I remember watching a review on it and seeing them on a moveable mount. I'll have to find it again. But these are meant for hospitals and such so they're pretty durable, so the price tag isn't too off putting, not that it means I can afford it lol

I cam on the floor. It's a slab/cement floor, so it can get messy and it's easy to clean up. Plenty of space to spread out. I usually just lay a blanket down. Gives me plenty of room to move around, dance, reposition, etc.

I cam from bed or sofa and i use one ikea table, on wheels so i can move it around easy, has a drawer and enough space to put my cam gear in, is wide enough to have my laptop camera, mouse and coffee , water so on. I use a cooling pad under the laptop for two reasons , laptop overheating and the table is a bit to low for me (i'm like 5'8' tall ) , webcam on a small tripod . I also use their storage boxes for storing lingerie and costumes , they look quite nice and is decent quality.

Really, I've been using mine for 5 years (even before camming) and it is ok very sturdy
This stupid thing is actually the reason I started this thread lol. I bought this, put it together, put my laptop on it and it just about fell over!! Scared the living crap out of me!
I saw something just like this and considered it, but I don't think a corner table would work for me too well. It might work well if I desk mount (http://www.ergotron.com/Products/DeskMounts/tabid/71/Default.aspx) which I'm really considering doing.
Thanks ladies!

It's probably one of those items that's a hit or miss depending on who the manufacturer is. It had mixed reviews and the one I got had a bar that was just ever so slightly bent; but it was enough for the whole thing to wobble. I did not trust it with my brand new laptop.

I have a long , low table and just got the Ergotron arm mount which I absolutely love. I was very limited in movement beforehand , as I use a desktop computer and my webcam would only give me the up and down movement and was limited to one angle of the bed. Now I have the arm , I have started making use of the 180 degrees movement and can walk around the room, make myself seen from all sorts of angles.
I would definitely recommend it! What's good is that it fits almost any setting ( desk , table etc. )

I want to get a desk that converts from a sitting desk to a standing desk. The only ones I've seen so far have been expensive but if I can't find anything cheaper I'll probably end up spending the money because I think it would be super useful.
I had bought this desk which isn't convertible, but it does come in a convertible version ...I got it from Tiger Direct for about $150 but I don't know if it's in stock anymore. You could try Amazon. I think it's made by BUDDY, but SAFCO has a similar one. They are running $200+ right now. I like it, but I got tired of standing. It's pretty sturdy though. The second pic is the new bed frame I'm getting, but I'm getting a full. It has a couch feel to it, which I really like. Now I won't be falling off the bed while doing my thing! 3286432865

I am just on a cheap rolling desk from Walmart. I think it was under $40.
I have already torn off the orginally wood piece in the year and a half that I have used it and someone nailed on an leftover piece of unfinished wood they had. It looks horrid, but hey....it works.
It always surprises me how many people are surprised to find out that I cam from under an ikea loft bed. I have almost no space to move around in, but I guess I fake it so well that people always think that I am in a full sized room.

This might be too much but if you have a screw gun and a drill bit then you can screw the wheels into the button of the desk.

Where I sit is pretty low so I tried finding a cart or table with a shelve that was the height of a coffee table for my desktop to go on but I had no luck. I got this table instead and put wheels on it. I put my desktop in the corner of my room and got longer monitor cables.

I bought this mount from amazon and have it attached to the table above.

In the future I might get a table made from simplifiedbuilding.com (http://www.simplifiedbuilding.com/solutions/pipe-desk-frames/). They make custom tables. That way I can have a table that's my desired height with wheels and a shelf for my desktop. Here's one of their adjustable tables with wheels. I hate all the melt but I think it will get the job done.

I have a desk for my laptop and a basic three-point light system set up around it with my bed behind my chair... I finally arranged AAAAAAAAAALL this shit up specifically for camming, but.... I don't like it. At all. I actually fuggin' hate it :)
It's hard for me to read what's going on in my chat when I'm on my bed performing, plus I cannot pick my cam up from my bed to give close up shots of my pussy because it's too far away. If my bed were any closer to my desk, there wouldn't be any room for me to dance and pull my chair out from my desk. And even when I'm dancing, I'm too close to cam for viewers to really see anything other than my tits and stomach. Plus I don't think I look as good masturbating on a chair, to how I look on a bed with the cam exactly positioned where I want it just by tilting or moving my laptop on the bed.
So now I just use my bed as my "desk" and cam from there! It just looks way better to me and everything is much, much easier.

I love the creativeness that everyone has. I am set up in my regular home office with computer on desk, tripod for cam, and chair. :( It helps me to read the screen better but is killing my hip to sit there for very long. Plus I obviously can't change locations in the house. I must incorporate some of these ideas.

Great ideas here; I keep changing things around but limited as to space. I cam from a "spare" room, which I keep locked. It is small so I cam from a bed. It is literally a PIA for me, from being in the same position for a long time.
But my one recent improvement was a flat screen 34"" TV as as monitor. I can see how I am coming across and I think my shows are better. I also improved the lighting....a plus!
I use a "blue tooth keyboard" on the bed.
I chose my possible toys before I log on and put them under the pillows before a show. My lube is in a pump container next to the bed, I don't hide it...it is part of my set. Lubing toys and myself is part of the show and adds time. I try to make it look v. sexy.

