When I 1st started in this industry I was working in association with my former girlfriend | But as back then she was doing more social media stuff than me she setup accounts on forums (such as this) using her details/gender. :)
Myself & her parted company 1.5 years ago now though, and she now has no involement or stake whatsoever in any of my businesses or brands.
Ultimately this website is purely a message board forum, nothing more, and so whatever gender people may choose to identify as is quite frank irrelevant/makes no actual difference to anyone! ;D
There isn't the ability for people to change gender in the control panel on here though | But if you as admin wish to change my account's gender to male, well I personally have no issues with that, as am fine to identify as a male. :)
Just saw this, very sorry. It might seem pointless to you, and you might have no ulterior motives. Not all guys are so honest and forthright. This measure is to protect the women of the forum, because there's plenty of guys who will abuse it. It would be great if you could simply sign up again as a male and stop posting using this account. Other mods might see you posting as a 'female' and ban you, so it's in your own best interest to do this.

Anyone else noticed $1 discounts being taken off some clips? Notification have been strange for a while with VAT showing various ways it is calculated, from what I saw, but the discount is new. I know they were offering a Black Friday/Cyber weekend discount but I didn't think that came out of our end. Now I see the 10% discount is up on the main page, but it wouldn't calculate to the dollar amounts I'm seeing, they have been literally $1 off random clips. If there's a technical problem with my clip usually c4s contacts me about it.

I have no frigging clue re C4S and pricing right now! I went in yesterday and spent ages taking 20% off all my prices only to find that some were then showing as 20% more, some less, some that were in between. No clue. I gave up
Have you noticed that run report can now only do a search of 365 days? That means you can't even get do a proper full search of 2020 because it's a leap year with 366 days. Why limit the functionality of the run report? This pisses me off.

They have removed/changed SO many things in admin that make it harder to keep track of info. We used to be able to see full names, then they changed it to initials, now no name at all since it isn't required. The no name wouldn't be such an issue if customer numbers always stayed the same. I have some customers buy a few clips in one order, then not long after more in another and the customer ID number changes. You can see it is the same IP, same city/state, so why is the # changing? Now I have more difficulty tracking customer's purchases.
There's (now?) a search by username field when searching sales but can we even see those? I haven't had a single sale with a customer's username in it. I can see username's when I search specific clip titles but that of course requires they had signed up for one.
Even the sales emails are a pain in the ass now, not all of the information is the same. It makes it hard to input sales info into a spreadsheet easily. When they changed the way they look to have clip, price, and commission for each individual video it just became a mess to look at.
There's all of these tiny little tweaks to things that don't really matter but all of those features they promised that aren't there yet are just non-existent. I was looking forward to being able to accept customs from c4s, but they seem to have forgotten all about it.

Are you talking about just the sales emails? Because I still see the initials in the Admin under the Detailed Sales Report option. (When I input my sales, I always compare my emails with what the admin report shows.)
There's (now?) a search by username field when searching sales but can we even see those?
Yes. Way over to the right (in the Detailed Report) are the customers Usernames *IF* they have one. I've found the majority of my customers do NOT. I have used that to look up customers before and it's SO helpful. It's helped me link customer orders (on my personal spreadsheet) that I always thought were the same but wasn't 100% certain.
I'm not getting sales emails again. If you think today has been slow then check your sales in Admin.

I'm kind of surprised and turned off by how archaic c4s's site looks. Is that just me? I mean, it must be legit - i know lots of you ladies use it! Was just expecting something that looked more modern and updated.

Were you changing that because of VAT?
It annoys me that now my clips are multiple prices across platforms and I have heard from a few people who have moved off C4S because they charge tax and others don't. But I wonder how long it will take for govs to catch up with those who don't...

Yes because of the added VAT. I had no intention of it but then figured I'm making enough elsewhere to swallow the loss, and it's better to not rely on just one platform as we all know.
Due to IWC's blip the other day where I couldn't upload for two days I decided to use the time to stick a bunch of my vids on C4S. And whaddaya know it's BACK FROM THE DEAD! top 30 already in my two main niches. Will definitely give it some more attention now.

It does look like a webpage from 90's/early 2000. Many customers and users like things staying the same so C4S probably don't find a design update worth it, there are too many other problems to solve right now. The backend is cute I think, it looks like a time management video game :)

There are more modern grid type layouts on the site, but I'm not sure how much customers are using them.

