Hi everyone, amazing thread! I read almost the entire thread in 2 days and I learned a lot. Since I have no success with camming in the last few weeks, I want to open a Clips4sale account. I have a few questions for you guys:

Should I open one account or multiple accounts? I'm thinking of having 3 stores... one for feet, one for domination/nudity/"mainstream" fetishes and one for weird fetishes or fetishes that could turn off my other customers (pee, burping, eating, etc.).

I have a Canon T2i that I could use for filming, but the mic is crap. I'm looking for a mic to buy and I would be interessed by the Blue Yeti. I saw this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gYCsEP6vlg) that explains how to plug it on the camera (I don't know if it would work with my t2i thought). Anybody have experience with that mic? What mic would you recommend me to use with my dslr? I would prefer not to spend more than 200$ (I'm canadian so that's 150$ usd) Also, anybody here have experience shooting clips with a DSLR? In your experience does it make good quality films or should I buy a camcorder instead?

Thank you!

I use a canon T4i and I like it. Focus can be a bitch if you move too much but if you stay in one place it's fine. I shoot in 24fps because I like the cinematic look and it makes my clips look professional. I use the mic on the camera but mine is better than yours as it's in stereo. It's not the greatest audio quality but it does it's job. This is a mic that most people I talk to says is excellent. It's a little over your price range http://www.amazon.com/Rode-VideoMic-Compact-VMP-Microphone/dp/B004K8WPUQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1422666019&sr=1-1&keywords=rode+videomic+pro

beaver i highly suggest you to put everything in one store. If you are not gonna update each store once a day, stores would die same as your camming. If you believe in yourself and your feet that you can make 300 vids per year good luck, and even 300 wierd fetishes well the world is your oyster.
That mic is fine, thought im no longer use it.that mic picks all sounds around. I prefer now audiotechnica, i love their head phones too. Their mic for 160$ Is amazing!

Why dont you just get a wig make a strong makeup, change your voice, put more lights over your face. People would not regonise me with makeup and without. Seriously! You can always put bigass glasses.
I would be more concern of tattoes and some birthmarks, scars.
I dont even understand why people even asking dat question. Maybe you have something unique to offer which does requere showing a face.
Ofc if you will go with same fetishes which already saturated c4s, still maybe you got some new unique way to express it.

There are some producers that wear masks in their videos. 2 pluses with this option, wearing masks is a fetish & less time spent on makeup!

Hello,

I have been on my first vacation in many years. Only a few days, but it was good to get out :) A few things I want to answer, if I may:

"I'm on C4S since about a month and a customer asked me if I was willing to do diaper fetish. I want to do that, but I just don't know which type of diaper to buy"

I would say, don't be shy. Ask him what he prefers! As it comes naturally with my fetish, people ask about diaper clips a lot, but most actually tell me which diapers they want to see ("do you know these xxxx diapers? they are so tough, you should try to destroy them with your pee"). If they don't tell you, I would just ask. If they want a special brand, I would tell them to send me the money so I can order them. I don't charge for requests, but I do let them pay for expensive items that THEY want and I don't normally need.

"As this is our first summer on C4S: Is there a remarkable decline in sales in the summer months? (Sorry for my English, I am German.)"

People will tell you all kinds of assumptions about that. "It's slow in the summer due to vacations" "It's slow in the winter due to saving up for christmas presents" "It's going well in the summer due to the good weather making people happy and happy people buy more easily" "Winter makes them sit at home and buy more" "They get holiday bonus money so they spend more". I have heard a lot of conflicting statements about that in the past years.

Personally I think it depends on your niche. My best months were all in the summer and not in the winter. I get a feeling of naughtyness and the urge to do naughty pee things when it's summer, so I understand that my customers get a bigger craving in the summer as well. Reading on forums seems to confirm that pee fetishists "awaken" when it gets warmer. But that's subjective and an observation in my niche. You could also argue that submissive people like to feel small and punished and buy domination clips in the winter, where they are being "dominated" by the bad weather and feel depressed and small.

