Right now I watermark with just my cam name, which I use on everything, and my credits page now just takes them to my standalone website and has my twitter. it used to list all my links, but this is much simpler.

thanks honey.
i am ok with my first few weeks hits so far (around 3-4000 I think)
they have translated to sales everyday & a well priced custom.
my goals are definitely to get my traffic higher asap though as im obviously WAY lower than you girls.
i guess i am pretty impatient to be honest.
I see alot of the top 50 tend to be long time studios (tara tainton has been going since 2008 i believe)
Did you have a time frame where the store started to self propell? was it slow traffic wise/sales wise the first few months?
Its hard because I am proud of my sales, but of course want more...just want to be realistic about it.

I'm not a typical case, sophianz, in that I dabbled in c4s but focused on camming. I only uploaded a couple of times a month and didn't take it seriously. I wish I did! I'd be happy if I made payout at all. Only when I started to do regular updates did I realize its potential. I was just not smart like you girls, I didn't search for a sex worker forum or find out about it before I began. The "if you build it, they will come" motto really is true for clips4sale. Your store is so new, but high quality, sophianz. I think this will be true for you.

Thankyou!
I really appreciate that & the ability to ask advice on here!
Are any other girls willing to share the traffic details/opinions and observations from when they opened their store?

Lets say...i film a clip this can take 10 mins and more, i have to edit, i have to buy a song to use for clips, i have to upload, describe clips and after all to put a preview. No thanks!
Curious - do a lot of y'all use music in your clips? I put a fair amount of thought into the music I play during live cam shows, haven't even considered the issue of music for recorded stuff - I'm familiar w/licensing fees for playing covers of songs live, but not so much for using existing tracks.

As more you update as bigger you will get.
I started c4s cuz i wanted to make money to pay my apt, but i was camming full time. As SophiaS said i regret that i did not started earlier and more focused. Cuz camming is good, but c4 s is better and more rewarding. I used to put some silly clips in bad quality but even with them i made 1300$ when i stared. After i deleted them all. They were way too bad.
I think i used to get over 6000 hints back in 2012.

I never use music...I want them to hear my voice and any other sound I'm making.

sophianz i really thought i would make 300$ and i thought it is ok money, but when i saw a potential, i made 1300$ when i updated everyday. When i did not updated i made 100-and more. But i really had a problematic place, place was noisy and place itself looked bad. As much as i tried to make a candy out off shit it did not happened i did not liked results. So i waited untill i could move out. And as i said 3 times , you have to update evryday unless you got already 500 vids in your store. Myself i ahve not so many vids maybe 250 on all my stores, but i skiped updates this month almost a week, cuz i was sick and i see That sales dropped.
I do use music in my vids, i find that video with music is nicer and less dry. I put music while i edit a clip. I do not play it while recording, i have seen clips with that " kind of music" sounds crappy and bad! But mine on background barely noticable but still makes everything more alive and creates atmosphere.
Myself i dont like loud music and noices in fact. Music does not interupt my own sounds, you can even hear my stomach if it will make noices hehehe.
P.s now i earn more than 1300$.

Can you give us an idea of what visits/sales ratio is normal?
I see certain stores that are in the the top 10 but when i analyze their store content, updates and age of store they don`t seem to be inferior to other studios that are barried at say #2000. This would bring me to believe that they are doing self promotion , self traffic generation outside of c4s and this is in fact what determines the volume of sales for the most part. Could you comment on that if you would please?
SophiaSylvan
03-18-2015, 09:55 AM
It varies widely and I still have a good portion of my clip sales coming from my old, inactive stores, but in general, I'd say $10 per 100 hits is normal, but as I said it varies widely. Also note that you should use Google Analytics because clips4sales stats don't measure unique hits, they measure page views too. I'm going by clips4sale's stats with that statistic but don't quote me on it because it's a vague guess, I haven't been collecting data regularly, and some make much more with less hits, and some will make less. It's also about the quality of your traffic. Google Analytics told me that nearly 50% of my page views are from other women, so I'm guessing it's fellow studio owners. Things like that will skew your traffic ratios. As to who is more popular, sometimes it really is a mystery. Maybe they're updating in over-saturated categories, maybe they are bad actresses, or their look is something that is more of a niche than generally popular, who knows. Sometimes it's about the charisma and confidence one projects in one's clips and you can't tell that really by browsing their clipstore. Maybe they are just a buried jewel. It's easy enough to see if a model does self promotion, Google them and search through a few pages.

