I've hit the top 50 a few times, it only led to hits for me. No extra sales.

Do you notice an upturn in sales when you're in the Top 50?

Contact neil, he can have someone banned

Just checked, it was the same guy from Houston, Texas, yes. If we are all experiencing piracy from the exact same person could we not get c4s to ban him? They ban people who do chargebacks so surely they can do it for this?

Luna66
07-13-2015, 04:43 PM
Emailed c4s support with links to this thread, links to the forums where everyone's smoking fetish videos were being posted and asked if they could ban the customer. Just got this back:

"We have confirmed the customer is posting the clips online for others to download which is a violation of our Terms of Service, the customer has been blocked from ordering."

YAY!!!

But remember, all your videos are still up on those forums so you must do a DMCA. Clips4sale will do the DMCA for you for free, simply go to your c4s admin and on the left hand side the top button is "C4S content piracy report, click here to report your pirated content". Then follow the instructions in there to send them links of your pirated videos and they will take it down for you. Bear in mind it can take a few weeks, even months sometimes.

But the good news is this guy won't be able to do it anymore! (Using his current ip address and credit card at least).

I can guarantee you, if you stick for long enough you'll get other videos pirated also. It's not just smoking. I first had only one of my fetishes pirated, but as the time goes I do find other clips uploaded too. But yeah, some fetishes are worse than others in terms of piracy.

I had already activated my membership site on C4S, if I want to deactivate it do I just remove all of my videos from the MEMBERS SITE MANAGER? That's not going to delete my videos that are just in my C4S studio, right?

Nope. Everything will still be in your regular store.

What I did, as I had hundreds of clips there, was just message studio support. They disabled my membership site immediately. When I wanted to open it again, I messaged again and it was no problem.

The best way to fight piracy is treating your fetish's communities well, so they treat you well in return. I know communities that rip everything off the internet but when one guy posted one of my clips, they were all over him.
The second best way is to produce new clips all the time, that reduces damage a lot. Sure some of your old clips are available somewhere, but not everyone downloading it for free would have bought it and by producing new stuff, you just have too many clips to get hurt easily.
Third way is to scan the big sites and known locations and have them take down content
Fourth way is to try and intimidate customers by putting in all fat red letters in your studio that pirating will be punished to the full extent of the law and that you will post their private information on the local newspaper if they do. This will also keep away all other customers, afraid you could be giving out their information by accident :P

I am all for 1 & 2 and a little bit of 3. But If 3 takes longer than doing lots of 2, go for 2.

Random question, sorry if it's a "dur" one or has been answered.... but do you guys repeat clip 'plot lines' ?

I'm thinking of opening a store but keeping in the non-nude/no sex toys categories, which is obviously limiting, and I'm already thinking ahead to when I run out of ideas I haven't already done. Are repeats cool if they're a couple months apart, wearing a different outfit, etc?

Sinna (2pee4you)
07-14-2015, 03:46 PM
Probably depends on what you are doing, but I know stores that have been repeating the same basic ideas for years and are still doing fine. And I mean repeating on a weekly basis.

When I look at the toplists, lots of stores just repeat things. Like mark getting a blowjob. A different girl / girls, same cock, same theme, same big load, same top 5 store that has even been #1.

My answer would be yes. However, when I repeat themes (due to requests mostly) I noticed that I need to keep some time in between. I made a diaper clip that many people bought. The guy liked it so much that he wanted another. I made him another, pretty much the same style. About 2 people bought it. Same with bedwettings and lots of other clips. You could argue the others just didn't like it, but I think they were just satisfied for the moment.

When I posted similar clips 2 weeks - 1 month later, they would be well received again.

So it really depends I'd say. But several months in between should be more than enough.

I think this was my biggest refund in one day since 2011. It was not a chargeback, c4s was nice to the people and refunded them without dispute. It was also the first time I had 3 refunds / chargebacks the same day.

I had 11 in 2014 and 6 so far in 2015. What I'll never understand is why I had one from a regular customer of mine that has bought clips before and is buying clips every since his chargeback.