To sum it up, I think it depends on your content and updates and not on the month or season. Try to forget about a daily, weekly, monthly or seasonal approach. Look at the sales on average by year and if you can, by even bigger averages. Of course up's and downs on certain weekdays and certain hours of the day should be noticed by you. The patterns can help you update in better spots, maximize the chances of getting good results. But there is no guarantee that your best selling day for the past 3 weeks will be the best selling day next week.

Even I can't maintain a PG rated YT account, yet these thieves do.

To me, this is a total joke as well. I could prevent a ban by getting no more than 2 strikes until now. One time they removed 5 videos (that had been fine before). They gave me 1 strike for 4 of them and 1 strike for the other. Made no sense and also made no sense that my videos were not removed/flagged on the strikes I had months before that. It seems to me that it's completely random how they interpret community guidelines and appealing a strike is no use.

There are full on peeing and wetting videos on youtube, with thousands of hits, that have been up for years. I remember one in a tennis court. The clips that I had up there were harmless in comparison. One desperation video did not include any pee at all.

So I forgot about youtube. The only thing you could do, that I should do more actually, is passively utilizing youtube. For example, I commented on one of these popular peeing vids that youtube somehow tolerates with "I like the wetting, I love that warm feeling myself" - or something like that (I did not look it up now) It's the top rated comment and made people visit my google+ page without me being in danger of getting banned. You can try that. As I said, it's pretty good and I should use it more, but I am somehow stuck between staying anonymous and having my face a click away from youtube.

We have a web site coming out in the next couple of weeks to go along with our clips studio -- we'd love to discuss the strategies people have used to make having a web site successful (as well as social media) if they have done that.
I am actually involved in a project that could make this awesome for everyone. I have to get in touch with the guys now that I am back.

Whatever happened to the studio updates? Is anyone's studio showing the new upgrades yet? I haven't come across any.
Me neither, but I have learned that c4s takes long with stuff like that. The cam function has been *coming soon* for, 5 years I think? When I started, I was so excited that it would be coming soon. Well, I got used to that not being the case :P However, when they do something, it always has a big impact.

I got 4 chargebaka in july, all with female first names, coincidence?
I got 4 chargebacks in july too, and 2 were from a female. This 2 vids were stoled and uploaded. So google title of your video you may find it.

Not a coincidence. A chargeback request with a female name is basically always granted, as it is assumed (let's be honest, they are correct to assume that) that women don't buy porn, men do. It's almost always a stolen credit card when a woman buys your clips. Be careful about that (though you can't really do anything about it). Don't count the female purchase towards your income too soon. That said, about 0.004% of my customers are actually confirmed females from a wetting community :P

Should I open one account or multiple accounts? I'm thinking of having 3 stores... one for feet, one for domination/nudity/"mainstream" fetishes and one for weird fetishes or fetishes that could turn off my other customers (pee, burping, eating, etc.).

If you can make the 30 clips to start the three stores and then update them enough, I would go for it. Forget about nudity (unless you are the most beautiful woman ever).

Some categories also sell well at first but the die for us and we have to find new ones to replace the lost sales.
I would worry about that. A category should not do well and then die, unless people did not like what they bought and the word spread / they decided to not come back for more. What I notice is that categories build up slowly, but sometimes sales stay at a certain level (limited amount of customers in that niche). If you were going great and then it "died" there should be an identifiable reason for that. It could be a competitor with really nice clips entering the category but it could very well be that your customers are not happy with what they get (for their money) from you (= they feel you ask too much for otherwise great content or your content is not good enough to justify spending more money on you)

Has anyone made clips not showing your face on clips4sale? I'm wanting to make videos but would feel more comfortable not showing my whole face at least...
I think I already wrote about that somewhere. I actually did not show my face the first months and it still went well. To date, I wonder what could have been. It can make you very interesting to not show your face, of course it depends on what you do. Doing blowjobs without showing the woman's face would be a letdown I guess.

