Nice thread...My question is How will you De-Stripperfy yourself when you are done?
The hair color and tan will grow out and fade away. The giant boobs can be deflated a little, but what do you do about the Piercing scars and the full sleeve, full back and leg or god forbid face and neck tattoos?

I had my rhinoplasty almost 2 months ago, and it's very natural looking. When I went to see my family for Christmas, they said they couldn't tell, but that my nose didn't appear big anymore. I'm going to love it when all the swelling and tenderness goes away, still have a lot in the tip..

I was lucky enough to catch Buffy's pic in PP, so I can attest to the fact that it is completely natural looking. I think you look fantastic! I would never have guessed.

I've always been scared of cosmetic surgery both b/c of the actual risks of the surgery itself, and fear of unnatural-looking results. You know, when you see someone who has been "overdone" and it just looks absurd. From this thread, it seems that these types of procedures are way more common that I had guessed. I suppose that the bad examples of surgery are the ones that stick out, while all the best examples go unnoticed (as surgical procedures, I mean, not unnoticed in general).

I'm going to love it when all the swelling and tenderness goes away, still have a lot in the tip. Got it done in Austin, TX. I wouldn't recommend traveling to anywhere that you wouldn't want to drive to back and fourth for the next 6 months. I will be having my 4th post op consults in a few days just in 2 months. I used to live in So Cal, and they are known for having plenty of great plastic surgeons. I used the sites Realself.com and makemeheal.com to pick out my Dr.

Just remember that you'll have to take off a significant amount of time till you can go back to dancing. I'm just now feeling comfortable to go back, afraid of the high risk of my nose getting bumped during a lap dance or something.

congratulations on a successful surgery and i agree makemeheal and realself are resources i use as well (:

Fake nails
Hair grown to lower back
Rhinoplasty
Lots of waxing and shaving because I'm hairy as hell LOL
Keratin treatments and highlights
Facials, peels, microderm abrasion
And I've definitely gotten waaay better with makeup and clothing techniques..I used to be such a dork xD

Not to threadjack, but I'm looking into facial (chemical peels) as well as microdermabrasion. I've settled on the latter because the idea of my skin peeling off for days on end doesn't really sit too well with me. I'm open to both, so is there one you'd recommend more so because the results were better? Or is it all the same shit essentially?

They do at Zach's on the Cape. One dancer there is a tall dark haired beauty, that has tattooed herself over the last 3 years. First her arms, and neck and now her face. But I guess it wasn't for the club right, it was an expression of her feelings?

Honestly, I liked the chemical peels better, they made a more drastic difference for me. I felt the results were worth the downtime. Imo the microderm made a difference just on the surface but the deeper chem peels really improved my skin tone and evened it out, both really zapped a lot of my whiteheads and made a huge difference on dark spots.

I wore 6" platform stilettos, lol!

I've always been natural, so I didn't change much. I still don't know how to fix my hair.

I did start getting massages and facials, but mainly because I could actually afford them.

frequent spa pedicures :D

i was already severely vain and beauty obsessed, i think i just got better at it [makeup, waxing, hair etc] over the years through constantly looking done up for work

^^ so pretty! u have a "look"! lol

-I only wear VS miraculous bras at work, takes my B to a D :)
-Hair extensions to my ass.
-massive amounts of lashes and makeup, acrylics, proactive.
saving up for laser hair removal.

How are you able to get away with the Miraculous bra? I've always wanted to but always feel like the customers aren't too happy when they realize how padded the bra is.

I've always been "stripperfied." I'm the type who will wear full foundation, smokey eyes, false eyelashes, and a mini skirt when I'm just going to the mall, lol. I'm saving up for a BA and rhinoplasty, but I've wanted cosmetic surgery done since elementary school. If blonde = $$, then I'm screwed, because I love my black hair. I went through a blonde phase in high school and it's completely out of my system by now.

Actually not much. I'd been getting my nails done since I was 14, the boob job came before I started dancing. I already dyed my hair and got facials and massages and waxes.... I don't tan... so I guess I was pretty vain well before I became a dancer....

I got a nose job about 6 months ago and if I didn't tell anyone I had it done no one would have guessed. I had a small hump removed and my nose made a bit thinner. I went to dr. Sam rizk he's in manhattan but just to warn you he's very expensive.

