I think the word hypnosis gets filtered out of descriptions and titles, maybe find a different word that sounds sort of like it? Like bewitching, enchanting, and I think brainwash is okay too.

I swear I am having the crappiest time with finding good selling vids on C4S. I used to get 1099's from them for over $6k every year and last year was a whopping 200$....lol. I slacked off last year tho. I just put up a couple of lactation vids and they have sold like twice...wtf! I thought that was suppose to be a big seller. I have about 30 really good quality clips of different fetishes and whatnot and I have sold 60$ this month my cut... pathetic right? Just got my check for last month and it was 140$.... #fail

I finally got my store up and running...took SO LONG because I was having issue upon issue with editing software! Now it is all figured out, and I'm loving it!
I have a question though - Hypnosis - yay or nay?
It doesn't appear to be in the rules for the site as a "don't do this" but it was mentioned earlier in the thread that you cannot, and I had heard that elsewhere as well. I would love to do some hypnosis clips, and I know that there is a real fan base out there for them, but I don't want to get in any trouble.
Is hypnosis allowed? Would it be a good idea to maybe put a disclaimer at the beginning of the video (similar to those often found at the start of some porn where forced sex or unwilling participation is shown) that says something along the lines of "this clip is intended for adult entertainment purposes only, and by watching it you agree that you are a consenting adult who is not being forced to do anything against their will. This is hypnotic language and is not intended to actually hypnotise anyone or go against their will."?
Call it brainwashing and you will be fine. :)

Question for UK girls. Hopefully it is a really stupid question. Excuse me! ;-)
I got my first cheque and obviously it's in dollars. Is this going to be a problem at the bank? I have never tried to cash in a foreign CHEQUE. Do they just convert and deduct fees and pay it in?

I'm reading through this thread right now so forgive me if this is already addressed somewhere in here but I have a feeling y'all were smarter than me so it didn't need to be said. Anyway, I'm trying to sign up for a c4s studio account. I think I did something wrong because it's asking for my EIN# and for copies of my w-9s. I think this is because I signed up as a business---I couldn't figure out the difference and I wasn't sure if the individual account was for members or something. I just put in a random number for the EIN# but I don't know if that's gonna mess something up. No idea what to do about w-9's.
I should just email their support, shouldn't I?
Nevermind. I overreacted for nothing. When I was at the final part, it said, "if any of the above is incorrect, click here to start over." I did that and it let me go back and change it to an individual account. Now it's asking for my ssn# instead. I'm good now.

I never saw any of that when signing up. Must be the business account thing. Is it too late to just leave it and set up an individual?

Seriously, how do you girls come up with 10 clips to get started? I tried to make one, and it ended up being 4 very short clips with little to no sound. LAME! Creating clips seems like a 2nd job in and of itself, unless I am totally missing something here (for which I apologize if this has already been addressed, but 13pgs are too many to read).

I dunno... being an actress and making clips comes naturally to me although I have been at this job for 8 years now. It's easy, just pretend you are in a movie or something and be extra sexy and talk a lot! Guys love it when you talk constantly throughout the clip. I blabber on and on and on saying sexy stuff and it makes the clip hot! Silence is not so hot.
I have done probably 500 clips since I started working online so it does come easy for me, you will get it eventually.

Record clips of all kinds of different things...no matter how silly it may sound. There's even a clip category for queefing! LOL. I have videos of me vacuuming (not yet uploaded), eating a hoagie (a.k.a. "sub"), drinking soda, clipping my toenails (not yet uploaded), bouncing up and down on my fitness ball (not yet uploaded), etc.
There is a long list of clip categories. I couldn't find a 'stretch marks' category (I have stretch marks on my ass), but I'm sure I'll eventually make a video clip and find the appropriate category for it. :P

Ugly's a bit of a harsh word for it though. Most of the people I know that are into that sort of thing get horribly offended when people refer to stretch marks and scars as ugly. Yay having IRL friends in the oddball fetish community. xD

