Start by doing a search of your cam name/store name. Google hides some adult results, so I search Google and Bing and find different results. Look for hits that show "forum" in the title or URL. Depending on what kind of content you offer most of your pirated content will be on sites that are forums where members share videos.
Once you have sifted through that you can change the search options to just the last week or just the last 24 hours and search that once a week or once a day. This is how I find my pirate stuff and DMCA it before too many people download it.
Tube sites like Pornhub don't usually use your cam name when the person upload it. You might do an obscure search and find it like blonde masturbates on cam, but if you search for your cam name nothing will come up. I do femdom videos so mine appear on very specific sites that I constantly have to monitor. It's very annoying.
I don't know if you've come across this before, but I know sometimes guys will change letters to something else just so the content can't be found while doing Google searches for the name. For example, an S would be $ or E would be 3 or I would be 1. Stuff like that. I've come across that problem before too.

I have a few questions for you guys:
How can you edit a video without losing quality? I love doing extreme close-ups in some clips but I am losing so much quality with the compression. I am currently using Windows Movie Maker but I think it's the time to invest in a better editing software.
Do you mean you want the video quality to stay the same as the original file size (pre-video editing)? Are you shooting in High Definition or Standard? How long are your clips (on average)? If you are shooting in HD, depending on how long the clip is, the file size could end up being HUGE. Perhaps you are just saving it at too low of a setting? Are you using Windows Movie Maker or Windows Live Movie Maker?

They change video titles as well, so it looks like "G0ddess E1la I 0wn you". Usually they slip up or the sites have an actual list of models so the models name will be written out properly but each post will have letters changed.
I hate people.

Ugh, I checked my stores just now and both are like this. Now it just shows the store name. Hmm.

Since the design change (I think Sep 1st) it just shows the store names when you view your store in a certain category. It should still show the full store info though when you don't have a category view enabled, like www.c4s.com/yourstore. I don't know why they changed that :(
Made more than my goal in November (goal was 1500, made 1666). However I'm suffering from exhaustion and I haven't filmed anything in a week. I managed to make some money anyways with my older clips and with some clips I had left. I want to make money but I really have to slow down the pace because I really don't like feeling like this.

Also for the ones that don't have English as their mother tongue: do you find difficult to make videos with a lot of talking? What are your tricks? I watch a lot of videos and take notes to make my scenarios but I'm losing so much time doing this!
I thought about using a telepromter, there is a lot of apps on ipad. They are supposed to be free but when you actually try them you need to get a key or buy the full version. Do you know any good telepromter app that is worth buying?
When you encode, you always lose some quality. When I used movie maker I started to notice bad quality as well. Then I checked the file properties and noticed that the bitrate was always way lower than what I had "told" moviemaker to do. I could counter that a little by setting the quality really high (so that the output would be okay) but eventually I got another program.
And yes, having to talk a lot can be a problem for me as well. I have to start over so many times because of language problems :O Never had the idea of a teleprompter.. I guess it would be too much for me though.
I would recommend still trying to make a clip here and there and update your store, because when you lose that sales momentum completely it's hard to get it back.. try making some compilations from your material if you are too exhausted to make new clips. Update every other day, put one file version up the first day and the other the second.. then a new clip the 3rd day and another file version of that the 4th.. until you feel better I would do anything to keep it continuously updated.. because I have been there a few times and once your store "fell asleep" it's hard to wake up..

As we all know my english is not the best, but i wanted to make nice clips so i bought a telepromter and used my ipad to display there text. Takes like forever to make a video, much easier to learn a text! Well unless you dont mind not to stare in the camera and follow text elsewhere.

I'll email Studio Support - since yesterday I just have my store name and nothing else showing on 2 of my stores, on another store I have the writing but the top header pic disappeared. Looking at the edit clip site page, it says there is no image for the top banner but my wording is there in the top text field (showing in one store but not the other two).