I would like to monitor my growth against the other stores.

Are you doing any promotion of the store outside of c4s?

Can you imagine mainstream adult webmasters making a sale like this to one customer? This is why in order to get wealthy or at least make good money you need to be selling goods and service to people who have money and not broke people who are counting pennies. I know that sounds obvious but compare your sale yesterday to a customer who is debating spending $24,99 for 1 month of unlimited downloads on a top porn site. Your customer spent over $200 and in 2 weeks or a month if you have enough content he may do it again. Am i wrong?

Hi Visiono, thanks for the comments.
I haven't been on the site long, so I really have no idea how to compare myself?-advice would be appreciated?
When you say "compare" I dont even know how to go about doing so? (sorry I am a total newbie lol)
OK, so I will share a little more about myself & my business-please dont flame me or think I am sharing to be an asshole, I'm doing it in order to help the conversation, share my knowledge and gain knowledge from you guys, I dont tend to like to discuss private stuff like this but I would like to involve myslef in this thread more as it has helped me SO much.
***
I launched my personal website in March 2014. Before then I was working with a solid regular client base for about 4 years without really bothering to advertise any more than a few directories, I have pretty much locked down New Zealand and have everything I could want here from "real life" sessions.
All of my promotion from outside my clip store store is my new website.
My personal site ranks in the top 200k-220k in Alexa rankings (about 100K lower than this site) which is pretty substantial for a niche market domme in little old New Zealand, I outrank pretty much every other single service provider in the sex industry on the internet at this point.
I am launching ecommerce and a few other platforms off my site this year to increase traffic to the top 100K worldwide (my goal)- I am working through the site currently and giving it a makeover (I do the web design myself so it has to just be whenever I have the time)
I already have a cranking & established Fan base in NZ and Australia along with my real life client base in Nz which provides me a great income in my private Dungeon in auckland NZ.
**
HOWEVER...I have bigger goals than just where I am at, so this is the reason for moving into films.
I am really enjoying the creative opportunities and my client base of real life BDSM'ers have gotten really excited about it also so it has been a super nice feeling. I also want to expand internationally so this has been a great platform to grow my client base for real life sessions as well as international "film" clients.
I had one of my films nominated for "Clip of the year" last month up against KINK dot com, so it was pretty damn exciting to be classed in the same category as such a huge giant in the porn industry. I ts not like I was going to ever actually win it, but it was more than enought just to be nominated.
***
I will give the films a certain period of time before I make a decision on wether I will keep pursuing them or not.
At this point I literally have no clue if I am doing "good" or "bad" as it seems to be very individual and based on many varying factors for each girl.
The customers who are spending the most are also repeat purchasers so I am liking the fact that they are obviously enjoying the content and following up with repurchasing pretty quickly.
Some of the other customers are my established client base in real life as I always tell them to check out my store/films. They have resonded by making purchases.
Then the remaining say 50% ish are random people I dont know, some of these have become repeat purchasers too.
So far I have now had 2 customs =$900 total paid directly into my business account-This is now translating into a real life session next so more income to be made from this too (@$500 p.hr for my sessions) which he will come and do next month.
Then, I think close to $550USD in clip sales so far (this translates to around $700ish with my exchange rate) I have set my payout high though so not picking it up until I have $1000 in payout, It costs $45 bucks to get a wire transfer to NZ to I'm just letting it build for next month lol.
So there it is,
I am going to keep going after 1 month of doing it so far.
It has been quite a lot of fun, and I am sort of proud of how it is going, but it is nowhere near what I want it to become.
I am however focused on driving my sales much higher as the next goal, my real life session income dwarfs the film income so it comes down to a time VS. profit ratio.
I am prepared to give it some time and take the advice of the girls here, I have made 2x 45 minute feature films in my most popular categories which are being released this week so it will be interesting to see how those are recieved.
Hope this was an interesting read, and I would love any advice/critique/feedback
xoxo

