i can not choose between
a) only long animated "GIF video" for clip product
and
b) 12-15 seconds preview and static JPEG for clip product

long animated "GIF video" is a result of merge of eight 10 seconds fragments from full clip
12-15 seconds preview is a result of merge of 4-5 3 seconds fragments from full clip

what do You think?

What have you been doing up to this point? I do gifs, but it's an individual preference.

I would recommend atleast a 15second preview (mine are 45+ seconds).

I dont recommend using c4s preview creator tool though, as that reduces the resolution quality significantly of the video,
so create the preview video yourself.

The preview is 90% of what will control whether or not someone buys your clip, and so you need to make it look as enticing as possible.
Merely putting a soundless few seconds length gif is a poor option.

If you are getting constant sales throughout the day I notice it will malfunction and skip a few of those sales announcements as it has done that with mine yesterday.

Its done that to me too, for all my sales!!

I had to login to my c4s, unlink and re-link my twitter a few times, resave the settings a few times, and only then will a few of the sales show.

I asked a c4s rep about it and they tried to claim that if a clip sells more than 5x per day they wil only show 5 sales notices (which is just nonsense),
and so I'm now going to contact Neil directly!

*My promotional tweets are still not working either!!

Really? Because I can think of at least 5 studios right off the top of my head that are consistently on the main page and all they do is gifs.

While a good preview is nice. I keep mine short and concise around 10 seconds for me works. If its a 15 min or longer video I may do 15 seconds or more.
These guys will wank to anything so I believe less is more. The description is the most important on C4S they even mentioned it in one of the announcements which def rings true. I also believe it depends on what content your uploading. I can easily upload a Findom - Ripoff something of the nature clip with just a 2 second gif or long static image. Where as some of my other content not so much.
Certain things my previews are censored rather its sound or whats shown NO you are not going to hear all the farts in my fart preview for free buddy.

I recommend to see what works for your studio. Do some A/B testing a set amount with short gifs / longer / video preview etc.

It depends on the clip and what you think the customer is looking for in that clip. I want them to get a feel for the clip without giving too much away for free, I usually want them to hear my voice (voice can be really important to customers and it sets the tone of the clip). The title and the description are very important too...if they like what they read, they'll want to see it enacted...draw them in, start them experiencing it. I may use a gif or single snapshot...I may use a 10 second preview or I may use none.

It really depends on the types of clips you're making, I have to use a description for mine.

I have a few questions: the category of the studio . Do i have to focus on that one or can i add mutliple categories type of videos in my studio aswell ? In the first 10 clips do they all have to be in the studio's category ? For example if i do footjob, do the first 10 have to all be footjobs or can i do ass shaking & other categorys aswell? How does it affect you in the long run if you don't upload very often in your studio's category ?

When setting up your clip store. Do i have to fill in all the boxes there ? Can i go back to edit my store appearence in the future ?
And last but not least: if i select 10 seconds preview, when i upload my videos, is that enough for starters ? Or do i have to put a gif aswell ?

I am new to all this, i am sorry for the many questions. I read trough the thread & i did saw some tips but i want to be 100% sure. Thank you

This thread is gold for sure but you have to focus on what works for you. I do 10 second previews that are a brief vocal introductory and GIF. I like to keep it simple and upload my clip images to their creator. I think the first 10 have to be in the same category. You can edit your store and change categories, the name, etc. Unless the clip is in a different format you WAV versus MOV for example, it cannot appear in 2 main categories. My description and GIFs are the selling for me. I only do the preview so they can get a glimpse of my voice and style. Experiment and see what works best for you.

I don't know if you were just asking Kiara this or others but...... I used VLC and Photoshop to make my gifs. I use VLC to take screenshots of the frames I want, then resize them with the batching option in Photoshop. And use the animation/layers (etc) to put the gif together.

I upload and create on the C4S platform. It’s quicker and easier for me to do so at the moment as I upload across multiple sites and make multiple daily updates. I’m not suggesting you do that necessarily tho. My computer needs upgraded and my internet sucks so it’s more of a convenience for me at the moment.

I make my gifs with Movavi. Once I've exported my clip I open it again and essentially chop it up into a few sections I like the look of and then export it as a medium gif, done. So fast and I get a gif I'm really happy with. Also you can pull snapshots from the clip easily if you want to sell pictures or anything.

It's basically just luck per account.

I have 3 stores, 2 of them set to tweet, both have ceased working and that isbthebreason C4S have told me.

However I see my competitor studios not having this issue!!

