It's not legal at all, but I guess people are unlikely to prosecute you about it. A bunch of top studios do it and I doubt they buy the rights. To make it legal, yes, you'd have to get the rights from somebody, including having them sign a release and give you a copy of their ID.

Blech. I knew it. Not worth the hassle. Maybe I'll just have to find my own shemales and photograph them. lol.

Yes, not quite the same type of people but when I was on cam quite a few guys would visit to say how much they loved my clips on c4s. They liked just saying hi, which I was cool with, and appreciated! A number of them did go private, and it's a good opportunity to get the higher private rate if they sign up through you. If you do the same things on cam as in clips it could pay off well.
I had those people too. They used to say i love your clips, but they have not purchased even a cheap one. So they can go and stick their" likes" somewhere else.
Beside paying costomers you may attact those gif wankers, i decide not only devide but also take another name. But this is my thoughtfull decition, we def doing different things on cam and on clips4sale. i will do a skype but i dont want those people come on freechat and feel "free" to sit like forever;)and talk to me.

Hey girls, I stumbled upon some c4s hiccups videos, on 4shared. Any of you have hiccups videos ? Maybe PM me so I can tell you if you're in the list and give you the url so you can send a DMCA or ask C4S send one for you.

And speaking of DMCAs, has anyone had any luck with the Content Piracy Report tool , from C4S ? I've sent them a link for a video on youtube, but two days later the video is still up. I was wondering if it's effective, or I should send a DMCA myself, hoping it would go faster and YT would remove the video. I don't feel comfortable with it up there, I'm losing sales :(

^The videos I've reported are usually taken down within a week. It's a little longer than it takes to remove them myself but I don't have to give out my personal information, so I'm content.

Yeah, personal info is what I'm worried about too, especially with YT, since they publish it instead of the removed video. Think I'll wait, arghhh ! Thank you Sophia.

Wanted to post this as some good info for clip software. Not my words. Found it here: http://digwww.com/forum-10216315-2/how-do-i-get-started-in-adult.html

I currently use the following softwarea€|
Adobe Premiere. I use this to pull the video from camera, and used to use it to process my clips. This is simply too slow for me since I now process many clips at a time, but would be good for you since you do not have volume. You can pull the clip from your camera via FIREWIRE and then cut, watermark, and process the clip all in one program. You do not have the multiple options for encoding, WMV, QTM, and so on which is helpful for later use. But it is a good program for your initial needs. I still use it for pulling the video myself. However, I then use other programs to make things much faster. I also use this program in the first step to render a DVD.
Sorenson Squeeze.
I use this program to import my videos, and compress them. It gives you the option to process many clips in a que, which I love, so I can load it up and go to bed. You also have the option to easily process the clip into other formats if you like. Which is helpful for limited content library and clip store use. It has a lot of other features I do not use, but it is a very robust program.
VideoCharge
I use this program for watermarking. Since I do many clips at once now via Sorenson. I also use this program to cut up processed clips. This is done in a few seconds and wastes little time. Which is nice. When you do this in Premiere, you have to wait for it to re-render. Again, not a big issue for you since you are starting out, but it is a hassle when you are trying to rerun 20 clips on stores and sites at once.
FrameShots
This little gem is awesome for video captures. You need vidcaps for your clip store, or I would recommend it, as I have found out that is converts best for me. You do not want to have to manually go through frame by frame trying to grab 6 shots from a clip. This program you can load up the clip, and set it to pull 10/50/100 whatever snaps, and then you just roll though them and pick 6. It does a nice job, and makes it much easier.
CuteFTP Pro
I use this program for my uploading of clips. I am not sure what all else is out there anymore since I have never had an issue with this program. I just update it so often as they add in new features. It does well for your uploading of clips, whether to site or clip stores. I do not like to use web browser uploaders. In fact, I cana€?t fucking stand them.
Adobe PhotoShop
I use this program for piecing together my 6 shots for the clip store. You do not need anything this fancy for this simplistic use. I am not sure what all else is on the market, but a simply editor should do the trick and there may even be a free one for this minimalistic need. I also use it to crop, and clean up, the raw images from shoots so I have it for TGP submissions and such down the road. TGP submissions are how you get a lot of links, and some traffic. It is really becoming more important for SEO purposes then it is for traffic generation now a days.
****
A special note for those of you who are college students. You can get a discount on a lot of software by faxing them a copy of your college I.D.. Sometimes it is as much as 50-70% off!! So it is worth your while to check into it. Especially if you have a college I.D. to fax in for those more expensive programs.