OMG! Sophianz! You're website and clipstore are awesome. Amazing work.
I need to make a better effort at responding to this message board. It has been a great help to me in the short time I have been here. My store has been open a week and I have had a couple of sales. This is going to be a long process for me, I fear. I am so new to ALL of this(and being open about my sexuality) that just figuring out my niche is my biggest hurdle.
My Story:
I am a mom, housewife and recently left my corporate job. Exploring my sexuality was only something that was done with my husband. Over the last two or three years I have started to open my mind a little more to the ideas that pop into my head which by society's standards would be deemed taboo. To say that I am struggling with my videos would be an understatement as I am struggling with who I really am as this process moves along as well. I have had self-esteem issues for most of my life and I am slowly figuring out that it is caused by me, not really by anyone else, because of the limits I place on myself. My husband is fully supportive of my venture into making videos, he was the one who suggested it. God love that man!
One of the things that I would like to change about me is how I view sex & sexuality and how my own body image plays into that. Two days ago, I recorded my first body image video. Me fully dressed, talking about my weight (I am a BBW), stripping down to a full body girdle then completely naked. By the time I got to that point, I was crying and a blubbering mess. I didn't even watch the video that night after recording. The next day, after hours of debating, I watched the video. And do you know what I realized? I'm not as bad as I thought. I let people judge me(they probably don't but "I think" they do) and I judge myself probably more harshly. I think being confident in my body is going to help me figure out where I want to go with my clipstore. I guess, in a way, this is a fucked up social experiment in exercising my brain into finally accepting that I am not a perverse individual because of the thoughts in my head and the things that turn me on.
I am not sure what kind of store I want to have, except that I know I want to have one. I like the exhibitionist aspect of this, it fulfills a need. I get to be the goody-two shoes Mom and the Naughty girl, too. Finding my voice, my persona & my look is by far the hardest thing for me right now. I'm like a kid in a candy store with this shit! :)
I do want to make money doing this, but I am not in such a hurry. It is a little discouraging to not have many sales, but I also know that I am not me, yet, either. I think when I figure out what turns me on and in turn also turns on my viewers, I'll start making sales.
sophianz
03-20-2015, 04:17 PM
@drtydiana Thanks so much darling! nice of you to say.
I do agree with the finding your voice /persona etc being a bit of a task...
I have really found it quite difficult to do solo clips also, I am so used to my real life sessions where I bounce off my slave or one of my sub girls that when i am filming alone it feels like im crazy talking to myself! Its weird having no one answering you back! haha.
But I have been practicing my ass off and I feel like practice really does make perfect, there is a marked difference from my engagement with the camera say a few weeks ago to the films I am doing now.
So I will keep pressing forward and hopefully it will get to a point where its naural.

@sophianz I used to upload about 5 videos a week but i've been uploading at minimum 3 videos a day. 2 random niches and 1 main niche. I have never promoted my store once in my life- I have a link on my twitter but I'm hovering just under 300 followers on that and majority of them are camgirls and other c4s studios and I rarely even tweet so i'm sure it's just mainly c4s traffic. I'd love to make more than that but for now I'm just happy with what i have.
Also thank you guys, had my wine and i'm about to wind down... tomorrow I have to edit more videos and then hop right back on cam to make a bit more for the end of the month

I'm excited and I feel like a tool, too!
I'm excited because I received my first email custom request last night! Wooo Hooo!
I'm a tool because I didn't realize that I had several feedback comments on my site from one guy in particular and didn't see it until this morning! His comments have been there over a week!
ACCCK!
Am I missing the big fat button that says YOU HAVE FEEDBACK ??? I must have looked at my admin screen a thousand times in the last two weeks and today I see the tiny text right above the C4S Content Piracy Report. uggh So sad. I feel horrible that I didn't see it. Customer service is important in this business and I've already dropped the ball!

