I am curious how do you ladies go about making your clips? Do you get someone to professionally film them or DIY? Do you use a webcam, camcorder or what? I want to get started on C4S but I'm a one-woman show who uses my Logitech for everything.
I'm also curious about photo editing. I have not edited a photo before but have the Freemake software downloaded to convert my vids to avi format.

I use my Logitech c920 webcam and my laptop, and I use a Blue Snowball HD mic. I record using the Logitech software at the highest setting and then add the clip to windows live movie maker for editing. You can watermark the clip using the caption function. You can then save the clip in different sizes, I custom made HD 720x1280. Then I use Freemake for converting to MP4.

I use Cyberlink Powerdirector.. it was like $100 and it's pretty easy to use! They have different versions, and they offer a free trial.

Can I join Clips4Sale if I only have audio mp3s and not videos and such?

Also, I have tried on three different browsers on each one it says please enable cookies - cookies should be enabled on each. And yet it's not letting me even attempt to sign up because of this - any clues? Thanks!

I don't, but found this doing a quick search - some good advice and links in there.

I am slightly familiar with green screens from a past job, so even though I don't know the effects side, I would say consider what you want to do in terms of size and if you have just a stand behind your or something that also covers the floor.

I've seen stores that are mostly audio or vids that are really just special visual effects with text (with a hypno voiceover) or slideshows of the model. Maybe you can make an audio only version and one clip with some visual aids. That might get you more hits too.

Hi, I have a question for any UK based storeowners.

I recently opened my store and have received a custom request, but I am very confused about how to accept payment.

The customer mentioned Paypal which I thought was a big no-no, however when I asked, C4S Customer Support have told me to use PayPal. I remember seeing something somewhere about Paypal UK being OK for adult stuff now, but even if this is correct, wouldn't the buyer still be able to see my contact info?

Also, I am unclear on whether C4S take commission from customs and tributes?

I hope someone can help!

Hello, THis should help with any questions you have. Key to green screen is 3-4 pro lights to light you up from side to side top and a bit of the back of you.

I don't know if the TOS for Paypal is different in the UK vs the US, so I can't help you there. Commission in your store is you get 60%, tributes you get 65% (I think). As for various payment options, there were a bunch discussed on page 72 of this thread.

^Oops, thank you for this Aurora14.

I had read the whole of this thread ages ago and skimmed it again recently but completely missed the info on page 72.
I found out Tributes commission is actually 75% as I went through the info on C4S setup page again.

Ok I can't for the life of me figure out how people put links in their clip descriptions. For example if you want to link them to other formats of the video or similar videos. I tried this and it just comes out as regular html. lol

I do this (but I don't think guys pay much attention)...go to clip store...list clips...left click on "direct link html code"...edit as you wish...right click and copy...paste in description.

Okay, so I uploaded a video in wmv format, and plan to upload the same video as mp4 format under a different category that it applies to. Here is my question, can I use the same gif? If yes, will just changing the file name work and I can use it on two different uploads/videos or will the c4s site recognize its the same gif and it not work? Will I have to make a 2nd gif or photo for the mp4 upload?

Thanks in advance.

AureliaC

^Def use the same gif. Sometimes I change the order so the picture that shows up on the carousel etc. applies directly to the fetish I put it into, but I use the same pictures, c4s won't care

TransdimensionalPrincess
03-27-2014, 08:04 PM
@Aurelia, thanks so much. Its weird it works for you, I just tried it and it didn't work. Maybe its because I make my own gifs? I decided to make a gif similar to the one on the
wmv video on the mp4, just shorter.

AureliaC
03-27-2014, 08:37 PM
I think you may be having another issue, I've never heard of anyone unable to use the same gif on multiple clips (or anyone that uses the c4s generated ones, yikes). I might email tech and ask them whats up

Jinja

I make my own GIFs and I've been able to use the same one on multiple formats.

TransdimensionalPrincess

I think I fixed the problem, I copied the original gif, changed its name, deactivated the clip and uploaded the same gif to the mp4 format as the wmv format, waited an hour and when I reactivated it worked. I'm not sure if changing the name to something very different from the original gif name did it, or deactivating did it. But I got it to work, thanks so much girls for your input. When I tried uploading the same gif the first time the file name was similar to the file name on the first video (the wmv format), so I am not sure if that was the problem why it didn't work originally. Hope this makes some sense... lol

But now if anyone else ever has the same problem as me hopefully they will see this and this will work for them too.

