Someone should make a sticky about all the different independent/skype payment options because threads like this come up so much. I'm surprised we don't already have one.

I use customs4u. They have a way of setting up "offers" and after they're up, all the custie has to do is hit the purchase button on the offer with the amount of time he wants. or you can use ELM and their escrow system (which, may I add, is BOMB). both are easy to use and elm even has an escrow tutorial so you can't get lost.

Thank you SO MUCH ladies, you've helped me a lot :) I will look into these options, but you really did save me (as always) :)
And I must agree that we should make a sticky about this subject, because it's rather hard to find any info here about payment methods while doing Skype shows.
Anyhow - thanks a bunch :)

:) We try not to make too many stickies. Make more than a few of them and people don't even glance at the block of them. Plus, just in general they clutter up the "above the fold" space.
Here's a tutorial I wrote about how to use the search function. It's really easy once you get the hang of it. To find the results you're looking for I'd search "Skype payments" or "skype show" or maybe "skype pay/paid"

I use Square.com/cash, Gift Rocket, Stripe, Dwolla or SendOwl the most, though Amazon gift cards are sometimes an option.

I recently joined skyprivate.com but then realized that having any sort of income on that site requires you to pay taxes. I've noticed that all cam sites require you to pay taxes. Bummer. :-\ I'm over the age of 18 but I still live at home and I don't want my parents knowing about this. My grandpa files my taxes so you can only imagine how embarrassing that would be if he saw taxes I owed from cam sites. :-X I wanted to know if I was able to promote my own skype to people and have people pay me per minute through something that wouldn't be considered having an "income". Maybe something like snapchat since snapcash is one of the features on there that allows you to send/receive money to "family & friends". Although it only accepts USD, I really wanted to try that. I also thought of paypal but research told me I could have my money and account frozen due to paypal not allowing adult content like that. Is it possible I can do my own shows and accept the money through snapchat? Or any other site that wouldn't consider receiving money as an "income" so I don't need to pay taxes? Payoneer and Paxum aren't options because payoneer you need to be out of the US and paxum is $50 to do a wireless bank transfer unless I buy a prepaid card but thats $50 too.:'( If there's anyway I can do this, I would also like to know how and where I can promote myself? To whoever would like to pay for shows via these payment methods. Please help, thanks!!!;D

If you make $500+ then you have to pay taxes. If you don't want to answer to your parents then you'll have to with the IRS. Sex work is real work so paying taxes are required. There's no way around it.

So when I'm making money off snapchat, do the taxes that I owe automatically get sent to my grandpa? He's the one that does my work taxes. Am I somehow able to pay these taxes off myself? Without anyone knowing?

You can pay your taxes yourself and not have him do your taxes anymore. But if he or anyone else is claiming you as a dependent on their taxes that won't work.
Also, snapchat has a no nudity or porn policy so I'm pretty sure they won't allow accepting money for adult related stuff either. Any place that you get paid is going to require your tax info in order to pay you.

You're an adult so you should be getting and doing your own taxes. If you're not working for a camsite and getting a 1099 then you will have to keep your own records and go file yourself. Hire an accountant if you're clueless as to how to do it.

OP-you seem really innocent. I'd say hold onto your innocence and stick with vanilla work.

Even independent cam girls (skype shows) have to pay taxes. Any money you earn is INCOME. You should be paying taxes from income you made on snapchat. If not, get ready for a sweet audit from the IRS, little girl!
What you have to do is go into your bank account and save any deposits made for snapchat, and log it in a spreadsheet. Then when you do your taxes, you'll have to put it in there as additional income. It doesn't auto come out, because life isn't easy like that.
God, they don't teach kids how to do taxes anymore in school? Right now I'm so thankful for my shit bible thumping school for teaching me some actual life skills.

So I know you have to pay taxes with any sort of income, as from the responses of my previous thread. I believe this is worth it and I'm willing to do that since my grandpa does my taxes. But what I wanted to know was if I make money on skyprivate.com, will it say on my taxes that I received money on a cam site? I don't want my grandpa knowing I do that, that's so embarrassing..Also, what is the limit of money I have to make on that particular site to file taxes? I'm in NY if that makes any difference.

If you don't want your grandfather knowing while you are a dependent living under his roof, don't do it.
Girl, go work at Arby's first.

I'm doing my own skype shows, and having people send me money directly. Where can I promote my skype and my payment methods/prices so I'll have more people coming? (I've tried Twitter, and I don't have facebook.)

Welcome to the forum. You can also use Google search through this forum. Just put "stripperweb + topic" and it will bring up threads. It only takes a day for a new topic to show up in the search engines.

I do a lot of independent skype shows, I promote on Twitter and on my snapchat. If you do snapchat takeovers like I do then you can direct them to your snapchat and twitter and get lots of followers. If you follow enough accounts on Twitter you get takeover requests ALL the time but I am selective about the ones I do, they have to have lots of followers and let me promote on their account.

Skyprivate has a company name. They don't issue 1099s but you still need to claim the income, as Payoneer will report it to the IRS anyways.
Find the proper company name for SkyPrivate, list it on your taxes as "Other income:" Source will be the company name. Then the total amount they paid you for the year. Tell gramps that its for "internet marketing and sales." You did some writing for clickbait articles or something.
Do not list the company name here.

As an American, you do have to report every last dime (even Amazon gift cards count) on your Schedule C.
Note that "gifts" from customers are not "gifts" under IRS rules...its simple income related to your business, including fair market value for non-dollar gifts.
You do have some wiggle room as far as exactly HOW you report it though. It won't make a difference to how much you owe though. If you are issued a 1099, you must use that in the appropriate part of your schedule C. If any income is NOT from a 1099 source, you can put anything you want in the line item so long as its "close enough" and the exact $ amount is perfectly correct.
Registering as a business may have some tax advantages, or it may just be an extra set of paperwork for no reason...consult your accountant :)
