So I made an inquiry to support and c4s informed me I was doing something wrong re: codecs. I'm new to using a MAC and I'm looking for free conversion software for a MacBook Pro to turn mp4s into wmvs. I release 2 versions of mp4 and wmv and I would like to keep doing so for visibility. Apparently changing the extensions is wrong for codecs, despite me testing it on multiple computers, Windows, old outdated systems like XP etc. which works fine. I'm about to despair of finding a free one that works, I've spent all morning on Google and doing useless free downloads.

Have you tried using IMovie or Downloaded Flimora? I have both for editing but recorded all my Videos using quick time. With those two I think you can change the format of the video when you get done use choose export video... And it will have different format options. I haven't uploaded to C4S yet, but I'm sure those options in bold are more reliable than using what you've previously downloaded.

I signed up for C4S a little while ago. I am releasing daily and release here and on IWC. My sales on C4S have been kind of dismal however. Do I need to promote my clip store more? Perhaps open up to social updates from both C4S and IWC? I didn't want to clog up my twitter feed and annoy followers, but people don't seem to be finding me very much organically through C4S.

Link to my page in case there's something glaringly bad there that I am not seeing: https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/147631/victoria-gray-clip-store

I would do social updates for C4S. It could be because you're just doing audio and also not posting the recordings in the audio only category (I haven't recorded for a while but can you put a WAV version in the audio only category for each one? Then link the two so they can find the MP3 version if they would prefer buy that one). I tend not to post my audios in the fetish categories, although I know that others do, but I make videos of some of my audios and then both sell.

I changed things up a little, adding the social tweets - you actually have more control over those than I thought - and changing the category for a few upcoming tweets.

The WAV/MP3 idea isn't one I had thought of, although, I have seen a number of people doing that. Do you notice people seem to prefer one over the other, or just good to have both available to cover categories and peoples preferences?

I have an audio-only store in addition to my video store. I used to do MP3 and WAV, but they removed WAV as an allowed file type. You can't post WAVs anymore, MP3 is the only audio-only file type that's allowed now.

Fair enough. Thank you for letting me know!

How do you find your audio store on the platform? Is it bringing in a nice income?

Right? I always wonder that too, Katy. I alternate. I mean there's Audio Only and Erotic Audio I believe. Confusing. It was good when we could offer two audio formats so we could hit the applicable audio category and the fetish category.

The companies listed on the checkout page are Mindgeek companies
C4S is Mindgeek run company

there are hundrerds russian boards where poeople trade with stolen clips
they are ignoring dmca and mails from owners
they sale my clips using BTC (and other) :(

This is where copyright & trademark law comes in, Russia is a signatory in the Berne convention & Singapore treaty, the question is, how far are you willing to go to enforce your IP?

I was actually wondering about scheduling audio releases during December to be fair. I had thought of missing the Christmas/New Years week entirely, then I was like, but, not everyone celebrates both of those and if you're at home from work bored and nothing is open, then sitting at home with a couple audios or clips might not be a bad thing for you, ho hum...

Lmao. Reads news stories of worker abuse/exploitation/harassment: Hmm, they should just quit and get another job bing bong so simple! Really, it's the workers' fault, not systemic issues, yah? Lol. If not evident, that was sarcasm. Now, organizing toward common workplace goals can absolutely shift the balance of power as long as enough people join in...

As to monthly totals, I seem to have a consistent drop off in Sept/Oct but do well in Nov through Jan and so far this month seems to be bearing that out. I do think it's interesting that different studios see different lulls and spikes at different times of the year. Would be fascinating to be able to tease out the causes behind that.

I wonder if perhaps because different studios appeal to different demographics? Perhaps yours appeals to college age people (as an example) and they're all dropping off around the time they go off to school, then picking up again around the thanks giving holiday. They'd all have to be in America for this to make sense, but it's an idea anyway.

I am too new to have seen any real pasterns, but would love to hear peoples experience and why they think they are seeing drop offs, etc.

Just out of curiosity: How many sales do you personally typically average per clip (during the 1st month of that clip having been released)??

I personally own 4 clip stores-
(https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/126577/jdoe-strip-wrestling-federation | https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/134723/nappy-brats | https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/137239/spanked-skanks | https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/145021/diaper-dares)

Approx 80% of my sales income each month comes from the wrestling brand | And for that brand I typically get 16 - 30 sales per new clip release within the 1st month after releasing it.
(After that sales slow down dramatically though).
~
Each of those clips however costs me between $180 - $330 to produce though (depending if it's a 2-girl or 4-girl clip) | So to even just manage to break-even on production cost I need to make atleast 20 clip sales per clip! :/

But so just wondered how many sales per clip the rest of you guys typically make per clip during it's 1st month of release? :)

I make audios and they don't cost me anything but my time to make.

Sales are all over the place for audios though. Sales go up and down. When sales are good, people seem to buy the newest, then go back and buy older stuff.

Clips4Sale got me all excited with the announcement days ago that they were doing another winter contest. They said more information was coming "very soon" so I've been checking the admin all the time to see what the rules are going to be. But nope, it's not a contest, there's no bonuses like there were before. It's just that you get 75% through your special link from December 2 - January 31. Damn, I was so excited, I came in the top 10 last time and I was super hyped to get another big bonus. Why would they tease us with "more information coming very soon" and all that shit if it was literally just going to be that you get a higher percentage through your link for a couple of months. I mean, it's better than nothing, but it really isn't anything to write home about. So annoying!

2 things about the sales incentive:

1--Apparently you need to "Opt-in", which I don't know if that was something we had to do before. There was a new message in the admin this morning.

and

2--It's not working. :-/ I've already had a few sales with the code and it didn't give me the higher percentage. They are aware of the problem and working on it.

UPDATE: Apparently you have to "opt-in" first and so even though those sales were made using the code, I don't get credit for them. Would have been nice if they could have posted that info SOONER. But...whatever.

Once you are signed into the admin, there is a banner to the left that has "75% End of Year Sales Incentive" on it. Click on that. It's on that page, a button to opt-in for the sales contest.

PS--After I opted in, I did start getting the higher % on sales from the code/link. (Just not the ones made prior to opting in)

Yeah, I hear ya. Last time around they (C4S) were saying there was a way to do it and I tested it out with a few of my regular customers and I was NOT getting the higher %. I recall going back and forth with support about it not working and I finally gave up and just asked customers to use the 'main' code link.

I honestly don't remember as that was over a year ago. *Maybe* they have actually fixed it now? Would be nice as it would be extremely helpful to use for promoting single clips. Maybe contact support and see what they say.

UPDATE: Okay, I did some digging and I had saved an old email that I exchanged with a C4S rep about this and Neil was actually involved in the emails as well.

(I've removed my store number-info), but this was the format:

https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/yourstorenumber/clipnumber/title-of-clip#yourspecialcode

which is basically, go to your store and click on the title of any of your clips and you are brought to the page for that clip with the bigger preview image. At the end of the URL just add #yourcode and that was the code for individual clips. That was verified as being the correct way to format it by a C4S rep and yet when I had a few of my customers use it, I was NOT getting the higher %. And they were going to have people look into it and I can't remember what happened. I think they kept telling me it was correct and I kept telling them it wasn't working and I gave up and had my customers use the main link code to my store.

Sooo...It seems that we can't insert our wishlist links into a clip description now? I have a wishlist on amazon and I have a link for it at the top of my store, and sometimes I was putting in in my clip description since I don't play with social media- twitter, etc so that was the only place where I could put it. And since it's December and I am ready to get some gifts I tried to put in in my clip, and it just wasn't there but the link for a category worked just fine. I don't like that :(

Also- December sucks for me, for now. It's terrible.

1--I think it would be a good idea to just have a domain name/website, at the bare minimum. That way you can include the link in your clips (I mean in the actual clip) to your website and people can go there for more info. Wishlist, customs info, etc. You can also have a link to your clips store with the CID code on your website then as well.

2--I've been recording my sales for years and I always make notes at the end of each month. I've had months that sales have started out slow, but then turned out to be great months. I've had months that had a weird dip in sales mid-month but then the next week more than made up for it. I've had months that I'd gotten discouraged and stop posting new clips, only for sales to pick up and I regretted not posting more to take advantage of that.

This December hasn't been great so far (some really bad days last week) but things are starting to tick up so I'm hoping that momentum will build and it will end up being a great month. Last month sales were great at the start, horrible during the middle, then great again at the end and it all averaged out to a really good month and an increase in sales from last November so you can't count a month out until it's over.

Yes, please let us know how you get on! :)

IWC seems to have died for me, however, C4S has been slowly picking up as I have been promoting it on social, etc (I wasn't before, because I was worried it would annoy my followers having 2 clip sites post). I had thought from people saying sales were down that this month was a good time to get my marketing up to scratch and not have to focus too much on output. Maybe I need to be focusing more on output though... hmm...

If sales are that slow than why remove clips? If anything they should be adding more clips or if they have given up on the site completely just deleting their account.

I read this whole thread moths ago and got that feeling.

To contribute December's sales, mine are really great, thank god. I also tend to have 10+ minute clips so when I sell few I can feel the money ;D

For like two to three months, mu uploads are mostly custom clips so maybe that's why they are selling. People love similar things :worship:

Idk, there's always going to be an element of "who knows??" to this imo. I started the year with 2 record breaking months, then had 2 record-breaking-in-the-bad-way months in there. Of course I analyze and try to tease out trends etc but there's always going to be unseen and unknown variables. I've learned to just chill and keep moving along. I'm up a bit over 10% over last year as of today and considering my model I work with requested I delete most of his work in the middle of the year, I'm happy with that. (Yes, I know I was under no legal obligation to oblige him but I respect his wishes.)
I actually have never updated daily. 1: I can't produce that much and 2: I strongly feel (for me) that posting new content too often can dilute my sales. I will post something and let it accumulate sales and then when it starts to slow, I'll post something else. If something is going really well I might not post for several weeks. I just go by instinct. Idk, not really advising anyone else, just sharing what seems to be working for me. Early on I posted much more often (4-5 times a week) and hit a long spell where clips that seemed to be the type that had always sold well were languishing. I started spacing out clips and sales picked back up. I just feel like too much choice of new clips can be as bad as too little for my studio, YMMV of course.

How do you girls fight piracy? Three of my clips are on pornhub. I don't do anything sex related, that was just belly fetish, but still, I blocked countries i don't want to see my content so that's violation of my privacy and business.

Do any of you use some of digital video piracy detection or something like that?