I was specifically told not to take C4S tributes for ANY services, including webcam or custom videos. C4S told me to use it strictly for tributes only, and no services due to the chargeback policy.

Ladies with glasses! I'm in trouble. Just got my glasses yesterday. I look better with them, I see better with them, but no matter what I can't seem to keep reflections from my lights/laptop from showing up in them. I've tried adjusting angles, moving lights, but I can't figure it out. Do I have to just keep working at moving things around? My lightbulbs are those eco friendly type, but I haven't changed to the daylight type. I also have one light where the shade busted and haven't replaced that yet (I think replacing the shade should help). Any tips besides keep experimenting with the angles?

My best advice is, if you are trying to hide your identity to not wear the glasses you wear in every day life on camera. Glasses will make it easier to spot you out of a crowd even more, or if any one in your life is 'wondering if thats you' as soon as they see the same glasses on you as on camera they'll know for sure.
Here is what I did: I went and bought glasses just to use on camera (as I also think I look better in glasses), and with the lens get NO GLARE coating, and seriously they work 98% of the time to show no glare from the computer and lights.

High-index lenses reflect more light than regular glass or plastic lenses, so anti-reflective (AR) coating is highly recommended for these lenses. (found that on the web) over here http://www.ousleyvision.com/eyeglasses-lenses.pdf and in the PDF they talk about the coating the previous poster mentioned.

I stick with the suggested price unless it's something in one of my popular categories or is a custom. Charge what you're comfortable with. You don't know what you can get away with charging until you charge it.

Okay so I was told to contact support when I had 10 clips and was ready. But after uploading my 10th clip it looked as though my clip store was finished and ready to start taking payments. However though according to my statistics I had 250 hits that first day, there were no sales. So I called support and the guy with the sexy voice told me that my store would be ready within 16 hours or so (I forget). Might have been two days, I wasn't paying attention. So I am wondering, was no one interested in buying my clips or does my store have to be approved first? It seemed like it had been approved and looked as though I could buy my own clips O_o anyone know?

Also... I noticed that many models (in their clip stores) when you look at the page (without clicking on anything) the clips are automatically giving silent previews. When I look at my own clip page it is just the static images I uploaded to represent my videos. Do I need to create animated GIFs in order to have the silent automatic previews and if so is there a program for this that I can acquire at no cost?

AureliaC
04-01-2014, 05:54 PM
^You can choose the option on your clip upload page so that c4s generates a gif for you (not recommended), or you can take images from your clip (not sure what editing software you use) and put them into an online program like lunapic. I don't think that's really enough images, but photoshop is pricey.

Previews and gifs are two different options you can choose. If you choose previews it will automatically show the biginning of your clips in grainier quality then they are. If you choose gifs the site will automatically generate them, but you can make your own within the site's software (choosing the frames you want from the first five minutes.)

I was told that after I had uploaded 10 unique clips, to call the site and tell them that my site was ready to go and then they would review my site/clips and either activate it (or not I assume) but after I set my shop up the, "This store cannot take payments at this time" banner disappeared by itself. But then I recently called them to let them know it was ready and they told me it would take a while to activate it. Is this the case because I haven't sold a single clip? Do I suck? I thought my clips were pretty good.

JessaJade
04-02-2014, 02:00 AM
^It will probably be activated very soon; I have recently opened a store and noticed the customer support can really vary from being very helpful to giving very frustrating generic responses that dont address your specific query at all.

I suppose it depends who is on shift when you contact them!

It is interesting looking at the sales reports and finding what sells and what doesn't, I have clips I thought were good and havent sold at all, and just like everyone said, a certain niche seems to have found me and whatever I do in that category keeps selling, even if I am not that impressed with the clip myself, haha.

My boyfriend can't understand why my ass fetish clips have hardly sold, he thinks people are missing out there

Whenever I call producer support I get the same guy with the same sexy voice, sounds European, maybe Italian. I was disappointed when on Live Support Chat I was given terrible answers about my questions regarding automatic GIFF previews. I was told instead to just activate a ten second preview at the beginning of every one of my clips. That would be a title animation and me fully dressed for like three seconds. But I guess I should have kept reading until I had read and explored every option on the site. At one point I think I found tutorial videos but I haven't been able to find them since.

When you go to Clip Store, under that you have the optioon for List Clips. You see all the clips you uploaded, along with the category Admin. One of the icons there, the fifth one over, says gif at the bottom. This is where you can make your own gif on the site. the instructions are pretty clear once you play around with it.