- i just got a nose job a month ago and i'm thrilled with the results (hated my old nose)
- brazilian bikini laser hair removal (cuz i get terrible razor burn on my you-know-what)
- laser treatments on my face to get rid of years of acne scars. they were so intense that my face was literally dripping in blood afterwards and i didn't leave the house for the weekend.
- i get gel nails every 2-3 weeks
- i get my eyebrows threaded
- I wear extra makeup to work
- I used to tan but it's too much of a pain in the ass and it's too expensive
- i've gotten pretty good on the pole which has made me much more toned

I don't know how to answer this. Way before I got the fake boobs and became a stripper(I started stripping after I got the fake boobs), a lot of ppl assumed I was a stripper. I was & will always be high maintnance, stripper or not.

ETA- Now that I am a stripper, I don't feel like I look like one. I'm always looking like a tired zombie in sweats. sexy, right? Ugh. Lol

Not sure I can ask this in this thread, but what is a good (affordable) brand of clip-in hair extensions? I would love maybe the 22-25" straight style. =) But I have no clue about them or even how to really use them! lol

- Blonde hair extensions
- Fake tan
- Always having nails well polished
- Better makeup skills - wearing more makeup too (I used to be a foundation, mascara, gloss kind of girl)
- Better walking in heels
- More flexible

i'm also looking for something like this. i've heard headkandy is the best (good variety of colors, extremely thick and long) but the 24-26" ones are also $200. lol. maybe after this weekend i will feel rich enough to buy them :)

Fake lashes.
Tons of skin care, first chemical peel coming up in two weeks.
Constant calorie counting.
Tons of makeup.
About to get invisalign, whitening, and some shaping and bonding.
Rhinoplasty in the next 24 months (after my teeth are done).
I'm super pale, but I'm told all the time that men love it, so no tanning or spray tanning.
My boobs are naturally pretty good size (32ddd), so no BA for me until they begin to sag.
Yoga and stretching daily.
Mani/Pedis done every few days by moi, can't seem to not chip my damn toenails at work.
My hair was bleach blonde, but I'm currently letting my roots grow and am planning on doing an ombre for a smooth transition back to natural (dark blonde).
I tried wigs and extensions, but I sweat like a crazy person so short hair works best for me.

My first year of dancing I was stupid and got permanent makeup tattoos (lip liner and eyebrows) but I didn't even go to a shop, I let some ratchet lady I danced with do it in the dressing room of the ratchet club where I worked lol. And I had a different "dramatic" hair color (dark brown with pink, light brown with blonde and red, etc.) every couple of months, also not done professionally. Luckily the permanent makeup is almost completely faded after 2 years (I believe it was supposed to last 5) and after cutting my hair super-short, it is growing back...

Hey, how much did your veneers cost you, Twinkle_Toes? How many did you get?

Things I have done to stripperfy:

Going blonder
Maintaining tan
Acrylic nails
Rhinoplasty
Chin Implant

Rarely hear about chin implants. I got one done when I got my boobs. BEST decision yet. No one notices what it is but people say I look like I lost weight, no double chins here :)

I've been dancing a little over a year and all I've done is get better hair cuts, paint my nails more regularly, and I've learned a lot of makeup.

I feel like I've always taken good care of my body, that has nothing to do with dancing.

....now I wanna do something to stripperfy myself.:P

Yep, same here! I finally made a hair appt. can't get in til Mon. though:(

Lots of wigs
Learned how to put on make up and style my hair
Skin Care routine
Manicures every other week
Pedicures once a season (I can handle my toes)
Hair appts
Take lots of extra vitamins (B & Calcium in my case), the 1 multi vitamin a day is nowhere near enough for someone like me
Pay attention to tax laws (Dancing put me into a higher tax bracket)
Getting new boobs when I'm done with maternity leave
Piggy bank full of ones AND change for my daughter

NEVER would have done any of it without dancing. I am as low maintenence as a girl comes!

platnium blond
extensions
became makeup expert (well, almost ;)
gained 30 pounds and toned
3 tattoos
nostril piercing
long gel acrylic nails

I'm having an inner war as to wether or not i want to give in and get breast implants, so many of my clients love my small perky boobs but i feel insecure and downright embarrassed on stage..havent decided yet :)

I normally:
Bleach my teeth
Dye my hair platinum blonde
Have my nails always done
Occasional tanning (although I like to give it a break in the winter because it's so unhealthy to maintain year round)

I did all these things before dancing. The only new thing I tried was extensions but I though they looked fake and didn't get them again

I have been on break and may not go back but when i did dance I,
tanned 3 times a week,
always had french manicures and pedicures(love the cotton candy with this look)
went from brunette to blond
eye make
bottled tan at times
exercized more frequently

I do not really do much of this now.
