Actually Manyvids has been poaching all the Clips4sale stores, because I got a email the other day from them. I have different emails set up for Clips4sale and Manyvids. So if Manyvids tries to sue Clips4sale, then Clips4sale could go back at them for poaching.

Have any of you seen on twitter what happened with a few girls from ManyVids? One of the top girls there was told there was a store on C4S where someone had taken her exclusive manyvids videos and were selling them on clips4sale. It was a long process to have them removed apparently. MV helped the girls get the content down, but now they are trying to get people to boycott C4S and have MV sue them (which honestly, I doubt will happen or go over well)
Hm, I wonder why it was hard to take a vid down?I assume she got her watermark on it.

I didn't hear about that. But upon checking manyvids, I saw that Missa has just joined. I guess she'll easily pick up the bonus every month from now on. I just always thought she was a featured studio on c4s (one requirement being exclusiveness), but apparently not?

I think it's the clips that need to be exclusive...so she may be filming ones just for Manyvids.

I keep getting emails from Many vids too and they refer to my C4S stores.

Is menstruation/period blood allowed now??

I thought this was a big no-no? I am searching around for fun video ideas and saw a very blatantly obvious video about menstruation masturbation with blood everywhere.

Apparently, C4S made MV DMCA each single video rather than the whole store. She did have her watermark on it and that was part of why she was so mad that it was so complicated for them to take it down quicker. I understand her frustration but I saw the tweets and she was just straight up cussing at C4S's twitter. I doubt they even noticed that it was happening, I mean look at how many stores there are and new ones popping up every day. Since they do not require the 2257 to be uploaded and approved prior to videos going live it's not something they can actively control. They are saying C4S is a hosting company, which I mean I guess it removes any real liability for the content that is going up.

I have a MV studio so I haven't gotten an email from them, but I have been seeing a lot of C4S girls popping up on other sites when they are exclusive. I doubt that they all keep the videos separate, but it makes me curious. What happens if they post their videos on multiple sites when they are exclusive to C4S and they find out? How does C4S handle that?

Menstruation is probably still not allowed but with so many stores and probably no one reporting it's slipped through the cracks I bet.

I found a popular forum yesterday in which I think all of us should be seeing if they're sharing our vids. I don't want to post publicly, might wait to get verified then share. Lots of femdom, humiliation and various fetish's.

I use windows live movie maker. It's the caption option and you put in how long you want it to appear.

I've been doing that with the other formats ( I think you told me how btw so thank you) but when I do the original raw clip in WMV it has me save first and I can't figure out how to go back to that one and mark it

When you say you're saving it in movie maker are you hitting save project or are you selecting save movie after you've edited the video?

You shouldn't have to save anything before adding a caption

If you download Any Video Converter (its free) from here (http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/) you can add watermarks as you convert formats or even keep it the same format. My videos save as MP4 but I convert them again in the same resolution and high quality to compress them a little bit. This makes them about half the size they were before without losing the great quality.

Here is the tutorial for that software on how to add watermarks (http://www.any-video-converter.com/online_help/en/edit_videos.php#q7)

After you add the watermark (pic or text) you can select what format you want it to convert to. (http://www.any-video-converter.com/online_help/en/convert_video_audio.php)

In the BASIC SETTINGS on the right hand side I change it to high quality, but normal is almost as good.

I strongly suggest you play the video back, very rarely I end up with just the first frame and audio.

You don't have to save it before adding the caption. Add the caption, click on the save icon (top left) to save the movie maker project, then click on save movie on the top right and select the size that you want, give it a title and notice where it's being saved to.

I opened my clips store about 5 days ago. Since then my number of views has steadily decreased every day. On the first day I got 225 hits and yesterday I got 80... I have a Twitter and I tweet every time I upload something new and when I opened it to let people know. How can I get more traffic?

Clips4sale doesn't enforce exclusivity, it seems, for featured stores. Like many things. Probably if a store was reported they might do something, but we know c4s doesn't look kindly on tattletales either.

Promote, promote, promote - New clips everyday as many times a day as you can. Get on Live cam, - Tell them about your Clip Store (Some Cams anyway) Think of it like business. You have to Sell Sell Sell.

I am a featured Clips4Sale store. I don't sell my videos elsewhere. I do it out of respect and well, they feature me with a nice ad. It helps keep sales going. Plus, other sites kinda suck for sales. Maybe once every 4 months or so I would sell something.

I have heard that before. Yet, several top earners make "simple" blowjob clips. So for me, it's not about being "fetish enough". I actually started to think in the other direction - maybe I have not yet caught a glimpse of what's possible on c4s because I have been so busy with my fetish - pee. Since I started my second store, where I don't post any pee clips and just do what I like, I realize how many categories there are which are not fetish-y but sell like crazy, compared to pee. e.g. blowjobs in every shape and form (as you can see from the toplists)

Hello everybody,
since a week my first store is online und I am quite happy how it worked out. I red some other threads and also Sinna's Adult Income Blog (very interesting and helpful - big thanks to Sinna).
I thought about promoting my store by really short clip cuts (1 min - 1:30) on some of the bigger tube sites which have my fetish category listed.
But I saw a post (can't remember where)...someone wrote that it is hard to get a tube watcher into a clip store customer.

What is your opinion or better you experience with those kind of promotion to get some outside traffic into the own store?
Thanks

tubesites is not everything, you still have twitter, instagram, tumblr, facebook(which i personally think is not useful at all),youtube.