I second the above, I use Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition to perfect my clips.
I was hugely impressed with the ability of these programs to literally cut out anything you dont want/ add in anything you do want etc etc.

well worth the money you pay for them-Adobe creative cloud is a great and cost effective choice for those who dont want to shell out thousands for these types of programs just pay month by month

IMO, not worth selling anything less than HD, unless it's all your camera can do (like my older videos). I don't have the statistics but by and large when I offered HD wmv, SD wmv (480p) and HD mp4 and SD mp4 (480p) people would first buy HD wmv (1080p or 720p) and second HD mp4. I only occasionally sold smaller format clips and often I thought it was just because it's what they found in the category they were searching...I've recently started only offering HD wmv.

I have customers that specifically want a smaller MP4 size...they are the ones who want to download straight to their iphone (or whatever) and have slow internet. I find that guys mostly just buy whatever size or format is in the category they are looking at, they don't seem to follow the links to other sizes or formats.

I thought C4S announced that we are only allowed 3 formats per each unique clip now? Excuse my stupid question but does it not count if you stay within one category of file format?

(Sorry if this is a really newbie question but the whole different file format thing confused the heck out of me.)

That's correct, we're only allowed 3 or they'll give you a warning.

re: different formats. I tried making all the different formats available in the beginning. It was so time consuming + I wasn't making a lot of extra from the different formats. It felt like a big waste of time.
there are programs like VLC that work on both Mac and Windows and it will play anything you throw at it. I don't really see the point.

That's what I believe. I offer the different resolutions because some of the clips I put up can be lengthy so they end up being big files. Buying a 4 minute clip in 1080p isn't a huge amount of hard drive space but a 15 minute clip can be. I don't want "how big a file is" being a deciding factor if they buy or don't buy. That's why I offer them the choice.

You can have 2 file formats in different sizes:

In an effort to help our producers when uploading content, please note the most popular and preferred file formats by customers are: MP4 and WMV
The maximum allowed is TWO (2) FORMATS per Unique Clip.
WARNING: Do not spam updates by adding miscellaneous clip formats. Studios that abuse clip updates to be re-listed in the “Recently Updated” lists will have their clips deleted from the servers without notice.

CLARIFICATION
To clarify yesterday's broadcast message regarding clip formats, please note that the message was seen by ALL producers, it was not directed at any individual studios. Broadcast messages are sent to ALL open studios on the Clips4Sale network of sites.
Our intension was not to force any studio owner to use only MP4 or WMV. Our recommendation is to try to only use two (2) formats per unique clip. However, you can do HD and SD versions of each format which would equal four (4) clips, if you feel the need to offer more options. Or if you shoot in MOV, you could do MOV and MP4, in both HD and SD as described above.
What we are trying to avoid are duplicate clips added in obsolete formats for the sole purpose of spamming the main and category list pages.
We are trying to explain the importance of correctly uploading formats which are not only relevant to current technology, but also directed toward the changes we are making behind the scenes at Clips4Sale which will enable customers to get clear and correct results from their searches. Our ultimate goal is to increase your visibility as a studio when a customer searches for the content you produce and allow the customer to get the best results when they visit Clips4Sale.
PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to delete anything currently in your studio. It is not retro-active this is just a recommendation as we move forward.
We know that some studios have been using multiple versions to increase their time on the recently updated lists, we have noticed others do it because they are trying to stretch out their content, and some studios also do multiple formats of the same clip believing that our search tools only use the main CLIP CATEGORY and disregard the RELATED CATEGORIES - which is incorrect.