In my personal experience, I would rather not show than use a mask. I did both, use a mask and not show. Using a mask was annoying for many customers, not showing was more of a tease and intriguing. It's still better to use a wig and make-up though.

As always, this is all my personal, honest opinion and not some ultimate truth. You decide what to do with it.

Just to add. durring the years i tried many ways of working,i wore a glasses and i used to hide my face, i tried to work in wig with tons of makeup.I have to say how people were annoying with those glasses, chapping and chapping...but nobody told me even a word when i simply just hide my face. That project works for me just fine.i wish i started that way years before! Wig and makeup, conturing and lighting also works, but time consuming. But if you can do 10 vids or more per day, why not?

Sinna we pretty much share the same opinion with you about things!

Hi, its been a while ... first of all i have to say thanks again ( and again and again and again .... ) to Sinna ,, because for her advices , and the big contribution she made for those who are begginers ... however , speaking on my self , im having a terrible days on C4S in this my 3rd month in there ,, my 1° month was better than expected, the 2° was incredible awesome ! But the fucked up thing is that i didnt sell shit for the past 10 days !!! This doesnt even happened when i started , i made sells every single day , in my worst time were almost 5 days then sales went all up !
But now its has been 10 days , and i uploaded clips all the time ! Several times at day , and nothing ! Hits are the same than last month , but sales are 0 .

Doesnt wanna sound paranoid or something, but there has been a problem with C4S lately ? A payment issue or something like that ?

Thanks for your pacience reading this

try to explore another categories. I see you use only bbw,big ass, go into eating category. Make girls talk about their weight, or even dance.
You want to make updates in different categories, today bbw, next day eating, day after dance.(just an example), maybe 2 girls can feed each other a cake or pasta or maybe they can munch a whole chicken

Hello. First of all thanks to those who answered to my previous post. I'm still looking for a good affordable microphone and I think I'm gonna get the Zoom H1. It's portable but it could also be plugged to my dslr camera with a cable. It would be easy to put that mic close to the ground or up in the air with a cheap mic stand because it's so tiny and light. Anybody have experience with this mic?

Now what would you recommend to me? Should I concentrate on shooting as much as I can and maybe wait a bit more before to open my store or start as soon as I can and see what's gonna sell or not? Just by reading my question again I kind of know what I should do but I'm curious to know what you think.

I would like to know what is the best free video editing program available in your opinion? I started using Windows Movie Maker but it's pretty limited.

Finally, by browsing on Youtube I found an interesting channel and I wanted to share: https://www.youtube.com/user/thefrugalfilmmaker/videos

I feel the need to mention this as a well intended point,
When you offer advice publicly I think its important to offer it with tact and an upbuilding spirit.
If people are left feeling singled out they will miss your message, which is counterproductive.

The rest of the advice was spot on :)

I *think* its 3% ^. Depending on how much you earn on C4S it's cheaper than an int wire transfer. I would email them just to double check.

Hey I am on the clips4sale dcma page. I know when filing a dcma myself not to put my real details. However with clips4sale dcma do I put real or fake? Do they share the details with the site they are requesting the take down?

I don't want to put fake if clips4sale are going to compare it to what my account says but don't want to put real if they will share it?

I edit my movies and save as mp4s in Windows Live Movie Maker. Can I then put them through handbrake to compress the size but keep the quality the same, and how do I do this? I just downloaded handbrake but can't figure out how I would decrease the file size but keep the quality intact. Thanks in advance for the help.

I started shooting clips and when I watch them I am very annoyed by the background noises. Sometimes you can ear a fan, the computer running or the refrigerator. I also shot outside on my balcony and there a whole lot of different background noises there too.

