If a guy loses his downloads for whatever reason, and still has his receipts, can Clips4Sale give him replacements for free or does he need to repurchase?

I have no idea about that, but I doubt so. If he couldn't download a clip I suppose they should let him download it again, but if he has downloaded it and then lost it it's his own fault. At least that's what I think, I have no idea how is it really.

I expect they will send him another download link. On Adultwork, if the customer couldn't view the movie, they send it to them by email.
No they don't, at least they didn't. I had a customer but some vids his comp died, and he had to re-buy this was in 2012.
Once you purchase digital media it is your responsibility.
I think losing something you downloaded is different from not being able to download it at all, in that case I am sure support will handle the issue, but losing the product after purchase is a customer issue.

Is the scheduling for C4S wonky this weekend? Several clips I put up in different formats and scheduled for the future just popped up right after I uploaded and 'Add Clip' ed them. I wasn't drinking or anything (until now). Happening to anyone else?

If you forget to UNcheck the 'Add this clip now' box, it doesn't matter what time you schedule the clip for in the line below it, it gets added immediately.

Hey girls
Ive been lurking for ages and thought I would finally contribute. Thanks to everyone that contributed to this thread I have read the first 30 pages then my brain exploded and had to stop haha. Ive just opened my shop yesterday and hope to be another success story. My main job in the uk is escort and I webcam as well and this seems perfect as I would like something that brings in income when I cannot work. Seems like its a bit of work to get successful but well worth it.
Thanks a billion everyone! ;D

Do you know how to put a video is the description of a clip? I've seen that in some stores. Do I have to upload the clip somewhere to C4S or host it somewhere else?

I told him to ask C4S. The answer is Yes, IF it's within two weeks of buying them, otherwise no.

You can find some coding help with embedding videos here. (http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_videos.asp)

The system is only set up to allow a clip to be reactivated within 15 days of purchase, anything prior to that then management evaluates the customer and might have to have a programmer get involved but each instance it evaluated separately.

So, I had made a thread about uploading multiple formats. JUST realized I should have put it here... facepalm.... Anyway, since Aureila said it's worth it I decided to go for it. Definitely worth the effort so far. My library is in MP4 and I'm converting to MOV. Linking one format to the other in the description too. I'm pretty much doing equal sales in each format! Once I'm done with MOV I'll probably go to WMV. I was digging through the early pages of this thread and someone said WMV is the most popular. Hopefully that will bring even more sales!

I'm having a hard time finding out if music is allowable in clips. I've seen some posts say yes and some say no, can't find it in the TOS because I'm fine print ignorant. I know if I OWNED/PRODUCED it myself it is totally allowable, but I wanted to do some clips with popular music.

Anytime I shoot a lapdance clip I use popular music and have never run into problems. I know that the most I've sold of any clip is around 30 copies and I'm lucky that none of my content has been uploaded on the internet so my audience is tiny so being found out is slim. Clips4sale also doesn't seem to care because I don't think it's a huge deal. How are they going to police the thousands of clips that go up every day and anyways, no one is buying this content for the music. I wouldn't worry about it.

OK number one, it is not your place--nor is this the place--to tell people whether or not they should smoke.
Number two she is just doing it to make clips for sale--she's an actress for god's sake. Are you going to try & tell any actress smoking in movies or television that she shouldn't ever smoke a single cigarette?
Christ if I could smoke only one cigarette a day I'd never have quit. :D

Just ask Reality Kings how much they had to pay out in fines due to them using copy righted music in their videos.

Try www.pond5.com to purchase music you can use royalty free in your clips. I bought sound effects there for my Halloween videos, it was awesome.
Know how you don't like it when people post your videos all over the web for free. Well, guess what? When you use someones music in a video you are STEALING ! Since the fine for each song is $150,000 I highly doubt your clip will make enough money to cover that bill.
Whether or not it is in TOS of C4S the standard has already been set by the LAW, the U.S. copy right LAWS. These music companies have big time lawyers to fight these cases. Why take the risk? When for $5 to $50 you can go onto pond5 & get music. :)

Very easy to make own music:) Yamaha + programs or just programs and you got what You want without problems. You can make length as long as you need.
I dont even like popular music and sometimes lyric is so stupid.
And if someone doesnt like my music over vids they always can turn off sound and listen what they want.

