I have my own cam room. I really hated breaking down everything and putting it back up ect so this really helps eliminate the time it takes to do that. It is not sound proof by any means though. I put a loud fan on I front of the door to muffle the sound.

Thanks!!! xoxo

So it's settled, I'm turning it into my cam room. I'm not gonna lie, it feels wrong sleeping with my babies in the place for badness. And since I'm single I don't have many boundaries with my kids when it comes to my room.

Im a single mom too...Im just super strict, more than most when it comes to having and allowing personal space.
Im totally aware of it that Im not the norm though :D

When you redecorate and set up your new work space..take before and afters!!!

definitely!!
Right now I'm shopping for a twin mattress because the one I've been using out there for guests is an air mattress on a box spring. That wont last long lol.
The walls are blue with white trim, I already have a Super Mario Bros poster I think I am going to do the room all nerdy star wars video game shit. Ugh as much as I loathe all that the dumb boys love it.

Hehe! Im really curious to see what you do with it!
Awe...you have be so jelly, I need a room to work out of.

Whether for cam or anything, just having that space to *work* in would be awesome.

I would totally love a seperate camming room! That way, everything I need is in one spot instead of running around the apt while I'm on cam looking for shit. I hate camming in my bedroom and living room because it ends up getting messy with lube and snacks.

Im getting pretty excited. I hung curtains all around the bed covering the door leading outside and the window air. There's a dresser in there for all my outfits and shoes and toys and a table I can pull up level to the bed to put my laptop on so it wont bounce when on the bed. I have to figure out lighting now, I think I may buy a standing work light. It occurred to me how much stuff I'll be able to remove from my bedroom and that's pretty awesome!

ok deco question. background- dark maroon and purple solid, alternating panels or better off with just white sheets?

good luck out there!! I have 2 rooms, one I share with my roomie and one that is all my own. I don't sleep in my own, never really have except for naps. As soon as I started camming it became my studio, it's just a remodeled garage so I have issues with the non carpeted floor sometimes, and other times it's a JOY to have cement (i.e bj shows, oil shows, uhhh everything messy! cons: dirty ass feet unless wearing shoes. doesn't matter if I just cleaned). Unfortuantly I still find it hard to detour friends&guests from my room- why the fuck do people think it's cool to poke their heads in your room? So I still end up putting away dildos and lube. But I leave up my bdsm gear and lights since I'm known to be kinky.

I'm horrible with decorating so I'm not even going to try and be helpful there LOL

I did want to say, Sharpie, my parents were the SAME WAY. I wasn't allowed in their room (and as an adult living at home - I'm a winner! - their personal space is still off limits), the door was always shut. I swear I have no clue what my parent's rooms looked like when I was growing up and only know what theirs looks like now because (before I got pregnant and moved in) they invited me into their room to smoke one time when it was raining outside LOL

Once I move out on my own I plan to get a 2br and will probably end up keeping my baby in my bedroom with me until 18mo-2years. I'll have a separate cam room that will look much like a spare bedroom for guests. I have a very involved family and have been able to keep my camming a secret for 3 years now and even living at home have kept it secret. I will still have to "dismantle" the room after camming so that if someone drops by I don't have to be like "DON'T GO IN THERE!" but having a space my child doesn't have any reason to enter to cam in sounds great to me.

If you go with white make sure that it is white and not an off white or light yellow.... or make sure that it has color...Most of the time what a room looks like on cam is not the same as what the room looks like in person.

My walls in the living room is nice cream color but on cam it looks like shit...its like non yellow color.

When working with dark colors make sure you get samples and test them on the walls....I think both would look cool but panels will be more work

LoL! Well at least Im not alone! I know its uncommon. Kiddo is very independent too though. She slept in a bassinet in my room until she was a month old cause she kept "yelling" at me all nite and looking annoyed. First time in her her own room, she slept through the nite, next nite in my room she yelled at me all nite again..she wasnt having it and no interest... I think cause I snore? :D My door was usually open though, just that if I closed it, it means I want my privacy so banging/yelling at me through it is a no go.

About the white sheets though! I would say dont go that route...big areas of white just do not look good on cam. Especially with lighting, it will end up looking blinding..Any colour at all, even a pastel or something, for a bit of depth. :)

I think it'll depend on your lighting and your cam. Are you talking about maroon and purple fabric? Or paint? Light will do different things with both. Also, what color is your hair? Depending on your lights, it can be easy for dark hair to disappear against a dark background. (I speak from seriously frustrating experience.)

Definitely use a separate room if you have one available to you! It's the best way to go. I feel like I can just "go to work" and when I'm done it's out of my sight. I used to cam in my bedroom and I couldn't stand it... it was like I was always thinking about work. Also you can teach your daughter that "mommy's office" is off limits unless they are invited in by me (which is basically never). That's what I've taught mine. Make sure you have a lock also so no one can go in without you knowing.

You could easily pretty up that space! Maybe paint the walls a more neutral color if you can, or play up the color. It could really go either way.

Obviously just make sure you can still hear your daughter if she wakes up to come looking for you - which I'm sure you already thought of, but as a mom I just had to throw it out there! :)

I don't think its really necessary unless you have kids. I personally hate lots of space. I'm like a reverse claustrophobic or something.

dark hair and that's exactly what happened. no hair. And my hair is short and punk and also one of my features I get complimented on most. I'm thinking all kinds of pink and light blue may be the best way for me to go. Time to buy lots of white sheets from the goodwill and RIT dye!!