Should I worry about this or not? Have you noticed this in your videos? Does it bother you and/or have you ever had a client that complained about too much background noise in your videos? I tried to reduce the background noise by using some free programs (by converting the audio from a vid to an mp3 file, then using another program to isolate and remove background noise) but it doesn't work for me (maybe because I don't talk in my vids, so after removing the background noises the remaining sounds sound like crap).

So far I shot videos with audio coming from my webcam, internal mic of my dslr camera and the Zoom H1. I get less background noise with the webcam, but the image quality is inferior. The worse is the Zoom H1. I guess I'll have to use the Zoom H1 only if I'm talking in the video. I'm not ready to invest a lot of money in a professional microphone yet, so I would love to know if you have tricks to avoid too much background noises in your vids. I know I should turn off all electronic devices, but since I use a laptop to look at myself when I'm filming (to be able to focus the image correctly with my dslr), I don't really have that option.

Maybe I'm too obsessed with audio but I want my future clients to enjoy my vids, and crappy audio can be very distracting. What do you think?

MissJu

mic will not help you with a noise, maybe only podcast one but you have to be very close to that mic. Noises def bothers me! I turn off ref, fan, air sistem also sometimes airplanes crossing by, cars, kids are screaming outside and RUINing my work! Next my move will be into forest, but im sure noises even there will reach me!
As long as noises are not louder than your voices thats fine.
If you want an excellent sound you need a good mic not a budget one, tascam ( sound recorder) and preamp. And still you have to turn off everything that causing noises.
That set up will cost you iver 1000$

I use the Adobe Creative suite, so I have access to Adobe Audition - it has a lot of filters to clean up background noise and other audio artifacts that cause distraction. The worst issue I've had so far was a weed wacker next door to our basement studio -- not only was it the annoying 2-stroke noise, but the guy literally turned it on and off every 5 seconds - right during the cum shot! I was so irate. But Audition did a pretty good job of cutting it out (at some expense to the vocal/sound quality of the things I wanted).

I also use a MXL 770 condenser microphone close to the performers fed into a TASCAM DR-60 recorder (separate tracks from the cameras). The sound quality is quite good, as long as I have close placement of the microphone. Might be overkill for a solo performer -- but the general rule of thumb for good sound (IMHO) is: put the mic as close to the source as possible, have a quality directional mic, and do everything you can to find a quiet place so you don't have to mess with it in post production.

Hi, how are you people ?
I got another question ...

It is a negative thing to update every 6 days , of course. But upload 12 times in a day ( 3 clips with their sd.wmv, sd.mp4 and another HD version for each of them ) is a good thing or is satured clips4sale ?? Sorry for my bad english , im from Argentina =)

That's fine...so long as you are posting in the right categories for the clips. You can upload clips in WMV and MP4, and have different sizes for those clips.

12x a day is pretty extreme. I would space those out more. Customers really don't like to see more than 2 file variations, it will clog up your first page of videos and most people don't like to scroll back past the 2nd page to buy a video.

I too have a lot of background noise, but there's nothing I can do about it. Generally you can hear the traffic outside, every 90 or so seconds there's a plane going over, and every few minutes there are police etc sirens. Then there's the helicopters, trains, neighbours, kids screaming, dogs barking. I used to stop and reshoot, but now I just close the window, cross my fingers, and pray.

Same here. I don't care anymore. The only background noises that I try to eliminate are my lights (on used to make a noise, really annoying), my heater and all the machines that normally run in the basement. But it's not always possible. I never had any feedback about any noise. So maybe people don't even notice when they watch us ;)

Customers really don't like to see more than 2 file variations

When you work with display order numbers, you can just display 1 file version in front.

I tried going to the dollar den with this, a search there for payment processors brought me back here. Since I know no one else, I thought I'd post it here then. Moderators could please move it to a better place if this is not the right place:

I just noticed that my paypal account had been removed since April. Wow.

I had it restricted once, but I contacted them and it was a mistake (I had used the same email address on my c4s page). I had never used paypal for anything adult. I had just paid a designer who had made a non-adult logo.