Sorry I can't help here, but what happens if you don't upload within 30 days/calendar month (*looks innocent*), and does whatever happens revert back once you have uploaded?
I think I worked this out - any custom changes (banners, own pics/gifs instead of C4S generated ones to showcase clips etc) disappear if you don't update regularly. Still I'd like to know if this reverses back to your changes when you start uploading again, or do you have to manually change everything?

last month i ended up with $1598. No custom requests either. This was all 100% clip sales. My studio is at www.clips4sale.com/71188. My store isn't anything special but I love it!!! I put a ton of effort into my store last month. December is looking alright, but getting sick earlier this month took a huge toll on my store. :(

Thanks, I will look at the bitrate. And probably look for another software because Movie Maker is really not the best one out there. I really have to kick my butt and go back to filming! The compilation is a great idea, thanks!
I still manage to make about 25-30$ a day and I made 56$ last Thursday, I'm very surprised about this. But I know if I could post one vid a day or just one every other day that number could be way higher!

Yes I mean keeping the same quality as the raw unedited file. I'm shooting in 1080p at 60 fps. My clips can be anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes, usually between 6-10 minutes. Even if I find a way to keep the same quality, the file will be very big. Maybe I could film in 30fps so the file will not be that big? Or maybe I just have to look at the bitrate thing when I edit the video (like Sinna told me)?
I'm using Windows Movie Maker. Time to invest in a better software, but there are so many available out there, I can't take a decision.

Congrats to you too!! Keep up the good work!
I'm glad this forum exists. I rarely have feedback from my customers and I can't really compare my income with others so sometimes it's hard to know if I am on the right track. Now my goal is to make about the same amouth in December, but with less hours of work. I want to make less clips but better quality clips, in the categories where I had good sales.
November was my third full month since I started (I started in mid August), so I'm pretty happy with my progress so far! Made 200 in August, 645 in Sept, 1216 in Oct, 1666 in Nov. That is just c4s alone, I had some custom orders and made some sales on Iwantclips and ManyVids on top of this.
Question for everyone: Have you ever told family or friends about what you do? My inlaws kind of know what I do (they know I make clips but I didn't told them I sometimes do nudity, domme stuff, etc.). I also told an ex collegue, her reaction was... really? What's the name of the website? I want to do this too! She seemed to think it was easy to make money on c4s. I told her it was a lot of work. Then I never heard of her again.
I would like to tell some members of my family because I don't like to lie about my situation. I recently quit my part time work and I have no intention of finding another "regular" job in a short term period. The problem is I'm sure some of them will want to know the name of the website and/or will want to do clips too cause they think it's easy. So I'm not sure if I'll tell people or not. I still have to come up with something to tell them, I hate lying.

That's one of the things I don't like. I can't tell anyone. It's hard to pretend I am a stay at home mom doing "nothing" when in reality I work a LOT and on top it would be nice talking about work. Some family members know that I make soft fetish clips (mostly I don't), but that was just a one time "I have to tell you something" thing. They didn't ask more and we just left it at that.. :(

I hate this too. My family assumes I'm "lazy" but I've got lots of kiddos and I am constantly busy from 6am until 12am. Seriously..no joke. I just had a baby and i got a busy household. I wish I could tell people what I do so that way people can assume I am nowhere near lazy. Running a store and being a cammodel is super hard!:O

Yeah, see that's the thing. The file size will be HUGE. If you are seeing a big loss of quality, that is probably due to the setting you are saving it at.
I use Windows Live Movie Maker and it's not a bad program. Very basic, yes, but it gets the job done just fine for simple editing. There are a lot of other programs out there but there is also going to be a bit of a learning curve with them. Do you know what version of Movie Maker you have? (When you have the program open, look for a About Movie Maker link....or worded similar).

Ugh. HATE this question!! lol "So.....what do you do for a living?" *cringe*
I'm very selective about who I tell, not because I'm ashamed of what I do (hell no! lol being your own boss is the BEST!), but because I know they just wouldn't understand. Or they'd be judgmental or 'assume' things and I just can't be bothered. I tell people I'm self-employed and have an internet business or I have a job online, 'doing computer stuff'. I'm pretty vague. If they press on about it, I just tell them that I do something "different" and don't like going into details. Really, it's none of anyone's damn business.
Be very careful about who you give your website link to, IF you choose to. Because you have no control over who they might decide to tell. It's something you can never take back.