Yes, the new advanced search site is not updating, it started about 25 December, me and my friend reached out to support, but they are not responding to us :/ I've got the generic message that support will get in contact with me, but still nothing from them.

This is one of the things that made me think that there was no way I would ever make any money there, but I definitely get a good amount of traffic. It does look like absolute shit and honestly I am surprised people actually take the time to look for and buy videos from there.
I think that an update would be great as long as they don't do what kinkbomb did. They made it cluttered and it looks like a fucking mess, just videos filling the entire page and all the same shape so they just fill in the entire white space. It is a nightmare to look at.

Thanks for expressing this. I honestly thought i had landed on the wrong page, or that maybe it wasn't worth my time based on the interface. Usually companies that are doing well will upgrade over time. Really appreciate your encouragement!!

Yeah, I only sell on c4s (I'm lazy lol). Started 3 yrs ago kinda as a bit of a lark? Never did anything related before, middle aged plus haha. Don't make enough to support myself but I make about 40-50% of what I make in my other career on c4s so it's def been good for me personally! Oh and I don't do any other advertising, Twitter etc.

I can't even imagine the scope of overhauling the architecture of C4S. They will need to do it eventually, but man....
In the end, I guess the buyers don't care!

That's amazing and encouraging!! It just takes time to build a following and a solid cache of clips, right? I find myself a bit paralyzed by wanting to offer a super high level of production value, which is getting in the way of me completing anything, though I've signed up and have been approved. I'm going to re-read this whole thread and get my act together in the new year.

This is only my personal experience: my production level was not great in the beginning and even now it's still very diy. I use a little HD consumer camcorder. I mean, I do my best but it's not pro level AT ALL.
My first year was not that much lower than the following years (gross sales). Looking back, I think few things were to my advantage. I am older than a lot of producers. I instantly stood out. That won't be everyone's thing but obv it was for some. Like, I think standing out in some way gets eyes?
Also, I deeply understand my niche. I get the psychology behind it.
In the beginning I had a male costar and tbh that very much helped me. My solo sales sucked. But I got more comfortable and eventually my solos started doing well too. This year I was 100% solo. Due to the Pandemic and not being able to film, it was a weird year. 2 of my best months ever, 2 of my lowest. I grossed almost exactly what I did my first yr but my profit is actually the highest (by necessity I use hotels to film. )
Honestly, more than super high production, I'd focus on what's going to make you and your clips stand apart. Find something you can really "get" and enjoy doing.
I remember being signed up and having the clips sitting there and thinking, oh, I need to make better gifs, I need to make my studio cool looking, maybe I need previews etc. Then late one night I said fuck it and hit activate.
Btw I know there are other producers here who do much better than me, just my own thoughts, ymmv. Best of luck and just go for it!

Can't thank you enough for this info. I'm really just hoping to have this as a side gig to augment my vanilla job. And honestly, i also kind of just need a hobby that will keep me engaged. Since dancing isn't an option for many reasons, it seems like this could be a fun side gig. Thank you!! I'm going to take your advice and just activate asap without spending so much time obsessing over imperfections!

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Sinna's ebook and personal advice wasn't EXTREMELY helpful to me. The only advice that I've discarded is the "post a clip every day" maxim. 1: like you, this is a side gig for me; I can't keep up that pace. 2: at a certain point my intuition told me it was not helping and possibly hurting me. I started focusing on quality over quantity. I felt like flooding my studio with "ok" and "clips I really love" was working against me.
At this point I release 3-5 clips a month. I did release more in the beginning and would say that's probably smart to start.
Could I make more by releasing more. Yes, most likely. Although for me personally I do think i have a ceiling. I have a niche appeal, not mass. I'm ok with that.
By filming and posting less I also don't get burned out by juggling this and my vanilla career which involves long hours.
Sorry, I'll shut up now, mostly wanted to give Sinna her due!

I was/am the same. I've actually had my C4S nearly 10 years and it's always had traffic, guys are very lloyal there. I can confirm that when you start getting those sales you will WANT to put more videos out to keep up the momentum, and then you will learn fast how to make them look how you want it close to. You just need that initial exposure, and that will come from more updates at the beginning. Go for it :)
The hit counter in administration seems to be broken. I've gotten about 30 hits on my store in the last 6 hours. Even on a slow day I get more than 30 in an hour.

