Monty Python - Hell yes. I decided to watch it after people were quoting it in a thread. It's my type of humor.

I completely agree, I saw it in theaters and had the expectation of it being mildly enjoyable and was blown away by how much I liked it. My husband had never seen the original, nor had he ever heard any of the catchphrases, so a lot of the references were totally lost on him. Like, "Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape." He had NEVER heard that line before in his life, which left me stunned. I mean, EVERYONE knows that line. But his family is fucked up so I don't know why I expected anything else.

I saw both "The Vow" and "This Means War" last week and both were better than I expected. I wouldn't advise rushing out to see either of them but they were both above average entertainment.

Oh man, the nods to the old movies were the best part!

The bodyguard. My gosh it was terrible. As soon as the guard slept with Whitney, it was all over for me. I mean, stick to your role of being a cold, professional, keep-to-himself-emotions guard dammit!
So I stopped the movie half way, and went to watch Bodyguard from Beijing. It was kinda the copy of The Bodyguard, but that movie sure hell did a better job!

Red Riding Hood. For a horror/thriller based on a gruesome fairy tale, it was unbelievably tame, but they managed an interesting reinterpretation. I'm not sure if I'd suggest it unless you love the genre.

I happened to catch 'In Time' a.k.a. 'Im.Mortal' ! Suprisingly great, both story line ( loosely based on a Harlan Ellison SF story ) and acting.

Got taken to see Hunger Games on Friday. I'd never read the books--in fact, I'd never even heard of them until like last week. The movie was good, but I wouldn't go see it again.

I just got back from seeing Jeff, Who Lives At Home. I liked it A LOT!! It's almost like it was tailor-made for me - quirky, reflective, realistic, both funny and sad but ultimately hopeful.

I went to the Hunger Games today and I really liked it.
I was dragged into it with low expectations, having not read the book(s) and thinking it would be a more violent Twilight. It was surprisingly good!
Also watched Young Adult this weekend and thought it was hilarious, although the ending was meh.
People told me if i liked the Hangover i would like the Hangover 2. What they should have said was that it is the same exact movie. It did have some laughs though.

Genoveve: Yes, I had exactly the same reaction! That happen to me quite often when I watch so-called classic movies. Easy Rider is another example. That might be a good idea for a new thread: "Classic" Movies That Sucked! Lol

I'm really wanting to see "The Cabin in the Woods", because I'm both a horror nerd and a Joss Whedon nerd. Has anyone seen it? Without any spoilers, what did you think?

^^^^ I saw "Cabin in the Woods" last week. It was OK. Interesting plot compared to other horror movies. I also saw and like "Raid:Redemption" a lot better, even though it had English subtitles.

The movie An American Crime was also based off the same story, correct?? So sad! I have not watched either, but so sad! I don't think I could emotionally handle watching either of the films. I'm just a tad too soft hearted for it. I know -I'm a cry baby!

They're both based on the same true story. I cried myself to sleep after watching Girl Next Door.