Custom rates too high? Based on what I've been reading on here it seems that most charge $10/m for custom clips. I haven't had many custom requests as of yet, I mean I had a few that were kinda bizarre so I didn't entertain them and one recently where the guys English was so poor I honestly was confused reading what the hell he wanted. Anyways only a few that I would've considered making but when I told them the price was $10/min they all bitched and complained and were no longer interested. What to do? Is that really too high or is it just that I have all the cheapos emailing me? Should I post the rate on my page so if they're cheap they won't even contact me or is that really too much to charge.. I haven't done a singe custom yet due to price issue.
Luna66
03-24-2015, 09:08 AM
I know a lot of girls on this forum charge $10-$15 a minute and I might get flack for this, but I charge $4/min for most customs, $4.50 if it includes a couple of things which are harder for me (and I list all these things in my custom information email so that guys know). I charge double if it's exclusive (not re-posted to my stores).
I actually haven't had a custom from c4s yet because i'm still in the first 14 days where you can't advertise your email address so feel free to disregard my post entirely as it may not be relevant. This is what I charge for customs on ExtraLunchMoney, MyGirlFund, Adultwork, CamModelDirectory and on my Tumblr, Twitter etc.
I get at least 2 custom orders a day, often more. I could charge $10/min and when I see girls on here charging that (and getting it!) I wonder if I should do it too, but whenever i've tried it i've had about 1 order a week. A few orders a day at $4/min is better than 1 order a week at $10/min. If you can charge $10/min and get orders then why not, but if you're not getting any orders at all because of the price, maybe lowering it (if you're comfortable with less) is worth a try?
I personally am very comfortable charging what I charge because customs are probably my favourite type of work. I don't have to come up with the idea myself like I would for clips, I get $4/min PLUS whatever I might get when I repost it to my c4s, ELM, MGF, AW etc and I make a customer happy which may make him order more clips, want to cam with me etc. Because I get quite a lot of orders I can afford to be a little choosy, I don't take anything with a script that i'll have to learn by heart. If the guy wants a 10 minute video with a change in camera angle every minute and 50 individual lines for me to learn, he won't be getting it from me. I take the guys who say "i'd like you to wear this, do some JOI and do this action throughout, and maybe say this if you can remember?". Those type of customs are fun and easy for me.
But honestly, this is just what i'm comfortable doing and it's what works for me. I'd love to charge $10/min and get the same amount of customers I do now but it doesn't work for me. Do whatever you're comfortable with!
justsometwat
03-24-2015, 10:45 AM
I don't have a price per minute. I do have a minimum for videos though. I had a custom request last night for a 15 minute long video and he offered $100 for it. The last request I got was for a 10 minute video and I got $50 and before that it was a 15 minute video and got $75.
All of the videos were easy to do and have sold quite a bit as just regular videos priced around $1/minute.
If people are complaining about pricing you'd have to think it through... do you get enough custom videos at your current price that it's worth keeping that rate or are there more guys complaining about price than there are buying customs?
If you think you'd make more money with lowering your price for a bit then try it. I ask guys what they feel is a reasonable price for the video they are requesting so I know what I am working with. If they send me a reasonable estimate then I tell them that I can do it, if it's too low I tell them I am willing to do it for this price instead. If they don't like it then they can find someone else.
I also accept video idea requests. If the idea is good and not too specific I will use their idea but not charge them custom video prices. These videos tend to sell really well anyway so it's more than made up for.
I'd try to find a happy medium and try that, but don't lowball yourself!
Shygirlgonewild
03-24-2015, 11:18 AM
Yeah I def wouldn't lowball. I used to make customs before joining c4s for around 40-50 bucks depending on content they averaged 5-10 minutes in length and people were more likely to pay those prices so I might try going that route it's just that when you read $10/m you get kinda sorta excited lol.. But not so excited if they don't actually pay it so yes, I'd rather make $50 than nothing. And btw the last custom request I had was a 12 min request and I told the guy $100 so not even 10/m but it was a no go. Kinda understandable tho when they can chose from endless amount of pre-made clips priced at $1/m

When I was on SC I never got less then $10 a minute. On MGF however, I usually take $4. They just wont pay more, but I also tell them if they want the video exclusive then it's $10 a minute! Then I just repost that clip on C4S and make up the difference. After 6 years making clips I am out of ideas! lol It helps me to keep posting every week without having to come up with new stuff.
I take requests also, but I find some guys get super specific and don't understand 'that's a custom'! I also let guys send me stuff for clips. Just got giant beach toys to blow up....inflatables category lol Also got a fur coat to take a bath in. You can bet I'm shooting tons of pics and clips in it first! I always consider it that the prop is free and I'm selling a clip, plus trying out a new category. It usually works out well.

