I also cannot stand the thought of being scheduled. My current local club fav has tried it but I want no part of it.

Well, I don't really go for that sort of thing either. I'm in pretty close contact with the four or five girls that I visit regularly. What I do is plan my visits on slow days. The closest thing to being scheduled is when a fav calls and says "Hey, Wednesday's really suck, that would be a good day to come in, we can hang out". My work schedule being a bit erratic, I can't always do that but when I can it's a great and very relaxing afternoon. If I can't visit my Wednesday girl I can check in with my Monday/Tuesday girl or my Saturday night girl. I have options but I'm also not beyond just hitting Providence and going to a few clubs if I happen to need a night out and no one I know is working. Admittedly, being single and having a flexible work schedules serves me well!

So I take it the dancers who spend time with you are ones you prefer rather than the "wanna dance" girls? I think the wanna dance strategy works for clubs where there aren't many regulars but not for the regular clubs. I've generally worked clubs where the wanna dance didn't work except for guys who were traveling and those who didn't spend that much (or spent a lot but never came back).

Yup. The last time a "wanna dance" approach induced me to buy anything, I was in my 20s. I am 41 now.

I agree 100% with everything you said about the different approaches for different types of clubs. For those reasons, I tend to avoid the large, glitzy downtown joints when I travel. From time to time I might duck into one of the tourist trap clubs for the novelty factor, but the bulk of my spending is done in mid-tier locals clubs.

As a general rule of thumb, if the cab drivers and hotel concierges are handing out free entrance coupons to a particular club, then it is probably a place that I want to avoid.

I agree. I generally avoided those clubs myself because I found I made more money at the regular type of clubs. At these clubs you need to know how to have conversations to make money. I preferred mid level clubs and made more money there than anywhere else. I had several regulars that paid me strictly for conversation.

MYTH: After 3 private dances in a row, fatigue starts to set in.*

Just to clarify...when a dancer sells 3+ to one person.

*I personally don't buy more than 3 for this reason. I've bought 3 dances, multiple times from the same dancer, in the same night, just to give her a break so it doesn't seem like a Marathon & has time to cool off.

^ Listen to your own advice, McFly. It's a myth.

Where I go, three is like an appetizer.

(Unless you're just test-driving in which case, why would you need more than one or two?)

I don't know I've done many in a row. 3 is a small amount to me.

3 in a row is nothing. If "just to give her a break " means less money, then don't you worry. Most strippers are in far better shape than can imagine. :)

I've danced almost non-stop, straight, between stage and privates, for 12 hours at a time. Its not too hard.

And the best part, after that kind of workout, one can eat anything they want, lol! Its like the Olympic swimmer, what's his name, who takes in 12,000 calories a day!!

My gf is a stripper so i like to add some also:)

Myth: All striper have boyfriends/husbands/ who work in the industry or dead en jobs with no education:

Fact: Very wrong, being a boyfriend to striper, I can confirm that is not true, I work in Sales and deal with IT, I have always decent job and come from a good family, so we are like someone else said her all different and come from different parts of life.

Myth: all stripers are open minded and have dotn have much bounderies and will take money for sex.

Fact: Wrong… Most stripers are not anymore open minded then any other girl, you might actually find a Good Catholic girl who is wilder and more open minded then a stripper. The only striper will take money for sex is if she works at club where they sell sex also which I will only find in some clubs in Europe

Agreed with both. While dancing most of my boyfriends had good jobs and didn't work in the industry. I dated two guys who worked in the industry (one bouncer, one DJ)but many other guys who never worked in the industry. In the second case that also sounds like many dancers I worked with, including me. I was never having a lot of sex while dancing. In fact I went through my wild stage long before I entered the industry.

OK, this gave me a headache to read. You're saying it's a myth but that you stop after three dances?

FWIW, I've never had a dancer ask me to stop after three dances. The fact is I usually do ten or more with my favs and they only get better as we go...

1. Myth #1: Dancer ALWAYS make money no matter what and if a dancer doesn't it's her fault.

Fact: WRONG. First off most dancers aren't paid and in fact most pay to work there. Even if it's crowded doesn't mean anything. I have worked at clubs where it was packed and walked out with little. Other dancers walked out owing the club. Yes, most of the time I made money but there's only so much to go around.

I would word it more like this ^_^ ...

Fact: WRONG. First off I have never heard of dancers being paid to work at a club ever. I suppose it is possible... but what I am familiar with is the fact that Dancers have to pay to be in the club and not only that but they also have to pay a percentage of the money they make to the Manager, DJ, Bouncers... etc.

How would you feel if you paid to be somewhere just to have pathetic douche bags try to get you drunk all night so they could screw you outside the club because they don't know the difference between a whore and a dancer? And to the girls who get drunk and leave the club with guys, you are really the ones who stuck your stiletto heel into the side of the stripping industry so we can all sit around and watch it die a slow agonizing death. That, Internet Porn and an economy that has only gotten worse for decades.

Actually I have worked clubs where they paid me which is why I worded it like that. Some paid all the dancers, some paid certain ones to work there. I am seeing more clubs requiring the dancers to tip the managers and that I find wrong. I get tipping those who provide a service to the dancers and make tips themselves, like bartenders, DJ's etc. Most managers I've known either owned the club or made a salary they don't deserve a tip unless they helped a girl ake money.

There was a time, perhaps before you got into the industry, where paying dancers a shift fee was very common.

When I started there were still a few clubs that did pay a shift fee. I was what I call a "cusp" dancer because I started right after the brothel clubs were dying and the upscale gentlemens clubs were becoming common.

Myth: Dancers have no problem tipping all the other employees because they are all making less and doing more work.

Fact: Dancers hate tipping people that aren't helping them make money and resent employees that expect tips though they aren't deserving of them. I had no problem tipping waitresses that got me customers, DJs that played my music and bouncers that walked me to the door. In fact I tipped anyone generous who helped me. However I resented paying the bouncers who didn't do a damn thing, DJs who didn't play what I wanted, and other staff members who had their hand out but didn't help me earn it.

Side note but I briefly did lingerie modeling for this company that I later found out was a front for prostitution. They would send me to bars to model the lingerie and sell tickets for items. I was expected to pay the company AND the bar. I was making so little after paying both that I quit less than a week later. I had done lingerie modeling earlier for myself and another company so I knew this wasn't right.

MYTH: A dancer ( clean or not) wont offer to anyone who they suspect to be a UC LEO?

Kellydancer
12-07-2011, 12:29 PM
What is a UC LEO? A clean dancer will dance for anyone and if he wants more she'll often stop the dance.

3 in a row is only 30 minutes here. Some of my old regular guys book vip for 2-3 hours, and I didnt end up passing out from the exercise (I was skinny though!)