I thought mine had skipped a few of the sales tweets but they were just extremely delayed. Then the next day it didn’t tweet all of my individual sales, but a few. Which it would’ve looked spammy because for whatever reason I had an upswing in individual over bulk in comparison to usual.

When I post a title with a break between words using "..." it tells me - Entering URLs in the title field is forbidden. Support suggest using a space before "..."

I guess some people are using "..." instead of a forbidden word but you can use them otherwise.

Banned words are picked up in titles too.

This idea of ''constantly uploading'' is just nonsensical, and tbh pretty foolish.

I only upload 2 videos per month (previously used to be just 1 per month) but yet almost all of those videos made it into the top 20# list on entire site (even though I price at $2 per minute),
and each of those videos averaged 30-50 sales within their 1st month of release.

The reason my videos are so popular, and so successfully, is because I ensure each video is very high resolution quality/edited to a point-perfect level by me/is based on creative ideas which are unique and desired by fans of the fetish/and features girls which my customers are highly attracted to physically.

Many other studios in my catergory do the route of just cobbling together amateurish poor quality looking videos, but spout out 10+ per month,
however whilst they may flood the catergory with that, the end result simply is that they annoy customers/or worse just numb customers completely to their content, as it's too vast and too swampy to hold any real value in customer's eyes. :)

If you want to get sales rather than just trying to swamp your store with more content, which will risk cannabalising your existing content,
I personally suggest you spend these next 1-2 days promoting & marketing your videos/brand on fetish forums and pornhub, to drive traffic to your store/make people aware that your store and content actually exists.
As from my personal experience 80% of my traffic comes from external promotion, only 20% comes from people looking in the catergory on c4s.

(Although 80% of my sales per month come from the same regular customers, and so once you manage to establish a loyal customer base who really love your content, THEY will be the ones who actually bring you the income each month).

It will take a while to become established and could take a bit to get sales but uploading content regularly and making sure you have a video in the recently updated list will make sure you have people that can see your store/content and bring in traffic.

There's a reason why 99% of us recommend regular updates - it works! We also recommend a diverse catalogue of videos. Don't stick with just one category, take a look at the entire list. Look for similar categories or some that interest you and try those as well. Combine topics, say your main topic is jerk off instruction, try jerk off instruction with cum countdown - use both of those categories in your key words and description when you upload it and related categories.

Keep uploading even when there hasn't been a sale. Maybe those one or two videos didn't catch someone's eye, but the next one will. Once they are hooked they will likely keep buying more, even the older ones.

I have been doing this for 8 years and have customers that have been buying my videos for that long, some own most of the videos I put out (not all like intox or cei which I make a decent amount of) and have some new customers that have spent 5-10,000$ over the course of the last 6-12 month buying my content - old content AND new as it came out. I have over 1,000 videos right now, some content (about 500 videos over my career) have been been retired, so it's a lot of video and well worth it!

More videos also help you figure out what people are looking for. Why didn't this video sell but the other did? What's different? Did the formula work the next time you tried? won't know 'til you try!

Thank you very much ! That is what i wanted to hear. I will keep going at least 1 clip per day. And not give up. My content is good quality hd, edited in adobe, i did not put tough multiple formats, just mp4. I kept the videos pretty clean and simple, tough i made the mistake to have 6 out of 10 videos in my store category ? I will do diffrent categories from now on, and upload another in my store category maybe next week. I got discouraged tough because i saw lots of girls that said they did their store, went to sleep and woke up to a clip or two bought. And i woke up to 0 hahaha. But i will kick ass, try to do more research on how to promote myself outside of clips4sale like jessica said. I planned to upload 1 clip per day? Is that ok or should i try a bit more now in the begining (diffrent categories of course) ?

I'd stick with 1 video every 1-3 days so you're not just churning out content, but make sure it's not all the same video content. I also like moving around my film room a little bit so they don't all have the same background. If I didn't have pets I would film in other rooms but they are too curious lol.

I only offer one format so other people would be better to ask about that.

Good quality and editing is important so it's great you're already doing that! Keep it up and sales will come in. Just have to at around with content and keep updating!

Keep your head up, it will happen and when it does it will be great!

I'm going to compare this business to say, the restaurant business. There are some basic things everyone needs to do to ensure success. BUT someone running a mom and pop breakfast/lunch place in a small town will operate differently than a Michelin star place in a major city. Every studio needs to do some experimenting to see what works for them.