I'm about to start camming again, but I recently just moved into a house with some new people. I have a tiny bedroom that has no desk or even a chair. I record video testimonials sometimes for companies and I've just been sitting on the floor recording my videos so it's not the best set up at all. :-/ I don't have any room for a desk or anything and my bedroom is the only space I have right now to use.

Hmm. Are you using a built-in cam, or something a little more mobile?
(I feel your pain with having a tiny bedroom. I grew up in a room which could fit a single bed, a wardrobe, some drawers, and that's it.)

Buy a lapdesk for your laptop (assuming that's what you have) and set it on your bed. I use mine from time to time and I really like the angles I get. You just can't do too much bouncing or your cam will be shaky. You can always get one of those tv/dinner stands at walmart or target for less than $20. They are a good height if you're standing.

I was actually thinking about buying one of those fold up tables from walmart, I had just been worried about lighting. I use a little tiny lamp for my lighting. When I start camming and earning again I'm going to get a really good lamp. Using a lapdesk on the bed is a really good idea !

Ahh. In that case, you can get all McGuyver with it. ;) If you have a window ledge, pop it on there and take advantage of the natural light. Find a way to attach it to your fixtures/fittings. If you can get hold of a tall lamp or hat rack, you can clip it on there. Ikea sell floating shelves. I've seen a top SM model (who knows I love her to pieces) stick her cam to a broken lamp. Get creative. If you don't have the money to invest in this stuff right now, go thrifting and find a bargain.
I make fetish videos with my handycam but don't have a tripod rn, and I prop it up with allsorts just to get the right angle. Things my old film tutor would forbid!

I cam in a small walk in closet... on the floor. It's the only space in my apartment that can down out sound well and is away from hubby and the kiddos while I cam. Thank goodness I'll be moving in a few months, but I still earn really good money and no customer has ever complained. Your space doesn't have to be perfect when starting out.

Same here. My entire room is basically a bed (the girly white Ikea one every girl in the world seems to have, lol). My room's extremely small. I just put my laptop on a tray, my Logitech on my laptop, and use a reading lamp on a table I have behind my bed. I literally live in my bed.
It's only problematic when a costumer wants a voyeur show where I walk around and do things around the room, because, well, I can't, haha. Also can't really model shoes. If I get a request to dance I just do it on my bed. Almost everything is manageable!

A 'trick' I used was to hook up a 42" HD flat screen TV for use as my computer monitor. Besides being able to mount the TV farther away from yourself while still being able to read text OK, the ability to wall mount the TV at any height you want allows your head to be in a more upright position relative to your camera placement. This also allows you a wider range of side-to-side motion relative to your camera placement.
Sort of bumping this thread... I am finally free from vanilla job and am trying to re-do my room today in order be more comfortable for longer hours. reading this thread because I need a creativity spark. I routinely cam from bed, but jeez I feel like now I LIVE in the bed.
Anyway, ditto on the 42" as a monitor. It is the only way I can split cam because I am blind and it was AWESOME esp. when hotties want to c2c. I would recommend sitting it a little lower then you are, for me at least, it looked like I was always looking up when i was just looking over the top of my laptop.

So I've recently moved apartments, and the monthly rent is almost more than I can handle. I'm still staying afloat, but I have to be very careful about what I spend extra money on. This means that I haven't been able to buy/replace things that are important for my camming. I have to buy makeup obviously, but I haven't been able to get any new camming outfits/underwear since I moved, and I have absolutely no decorations to put around my camming space.
I guess my question is: Should I be more worried about making myself look pretty and interesting? Or can I keep recycling my outfits (they are nice outfits, I'm not lacking in that sense) and spend money making my camming space look nice? at the moment it's pretty much just a blank white wall with a bit of my dresser so I can change clothes on cam if need be. I'm not sure how many of the guys who leave after one second are chased off because my background is so bland.
Also, does anyone maybe have hints on how to spruce up your space without spending much money? Thanks in advance!!

I actually think it's of the top 3 important things, which are good internet, looking neat and presentable and having a nice well lit cam space.
You don't have to spend much you just need to make sure it's clean. Look for decorations at the dollar store or look for things at home stores that are on sale. if your crafty go on Pinterest for diy ideas. Flowers or candles are a nice inexpensive touch to any bland space.

How rich a place does directly affect your earnings. There are many web sites and how to decorate for cheap. You only need to do the area you cam in.

I don't think you need to prioritize outfits... I personally have a specific style that I keep to, and basically wear a switched up variation of the same three outfits every time I cam.
As for decor, I've had great success with putting a mirror behind me. It's a simple way to make the room look bigger, and the guys love to get little sneak peeks of my backside.
String lights are also pretty cheap.