As far as lighting goes, I use one umbrella, but then I have 100 inch tall sliding glass doors in each bedroom & living room. I get plenty of day light that is perfect for shooting pics & videos.
Take into consideration the colors the walls are painted. If you have dark walls, it absorbs light like crazy & you will need more of it. How tall the ceiling are a factor. Black girls need more light than pale white gals do. There are many factors to take into consideration when it comes to lighting.
There are great tutorial videos on youtube about the subject & how to do it cheaply.

This was another fear of mine. We had such a crappy selection of music to dance to at my club because of it. I'll check out pond5 and start looking into local bands I can talk to. Pond5 actually seems to have a decent selection. I have some friends that do wrestling shows. Maybe they can let me know where they get the music they use.

I used to take Amazon cards, but since they changed their TOS (accepting GCs for services isn't allowed, vanilla or not) I stopped. I just put it up in my store for the agreed on price for 2 weeks marked as a custom. Ya, I don't get 100%, but (depending on the price and category) you can get higher placement in a category and more views from that alone. Bonus is if other customers buy it at the custom price before you change it! After the 2 weeks, I lower the price but still keep it like $2 more than the $1 per min. So a 5 min clip would be $8 after the price goes down. People still buy it. I'm not as active with clips as I would like to be, so it is just easier for me to have C4S be a middleman.
There are other payment processors too.

I do post them most of the time, placement is everything on c4s so it can be worth the 35% lost. For the most part my customs are extended versions that I can't sell on c4s, and accepting payment there and giving them a link is a big no no.