FEEDBACK:
On the Store Add-Ons page, scroll down to about the middle of the page - click to turn Feedback ON.
On your clips page it shows up on the left hand side of the screen and is a fly-out contact box.
If you do get feedback, the only place that I have found to actually read it, is on the main admin page of the store. (keep in mind you can't respond to feedback unless they give you an email in the comment)

Oh....found it! I was looking at my 'busy' store, and apparently I had feedback turned off cause messages for both store were in the original one! *sigh* I fixed it, but damn do I get some bizarre messages! LOL
ok....since you mentioned your store, I had to look! lol I like your header! It looks great! Do you notice that one type of file does better then the other? I just realized my laptop has been making MP4s and my desktop computer is set to WMVs. I'm not sure what to do now! The format that I posted honestly depends on which computer I edited at! LOL Do you think I should make both available? Back in the day we used to make 'dial up' sized clips and post them after the original clip. Some guys still buy these for their phones so I've kept any ones I had up already, I wonder if it's the same with MP4s?
Luna66
03-24-2015, 09:13 PM
I'm not the person you were asking but I post every video in MP4 and WMV so i'll chime in. For me, it's about 70/30 in favour of MP4s so far. I suppose because they are universal, you can play an MP4 on a PC, a mac, a tablet, a phone etc. But around 30% of my sales are WMVs so I keep posting them, wouldn't want to lose out on 30% of customers!
I have been wondering about a smaller size too, for people on phones/tablets or with slow internet. Currently I only post in 1080p so the file sizes aren't small! I think I might give it a go. Trial and error is my philosophy when it comes to c4s!
drtydiana

I honestly don't know which one sells better, I haven't sold that much. I've sold one file several times, all in the same format (WMV). Seems I should stick to the squirting videos that one is doing me well. lol
I, too, have been bouncing back and forth about whether or not to keep posting in both formats, just for the fact that it is time consuming and also it makes me a little crazy having two videos of the same thing one right after the other but in different formats. I don't know. The other thing to keep in mind is what SophiaSylvan & ClassyKaty have stated... by having both formats, you can space out your uploads (keeping you on the freshly updated list longer) and if you choose a different but still appropriate category it spreads your net a little wider to catch more fishies.
Honestly, since posting in this fashion, my store hits have doubled, but I haven't made any new sales, so that leads me to believe my content just sucks. lol
Even though I am in the BBW category, I am still extremely self conscious about my tummy AND IT SHOWS in my videos. This week, I plopped down a little money and bought new bra/panty sets, new thigh high stockings and a full corset. My lighting is still horrible and finding the right lighting and lights in my home has been a pain in the ass. Couple that with having a son in college who pops in at any time, I just can't leave my shit out and set up. So every day, it's put the camera & lights ups, fuck around with the settings, try to remember how I had the lamps placed the day I had awesome light. Hope I have it right. Film. Then tear it all down and put away. It's tedious! I told my husband last night he needed to help me clean all the shit out of my office in the basement and set up my studio there... permanently. The only drawback is that it's COLD COLD COLD all year long. He said "Honey, that's not a drawback. It will keep your nipples hard all the time! Suck it up & take it for the team!" lol fucking men! :)

I've done a few clips and made a few hundred dollars - nothing spectacular but want to get back into this more seriously and regularly to try and make a good monthly income.
Thinking of selling my current sony handycam and old camera and investing in a gopro. Does anyone have one already and use one of those? Any input appreciated!

^Actually, drtydiana I've changed my tactic and deleted all multiple versions of my clips and am leaving simply HD wmv. It's my most popular format by far. I did sell some HD mp4 but not nearly as much. I know some have the opposite experience. I had a few clips in the Top 50 (overall) and in order to maximize individual clip exposure was part of my decision, as well as to make my store appear less spammy. I polled my customers and the response was overwhelming and absolute--customers hate clip repeats. They also dislike multiple stores. But of course it's about what makes the studio money, not just customer satisfaction. I will have to report back when I've moved my clips over from my multiple stores into my sole updated store, and see if my income has taken a hit. So far it's the same (or would be if I hadn't got sick and stopped updating and filming for a couple of weeks).

How do you decide on which category to go for Sophia, when there are so many duplications and other categories that a clip will go into? I started out with having the all the clip versions in the same category but my sales increased when I put them in different categories. I don't think guys look around much and just stick to particular categories.

ok....since you mentioned your store, I had to look! lol I like your header! It looks great!
Thanks... I was wondering... maybe I'm tooo girly girly wifey next door??? meh, I don't know. I'm just gonna keep plugging away at it until I find something that works. I think I've nailed my lighting for the last two days though. BIG + and major improvement!

