I would really, really like it if we could see what videos were of ours were in top selling categories. I have a few categories that I check, but it would be cool if I could see it all in one place.

Does anyone know if there is a way to reduce all your clips for a short time like on MV? I have hundreds so I don't really want to do each one individually

its showing correctly in my country (UK)
Returned back to normal later that day for me as well.
Hi everyone I apologize if this has been mentioned or talked about (I read pages before this but couldnt find anything but then again I'm pretty much blind lol) but has anyone noticed a decrease in sales since VAT had been introduced? I know some ladies in here mentioned it a little before but good god ever since it's been pushed, I've gotten little to no sales. At first I thought it was something wrong with my clip store bc the difference is absolutely drastic but it seems to be okay. Also, the clips that are selling are from other countries when beforehand they were mainly from the United States. I went from having about 15 sales a week to about 4. Thank god I'm on other platforms bc this couldve really hurt me. And all the other platforms I'm on are working and making sales fine. Its clips4sale that's been acting crazy.
I'm not really qualified to answer this as my home category is an empty husk of what it used to be for at least the past six months (migration to MV is probably one of the reasons)
But the last several days have been especially pathetic on C4S in particular after I posted a pretty big update it has sold 2 times within several days.
On the other hand *right after* the VAT update (but before I posted this big clip update that I just mentioned) I had this weird mini-influx of sales (all from the US though)
P.S. I'm not even sure if I should be posting that bit above - I absolutely think that C4S is the place for 100% pure fetish (stuff like burping, etc.) it's just that my home category is in this weird gray area between mainstream and fetish which probably makes it more prone to customers migrating to more mainstream sites such as MV.

There isn't the ability for people to change gender in the control panel on here though
We should really have that feature on here.
My sales and hits are pretty much the same with the new VAT. What really matters is what I upload and how often and right now that is NOTHING because the site STILL ISN'T FIXED. Like come on and get it together. Fuck off with the conference calls and fun time podcasts and get back to work on the site that makes us $ ffs

LOL @ "fun time podcasts" I was wondering the same thing, last time I logged in and saw *another* podcast. Meanwhile there was upload issues, email issues, VAT questions/emails and various other things that aren't addressed. Whatever happened to the monthly newsletters? I thought those were going to be used to keep us in the loop about upcoming changes. But we never are. We just know because things that are supposed to be working, suddenly aren't. And was it last year...or 2018....(whatever year was the 15 year mark for C4S) and I remember early in the year we were told of so many things coming up that (sounded) like they would benefit clip producers. The only thing I remember from that was the increased our cut of tributes from 75% to 80%. So yeah.... :-/

I really need bundle function and some good custom clips feature...I get it, things need some time to be done, but honestly how long can it take? I think two years from announcing this super exciting new things coming up is enough. Oh and also why they even created geoblocking since it's not working? Yeah, it's working in our "original" stores, but if u use the new search you can enter our stores from around the world ( I know there are vpns and stuff, so geoblocking it's not something steady, but still it gives me some peace of mind)

Hi and bless you all, please excuse my English.
Is it just me or C4S is having too much uploading troubles at least since february? I've been trying to uploading several clips since a couple of weeks ago and in average every 8 clips the "add clip store" page only shows 3, I have to reupload them repeatedly until the mentioned page shows them, that kills my sales and even my working time because sometimes I have to waste a whole day waiting in front of my PC just to see if finally the admin page admits the clips I want to publish >:(
I'm almost 99% sure it's not my clips problems because they finally appear and once then they work without problem, they make sales and no refunds or anything besides the said to me in the chat they have uploading problems which should be solved in friday but still nothing, maybe it's because they didn't say to me which week/month/year's friday :O
So are you guys having problems uploading clips too? Maybe is a silly question but I don't know what else to do :'(

Just to update everyone regarding the VAT charge being added onto our set prices, rather than added at checkout + clearly marked as a VAT charge....
I have spoken directly to Neil about this | But he has said that:
''whilst he himself wanted to do it with it added at checkout, that apparently his lawyers told him that EU law states doing that is illegal, ManyVids is breaking the law by doing that, and so clips4sale have to add it onto prices because that is the VAT law''. /:O
I'm unaware of any legislation saying this, moreover as clips4sale is a USA based & registered company not EU based, they wouldn't be bound by any EU-specific legislation.
I'm also aware that in USA it's common-place for VAT to be displayed in addition to sales prices (whilst in UK this isn't so).
But so if anyone has any links to VAT legislation which supports that what he has been told is incorrect, that would be appreciated?