Sex Work Approved Payment Options
Paypal [x] “You may not use the PayPal service for activities that… relate to transactions involving…. certain sexually oriented materials or services.” See this blog posting for ways that PayPal will find to close or freeze your account. Do not use.
Square [x] - “… Will not accept payments in connection with… Adult entertainment oriented products or services (in any medium, including internet, telephone or printed material)”. Do not use.
Amazon [x] - Nothing was found on their legal page, but during a private chat they said, “All Amazon.com Wish Lists found to be used for purchasing items in exchange for legal sex work, be it camera modeling or otherwise, are not allowed and will be removed.” They went on to say that if you are found in violation of their rules, your wish list can be deleted. Multiple occurrences of rule violation and you can lose your entire account, including gift cards still remaining on your balance. Use with caution.
Greendot [x] - Nothing was found in their Cardholder Agreement, but during a private chat they said, ”The Green Dot Card cannot be used for adult website or adult services.” Do not use.
WePay [x] - ”…You will not accept payments or use the Service in connection with the following activities, items or services:
Adult or adult-related services, including escort services, adult massage, or other adult-entertainment services
Adult or adult-related content, including performers or ‘cam girls’.” Do not use.
Giftrocket [x] Nothing was found in their legal page, but when asked about using the site for adult services in an email:
"Your customers can send you gifts through our site, but keep in mind that we are not a payment processor and that is not an approved use of our site. We also only recommend you only accept gifts on our site from people you know." Use with caution.
Venmo [x] - “You agree you will not use the Services to violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation relating to sales of… certain sexually oriented materials or services”
When asked about using the site for adult services in an email: ”We do not provide a payments product for any services or other business activity. Our platform is for peer to peer transactions only. At this time we cannot provide payment services for any transactions associated with goods or services whether or not the related content is adult. Legal adult services will be reviewed on a case by case basis if and when we can support business transactions.” Do not use.
Bitcoin [x] Nothing was found on their legal page, but when asked about using the site for adult services in an email:
"Bitcoin allows you to accept payments directly without involving a third party intermediary. If you click through to the Bitcoin.com website, there’s info there on how you can set up a wallet and get started. Otherwise, there are also merchant processors that you can utilize, some of the biggest being Coinbase and BitPay.”
Bitpay [x] Nothing was found on their legal page, but when asked about using the site for adult services in an email:
"You are able to use us as a payment processor for legal, adult purposes." Sex worker friendly!
Coinbase [x] Nothing was found on their legal page, but when asked about using the site for adult services in an email:
”As long as your company is operating legally and compliant with all state and federal regulations, you can use Coinbase’s merchants services.” Sex worker friendly!
Payoneer [x] This company gave me a lot of hassle when I tried to get an exact answer out of them about what is allowed by the company or even a list of approved sites that they work with. Apparently you’re okay if you’re using one of their approved sites but DO NOT USE THE PAYONEER CARD FOR PRIVATE LOADING.
Quoted: “We provide payment options for people in the adult industry but they need to sign up through one of our partner companies in order to use Payoneer as a payment solution [like] LiveJasmin, Myfreecams and other similar sites.
"But please be advised that people working in the adult industry cannot get paid through the US Payment Service. Your Payoneer card is intended to be used as a payout solution, to get paid from any of our official partners or the US Payment Service. Your Payoneer account should not be used for the sole purpose of Private Loading. Under section 5 of the terms and conditions of that specific service does not support adult work. Please also note that the US Payment Service is not available to those residing in the US.”
Section 5 of the terms and conditions of the US Payment service reads, “You will not accept payments in connection with the following activities, items or services [for] obscene or pornographic items, adult businesses or adult related services, including escort services, adult massage, or other adult-entertainment services, adult performer regardless of sexual orientation [or] personal use such as gifts, loans or payments from friends and family.” Use with caution.
Verotel [x] Nothing was found on their legal page, but when asked about using the site for adult services in an email:
"We can work with online payments for webcam or phone sex, as long as it is implemented in your site with our payment gateway. We can only process for online content, downloads, videos, webcam chat, talk , etc. …If someone is to pay for a service and then there is a real life session that is offered later, we would not be able to process for this.” (Online sex work is okay, RT sessions are not) Sex worker friendly!
Redpass [x] This company touts themselves as “The ultimate payroll solution for the adult entertainment industry.” Sex worker friendly!

It also means you get payment upfront, rather than posting the clip and finding that no one buys it, or you put it up at a high price...the guy who requested it doesn't buy and no one else does because it's at the custom price, and by the time you drop the price, no one else notices the clip.

I've been having them pay through Clips4sale and just losing that $ (after all clips4sale brought the customer to me in the first place) or if it's a customer who contacted me from somewhere else they can pay me with moneypak or put a deposit down by buying an overpriced "deposit" clip from clips4sale. Amazon giftcards I take for any props needed.
Nearly all the outside payment options seem to either have TOS that doesn't allow adult, use Bitcoin (too shady IMO) or they want a hefty yearly non-refundable fee that would eat up all my profit.

i just dont like how they have the max per clip at $99 if they want a 15 min custom what do u do still do it for 99 or have them tribute the extra? how many guys are willing to do this it seems like a hassle for them that could potentially cost u the sale vs having them pay one lump on amazon via gift card. they know we do customs and they deserve a fair price i really wish they would raise the max we can sell our clips for into the 3 digits.

I always make them pay half up front for a custom so I put up a small "deposit" clip for them to buy and download so that I get my money before I start, then the balance after. I do lose some because of the hassle of it, yes.
I hate that there seems to be no real solution to payment processing without investing a ton in an adult processor or giving a company a big bite of my pie.

I've heard of some people splitting the clip into 2 clips. Like 1 $150 clip becomes 2 $75 clips. It seems like it might be a hassle though.
I wonder if you could get away with doing a tribute for the deposit and then posting the clip for the remaining amount? I know you aren't supposed to use tributes for payments, but..... you know, technicalities.....
It seems like every company has a loophole to screw us.