CURRENT SEARCH ENGINE
When customers use our KEYWORD search the following attributes are what is searched the CLIP TITLE, DESCRIPTION, CLIP CATEGORY, RELATED CATEGORIES and KEYWORDS. We have already introduced the expanded search features which now enables the customers to find ANY keyword or related categories currently selected by a producer when initially adding a clip.

does anyone care to guess how much the top 3 studios are making weekly? i'm talking about Top Studios left column on the main page. And are they in that position mostly because they spend a lot of time and money to advertise offsite?

visiono
02-10-2015, 12:08 PM
About 70% is from outside of c4s but, once your studio becomes Top 50 or you have a Top 50 clip, it becomes about 50/50. Also, the one thing about c4s traffic is that they are on there TO BUY VIDEOS, not just to see what your site is about like some of your traffic from outside of c4s is.

it this 70% outside c4s costing you money or is it just your own grunt work to get free traffic that buys?

I know the top producer is making no less than 40k monthly.

I've hit #27 on top clips on the main page - that particular clip making between 250-400/day alone for the few days it was ranking.

Keys to being a top C4S producer

- Good lighting, good camera, clear audio and video
- Consistent and frequent updates
- Unique content

The latter 2 being the most important. You do not need to invest a ton of money offsite, C4S has a good deal amount of traffic by itself.

thanks. Is that 40k per month after their 40% take or is that gross sales?
also, do you feel the top producer will make that 40k monthly using only c4s traffic?

Again, is that gross sales of $250-400/day? What is the increase in sales volume when this clip hits #27 vs nowhere on the top 50?

Do you think its possible to get to top 5 in 12 months starting from zero?

MissJu
02-11-2015, 11:17 AM
Lol, i think everything is possible. If you put a bunch of vids like 50 in many cats and after update everyday in different categories, at the same time not some ballon vids or some fetish which maybe one person on a million has. But i have seen some nonsense in top so everything is possible.
40k that what studio earns after the cut.
But again you are asking questions, but we dont know how you look, what vids you want to make, and etc. yes clips4 sale has enough traffic, why you so worried about i dunno.
You have to research market, i see you have not done that well.
I have lets say idea which i will make sometime soon, but i need money for this idea and i cant dedicate time too yet. But i know it will sell well. But also i want to put like 100 clips at once and after already have for a couple of months updates. And ofc to make100 clips i need $$$ and time.
Haydenblue meant that 1 clip made that much alone!

Hello,

I have a question and very appreciative if someone can answer it. I recently purchased a Canon Vixia. It shoots in 1920*1080p. Before this I was using my Logitech 920 webcam to shoot all of my clips.
I filmed a 3 minute long clip using my new Canon and uploaded it onto C4S. It is 311 MB for almost three minutes. Does that sound right or is that too big of a file? Do I need to change something or convert it?

Thanks a lot

Thats a lot for a short clip, use handbraker look up online i think its free. I shoot very heavy clips, i mean 15 mins 2 gb almost. Use handbraker to resize them, check out tutorials on youtube. When handbraker resize your clip it will be 50 mg. and still same good quality

Yeah I just recorded a 9 minute clip, went to upload it onto C4S and says it will be 1.62 GB. Huge file! Yeah I definitely need to resize it smaller lol. So there's no way to change that on the Canon camcorder itself I'm assuming? I would just need to shoot it and then resize smaller.

Thanks a lot!

Well as higher raw file as better quality. https://handbrake.fr
You have to resize it bcuZ people may get turn off if they see 1.6 gb and if they are in hotel with so so internet or even at home. You can reduce 1.6 gb to 200 mg wit no prob.