Hi! First, I'd like to say thanks for keep this thread active. When ever I have question and search google for an answer, this frequently comes up. With the adulation complete, I'm B, and I just opened a clip store. Based on what I've found, people don't normally get many sales in the first few months. We've been fairly lucky (my GF and I are doing everything ourselves, and we operate in a niche) with about 20 or orders in the first week and half. We've promoted a few places, and that leads me to my question. Most of our sales are from two people, making purchases days or hours apart, and I'm wondering how consistent that type of customer is.
The second is, does anyone have any suggestions for free marketing? We promote our stuff at niche tube site, and I have a twitter that's been growing consistently for the past week. Is it worth it to build a twitter following, or is not much traffic generated from that source?
Any other noob tips would be helpful as well.
Thanks,
B.

I'm confused 😁 when I look in my traffic listing on the site, there is 500 hits from Google. It doesn't say anything else, just Google. I never had that many. And by 10th January I made what Is my monthly goal from just clip purchases and on 4th I had 1936 hits. I never had that many.
I don't really know what's the question here, maybe what is going on, who is googling me that much and how could I have that many hits.
I DO NOT PROMOTE ANYWHERE ELSE
aso confused..

I have more than 100 hits from snapchat. I don't have snapchat at all. Where the hell are they coming from? How is that possible?
I don't get it.
But after a very very almost 0 sales december, I'm finally back on track.

I have clip making as a fun side job and I can't recommend it enough. At times I have considered doing it full time, as it is so fun and free. My vanilla job is exhausting but of course more secure. Clip sales are VERY unpredictable (and would be lonely as a full time job)
I will also recommend Sinna's ebook if she still sells it, it's only a few bucks. She went in depth with features on the site that no longer applies, the site is a little more user friendly now. But overall it's so inspiring and full of good advice.
In Sinna's niche posting one clip a day kept her in the number one spot. But in other niches it might just saturate your sales so that none of your clips makes the top list. But, I actually started out posting one clip a day for a few months but posted in various categories just to try them out. It was also a good way to get over my perfectionism. It is very hard to understand what works before you try it so there is no point overthinking it. In the beginning I had many clips that never sold, but as I got more niched and learned what to prioritize I can now earn more posting a LOT less, just 1-2 clips a month. Most of them are customs for regulars.
I don't promote anywhere else, though being active (and genuine!) on fetish forums would probably pay off. I do have a store on IWC as well but my niches hardly sell at all there. You will figure things out as you go. Just start, you won't regret it :)

Check out Sinna's e-book and patreon, if she still runs it. She has in depth advice for only a few bucks, for example how to promote on other sites to direct traffic to C4S. I don't do any promotion myself as I simply don't have time, have clip making as a side job. But if I would, I would start with forums dedicated to my niches. Not sales pitching, but genuinely understanding and engaging with the niche to make content people want.

My best noob tip is to just get started and not overthink it. Do what you enjoy. It is impossible to know what will work and what is worth putting effort into before you try it. Find inspiration from other studios without obvious copying. You will adjust a lot of things along the way. Good luck!

Anyone has an idea of what is in C4S an "administrative hold" and why can be they applying something like that? Do someone here has been into an "administrative hold" in C4S? If so, which reason they did that for in your case and how did you fixed it?
Thanks in advance for answering, blesses to all of you and we hope you stay healthy.

Unfortunately I think Sinna stopped due to piracy. She posted such a heartbreaking note on adult income her site. Having recently had all of my clips stolen and pirated and seen my income nosedive because of it, I can sympathize. Forums used to be excellent way to market, but now they are just places where guys swap stolen files, posting there just announces you as fresh meat :(

Are you new there? Have you supplied everything they want? Submitted ID and all the relevant forms? Banking info? Legal info? Uploaded 10 clips? If you've done everything they asked, send them an email to ask, they're really easy to deal with and usually quick to reply.
Another thought - perhaps they are holding some payments while checking they are legitimate and not fraud.

Well, not a good place to advertise then. But I still think getting to know the fetish is one of the keys to success. Even if you are into the fetish yourself, as I am in my kinks, there are always new angles to explore.

Hi, first of all thanks for answering.
About your questions, we have some years working in C4S (our only platform and income), in 2019 something similar happened when they asked us contracts and ID documents of several models but as soon as we sent them they lifted the hold, the problem this time is they haven't said anything, we used the live chat support on C4S and they didn't say the reason, just that they can't give us more info and as soon as they can they will.
In 2019 they said to us the reason since the very same first day, but this time have past more than two weeks and we are still waiting an answer :(, certainly they are holding our access to admin area and our payment too but they don't say a word about the reason or how we can to fix this situation :(
If somebody have an idea what can be the reason we will be very thankful.
Cheers.