I went to check IWC out of interest & cause I’m in the UK and it doesn’t even look like the add VAT at all lol
In shops you don’t tend to see VAT & prices on online stores do tend to include it but at checkout it breaks it down and shows you how much is VAT usually I believe (for most things I buy online anyway)

It'd be great if they could do a breakdown on the store listing price if they supposedly can't do it at checkout. Would save a lot of questions from customers.

From a few minutes of googling about VAT:
It does not matter that c4s is US based. Believe it or not, lots of companies do business internationally and there are definitely agreements in place about taxes, including VAT. Even as an individual selling on, say, amazon or ebay, selling to the EU means you are supposed to be collecting and paying VAT. From my reading, it seems that it is customary to include VAT in the price, unlike sales tax in the US which is added on at the end.
I do not doubt there are other sites that are not in compliance. They may escape notice, they may not. They are running the risk of hefty penalties.
I have not seen any drop in EU sales in my studio since it's been implemented, nor have I sent any communication about it to my customers.
If I did, I personally would just mention it neutrally as info. I feel very confident my customers are intelligent enough to realize it is not "c4s fucking them over" as had been suggested upthread. I own my own brick and mortar business and charge sales tax on appropriate items. My clients are smart enough to know I do so because I am required to and that I do not make any extra money by doing so. I would not 1: think my customers aren't smart enough to know this and 2: impart a feeling that c4s is a platform that is untrustworthy. (I guess unless you're planning on migrating somewhere else and want to trash them on the way out??)
As an aside. My life as a business owner would be much simpler and easier if I did not have to charge and submit sales tax. Knowing that different countries have different VAT rates...I personally do not envy c4s having to keep track and submit all that. So no, I don't see it as them "fucking over" either us or the end consumer because jfc I wouldn't want to have to navigate that. They are following the agreements of international commerce and THEY CAN BE PENALIZED IF THEY DO NOT. And they're big enough to attract attention I would assume.
I do agree it would be nice to have a breakdown or have some sort of general announcement to affected consumers. There is an article for them in the help section but people would have to look for it.

I also have reviewed the EU legislation online, but cannot find anything whch states that a company is ''not allowed/breaching any legislation'' by adding the VAT at checkout page (before the customer pays).
I am based in the UK, and so know that with VAT it's also customary for business to state on invoices a breakdown of the price (what the cost of the goodss/service is & what the VAT cost is).
Studios which were previously selling clips merely at $1 per minute ofcourse will barely be affected, as even with this new price your clips (10mins length) will still only cost $12.
However for studios like my core brand (which sold clips at $17.99 - $21.99 each | 8-12 minutes length per clip), my clips were already selling at the very premium end of the pricing spectrum, and so now having quoted prices being pushed to $20 - $25 per each of those clips does have an impact of buyer's willingness to pay.
I also have a monthly/yearly membership website, and so one positive benefit of the way C4S has implemented this VAT change has been that customers have migrated away from clips4sale and onto my subscription website instead (which is vastly better for me as it means guaranteed money each month), however it is deeply disappointing that clisp4sale have chosen to not add VAT at checkout instead.
Hopefully they will change that in the not to distant future though.

I have noticed a drop in audio only sales (I only sell audios) even with discounts, etc. I was thinking of posting a couple of new clips next week to check.
Just curious how everyone elses audio - and general clip - sales were going? Have things dropped, increased, or stayed the same for you since this whole thing began?