Since c4s does accept chargebacks virtually forever and not just the 6 months they have to, I am always a little worried that I'll wake up to something like ruinator had. My "longest" chargeback was over 2 years back and I thought it was too long. I thought I'd never sleep well again. I think there are less chargebacks in some categories than in others, though and hopefully, we'll all survive them :)

What I can't explain is a visitor count of, let's say 100%-120% for 25 days and then 10% for the day of the chargeback (or any day where this has happened in the past). I never could find a solution to that, not even with c4s support ("Just a bad day"). It's like your regular webpage was unlisted on google for a day. Just off the radar. The next day, everything could just be normal, as if nothing happened. Regulars buying, birds chirping, emails coming in etc. It's really like your store did not exist for a day. I once asked a good customer on such a day to buy a $2.99 clip just in case my buy function was not working. It worked :P And people bought after that. One day I had no sales until the evening (at that time I used to have a lot of sales) and then 6 in the same second / minute. I wrote to c4s, this could not be a coincidence. Well, it was.

There are many of these things that can bother you if the money gets into the focus too much. It's totally understandable, but it can be bad for your motivation. I have experienced it myself which is why I warn people to not let the money take the upper hand.

I accept all randomness now and just hope it doesn't happen too often. Since I "let go", I sleep well, I work relaxed and my clips have become as good as they used to be. Customers noticed it big time and many of my old regulars came back.

Edit: Naturally, they should increase as your store grows = your sales grow. More apples means more chance to have a rotten one

It happened to me last year, the day BEFORE christmas. $300+ chargeback. I get one or two of those a year, and I can almost guarantee its from someone who pirates my videos, because they will buy like 150 videos all at once. Then bam.... a week or so later, the chargeback hits. Other than that, I get a few random small ones for $40 here and there..

Anyone else having problems uploading clips today? Been working c4s for a while, so have correct clip sizes, formats etc. But for some reason last hour, nothing is uploading. I am contacting customer support too, so just curious, if anyone else is having this today? Uploads on other sites, and my internet service, are both working fine?

Hi ladies! I have a question for you. I'm on C4S since about a month and a customer asked me if I was willing to do diaper fetish. I want to do that, but I just don't know which type of diaper to buy. I've checked in the category and saw that it was mostly the diapers we put on babies. I'm very tiny, so do I have to take diapers made for toddlers or adult diapers? Adult diapers seem to be more like underwears, so I guess toddlers' diapers would be better, no?
Thank you!

SophiaSylvan
07-19-2015, 08:48 AM
Nastia, they do prefer diapers that look childish, from what I've heard many diaper fetishists don't care for adult diapers. You can get adult-sized diapers for fetishists that look like baby diapers online, I'm looking into that as well. I'd say if you can fit in toddler diapers, go for it, they will be cheaper and save you on shipping!

Hello evebybody! :spin:

I created an account here to say THANKS to everyone! I have been reading this thread as a guest for quite some time, and it helped me a lot to think over my own C4S studio strategies. I started on C4S with my husband half a year ago and we feel like it works really well. We are top 5 in about 10 categories and still try to improve.

As this is our first summer on C4S: Is there a remarkable decline in sales in the summer months? (Sorry for my English, I am German.)

What's wrong with their takedown service? The first time I used it they were very quick, the video was removed within a day. Now a week ago I used it for 2 different clips and neither one was taken down. I took one of them down on my own last week as it was on youtube and it was getting views very quickly. And I just filed a DMCA for the other one on my own. It seems C4S are not doing it.

Yup I've had a couple fans notify me about clips of mine on YouTube. They tended to center around the mouth fetish (yawning, burping) I guess that's how they got away with it. Even I can't maintain a PG rated YT account, yet these thieves do.

I file my own DMCAS. Clips4sale has thousands of studios, and they're sending out notices for all of those studios. You're more likely to do it way quicker than they are. When in doubt, do a DMCA yourself and send the links to c4s also. 2 birds, 1 stone.

That's what I was doing before their takedown service. Sometimes it's just faster using them, that's why I liked it. I don't have to fill all the forms on my own. But it seems it's not working that good.

Click on caption, write the watermark and move it where you want, change the time it displays so that it lasts for the whole movie.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi!