OK this probably will be because of the new rules regarding co-performers (thanks to Visa and Mastercard), you probably need to supply all the information and documentation for all the performers on all the clips. Try sending an email rather than using the Live Chat to ask what you need to do to have the hold lifted.

So grateful for this encouragement!! I'm still working on my initial 10 videos... that's kind of a lot of videos to build up from nothing, but it's a good challenge. It'd be a shame to open your store with only a couple of videos and miss out on the potential to show your range. I've been doing very minimal editing, and i honestly haven't even been rewatching my videos in their entirety, since i wouldn't be able to avoid nitpicking and hating on what I've created, lol!! I'm just making a variety of clips, and I'll see what does well and what doesn't. Trying to remind myself that perfection is boring, and people fall in love with authenticity and flaws! Especially on a site like c4s, it seems.

OK this probably will be because of the new rules regarding co-performers (thanks to Visa and Mastercard), you probably need to supply all the information and documentation for all the performers on all the clips. Try sending an email rather than using the Live Chat to ask what you need to do to have the hold lifted.
Wow, thank you so much for this information, we knew just a little about this stuff which started on December but we didn't know how much this would affect us :(
So now we have another very important question: What happens with our old clips with models who worked with us years ago? They signed one contract for a package of vids or for just a certain period of time, we lost contact with many of them and if we find them again we see difficult they will sign again a bunch of contracts just for free and certainly we can't afford new payments for that number of models :(
So what could we do in our situation, is there a page or site where we can read and find more info about this new rules?
Another thing goofing around our heads is why C4S is being so hermetic about this? Why don't they just tell us "hey your models have to sign for every sigle clip" or something? :(
Thanks you very much in advance.

Everyone seen their new rule?
"No Hateful Content - Racial slurs, symbols, or any other hateful content based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, or other factors will not be permitted on any clips, videos, or images. Content in which religious materials are being desecrated or where the viewer is instructed to desecrate such materials will not be allowed."
BIT IN BOLD: This sweeping generalisation is going to affect a LOT of stores! Femdom springs to mind for a start! (I understand what the rule is for, just the general "any hateful content based on other factors" is far too general and much femdom, BDSM, verbal humiliation etc can fall under this. Sissies? Feminization?)

Hello Cat, this policy isn't designed to (nor in reality ever going to be used to) target producers who shoot content which has domination themes.
(As that would literally mean removing basically every single category)
What they mean by ''hateful content'' is exactly as it states, banning content which is designed to cause/trigger hatred towards a certain category of people, based on those mentioned factors.
*They ofcourse include ''other factors'' to ensure producers aren't able to find loop-holes via which they can post hate-triggering content, such as racism combined with anti-gay content, but themed with a political spin, to make it not fall neatly into any of those mentioned factors.

Thanks, that's a good explanation (better than theirs!). There's been so many policy changes across the sites recently that it's hard to keep up!

That's going to remove a lot of religious blasphemy videos, won't it? These new changes are getting really specific and odd. When did CC companies decide to do this?!

this happened on IWC a while ago, I think MV erased a lot of similar sort of content to? might be misremembering it tho. I find its usually really weirdly enforced tho, racial slurs not being ok but slurs based on sexuality being ok, for example

Yes, it's very weirdly enforced! On IWC (not sure about MV), racial humiliation against white men is still allowed, racial humiliation against men of colour isn't. So you can still do cuckold content for example and talk about how black men are superior to white men, but not the other way around. The rule changes were during the George Floyd BLM situation and I don't believe it was linked to Visa/Mastercard rules, but the companies' reaction to BLM. C4S' decision seems to be Visa/Mastercard related though?

All of these changes are ridiculous. If it's legal there should be no problem. I'm just waiting for someone to be smart enough to start a clip site that accepts payments in crypto only so that way they won't be constantly changing content rules at the whim of whatever the credit card companies deem "offensive" that day.

I see the reasoning for that (whether I agree or not) as they’re relating it to power structure yada yada
but I don’t get the logic of “transphobic slurs are wrong you can’t use tr*p even if you’re a trans woman, but call people homophobic slurs all you like!”
ultimately it should be all or none, imo
but yeah I don’t think MV where told they had to like IWC/C4S seem to have been
Edit to add: I do remember a clip site that took crypto but I don’t think it ever took off

There was one called Bitvids but it just never went anywhere unfortunately.