It's pretty rare to convert a tube site watcher to actually pay for something. it would have to be extra special. Also I don't think many people on a free site will watch a 1 min clip either. As Missju says above, promoting through Social media earns more sales then tube site teasers. I should know, I tried it.

I'm wondering can customers ask CS for different file versions or perhaps even different clips if they make a mistake.

I have now sold 3 copies of an "SD" WMV version and I realize it's crap, there are these pixel artifacts, you know a bit of a halo around objects, a bit like air over asphalt on a very hot summer day. Also this white-balance thing where in some places the video turns greenish or reddish for a second. A hot mess. The SD MP4 is much more satisfactory if they really insist on a smaller file, I probably need to unpublish the .wmv ASAP.

And the reason why they're getting the crap version is because the clip is very long and perhaps 1+ GB of HD quality is too much to handle for them, so they get to pay $20+ for shit quality, man it's just ass-backwards.

Obviously no one said that they care that much but from a "micro business" operation standpoint I can't help but assume an "axiom" that, yes, they do care.

Knowing that CS "is there" to some extent for situations like this would certainly help alleviate my paranoia.

Classy_Katy
03-20-2016, 10:55 PM
I don't think C4S would do that. Are your clips in different categories, I think they don't tend to notice different sizes and formats even when linked, it seems they just buy from one category or the first version they see on your studio.

Kayden
03-20-2016, 11:43 PM
^Yes, typically they couldn't care less about those "SD"/"Dial up" versions they get the HD version but it seems that if the clip enters the very long territory (by clip standards, like approaching half an hour) and they still want to get it some of them actually start to weigh different versions probably because for some of them a 1+ GB file could be too much.

Of course I can't quite relate because I can download a 1 GB file in seconds and uploading a 1 GB file to C4S takes maybe 1 1/2/ minutes (which I take to mean that C4S servers are very capable and a customer with a fast fiber connection would take equally as little to download a 1 GB file) but I guess people's internet connections differ...

I have to admit I sometimes don't even re-watch those SD versions as I see them as pretty useless, just a little "traffic bump" clearly indicating that there is an HD version but it seems that they need to be taken more seriously if the HD version has large file size.

How is everyone's month going so far? It's not terrible but could be better.

It is my first month on C4S and I have made $56.86 which I guess is so so considering I am brand new and have been sick most of the month so only have 29 clips in my store. But yes, need to do MUCH better.

I am a featured studio on c4s. I was exclusive when I applied, and for several months afterwards. However, at this point I get 0-2 hits from that "featured studio" thing per day, so I decided to be non-exclusive, since it isn't really that useful. The first week I was featured I got roughly 20-30 hits per day from it, and then it dropped off after the first 2 months and now (6ish months later?) it's totally negligible. Maybe my photo isn't that interesting, maybe my studio name is boring, who knows. But to be honest, it really wasn't that much excitement.

Inform c4s support about that problem, they can email the customers and offer your SD mp4 for free to replace that broken wmv. Take that wmv down immediately. You probably won't hear from the customers, which is good when you keep that money. But you might not hear from them ever again, which is obviously bad.

I always check all the clips, be it skipping through and watching a few seconds of every minute.

Still, I had this one clip that a regular customer got a refund for. I asked support why a regular would get a refund - I considered that a pretty safe sale. They told me he complained about the clip. I watched the clip - it was broken. It stopped halfway through. Shit! I immediately recompiled and replaced the file, then checked to see if anyone else got it. It was an older clip and across 2 years it had sold about 20 times.

NO one told me about it. My email is right there. The regulars know for sure how to reach me. That was a sad sad moment, I can tell you. I probably lost 19 customers because of it without even knowing, while the "good" file was right there.

I asked support to offer the good file for free to those people, and they did. But I never heard back. I also wrote an email to all about telling me when a file is broken - which is a risky thing you might not want to do, because it could make people aware that your clips could be damaged, making them hesitant to buy.

The regular didn't come back after that either. Which, I must admit, I don't understand - because I had done all I could.

Lesson learned: check your clips

To answer your question: yes, support can offer the other file in exchange and IF they get contacted about a broken clip by a customer, they will try to fix it first before refunding. You should also get an email with a lot of red text informing you that your clip is broken :P

If you run a summary by title, the reported total is your net total. After c4s takes the cut. Compare it with the detailed report. I actually just did (divide the net by the gross total) and found out that I got a share of 60.1% across all the years I have been on c4s. 0.1% extra, yey! :) (Due to rounding of cents on the 4th decimal you can get lucky or unlucky)

I've always wondered how much the people who release something daily who have 20K to 30K clips on their c4s site actually make. I don't think they would be making videos all these years and that many if they weren't making much.

Just a side note: this month has been slow for me. Last month was kind of slow as well. I think it is because I was really busy in November and December and did great Nov., Dec. and January then in January I stopped making a lot of clips for two months (I know, BAD) and then February and March were slower. Not to mention people paying off their Christmas bills in February and then starting to realize they have to pay taxes in April. I doubt if a lot of people are getting back the tax returns they used to. I'm sure paying a lot more. Jan, Feb, March have always been slow for me in sales of any kind then April through November picks back up again.

Oh and of course baseball is back. Anything with a stick and balls seem to catch their attention.