Yep Yep, let us know how it goes with one format/one store. I'm curious.
Spammy & Clip Repeats are what I'm talking about when I say that my store drives me crazy. I mean I understand offering multiple formats, but with the technology & video viewing software available today, one format should be enough. I mean seriously, if a guy wants to watch it, he will find a way no matter what platform he runs. I know VideoLan VLC player runs on MAC, WINDOWS & LINUX and will read just about any format you can throw at it. It's even available for smartphones. I was thinking about scrapping my duplicates and just adding a little note on my page about the VLC viewer for all operating systems and smartphones.

This is exactly what I'm trying to decide right now - I've been thinking that 2 versions/categories per clip is the best way to go for starting my store; I'm willing to let things look a little cluttered in exchange for increasing my exposure & looking like I have more content off the bat. Interesting tho, will definitely test it later on.

Those are the same reasons I haven't deleted my duplicates. I'm only two weeks into this little venture.

I live with my grandparents and they now have to sleep in the livingroom (my gram can't walk the steps anymore and my pap sleeps with her) so I use their bedroom. My room is a mess and so dark. Their room gets a lot of natural light and a ceiling light so my videos are brighter in there, not as bright as I'd like but best I can do. My pap can walk the steps and will sometimes goes up there and he'll ruin my set up. I put my toys in my room but I use an external webcam and I'll try and leave it where I know there's a good angle for the bed and he'll knock it down. I use one of those walkers with a seat on it with boxes on top and set my cam on there and because he'll use that walker it will ruin it.
I'm also BBW and always just feel blah or stupid with some of the fetishes. Like WTF am I doing and this is stupid it would never sell, I sound stupid, I look stupid, ugh you can see that ingrown hair ext well I stopped doing that and said fuck it. My one guy always requests videos pretty frequently and he said he's noticed I've gotten better. Better angles, dialogue, don't sound as shy and look confident.

You can just clean your room and buy http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NTDOA2E/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3V1FUR56SBG2J&coliid=I1G0VF1J1FY8X9 this light, 1 just to start. You can eat and talk about your body, use your bbw as advantage.
"Natural light" is so vague termin, sun moves so fast, and what if day is cloudy. Even if day is sunny you have that blue color from skyesm and most of the time i see oeople get overlighted with natural light.
You can always write down all your ideas, plan day very well, go to a hotel and record all day, why not?

I only offer WMV. I have a new camera on the way when I get it I will do a test and make two formats, mp4 and wmv and will let you know how it goes. I've only ever offered wmv on C4S and never ran into a problem. As someone else said VLC Player is free and easy to use so if anyone ever had any issues I would tell them to get that, but no one has ever told me that they needed other formats.
Someone mentioned using a GoPro to film. I had a GoPro and used it for a few videos. You have to tweak the settings quite a bit and use really good lighting for it to work well. They are expensive $200-$400 and do not come with the LCD screen on the back that's an additional $100. The sound is muffled when you have it in a case, even when it's not the waterproof one. The fisheye lense makes videos look odd, though you can fix it with their software when you edit. All in all for what you'd spend on a GoPro you may as well get a better camera. GoPros are nice because they come with a lot of covers and the table top stand, but it's not really great for making porn. I used the App on my phone for recording which made it a little easier, but it was a pain in the ass messing with the software because the videos are converted and then imported and the export takes a while.
Here's a gopro hero4 http://www.amazon.com/GoPro-CHDHY-401-HERO4-SILVER/dp/B00NIYJF6U/ref=sr_1_3?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1427326480&sr=1-3&keywords=gopro
Here's a cannon rebel t5 http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Rebel-EF-S-18-55mm-Digital/dp/B00IB1BTWI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1427326710&sr=1-1&keywords=canon+rebel+t5
They are the same price, but the DSLR is way better and the one I linked comes with the accessory bundle for free (it's for a limited time as I understand), plus you can use EOS Utility to tether and record via your computer.
If you're not wanting to look too professional then I'd go with a webcam instead, but the camera is a pretty good deal right now. In camming connection someone said that the logitech 920 is on sale for $60 which is a pretty good deal and a LOT of models use.