Just thought I'd let everyone know I haven't given up clipmaking :D
I still love it, but only post 1-2 a month since a year. Feels like yesterday that I wide-eyed found this thread and decided to try it. I've become confident these past years and my clips usually do fairly well and also leads to people finding my older clips. It gives me a nice little income on the side but I can't keep up posting more next to my fulltime "day job". I have seriously considered taking the plunge and do clips full time but this VAT thing put me off for a while. I lost about a third of my usual numbers the first month. Now I think customers are getting used to it as it's looking better again.
Just to comment the discussion about adding VAT at checkout or included - while I agree adding it at checkout makes it a little clearer it's not a profit for us, Nordic webshops don't do that (and maybe rest of Europe too?) so people are seriously put off when they encounter this. They feel tricked and it's harder to plan your spending. Added VAT (and confusing shipping rates and customs) keep many off buying abroad at all and middlehand shops are common (yes, Nordics can be very stubborn). I suspect US customers are more used to added fees and take it into account when browsing. Nordics do NOT and they may very well just toss the whole order at checkout. That said, I don't like how the included VAT make clip prices look random and how there was no official message to customers. Hopefully the VAT is clearly specified at checkout at least? I haven't tried a purchase yet to see.
Anyways, I am curious to know how many of you have clipmaking as your only income? This industry is still a mystery to me. One clip will snowball into success while another similar clip goes unnoticed. My average monthly clip income has been pretty stable this past year but when I used to post a lot more (after the initial year of trial and error) the profit wasn't proportionally bigger, just a little bit bigger. So I know making ten times more clips doesn't mean ten times the profit (if that would be the case I'd quit my day job a long time ago and be almost rich lol) Any thoughts on this?
To make it full time, do you have to do your own advertising? This is my weak point, so advice is greatly appreciated. Also, do you post your clips on other sites and which ones? A few years ago I researched the most popular ones but decided only C4S was worth the time. But I suspect things have changed.
And a final thought - this career can be very lonely and stigmatized. I am not ashamed, but it's not something I'd put on my CV, and certainly not discuss with my family. Only a few close friends know. How do you handle the loneliness? What do you tell people when discussing jobs?

I'm about to set mine up and am planning to charge $5 for anything up to 5 mind and $1/min after that. You have to consider that the smaller clips may be quick to record, but you also have to process and upload them.

I use C4S default price (1usd/min + 0.99) up to 19 mins, after that I set it lower, for example 19.99 for 20-29 mins or 29.99 for 30-45 mins. Since they started adding VAT the total price is higher for the customer though. Last time I checked popular studios, some charged more than default and some less (but usually the last category make longer clips)
If I had 3 min clips I would probably charge a bit more than default. Uploading, gif-making, description etc is the same amount of work regardless of length and 3.99 is so low most probably don't care spending an extra dollar or so. Short clips usually sell more but make less. The sweet spot where you maximize income is individual, but I would try various lengths. Maybe you can find an easy way to make them a little longer? For example adding/prolonging a seduction, include a close-up or create an intro if there is a storyline.

what you say about sweet spot is so true - my sweet spot seems to be fairly short which is annoying - I need to stop just making long clips because it's more $ cause they dont seem to sell as well lol

I know they're doing a site wide find/replace of the latest forbidden words so maybe that's slowing down the system? Idk I haven't updated lately.
The site is running like crap today again! Tried to post a clip but it wouldn't display the preview imagine so I had to delete it and will try posting it later. My main problem with Clips4Sale is that they don't communicate with us when the site is having problems. It would be nice to log in and see a message saying "Hey everyone, we're having problems right now. You might have a problem with this, this, and this, and we expect it to be fixed by 8PM on Thursday. If anything changes we'll let you know!" Instead you learn about the problems by posting clips or seeing someone post about the problem here.

Because I'm on week 3 of SIP and I'm bored:
I looked at my March sales in relation to VAT. March was meh+/ok for me. I only released 2 new clips in the last week of the month after about 4 weeks of not posting anything, so I was ok with my total sales all things considered. But I was interested to actually look at how many sales I made that were VAT affected and the average clip price. I almost always use the default pricing btw. Occasionally I'll knock a dollar or two off if I'm in the 20+ minute range.
Out of a total of 149 clips sold, 29 orders of 52 clips were VAT ones. Clips ranged in price from 6.99 to 19.99 EXCLUDING VAT. The average clip price was 13.64, once again before VAT was added.
I'm not bored enough (yet) to compare that to another month pre VAT lol. But my sense is that it doesn't seem to be affecting me much at this point? Lol watch me jinx myself and have disastrous April sales.

I've been thinking in promote my old C4S store via twitter, but it scares me the sole idea that people in my own country can see that twitter account so I would thank you very much if you help me to know if there is one way to make a kind of "Geo-Block" in Twitter and/or Instagram to avoid my relatives getting the way to my store and seeing my NSFW stuff.