As long as your cam space is neat and tidy, it will be fine :) Right now I'm working with a clean bed with cute pillows and bedspread, with some headboards behind me. But I want to upgrade and get a nice couch with a standing mirror to the side and add more decorations like flowers, etc. The more of your personality you show, the better!
As far as outfits, I recently re-read Memoirs of a Geisha (where the main character has to entertain men everyday) and her mentor says: Men get tired of seeing you in the same outfits. They're visual creatures and like change. Sooo I try to change my outfits as much as I can! It doesn't have to be expensive, I buy like 5 skirts in different colors and swap them with a simple top. You can have a whole month's wardrobe from just a few pieces if you mix and match :)

Kitty, I believe that a nice, clean, attractive background is important. However, I also believe that making sure you work and focus on hustling is MORE important. The customers who buy your show aren't there to see your background, they're there to watch you perform for them which is all that matters. Once you hustle and make enough money to cover your bills and the things that you deserve then you can invest the rest in your background.
I too have moved and my background looks 10X better than before. I also pay much more in rent so I understand your struggle. I moved from an apartment with 2 bedrooms. My cam room was pretty bland but I offered a great service so I still banked. I then got bored and used that room for storage and then I cammed from my bedroom. I decorated that somewhat by just having a scentsy warmer, a vase of flowers, and a few decals on the wall and a bed with clean, attractive, linen. I banked that way too.
Once I moved I stayed with my relatives for a few months before getting the place I have now. My grandparents can't be assed to decorate so let's just say my background at that time was very "victorian" inspired with lots of shabby old fashioned PINK and BROWN furniture. I still hustled and banked! Now I'm in my dream home with a beautiful, wealthy looking background but it's half done. It's nowhere near what I want it to be but I'm improvising and just making sure that it looks clean and inviting and that I put on a good show.
All in all my point was that as long as you're giving your best as a cammodel the guys will keep coming back for more. Also, I charge $7.99/8.99 and kept my prices throughout all my backgrounds and the guys still paid, matter of fact, I raised my rates by $1 when I was staying with my relatives. That fugly pink chair got the bizznezz! :D
Guys really don't give a flying fuck as long as you put on a good show. I've seen girls hustling on the top rows living in an obviously messy ass trailer. Now, of course if your background is disgusting I wouldn't try and charge too much but if the guys keep coming back you're doing something right! What I've noticed throughout my various background changes was that I was consistent with work and I showed up. That's what made a difference.
You've got plenty of time to decorate. Hell, my place isn't even halfway done but that's okay. Keep your head up, focus on paying your bills and decorate on the fly when you can. Eventually you'll come to a place where you've got enough for bills and enough for your decorating needs. The more you work, the more you make, the more you make, the more you decorate ;) You'll eventually start filling that room up, you'll see.

I'm struggling with this right now too, making my cam space look nice. I recently moved and I haven't really saved up enough money yet, plus I'm not really sure what to buy. I had a decor theme at my last place and my cam customers loved it, but it got old so fast and I just want something classy and simple but high quality. To answer your other question I think your money is better invested in your cam space for sure! Customers love just seeing a simple tank top. I've worn the same one all week on cam that I bought at the thrift store.

Little things can definitely make a big impact income wise. I repainted the wall behind my camming bed a more complementary color, added a couple framed posters, & BOOM! $5 more per hour average. Little things can make a huge impact & different sites call for different decorations. Something as simple as a chalk board or candles can make a huge difference.

also, not to threadjack but i've never webcammed before and i'm a little anxious about using my tiny studio. it's just super bright and unique and i'd worry some creeper would recognize it.

Your space does effect your shows! It is one of the deciding factors in what kind of men you are going to get. If you leave it messy and dingy you are probably going to end up with customers that have a thing for trashy women. And that might be your niche.
My room is decorated in hippie, gypsy, natural decor. Alot of my regulars are interested in that sort of thing, lots of pillow talk after the sexy part of shows about saving the environment.
It might not effects how much money you make, but if you are only seeming to get asshole clients, changing your look and background might help you out.
kortneykay
04-02-2015, 11:29 AM
^I agree somewhat but I also think if you look like money even in a dingy shack, you'll still make money. Also, having regulars helps as well as great reviews when you have to move around. A new guy won't know that you're usually in better surroundings but if you're charismatic, sexy, etc they'll still take you private.

This is mine. I have a special bar where I have my webcams placed. Under the desk I have a journal and some note paper + pens for writing down appointments.
I also have a small table where I keep my water, a spotlight to close-ups, lube, lotion, my toy for the day, and other various accessories. Underneath the table I have a small box where all my other toys are stored. The spotlight can be moved to either nail. Both nails are holding something. The first nail holds my tiara and pearl necklace, and the second hold my headphones for especially loud customers. :P

No pics because room is in the middle of cleaning up, but I have my webcam (Logitech c920) on a tripod, it has the same sort of tripod mount on the webcam as most cameras. The tripod adjusts from about 1-5 feet. Tilts and rotates and stuff too. I have 2 "ghetto" lights rigged out of reading lamps with daylight bulbs and diffusion paper, they adjust from 3-6 or 7 feet. I put my laptop on my bed. I adjust for the blueness by fucking around with the white balance in my webcam software. Ta-da!