[QUOTE=Sara - Clips4Sale.com;2507087]Okay, I am taking a break from the rule book thumping to post some tips and tricks and suggestions and other hopefully helpful stuff as the weekend starts and you might be making more clips!
I know, don't be too shocked ladies! :O hehe
1. Did you know that you can increase your updates and visibility by posting the same clip in two (2) formats and in two (2) categories?
The most popular formats are WMV and MP4.
To post a clip in two formats - and in two categories, I suggest uploading both of the clips first by using the GIZMO FTP,
Then go to the ADD CLIPS page and add the first clip but in the title field at the end of your clip title add (WMV Format),
Fill out the rest of the page, choose the category that the clip BEST fits in, and click to Add Clip which will make it active immediately.
If your reading this sara can you can confirm this is still the case.
I had put my c4s on the back burner but have been adding clips most days for the past few weeks but only in one format and having read a thread on sw re only being having to add a clip in one category i did a support ticket to make sure if i added my clip twice in 2 different categories but one in a different format i would not be breaking the rules.
The email i got back said i could upload the same clip in two formats but it was best to only have it in one category to stop customers from complaining they had bought the same clip twice.
A few of my clips are suited to two different categories all the way threw the clips as you state above you can add them in two but in different formats is this still the case?
If so is it ok for me to go back threw the clips i have uploaded in the last week and add them in a different format in a different category? of course only the ones that in fact specific to separate category all the way threw the clip.
Also just another thing all you girls will probably be able to answer, when you upload the same clip in a different format at a different time of day do you show up on the front page again?
I have actually only been adding a clip in one format MP4 so far but if i can go back in and add them in a different format and have my store showing up in the front page (all of a few mins would be great) :)

@Bootiebabe You can post in multiple categories as long as the clips are different formats/sizes. I make sure to note in the description that there are different formats available also. It lets the customer know they can get it in their preferred format and keeps them from buying the same clip. I also set different keywords for main clip category on each clip if I can. Gets you more exposure to a broader audience. Just make sure the keywords do actually pertain to the clip. Don't mark it as 'Foot Fetish' just because your feet land in frame a few times. Each individual upload will show up on the front page too. So if you have 1 clip going up at Noon and 1 at Midnight, you show up on the page both times.

I can't imagine customers buying the same clip more than once if you have the same title and same pic/gif, and description. I put in the title the format and size, then reference the alternative format/sizes in the description so they can click and go to them. They do show up Bootiebabe as the system regards it as a different clip.

Thanks classy katy, if thats the case why have they told me different? :( means i have lost out on some hits and i have been uploading lots recently
I have got more to upload today so going to add in different formats at least.
I know what your saying though about them buying the same clip.
I have emailed sara to clarify this. (still awaiting a response) I was reading the c4s cracking down on spamming which i never do anyway, but a few of my clips could easily go in two separate categories due to the fact the fetish would cater all the way threw to both.
But the response i got was its just better to stick to one to stop the risk of guys buying the same clip :/

I put up clips in 4 different formats and if my clip fits into 4 different categories (most of the time the clip fits into 2 or 3 different categories), I will post it in 4 different categories. I now put links to the other formats in the description and each clip has the same description and gif so the customer would have to be really dumb to buy the same clip twice. I've never had someone buy the same clip twice.

You can find a lot of royalty-free music on the internet which you can download and use, some pretty cool stuff too actually: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/
If we are made aware of any issues with regard to copyright infringement we do act on it accordingly.

You need to actually CHANGE the format which means you must re-render the actual clip. You can't simply post it and call it another format, and even if you change the extension yourself it is STILL the original format AND it's now been broken because it's not a valid file type to what you originally exported the clip out as and saved it as too.
Here is a free converter you can try... http://www.freemake.com/downloads/

I am curious how do you ladies go about making your clips? Do you get someone to professionally film them or DIY? Do you use a webcam, camcorder or what? I want to get started on C4S but I'm a one-woman show who uses my Logitech for everything.
I'm also curious about photo editing. I have not edited a photo before but have the Freemake software downloaded to convert my vids to avi format.