Our studio is officially 2 weeks old today, and we really appreciate the great information in this thread (especially Sinna, your guides are awesome). We've read the entire 122 pages and hopefully avoided some of the typical newbie mistakes. We'd love feedback on our studio if you want to take a look:

http://clips4sale.com/93721

We have a web site coming out in the next couple of weeks to go along with our clips studio -- we'd love to discuss the strategies people have used to make having a web site successful (as well as social media) if they have done that.

Only certain locations/countries are able to view the new layout automatically. They said eventually they will release it to more locations. you can view it yourself by putting in "newsite" in your store URL. Example: newsite.clips4sale.com/yourstudionumber

How do you set up custom clips? I had someone request a diaper video and since those run about 15 dollars I would loose $ if I only sold one. Is the idea that you build up a regular by making one for him and hope you make it up by selling it multiple times ?

Custom clips can't be sold through clips4sale via tributes. You'll need to take payment for them through another processor. If they requested a custom diaper video you shouldn't be charging $15, you should be charging way more in the range of $100+.

I have a starting price of $50, others charge $10 a minute...what you charge depends on what he wants you to do, if you're wearing the diaper and dirtying it, I would up the price. Take payment through another route before you make the clip (but never use paypal), then put the clip on your store where he can buy it at the usual price (the custom fee being for making the clip), or you can use a file sharing site to provide the clip like https://www.projectmaenad.com/

A question about your camera that you use to record clips with....what do you use or would you recommend?

I am currently looking for a camcorder in the range of £200-300 (UK GBP - approx $300-450 USD), I'm thinking I'd like one with a flip-out swivel monitor screen so I can check I'm actually in shot while filming! And a decent quality lens, standard tripod screw-hole, and HD etc.

I usually make clips with my Logitech C270 (soon to be upgraded when I get my new FAST PC!) but this restricts me to recording close to my computer and the quality is relatively poor. Never actually ever bought a video cam before, so I don't know what I am looking for regarding (good) specs etc!

Any product advice would be great, thanks! :)

I bought this cam, very good camera. You can get it on ebay cheaper. You can control it with a phone also you can buy a base for that cam and it will rotate and follow you if you have to walk, also you can rotate that lil screen, so you can see yourself.
You can work with thAt camera on sites but for that you have to buy an avermedia.
Just quick review on cam.
1) colors are good.
2) video is sharp.
That cam has many settings, so you have to get used to that.
I have many panasonic photocameras(4)and 1 camcorder. i love them for videos, they do their job.
I had 7 cameras in past 5 years...

Lacy Luck

When I first started c4s, most of my clips were in m4v format and they sold just fine. I haven't noticed any big uptick in sales since switching to wmv and mp4. There is the occasional customer who only wants wmv or whatever format. That guy is in the minority, so I wouldn't worry too much. However, it does pay to post vids in more than one format, if just for the added front page traffic you get from listing the clip twice.

I always try to provide multiple formats. I started with wmv and a year or so ago I added mp4 as an option. IMO it's definitely worth having multiple formats. I saw a slight increase in sales when I started doing so.

Hi everyone, amazing thread! I read almost the entire thread in 2 days and I learned a lot. Since I have no success with camming in the last few weeks, I want to open a Clips4sale account. I have a few questions for you guys:

Should I open one account or multiple accounts? I'm thinking of having 3 stores... one for feet, one for domination/nudity/"mainstream" fetishes and one for weird fetishes or fetishes that could turn off my other customers (pee, burping, eating, etc.).

I have a Canon T2i that I could use for filming, but the mic is crap. I'm looking for a mic to buy and I would be interessed by the Blue Yeti. I saw this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gYCsEP6vlg) that explains how to plug it on the camera (I don't know if it would work with my t2i thought). Anybody have experience with that mic? What mic would you recommend me to use with my dslr? I would prefer not to spend more than 200$ (I'm canadian so that's 150$ usd) Also, anybody here have experience shooting clips with a DSLR? In your experience does it make good quality films or should I buy a camcorder instead?

Thank you!

I'd suggest one store to start with...you never know what will sell well and what won't. Some categories also sell well at first but the die for us and we have to find new ones to replace the lost sales.