I know I've mentioned this before but I've only been doing this a year and a few months, coming in with no relevant experience. Even though I've done far, far better than I ever imagined I won't make pronouncements of "THIS IS HOW YOU MUST DO THINGS TO BE SUCCESSFUL". Because what has worked for my studio might not work for yours. I did read and follow Sinna's guide and she was kind enough to do some mentoring before i took the plunge. I know I wouldn't have done as well if I hadn't had her input.

I will address something upthread and that has been mentioned before. This idea that the majority of traffic comes from outside marketing by studios. Maybe it does for some. I have done zero outside marketing. I don't have a Twitter account, no blog, no instagram, not on any outside sites. I averaged about $1400 a month in my first year and my business is growing slow and steady. So C4S does have a large amount of customers who come to the site daily looking to buy. NOTE: I am not saying don't market!! Who knows how much better I'd be doing if I did? Or maybe FOR ME it wouldn't make a difference. Once again, going back to my restaurant analogy, we all have to tweak and give things time and analyze our own business. We can see what other successful studios do and see if it works for ours. But a strategy that works for one might not work for another.

Good luck on the new studio nattyfetish! Give it time. :)

Props help, different colored pillows or blankets for couches or beds, for example. You can film in the same places but change how it looks without really doing much if you use different little props. Just something to consider :)

I don't think being negative is constructive, it always makes me feel worse. Better to look at the bright side or your videos will be affected too!

What I've been able to suss out about clip ranking:
It is, I believe, based on weekly sales but updated daily. In my category I need to sell 5 or more copies of a clip to break into top 50. BUT. I'm almost positive there's also an algorithm that takes price into account. When I've sold 5 of several clips, in close proximity, the higher priced one will rank higher. As to how a clip can move up ranking even without sales: the ranking is against other clips within the week, even though it's updated daily. So sales of other studios on that list will drop off as the week start date moves. So if I sold 3 on the 1st day of the week then 2 three days later, at a certain point those first 3 will drop off. You sold later in the week than me so even if we both haven't sold any more, you will jump up in ranking. Does that make sense?

Tea4Me

The Top Studio ranking for categories goes by your sales (in that category) for the past 7 days. The Top Clips ranking (both category and main page) goes by how many sales you've made of a particular clip.

I would like to break into audio and Findom. I know it’s best to have another store for findom, but some of my audio will be along those lines as well. So, my question is, do those who do audio have a separate store specifically for this? If at all possible, I would like to have no more than 2 stores. However, my audio will include findom but other categories of domination as well. And I know that those titles would not go well with my current store either.

I would love some advice....I’m not really too sure what the next step for me to take is. I started on c4s store half way through last year (I took a couple months off over sept/oct though) and have just been uploaded really simple fetish clips which is what I enjoy the most. I don’t make a huge amount but have been happy with the increasing $150-$200 a month I’ve been making but would like to now take the next step and I don’t know if that’s to just keep doing what I’m doing or to start adding my clips to other sites. The thing is, I don’t do vanilla or femdom so know my clips potentially wouldn’t sell over on the other sites, my top selling is toilet/pee/farting etc and feel like there’s not really any further steps to take with those categories. I’ve considered learning femdom stuff but I’m nervous with the acting and can’t say that being dominant comes super naturally although I could probably pull it off and I seem to be creatively stunted so that doesn’t help! But yeah....I just don’t really know where to go from here, kind of feel like I’m at a dead end and starting to compare myself to all you lovely ladies that excel at certain things where I feel like I’m so basic it’s not funny lol.
Please feel free to check out my store :) https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/128399/kody

IWC is also great for fetish. Another one that comes to mind is TTM. I have various clips on there and fetish did best. Surprised me cause I thought they would just sit there but there are only a handful of pee/farting etc on TTM but I hear they do well.

Odd, C4S doesn't seem to be picking up the banned words at the moment? I uploaded yesterday and used the word 'crap' which I thought wasn't allowed but it didn't flag in the description. Now the clip is up the word has been deleted. Today it's still the same.

2019 Feb is very-very bad month since 2009 :(
A lot of visits (from 700 to 1900) and only ~$10/day income

Actually, this has been a pretty decent month for me, considering I didn't post as many updates as I would have liked. It did feel slower leading up to Valentine's Day though, which I feel is kinda the norm anyway. But I have had some great sales days this past week!

I had a weird thing happen this month. I had had a better than normal start to the month. So much so that globally I was in the 150-ish range (not even close to normal for me lol.) I happened to be on the front page of the site when I saw...my studio in the "popular studios" carousel.:O I have no explanation why it was up there, I assumed it was the top 50 of c4s. Def nice for the day it lasted tho!