Another MAJOR problem surfaced. Wireless modem's in my bedroom. House, then garage then room. All the walls are concrete (Florida house)
I couldn't even stream a video off youtube. So....unless I put a modem directly into the spare room I wont be able to cam in there. I will say however, it motivated me to make 10, yes 10 awesome clips tonight!! So, it's definitely a work in progress.
Does anybody know for sure how concrete walls can adversely effect your internet connection? I'm pretty certain that's what the prob is because I came back inside and the sex box is flying at lightning speed O_o

You could try a wireless repeater, or you could you just run a really loooooooong cable to the modem. I did that for a while. Or just move it?

I always cammed from a 'dedicated' separate room, for three reasons

#1 - once you've got lighting, cameras, background, furniture etc. set up the way you want them, you can LEAVE them set up that way

#2 - if neighbors / family / local cops happen to show up, all you have to do is slam the door

#3 - a 'dedicated' camming studio room a.k.a. 'home office' allows you to legitimately claim the IRS 'home office' tax deduction, which then allows some portion of your rent / mortgage payment, property tax payment, utility bill payments etc. to be 'written off' as a business expense against your taxable camming earnings

@Melonie I can so really agree with the #1 & #2! I don't have a separate room now, and I just hate that I cannot leave everything the way I use it to cam! It makes too difficult to use the room in the everyday life and it's so annoying when someone comes by unexpectedly!

+ It's another reason for procrastination, like "oh my god, I have to set everything up again, and I only have 2 hours to cam, then my XYZ friend will come, so I have to hide everything again, I rather won't even start, I will just work some more at night..." which of course never happens.

My dream cam-room has a separated bathroom as well. I love to cam in the bathroom. Once the tiler came to finish the balcony, and while he was doing something out there, suddenly I realized "Oh my god, my whole dildo collection is in the bath tube!" So I rushed to the bathroom and hid everything in the laundry. Fortunately I was a bit faster than him, cause he just came in for some water for the adhesive. Zzzzzz....

^^^ indeed ... I have had more than a few occasions where it was REALLY helpful to just be able to 'slam the door', throw on some clothes, and pretend that 'there's nothing to see here' when an unexpected visitor showed up. And yes being able to leave everything set up saved me something on the order of at least 30 minutes, versus my very early days when I had to drag everything out of the closet, set it up, cam for a while, and then rip everything down and stash it again.

Also, don't sell #3 short. The 'home office' tax deduction, while subject to an elevated audit rate, can be worth a significant amount of money via reducing taxes due on camming income. In the most basic form, it goes on a percentage of total square footage basis. Thus if your 'dedicated' camming studio room represents 15% of the total square footage of your house or apartment, you can write off 15% of the costs of your rent, 15% of your electric and heat bills, etc. as legitimate business expenses ... which in turn subtract dollar for dollar from your gross camming income thus reducing taxes due.

I'll look into the #3, not sure how does that work over here, I'm sure it's like that in the US thou, as you said. We have things working a bit different. That is cool sometimes, but often simply sucks.

I have a separate room that I LOVE. Well, actually, I hate the room - its kinda awkward, and I don't have the spare cash to decorate it the way I want...but I love the fact that it is separate.

1. I love not having to set everything up and take it apart again -save me so much time and effort!!! And it means that I am far more likely to just jump on for an hour if I have the time.

2. I love being able to shut the door - especially as the dog would think that my dildos are chew toys! I don't have to worry about saving my stuff from the animals, or about showing people around - I just leave the door shut and say that it is the office.

3. It makes taxes so much easier. Like melonie says, it simplifies things if you are claiming a % of your bills and rent. I wouldn't want to have to deal with the hassle of working out how often I am working in the rest of my house...ugh.

4. It means that I am totally separate - my partner can go about his business, change clothes, shower, whatever...all without bothering or being bothered by me. Still haven't been able to soundproof it so that i can work while he sleeps, but that is a plan

5. I like keeping my personal sex life and my cam life separate. There is something a little odd sometimes about spending hours fucking yourself on cam, and then trying to have sex with your partner - its harder to switch off from work.

I cam in separate room and yes Melonie is right. I wrote off the extra bedroom when I filed taxes. Saved a ton of $$$!

I'm trying to find a new desk for my new place, but I can't seem to find anything really useful. I want something mobile (wheels or monitor stand) where I can move from chair to bed to anywhere else, and maybe even swivel it. I was thinking about buying a monitor desk mount, but was wondering if there's other cost effective desks out there.

So, can I see your desk/work station? Online photos/links where I could purchase it are an awesome help!

EDIT:I just realized I completely mis-worded the title. I didn't want to see girl's cam setup or decor, just the physical desk. I'm trying to find one online and was looking to see if ladies would be kind enough to link me to the desks they purchased. Sorry if I confused people.

I CANNOT wait until the day hubby and I get a new bed....I want one without a footboard so I can sit on the edge and just lay back and do my thing, preferably on a nice big king size bed. I cam right now in a spare room that doubles as my craft room, but I have curtains and a cabinet to cover all that up, so it just looks like a regular bedroom