Thanks in advance.
Blesses to all and good health for you and your beloved ones.
Im fairly sure theres not on twitter at least

You could take screens hots that don't show your face and promote with those.

First of all thank you very much for helping me :)
Yes, tought about it! But is there any little chance someone of my country with any interest in the fetishes we work could get the way to the store?
The problem is the people here doesn't see something and stop, no; at least in our country in all the social networks as soon as a girl appears in a hot video people doesn't talk about anymore during days and even weeks...is the hell on earth :( I've seen very sad cases before :(
Another thing is very difficult to not show the face in deepthroat videos :(

There are a couple of other things you can do. Heavy makeup like contouring can make a person look very different. You can also paint on or wear a mask like in the picture in linking. You can also get a wig and wear that to hide your hair color. Color contacts can make you look different too. I'll link to a site that sells them below.

I know this is an older post, but I was meaning to reply.
Clips are my sole income. It didn't start out that way, I had a supplemental income the first couple of years until clip money surpassed that.
I have played around with "how many updates to do a month" quite a bit. When I've tried to update every day, I got burnt out. So now I focus on doing less clips, but I put more into them. (Longer, different camera angles, etc). There are so many ways you can do this but I have found that I needed to find a way that I could sustain and not feel creative burnout.
I don't advertise, but then I had a following before C4S and I currently don't post on other sites. (Although I probably should! :P) Everything I read about other sites is that you had to drive your own traffic to them.
"So....what do you do for a living?" ---my #1 hated question. Like you, I'm not ashamed of what I do....why the hell should I be?! (No alarm, no rush hour traffic, my own hours, my own boss, work from home, etc, etc) But, as we all know other people usually don't get it and want to assume all sorts of stuff about you if you share what you do for a living. I usually say something about an internet business, do "stuff online" and try to divert the conversation elsewhere.
I don't find it lonely, more frustrating. Other peoples perceptions of who we are based on this one thing. But it's just something you have to learn to deal with.

I dont feel like VAT has effected my prices actually most of my clips that sold this month were with the VAT. I price the $1 a minute then add a $1 normally unless its a long clip 20-30 mins then I may had the dollar or I may subtract a $1.
At one point yes my sole income was mostly videos, but I uploaded to multiple sites and pushed custom videos really hard, I still make a few hundred a week on average off just videos if I push custom videos also regularly but I am not as active as I use to be. I also use to push video sales when I got live on cam also, I had days were I sat and made $200 a day just selling videos while on cam bc they felt it was cheaper than going private, or they felt that for the cost of a private they rather buy a custom video. But I rarely make an appearance on cam these days. I just started using modetize to help upload on multiple sites at once including clips4sale, so maybe it will help me get back into being more productive.
Best to say something online thats boring like marketing when people ask what you do, I tell people I am a marketing consultant, I do advertising, editing, etc., if they ask who for, I just say a wide variety of companies, its more of a per job based thing. Which is a vague version of what camming and video making is xD. If you just say I work online or online sales they want to know what your selling online, what can they do to work online also, opens it up to too many questions, also dont say sell stuff like on ebay because then you have ppl digging out their attics wanting you to help them sell on ebay, unless thats something you want to do xD

Welp, found one of my clips had been put on pornhub. :( I put a report in to C4S but thought I'd go thru their (PH's) process too. I'm filling it out and come to this:
The copyright owner’s name will be published on Pornhub in place of the disabled content. This will become part of the public record of your request, along with your description of the work(s) allegedly infringed. All the information provided in this DMCA Takedown Form (including your personal information) are part of the full takedown notice and may be forwarded to the uploader of the allegedly infringing content. By submitting this form you consent to having your information revealed in this way.
What. The. Fuck. I've never had to deal with this before, luckily, but what in the everloving fuck. I was annoyed when I saw the clip there but this makes me furious.
As I said, this is my first time dealing with this so I'm sure it's old news to others but uugggghhhhhhhhhh. Obviously just going to hope that c4s takes care of it for me.
Just needed to vent.

Yup, I've heard about that before and I think it's even been discussed here as well. I am going to find a takedown service to hire to get the job done (as I've found some of my stuff on various sites as well). It's such SHIT that personal info could be posted like that and I almost feel as if it's done to deter (punish!) people from (for) filing DMCAs.