Is this the best SIMPLE video-like gif prog? Any other recommendations for video-like gifs?
Also - what should I be using to make my own gifs (5 static pics rotating) ? I don't like the ones that C4S auto-pull. Thanks!

i import video to layers in photoshop. It's really become second nature once I got it down. Select the animation I want and import. Then i resize too 400x225 and put my logo over it. The built in gifs it generates are kinda unflattering (my experience).

For me, I have found that 5Mb for 1920x1080 is a good compromise of bitrate and quality for action that doesnt move super fast. 14 would make even short videos well over 1GB. I also do an SD version and use 3Mb with good results.

I'm pretty new here. I've been doing c4s for awhile now yet I'm finding that many of my items aren't found and overshadowed by my major category and I think many of the guys in the major category might be really turned off by the other niches I do such as feminization/femdom/etc. I'd like to branch out to other niches, but I'm not sure if it would be better to microniche everything or leave it how it is and just assume as my clips in those area grows that people will find them.
Also, say I do post 3 different niche clips within a few minutes of each other, will C4S post all three on the front page or just the latest one? If they won't post all 3 from the same store then it would totally make sense to niche them.
Thanks

Just the last update for each store is shown. I don't think guys would be turned off by femdom...most guys on C4S prefer femdom style clips. You could set up another store and see how that works for you.

They will post all 3, but only show the latest one at a time. Your store will only be in that list 1 time at all times. So if you wait 20-30 minutes between the postings, you get full exposure on all 3 postings. If you post them all within 1 minute from each other, it's likely that only your latest update will show after the periodic "refresh" of the list. If you are "lucky" it will show two times, as your first update could coincidentally be right before a refresh and your second one after it. But in that case, you store would just jump up the list again and "overwrite" your recent update.
You can read about it in this chapter as well: http://adult-income.com/promotion-and-updating-clipstore-guide-for-beginners/#updating_by_publishing_clips
However, I would not weigh this fact in your decision to niche them or not. In my opinion it makes sense to put different categories in 1 store if you don't have 1-2 major categories that overshadow anything else. If you like to post in several different categories and keep updating them all with new clips, I would say use one store and present your categories in the top html. Every update will give all of your clips exposure then and you keep the momentum up more easily than with several stores (i.e. updating one store daily is better than updating 7 stores, each once a week) - in my opinion.

Sinna,
Here's what I'm wondering. I've been doing some research on the categories. It seems when a clip is posted and shows on the main site and in its main category, it does not show up in its subcategories except only if you search within your own store. The way it is written it sounds like it is posted across all the categories at once. If so, then maybe it is not sorted by date?

The linking should work. However, at the moment, the programmers are trying to fix internal linking and linking in general, as that doesn't work with the new "pop out" system. I have been talking to sara about this and they were working on it. So maybe that is why it's not working.
I just tested my own links on 2much4you, the store I made the tutorial about, and the category sorting is working within that store. I am not sure if I understood you correctly though, so I am not 100% clear on what you mean by "linking between stores within the categories"

That's right. The related categories don't do a lot at the moment. In the future, there will be a system where you post just 1 file and give up 5 categories (like manyvids). Then it should be posted across these 5. I don't know when these changes take place though.
I wonder about "The way it is written it sounds like it is posted across all the categories at once" - > did I write that somewhere? If so, I'd like to know so I can change it to be less prone to misunderstanding.