Just because no one bought anything means nothing. I can have a day with 600+ views and no buyers or barely 100 views and make like $50. You never know when they have money. People can still buy stuff with the other payment method, but most people use their CC, the CC payments are what you are waiting for approval for.

In regards to knowing if your site is taking CC, Activation doesn't take too long. Whenever I have questions, I email [email protected], let her know your store # and the issue. She can get it cleared up quickly. Took 20 mins to clear up the last issue I had. When she has time she pops into this thread too.

I just have C4S generate a GIF automatically. I know it's a no no, but I don't have the time to learn how to make a GIF (It's probably super easy too I'm guessing), maybe I'm too lazy to learn GIFs... I still sell stuff. I just try to have a good description instead.

for customs on clips4sale, how do you get the guys to pay for them? I've read some girls receive payment through other methods so they get 100%, but I know things like Amazon gift cards aren't safe to use for this and I think I read private loading on a Payoneer card isn't really allowed or something? So how do you girls do this?

From what I've read here you can use payoneer private loads as long as they're not more than the payments you receive from sites you work for.
I don't know what's the problem with amazon gift cards.

I would just assume you post the clip in the store and allow them to buy it. I think I was reading something somewhere here about getting half of the money up front by creating a "pledge" video, essentially a video about nothing that they buy in order to get half of the money up front and then post the custom video for sale in the clip store and if I am not mistaken you can create other clip stores, maybe one specifically for this purpose? Maybe someone will chime in and confirm or deny.

Amazon e-gift cards are pretty safe. Like, it's *extremely* rare that someone can take them back/cancel them - to be on the safe side, use them right away if you can or within a couple days. Don't just let the money pile up so you have multiple g's sitting in there, haha, you technically can have your account closed so that would be risky, but it's sooo rare that I wouldn't worry about just one videos worth of Amazon money. It's one of the safer methods. Make sure you link them to the Amazon site of your own country!

Giftrocket works but it takes 3-4 business days to show up in your bank account. So, you can wait for that to post to your bank account before making and sending them the video, unless they're a very trusted and generous reg that you feel comfortable sending the video to before that. I only had a giftrocket canceled once, and it showed up like an hour after it was sent so it was no biggie, nothing wrong with the person who sent it but they wanted extra verification from them because it was a large amount. Make sure that it's actually "Giftrocket.com" and not a variation of that name.

You could also use something like CMD, there is a limit to how much money they can send on there a day. Like 250 or 500? And they can only send half of that at one time and then wait 5 minutes before the next half. Also Mark (the owner) will prob want to check in with you for large first time spenders. But you only keep 75% the first $500 on there.

There's greendot cards, some people think they're iffy but it's worked for some people, there's lots of info if you do a search here.

Other gift cards like you can get Target gift cards, Macy's, see if any store you go to offers e-gift cards and look at the terms. Problem with gift cards and such is if you're in the US a lot of times they also need to be in the US to work. Except for Amazon, which will work as long as you send them the US site (if you're in the US).

Other then that yeah, there's a variety of payment platforms but I don't know much about them. I don't see why you couldn't use Payoneer though if you had the right set up? Thing that scares me about those is chargebacks.

This topic doesn't receive much action on this website. I almost feel bad for so many recent posts. And I have had to send private messages in order to get answers.

I am wondering if that is because this type of work doesn't pay anything? I have been on Clips4Sale for about five days and I made about seven dollars selling one clip.

I have no idea how to boost my sales other than creating a FaceBook that by nature is designed to out me as a sex worker to my family or be shut down because it violates FaceBooks rules that your entire live has to be an open book or your account will be closed. And FaceBook is the most disgusting thing I have ever experienced on the Internet, I suppose it is okay if you have a humdrum life that you want everyone to know everything about but for sex work O_o ?

I am going to be cherishing my seven dollars that it took me two weeks of learning Adobe CC to make. Two weeks of struggling with video production.. and about three days of filming. And I hope I don't live to regret this as the three weeks I failed to be working on Streamate.

Thank you so much for your help! I've always used Amazon gift cards right away so they couldn't cancel, I just get anxious about them not really being ok with adult stuff. And with SM being so bad for me right now having the money would be better than using it to buy something that I don't need right away.

I emailed Payoneer about private loads, but haven't gotten a response yet, it'd be nice if I could do that. I'm on CMD, I don't know why I didn't think of using that to receive payment, so thank you!