Anyway, this time they seemed to have closed it. They say I can get my money after 180 days. I never trusted paypal after that first restriction, so I never had much on it. I really didn't use it against their ToS, but it's just too insecure. They can ban you anytime. So I was wondering: I have a paxum, payza and bitpay account. Payza allows adult, but refuses my content. Paxum is just a wallet and not a payment processor. Bitpay accepts bitcoins, which many people don't use.

I think Giftrocket or similar is not available here in Europe and I don't go amazon wishlist as they see your city and I live in an awfully small place. Any other options I have? Seen as I would use that for everything that I didn't dare using paypal for, I would need a solution for adult (especially watersports) content..

Just to receive money.

Thanks,

I have contacted all the suggestions and also a guy from epoch (they can't be used for tangible goods and require a $500 annual cc fee). Verotel was no option either (but still could not get my account deleted there). LCMS told me that Visa US doesn't like watersports content, we'll have to see if it's an option.

Thanks for your help. Getting to know LCMS was great, even if nothing comes out of it.

This is worse than I thought. I just tried to renew a subscription for an anti-spam plugin for my website. They use paypal to process payments. I could not pay by paypal, as my account was deleted. I tried to enter my credit card details. The credit card is blocked! I can only assume that paypal blacklisted my card that was registered with my account. The card is new, works fine and there is a positive amount of money on it. This is really mean.

Edit: This could also be the very reason they deleted my account, because I paid for a non-adult plugin for my adult related website.

Edit: Just noticed that I actually tried to pay through stripe. So somehow my card got blacklisted across companies?

I had a paypal account closed down many years ago. They will blacklist your credit card, bank account and address on file. At least they used to. I tried signing up for a new one and no matter what, I got denied. I tried again over a year later with all new info (cc, bank acct, addy) and finally got approved.

How long did it take to get approved?

They use HTML code. I have written about how to add a picture to the store here: http://adult-income.com/clips4sale-guide-for-newcomers/#upload_a_picture

You can use the exact same procedure to add pictures to your clip description. Just instead of the TOP HTML, you add the code to your clip description (add the code in the spot where you want the picture to appear)

Depending on what you want it to look like, you can work with <p> put your picture code here </p>. That will display your picture in it's own paragraph, so no text around it. If you want the text to wrap around it, just post it and write text. If you want to change the alignment, you can use div align (http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_div_align.asp)

I have noticed some stores using animated gif video collages. The single preview gif has 4 videos playing simultaneously. Ive seen IOS Apps like VidStitch on instagram, but anyone know how to make them on a MAC or PC?

I would move the clips from the old store to the new one, so all your clips for that category are together.

Hi to everyone!

Sinna, have you checked on Redpass or Paxum? I have to say I didn't use them, but I wish some of those can be useful for you :D

Kisses.

Paypal is straight up 42345.
They recently changed their ToS after splitting from ebay to allow some adult material, but the fact that they clearly aren't pisses me off beyond belief.

I'll have to wait and see if I get my money back. I disputed the closing of my account. As I was warned, I did not have a lot of money on there.

I actually have paxum, but it's just a wallet, not a payment processor. Customers would need to have a paxum account, load that with money and then send me money. Actually not that difficult, but every step in a payment processing can be too much. That's why amazon got 1-click ;)

Nevertheless I have a payment processor now, because of your help. I hope to start using it tomorrow :)

Have you seen the changes on c4s? I really like it! I just wish they would put the related categories and keywords in alphabetical order. Other than that it's really great!

Looks all the same here. But I heard today that it's not long before the changes will finally be made (like we could preview with newsite.clips4sale.com/47160 (http://newsite.clips4sale.com/47160)).

Maybe you got lucky already :)

I was wondering on how long it should take to receive payment? I reached the minimum for payout last month but have yet to get a check.

SuperPookie,

Clips4sale send out checks every month on the 7th. Usually, I get my check by the 10th or 11th of every month.