OK well don't get me wrong, your article is like gold and I really appreciate it. I've been making money on c4s for some time, but I'm just not diligent enough to do it daily (or wasn't) now I'm going to put in some effort to do it more often. People only buy from my main category and never from the other categories I use. I think maybe it's because they just don't get seen because it is flooded with my main category. I do think that some of my femdom stuff will be a turn off for my other femdom stuff so I'm going to micro niche all of it yet link it together. That way when a guy who is turned of by forced-bi yet loves feet doesn't need to go through all of the dick sucking he is turned off by. Oh, and the links are working fine now. I don't know why they didn't that one day.
I'm trying to find the article where you're talking about the categories. It's not worded exactly how I put it, but that is the impression I got from reading it. I do have a habit of glancing because when there is something I already know I tend to glance instead of really read, which is bad on my part. I think it was in the new studios area here which threw me off. I realize now that you're just talking about new studios and not mine that is a few years old. Also, I was hoping that it would post to the main categories and not just within my store. http://adult-income.com/promotion-and-updating-clipstore-guide-for-beginners/
Thanks for your support and inspiration. I get frustrated on days when something doesn't sell, but then look at the total balance and realize it's just one or two days like that. Your site has really helped with this.

How did this store get to #1 on C4S? Every clips is 2 mins and cost $499?
Do you think they bought there way to the top (ex they bought the clips themselves)?

That, or it could be a findom "forcing" some finslave to buy the videos at that price.

Okay, I think I know which section you mean. I was planning since a few weeks now to make the sections more clear for beginners, advanced, expert etc. But I didn't have the time :( My priorities are roughly family > health > store 1 > store 2 / adult income > eating > sleeping > leisure :P
Aria lamar has been on #1 a few months ago and then another time. I think she also was in the top 10 on another occasion. I did not bother, but this time I also asked the guys at c4s about it as I now have adult-income and these things tend to interest people. I only heard that they were investigating it.
It could be anything from blackmail, findom, money laundering, forbidden content etc etc - there are so many options. It's not obvious why they keep selling clips but I trust c4s in handling everything in a way that keeps c4s running.

Actually, ericachronic, I believe that this person could have made these videos for findom slaves looking to have a fast orgasm off blowing almost 500 dollars. However, it is not that unique because she could have tons of findom and BBC slaves looking for big thrill. Her slaves and other fans could make her very popular. Plus they must love her yellow background as well.:O

500$ for blowjob? Hahahah.
It is not exclusive.
Head crushed under wheels of pretty girl - absolutely unique femdom video, that can be cost 500$ for 25 minutes in 1080p resolution. But not extra low res blowjob scene.

Actually, boyru, it is not as funny as one might think because if you are a good femdom....then you can get your subs/slaves to buy your videos even at 1000 dollars. True femdom slaves love being pushed to their limits by their femdoms and will pay handsomely for it. Hell even, some male doms will pay handsomely for subs to be pushed to their limits. I figure that is what is happening with Aria Lamar and her clips4sale studio. If you have slaves or subs that make above 250,000 and up, then they will pay 400 for BBC femdom videos. Also male doms with tons of income can also pay large amounts as well.I mean clips4sale must know something that we do not about Aria Lamar. :) I do not understand it but I respect her hustle as a domme.

If people want her videos they will pay for them. If they want your videos they will pay for them.
As i've mentioned before, there's not much traffic in the car crush category. There's 750 clips in the car crush category and 15,000 in the femdom category.
If you're not happy with the money you're making from the clips you're making, make different clips instead of bitching and moaning about it here.

I agree ^ and putting down what someone else does because you're bot making money is pretty shitty, boyru.

I got a warning this morning for violating c4s rules. I'm almost 100% sure it was because of a bot system. I put in some clip descriptions I was offering un cut versions of clips by email. You can read in c4s rules "You cannot knowingly sell a clip with our services the violates any of our rules and then provide a "full, uncut" version outside of Clips4Sale via email or other means, etc." I was asked to remove the clips that violated the rules on my studio page and on their server in 24 hours or less, otherwise they will cancel my account. I just removed everything.
I read the rules before so I knew what I was doing. I've seen the rules broken so many times that I thought I could get away with it. If I didn't put this particular word that the bot caught in my description I would have probably never got caught.
I know I broke the rules but I'm frustrated because there are so many studios out there who violate the rules and never get caught. It's even worse than offering un cut versions by email, you can see that they broke the rules in the gif preview and that means they are selling a clip that is violating a rule. Right now I feel like writing an anonymous email to the customer service and send them some examples. Should I do it?