What kind of clips would a guy actually be looking for in the "ugly" category though? That category just strikes me as odd that somebody would have an "ugly" fetish.
Purrfect
02-11-2012, 05:35 PM
Wasn't meaning to offend anyone. I have never looked into the ugly fetish so I have no clue what it is about, but as C4S does not have either scars nor stretch marks category an I've seen the ugly category while scrolling through fetishes, it simply came across as the most suitable category for those sort of videos. :)

As I read this last page I am amazed. Some of you really need to get honest with yourself. If you dont have the creativity, cant figure out to do the basics or don't want to put the work in it takes to make money, then maybe this isn't for you.
It really isn't that hard to figure out the formula for success on C4S. Do some basic research on there & figure out what you like that is a niche on there. Then make videos with your TWIST on that niche. You must update often & do your own marketing.
What works for one model in making money on that site may not work for you. If you have no idea, then get creative. Use you imagination to have fun while making clips. Oh my gosh, I really don't find it that hard to do.
FACT IS no one is successful or makes money by doing NOTHING. You must put some work into every project. Fail to see why anyone would complain about not making money when they don't put the work in. Fail to see how anyone would need help coming up with ideas to do clips, that just means you haven't done your research into the market at all. This is work you have to do for yourself....
I can see posting here for technical help. But most of those questions should be written or by calling c4s itself. They do have support for us there.

(Not trying to start t3h dramorz, your posts just make me sadface sometimes)
I do agree with you though on picking a niche and putting your own twist to it. You won't get anywhere if you sit and pump out a million videos that are carbon copies of everyone else's. :p

"Porn is the business of Fantasy, but it is ALL Business." -me
I come here to read advice & I post to impart what I have learned as a thank you. This site has helped me go to the next level.
Now, when I read people complaining about not making money & also write how they don't want to put the work into to make money. I have very little patience or pity for those people. NO MATTER what the job is.
Life is simple. Want to make money, earn it.
I hustle everyday. I think of new idea, have fun camming, shooting porn & making clips. Then I have fun in marketing & coming up with new ways to sell.
Some don't want answers, they want someone to do all the work for them.... I find that offensive. Do I sugar coat my words, nope. What I post is a watered down version of what I really think to begin with. This is me being nice.
Honestly, I have no problem when others may disagree with me. I love a good debate. I do admit, sugar coating it is not my thing. I am harsh. Many of the lessons I learned, I learned the hard way.
Sadly, over the past 12 years of being in the adult industry, find that many go into it thinking easy money for no effort. This is a common delusion about the biz. Frustrating to me when people ignore business basics, thinking going into the adult biz is a way around it.

Wondering if anyone has an Image Store on C4S and had any luck with it. I am in two minds about uploading all my photos. I would imagine that they would rather buy videos but you never know...
On a side note, I wanted to comment that they payout on the 6th and I live in central Scotland. I got my cheque on the 10th. I was pretty impressed!

I've searched but not really getting much feedback on C4S Members site option
I see the split is 50/50 (not awesome but considering not to bad either)
Does anyone use this option? What are your feelings about it?
I'm pretty excited about this site, sold a clip before i managed to get my site fully activated.

I don't use the membership option (sorry can't be any help) but I will chime in on why I don't.
The standard price for a monthly paysite is $20-$25 a month. So say, if you charge that price you are only seeing a cut of about $10.
Guys get to see *everything* as much as they want for an entire month. (I do not know if they can download the videos as well or not - if they can then HELL NO, I wouldn't encourage anyone to do it, lol)
Guys can pirate it all in one month. (Say you have 100 videos up. Guy records them all. *Poof* he sure got what he wanted)
IMO I think it would be smarter to nix a paysite/membership option and make them pay for a video one at a time. If you give it all away at once what incentive do they have to come back and buy a clip when they've already seen it??
It's like those girls on MyGirlFund, who sell all of their content for $10. Guys have it all and they are done with you. What do you have left? Now you have to make an entire new batch of content to get them back again.
Maybe if you had enough traffic to make the price worth while, but even then the downsides (pirating everything in one swoop! :( ) outweigh it for me.
If they are going to be scum and steal my stuff I'd rather they do it while I chip away at their wallet one clip at a time.
I don't know. But that is my thinking on it.
Maybe someone can come in here and point out the pros to a membership site? I don't see many.

Random little update on the hypnotism thing for anyone else that was wondering - you can find hypnotise in the drop down search menu, so I'm figuring that it is allowed...
But in my research, I found the greatest word for it "HypnObey" and "HypnObedience". Love it!! Using these in titles as in, NOW!!
I also wanted to just throw in a little reminder about copyright infringement...(I was reminded of it while filming with some friends, and thought it might be a good thing to post on here).
If you are filming with a product, you MUST NOT HAVE THE BRAND NAME IN THE CLIP. We filmed a vore clip with twizzlers, and you cannot show the packaging with the name or mention the brand name. You'd mostly be dealing with feeder clips, vore, burping (cans or bottles with labels on them) and bubblegum, but anything with a brand name (check for the little "tm" logo after the name) cannot be shown on film. Other common things would be condom brands, baby oil brands....you get the idea.
Although it is pretty rare to have a big company come after someone for amateur porn, legally, you are in the wrong if you show a brand name - you are then associating that brand with porn (which most companies do not want). Its the same as having music that you do not have a liscense to play on film in the background of your clips. Clips4Sale doesn't care, but if the musician or the company wanted to, they could sue you for using their music or product name. Totally not worth the risk!!! So just a little reminder - use music that is in the public domain (or, like me, you could use music from local bands and get their written permission) and remove labels and packaging (or cover it up).

No worries - it drives me nuts, but of all the things we do, it just takes so little effort, and given that you could end up being sued by the Coca-Cola Co or something, absolutely worth taking the extra five minutes to do!!
Of course, if you have that fancy Adobe editor that is like Photoshop for video, you could always just blur out the logo. (how COOL is that program? I want!!) Or, if it is always in approx the same spot, you could create a layer to go over the top of your video that is clear other than a little black box over the offending label.....

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about brands of lingerie or sex toys - the chances of them being upset because they are related to porn is WAAAAY less. However, if you want to be really careful about it, I wouldn't have anything really obvious on a clip. I just never consider it worth the risk, although this is my personal risk/benefit assesment, and I know that many people don't consider it enough of a risk to be concerned about.

Has anyone else had issues uploading clips? My clips are all in HD and have an upload time of 144 to 155 min and it always randomly freezes on me like at 20 min then when I retry at 1 min then again at 50 min. Its so weird. I called c4s and they told me to call my internet provider and everything checked out with them plus I have the fastest internet they offer. Then the internet company said maybe my modem is timing out so I bought a new one and I still have the same issues. Can't even upload one video =(

Do you compress your clips to reduce size? I always do that while I'm watermarking them, and it cuts my uploading time somewhat. Even without compressing though, I don't think I've ever seen a time that long for HD clips though. What's your upload speed show up as on www.speedtest.net?

I didn't sell anything much when I had 10 clips. I now have over 100, and as long as I keep updating regularly it's more likely for someone stumbling upon my store to buy something, as there's something for everyone. Some of my best sellers have been things I have been requested to do, as they obviously knew the market better than me!

I really don't think this question needs to be asked. Go to Clips4Sale.com and look through the drop-down categories for ideas. I'm sure you can come up with 10 easy ones on your own. Some fetishes are self-explanatory - take the basic idea and give it your own spin. No one should have to be giving out ideas for something so simple.

When I first applied for C4S, I wasted so much time and didn't record 10 vids that they ended up closing the account. Now that I have a C4S store, I feel like kicking myself for all the time I had wasted before. I could've been doing this way sooner!