I think she meant converting SD into HD--probably to make more sales-- but you're just joking I think :D I think if your clip isn't shot in HD you should be honest about it not force it into "HD" to try to make more sales. There are super cheap HD camcorders (like $200) and you can even shoot HD clips on your phone or webcam these days.

I shoot with a Canon DSLR and use Sony Vegas to edit. When you render the files with Sony Vegas, it will compress the file to a more manageable size. I honestly don't think what you shoot on really matters. The content matters most. As long as it's reasonably lit, you're usually good.

If you're anything like me, you will find that Sony Vegas is crazy confusing. Windows Movie Maker is good if you don't want to do anything besides cut parts of your video out. You can save videos in very high HD and significantly reduce the video size without compromising the HD of the video.

I found VideoPad Video Editor for free and it has been so easy to use, much simpler than any other editor that I have used. Makes it a breeze to edit videos, add effects, and still save the video in HD while saving in a smaller file format. (Especially from DSLR!)

SophiaSylvan

It's a bit confusing but not too bad. Much more intuitive and user-friendly than Premiere (haven't used it in years though, I use Vegas- or rather Sony Movie Whatever as it came free with my camcorder. I heard Premiere is better though and I may get it when I upgrade my camera next. Movie Maker is OK for basic stuff but I personally hate it. I like to have room to grow and I like to add transparent layers and basic effects sometimes, and be able to tweak the colour balance and cropping and such.

Premiere is a pain in the ass to get used to but in my opinion, once you get through that teething stage of learning it, its the best available.

OK so finally had a moment to write this little note...

First of all THANKYOU for all of your advice and help on this thread, oh my god what a wealth of knowledge! I poured over this as I built my clip store and I seriously couldnt have done it without the help of this site and this thread specifically.

**Secondly, I was wondering if the experienced/wise members here could critique my store for anything that I may have forgotten to do OR that I need to correct?**

I have launched my C4S store in the last 24 hours, with 11 films so far and about 100 more for other categories stored and ready to be updated about 2-3x per day.
sales have started rolling and I am pretty pleased so far.
Today I will be uploading my "standard file size" and "small file size" versions of the clips I have already on there in a large file size, so all up there will be 3 sizes to pick from in 1080P

**Looking at my newbie store and what I am doing so far:**
Would you have any critiques?
am I doing anything wrong?
could I improve in any way?

I would REALLY appreciate any feedback, I am completely cool with constructive critism etc-I would love some honest and informed feedback pretty please...

here is my store link:http://clips4sale.com/88724

thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to have a look

WOW! @Sophianz, I'm a newbie at C4S as well but your page and content looks amazing and professional! I've also read this entire thread, took notes and applied most of it in my store. Your store is awesome, no wonder sales are coming in! Congratulations! Your standard quality looks magnificent while your HQ ones are---I can't even. I think the GIF previews, although brief, is short enough for guys to KNOW that they will get their money's worth when they order clips from you. It's also short enough that guys can't wank off your previews. Also, I've noticed you only have "this video contains..." on two of your clips. I think your descriptions are perfect but some of your clips' descriptions don't have this. I believe putting that up is good for SEO/keyword search. If you're just in the process of adding them up then ignore me, LOL! You clearly know what you're doing. ;D I hope you continue to get more sales! I think you're doing a great job. :D

I also just want to say that so far I got 3 sales overnight while I'm sleeping and already got one custom requests! I know it's not a lot but I'm truly grateful! C4s is the bomb for passive income! It feels AMAZING! I just have to set up my Twitter to drive more traffic to my store.

I would also like to THANK YOU GUYS for contributing your knowledge, giving out tips and tricks when you should be keeping some of them as secrets. Thank you so much for sharing!!! I do believe that without you, I wouldn't even make a sale. Ok, maybe I'd make a sale, but you know what I mean! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! :party2:
