how do uk girls get paid?

I get a cheque, it's free. I refuse to pay $40 for the pleasure of having my own money put into my bank account!

My C4S is normally/meant to be 'extra money' so a wait is fine when the cheque comes. They send out payments around the 6th of the money, it only normally takes maybe 3 days for the cheque to get to Scotland (impressive huh) and then I take it to the bank. The thing is, the cheque is in dollars therefore the bank doesn't just cash it. They need to send it off to a negotiation centre before they can pay it to you. I'm with RBS and Clydesdale, both quote it can take up to 6 weeks for you to get the money. I opted to go with RBS for cashing the cheques, as the gist I got from them is that because I am a long term customer with them, these international cheques takes less time to process, because I'm considered less 'suspect/dodgy'. It normally takes a week or a week and a half for the money to get into my greedy little hands.

Anyway, at the end of the day, after you get your money the first time and keep remembering to take your cheques in when you get them, you're still getting paid monthly, just on a different date to girls who opt for bank transfer.

Yay! I have a store. Now to make content. Can I just make short vids on my webcam and upload? Do I need to edit and compress? I am not savvy in that area at all.

^^ You can do whichever you would like. Some don't edit at all, but compression will help you if you record longer or high quality videos. I use my webcam to record, and I also edit and compress with Adobe Premiere. That said, I sometimes have clips where I barely edit at all.

The only reason I even have long ones on c4s is if they are customs

You know how on your main dashboard there's the button to click to send emails out to folk who have subscribed to receive newsletters from you?

Where on the store page is that option? I went to have a look as a customer but can't see anything other than 'bookmark' which is not the same thing. *puzzled*

Anyone know? I'm just curious. xx

When they purchase a clip there is a ticky box that asks if the want to subscribe to your newsletter, it is checked by default so any guy who purchased from you is probably on your list.

So, I've had my clip store open for a year but only actually started putting any effort into it this month. So far my goal is to upload 1 clip per day, but to be honest I've only uploaded 7 clips in the last 11 days, which I'm okay with. I'm trying different categories (all non-nude) and based on my stats and sales, guys only seem to be interested in one particular category. It's fine because I like this category and I find it easy and fun, in fact I could do a clip a day in this category every single day without a problem. But should I?

So far all of you out there who are making "good" money with c4s, how often do you upload clips in your main niche compared to uploading videos in different, less popular (for you) niches? Should I be worried about only doing videos in this one category, or should I just take it and run with it since I've only sold clips in this category? I'd love to hear how you balance branching out into new fetishes with doing enough content in your proven money-making category.

The more you upload the more you'll make! Research sub fetishes of the one you're currently selling most of, and do some clips in those as well x

I only started this month, uploaded a load straight away and now one a day...I've made clips of all sorts of things and lots of different categories. It's interesting to see what sells but you can't be sure what exactly about it sells, so it's good to explore as many aspects as possible.

I have made my studio...uploaded 10 clips but it still seems to say that only 'gizmo' payments are accepted? plus I don't see it in new studios or recently updated studios? Am I doing something wrong?

So I just got all of my information into C4S, and I'm just waiting for approval. I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on what the most lucrative types of videos are, or how long the videos should be, etc?

I just bumped up the c4s thread

tldr; just film whatever you feel like, the end.

CourtneyRaine
08-16-2012, 02:46 PM
Hmm... I've only started being active on c4s this month but I would say different niches work for differnet people. I just made a variety of different types of videos and then as I started getting sales I let my viewers decide my niche.

As far as length, I have sold videos that were 3 minutes and one that's 26 minutes, but around 5 minutes or so seems to be typical. It also depends on what the video is. Eating a huge meal will clearly take longer than a video of you cleaning your ears, so I think the video length thing is specific to each category. When guys have asked for customs they usually ask for 3-5 minute clips.

Actually, it may sound trite but that is a really good answer for clips4sale!

That's cause they moved it Industry Insight so camguys can use it too.

Some of the best advice I've gotten since beginning camming is that you don't choose your niche, it chooses you. Which is especially true in clips. Try everything, figure out what sells and then continue to experiment and expand while still building in the niche that works for you.

For example: Smoking clips work for me, but I was experimenting with some mouth fetish clips and now have a huge influx of custom requests for that. So while I'm doing customs I don't ditch my original smoking fetish, but I'm doing smoking, mouth and dabbling in others to figure out what works best.

I just got approved also and am very excited to start uploading some videos! I'm going to just experiment with all different types, but I am hoping that there are a lot of guys with a pregnancy fetish so I will be doing a ton of those too.

I was researching other videos and they literally have EVERYTHING. lol.

I just need to learn how to spruce up my profile

maryjaynexo
08-16-2012, 05:21 PM
You won't know what works for you until you upload. Try out 4 or 5 categories, then try out 10 or 20 more. What has really helped me recently has been going back through all my sales for the past few months and writing down which categories and clips I have sold the most of, then taking note of how long they were, what I was wearing, what category they were in, etc.

qwerty24
08-16-2012, 05:23 PM
Don't worry about your profile at first. Try to get 10+ clips up, so they can start selling. Then worry about profile. But honestly my profile is bare bones and I'm still getting sales. Throw up a "Hey I'm 'so and so'. I'm into 'this and that'. Here is an email for customs." BAM! you are done. The clip descriptions are way more important then the profile, so put time into that. I'm not saying that profile doesn't matter at all, I'm saying get to know the niches that you wanna do and then create a profile to reflect that.

I am new to C4S, too. I did several different kinds of clips and apparently my simple crappppy mowing lawn clip is the best seller... of me just mowing the lawn.. in fairly far distance. o.o LOL. So, yeah you should try anything and everything you do and upload it.

maryjaynexo
08-17-2012, 01:15 AM
^^haha that's awesome. I often find the oddest things I film to be best sellers too.

CurvyWinona
08-17-2012, 01:31 AM
yeah! i felt so stupid for uploading but what the hell.... I took SW girls' tip, just fucking upload anything. haha.

Also, do not forget to watermark all your clips! You do not want the buyers to sell or copy your clips on somewhere else!

TheVixen
08-17-2012, 07:53 AM
What should the watermark say?

Mistress Anika

How does the ranking system work? For the past few days I was #27 in a category and one of my clips was #1 in said category. Then as of this morning I am not ranked in the top 50 at all and none of my clips are in the top anymore. That.... seems kind of weird to me.

CurvyWinona
08-17-2012, 10:21 AM
And add about 5 t0 10 seconds of comment page in the end of video with your blog, twitter, email or any kind of contact on it. So, they can learn where to follow you or to send you an email for a custom order request. :)

It goes by sales and $. I think studio is 'sales overall' and top clips is how many times/how much $ that clip has generated - top 50 is monthly, then it kind of resets and then you have to sell to maintain that spot. I am purely guessing - but thats what I'm assuming.

I think Hayden is correct, it goes by total sales in the category to get number 1 studio.

We've been number 1 in one category for a while now, and pretty high up in another 2-3 categories, but I need to get in there and upload more of our clips or we might lose ground. It's been a couple weeks now since we've added anything.

I go through phases where I get lazy about it, but generally speaking I try to upload a couple clips a day.

ETA-Vixen, I merged the threads.

Hmm... I understand the whole ranking by sales thing, it just seems super weird to me how I disappeared completely. Although now I'm back in the #27 spot for studios and have four clips listed in the top 50, whereas this morning none were listed. Maybe it was just a weird glitch when I checked earlier or something.

Hi, i spent hours uploading 10 clips on there today, but i can't see the ones i have uploaded should i be able to see them ?? brain ache! i have emailed them but there probably all asleep i know i should be by 01.52 am :(

I uploaded clips then clicked the add clip at the bottom of the page but when i go to that gizmo thing it just comes up with one clip that i added first of all, each time i uploaded one it said excepted so not sure what the hell i am doing wrong?

Djoser
08-17-2012, 07:39 PM
I don't understand--you have uploaded the clips manually? Then why bother with the gizmo FTP? That's not meant to be a criticism at all, just trying to figure out what you are doing. We still haven't used the Gizmo thing.

Are the clips in different categories? Because if you act as though you are a customer and click on a category, it will only show the clips you have added in that category, not ALL your clips--to see those you have to click the link that says 'Show all categories' or whatever.

Anyway, relax--their support is very good, and when you reach them during their hours of operation they will no doubt be able to fix it for you.

Once you've uploaded the clips go to the top navigation bar and click clip store, this should take you to the add clips page. Scroll to the "Clip Name" category and choose from the drop down list of your uploaded clips. If they're not in that list then they are not uploaded to the correct folder since they have had the accepted upload popup. If they are not listed there then click on the gizmo/ftp, add/del button. Once on that page Use the Choose Folder drop down menu and click on each one to figure out which folder your clips are uploaded to. If it's anything other than clips I believe you will have to just delete and re-upload to clips. Make sure on the left side of upload button the little drop down says clips and it will put it in the right folder.

After your clips are in the right folder you can go back to the ADD CLIPS page and add them to your store. They are not listed in your store until you have physically gone in and added them with description, etc.

I've never not used the gizmo button to upload clips.

Djoser
08-17-2012, 09:59 PM
Aha now I know how the Gizmo thing works, thanks!

For me it has never been a problem to simply deal with the written description, choose the time the clip is to be released, pick a still frame from the video, convert it to an image, and add it to the clip listing--all while the clip is uploading manually. The timing has always worked out pretty much perfectly.

But maybe I will try the Gizmo now, I bet it is better for uploading multiple clips at once for sure. I have used Filezilla FTP on the main site and it works great.

AKAElle
08-17-2012, 10:39 PM
Unfortunately, I have never been able to get the gizmo ftp to upload more than 2 clips at a time, but I do it while I'm doing other things and not streaming live for the obvious reasons. I upload in bulk then go back and set my releases as I please.

(I'm actually working my way through uploading converted clips now while doing a bunch of other stuff.)

^^Email C4S and tell them you are ready to accept payment, along with your bill/proof of address. They usually respond quite quickly. If you already have a store, though, you don't have to submit id a second time.

It's weird, we haven't added any new clips for about a month now, and we've been getting all these new orders the last week or so.

Maybe it's time I got off my ass and got back to work on it. ;D

Everyone has been saying persistence pays on C4S. We aren't as seriously fetish-oriented, but she is very hot, and she is very good at what she does--a winning combination it seems, even in the 'mild' categories.

We were adding new clips every day for about 2 weeks. This time I will go a month and see what happens.
