get the higher percentage.

I got a reply from someone from C4S telling me that is the way to do it (to use the CID code for individual clips), but it didn't work and I emailed them back and am waiting for a reply. I will let you know what I find out.

You're doing it correctly. In last year's contest, I found that about 10% of customers who clicked on the link and purchased the video still wouldn't register for the contest. I asked C4S and they explained that it's because their cookies aren't enabled. I decided a 10% margin of error was preferable to trying to tell customers how to enable cookies. Believe me, I've tried explaining technology to customers before and it makes you want to put a bullet through your brain. You just have to work with the level of tech knowledge they currently have.

Yeah, they said the same thing about customers browser settings. But they are having the programmers look into the issue.

Have another regular customer who has been using the contest code (not to the individual clip, as I had one other regular test out) and he is allowing cookies from C4S and his sales are going through withOUT me getting the higher percentage. Kind of annoying, but whatever. Other orders are going through where customer ARE using the code, so that's good.

I got a reply from C4S. I was basically told that the programmers found no error with the link to the individual clips (and for reference, I copy and pasted the link I sent to my customer to use in my correspondence with C4S, so they could verify it was correct). And that they "can't force the use of anyone's browser to use cookies", which I thought was really odd wording ('force'?). No where in my exchange with this rep did I even remotely suggest such a thing. (I didn't even think about the cookie thing until someone mentioned here a few days ago).

And that customer that I had use the link to the individual clip (and I didn't get the higher percentage from that sale), the next day I had him try the (contest code) link just to my store and I DID get the higher percentage with that sale. So I'm taking away from this that the code to individual clips does NOT give you credit for the contest. (Thus it IS an error, but hey, I tried.)

I also want to mention that the customer did NOT make any changes to their computer or browser settings in-between the two days and those sales (I asked).

Now if someone else wants to test this out and perhaps has a different experience, feel free to post it, but I am only going to use/promo the direct to my store link.

And also as I mentioned in another post, I have another regular who has been using that (direct store contest link) and also has cookies enabled and it STILL doesn't work for him.

Our website is configured mostly for direct C4S clip links (and sales form links), so this kinda explains why one week in, we only have 6 sales counted. That's some atrocious skimming and they won't even admit there's a problem?
If support won't acknowledge, maybe twitter will. NO company likes being called out on their bullshit.

The thing I don't get is......they didn't bother to test this out beforehand? (Or did they?) Did they have/ask a handful (or more) of clip producers to have some customers try the direct to clip (not store) links and report back? If they didn't do that, then how can they tell us that they work?

I'm not bothering at all with the direct to clip links. I can't believe they don't realize how important those are and how much clip producers use them! *sigh*

I also wanted to add, the customer I mentioned before who was using the link to my store and had cookies enabled and I still wasn't getting the higher %.....well he tried using a different browser to buy my clips and now I AM getting the higher %. :-)

it sucks, most of my advertising is direct clip links - is it worth me contacting them and telling them its not working for me? maybe if enough of us do they'll sort it
