I have one but rarely use it. Prefer to use a rgb ring light this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087WWZSP2/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_WG31XW7RZWXGBNS5Z155?_encoding=U TF8&psc=1

The Elgato has to be attached to the desk top or table. Feels like it can be pushed off or over way to easily. Since the RGB Ring light has it's own stand, save yourself $50 & order it. I use the phone app to adjust it to different colors or brightness.

Yes that's exactly what I need to get perfect thanks hun.

Now if I could just find some decent new lights for my background I'll be all set.

How often do you ladies change your background? I have a shelf with decorative items in view and rotate the items on it probably 4 times a year but it is looking stale now. Think I need a bigger change.

I am itching to do some light decorating and modifications to my cam room.
Ordered a slipcover and throw pillow covers this weekend, some shelves, and LED light strips.

Also got lost into the abysss on Youtube seeing some tutorials for backgrounds that a cammodel made using some fabric bought at Michael's and using fairy lights to give the background an extra pop- I think that would be fun to do

As much as I love fairy lights, they fucked with my cam. In the past, I hung a long curtain rod & changed out the curtains on a regular bases. Personally, I think velvet looks better than a shiny material behind a performer.

Always take into consideration your coloring & which colors behind you will make you pop on camera. Lots of little pictures or nick naks can look like clutter. A plant or fresh flowers can bring life and good vibes on camera. Personally I prefer one huge piece of abstract art or a bridge pic and such rather than several smaller pieces of wall art.

Have to admit this, one of my pet peeves is posters or pics of Marilyn Monroe. As much as I admire her talent & beauty, there should only be one star on cam. Which is you.

Thank you for the tips! I need all the help I can get lol!

My (in real life) style as far as decor is clean, and minimalistic- I have some pieces of artwork in my place, along with some big Buddha figures.
As far as my cam room- it has been boring and blah- so I want to liven it up a bit with a "clean" look and pleasing to my eyes, because from an energetic standpoint I will enjoy being in here.

I have been looking for some big pieces of artwork to hang above my loveseat and I am having trouble finding a good color scheme.
I saw an abstract painting last week locally- it was a very colorful piece of yellows, pinks and blues- I loved it, but refrained from buying it because I wasn't sure how it would register on cam.

You've probably seen it already, but in my space I have blue fairy lights underneath black sheer fabric. It kinda filters out the brightness and doesn't affect the auto-focus on my camera. The fabric is really a sheer curtain I ordered from Amazon.

This weekend I worked on a new background piece. It's almost done, I just need to add the peacock feathers to the top and add the chair my mil is giving me. For years I cammed sitting on the edge of my bed and then I switched to a gaming chair about a year ago. Now I'm gonna try it from an armchair. It's so damn comfortable.

The fan is going to go up on the wall and the armchair will replace the little table.

That is absolutely gorgeous!!! I can see you rocking that!!!

What you mentioned about the fairy lights was what I saw on Youtube. She picked up a sheer material from Micheal's and put the fairy lights behind it.

I think I may need to just check out more decor ideas to get inspiration from :)

Beauty of abstract art is you can easily do it yourself in colors you love. :)

Same, I can't have any sort of lights behind me on cam because they always fucked with my cam. Even if they were dull and very far back.

The peacock feather fan that is in my avatar is always behind me when I cam! I am obsessed with peacock feathers. The peacock room in the Linderhof is my dream room: https://cdn.prod.www.spiegel.de/images/4c82c5af-0001-0004-0000-000001056385_w1200_r1_fpx49.77_fpy44.98.jpg

^^ OMG that is amazing, the cushions, the rugs, everything WOW is a stunning

I wanted to try hanging plain curtains but I'm afraid of it looking like a theatre.

I thought I could work around not using lamps and buying sconces or a hanging light like these

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/55/f2/24/55f2242cc4812c36f6b1d678b29b021d.jpg

But they are just as expensive. I really love the neon lights too

I would love to have a room liek this but I'd need to move to bigger place!

I love all the purple & looks completely doable even on a budget. Try Ikea for the hanging lights.

I love everything about this girl's setup. The screen, the plants, the lighting. And it can all be done without any damage to walls.

I stumbled upon a cute organization blog post https://supersmashcache.com/optimizing-sex-toy-storage/

Wish I could setup a shelf like that and just turn my cam whenever someone wants to see toys. Such an easy way to charge for something with minimal effort and with a collection that big be a great icebreaker

Has anyone tried the vintage edison bulbs on cam? I'm curious how it would look, probably too yellow/orange but maybe could be cool for a video

Just from the experience of having them in a couple lamps around the house, they pull really warm & yellow. I'd watch some photography or video clips from pros on youtube of them being used before investing. They can be quite pricey for nice ones. I would maybe consider them for a photo shoot, but definitely not as a main light source on cam.

I am so excited to talk into this thread, damn it! For the first time in 10 years of camming, I finally got the courage to rent a separate space for camming and not camming from bedroom anymore. It fucked me mentally to sleep and work in the same room.
Unfortunately, the owners won't let me throw their dumb ugly and old furniture, but they let me paint the walls at my expense, since they didn't get to renovate after the last tennants. They have been smoking in the apartament and it smells terribly. The apartament is a one bedroom one, which is awesome because I only re-paint the living room, where I will work and stuff their ugly furniture in the bedroom, where I won't put my foot in (maybe only to store some camming stuff in the closet). Kitchen and bathroom are in good condition. I will only use the toilet and the sink anyway (my first purchase for that place was a new toilet seat cover, hahaha! Not gonna put my ass where some stranger did put their nasty ass on) and only the fridge and the coffee maker, in the kitchen :))
Today I had internet installed and hopefully, by the end of the week I am done with re-painting the room.

Floors are in ok-ish condition, there is laminate wood floor, but it's old. It doesn't matter, as I am buying a huuuge rug, to cover the whole area, because I walk on heels and I have neughbors under, it's good for soundproofing (excellent for clip making, as it absorbs the background noise) and it also looks good on camera.

Tonight, after work, I also order my sofa. It's gonna be some cheap $350 modern one, maybe this will convince them to throw their ugly ass sofa. There's no point to buy an expensive one, as I will only rent it till next summer, when I will build my own camming space. THAT's when I will make everything lavish. Meanwhile, fresh paint, a sofa and some cheap accesories such as a lamp, a nice painting (there are tons of nice cheap paintings). I want to leave this new sofa there, I am not gonna take it with me, I am ready to make this "trade" to convince them to throw the ugly smoke smelling sofa :))))
I can't bring the sofa in the bedroom, as it's too big, thankfully the living room is big enough to be able to push it in a corner and not be in the camera view field. But It's a space I could use it, as in putting extra storage space.

I also have to order a big ass TV, so i can work from the sofa. Nothing expensive, I've seen some ok 4k 55" Samsung Tv, for only $550 or something. Big enough screen to fit 4 camsites and also see something, lol. THAT one will come with me, when I move :))))

I am sad I can't really use the bedroom too, would have been a great extra setup for clip making, but ffs I am not gonna repaint the whole apartament. I am fine with the living room. If I would have rented long term (a year at least), then yes, it could have been called a decent investment in a money maker place.

I can't wait!!!
This is one major reason I had some many procrastination moments. Only the fact that I always had to move lights around, put everything away, put everything back, etc. It really sucks to live and work in the same room.
The fact that I will make more money, be more mentally relaxed, will work more, will cover the rent price which... makes everything priceless, at this point.
My only issue is... why the fuck I didn't do this earlier...

Congratulations on securing your space. I understand the need to have a separate work space. I recently cleaned up and set up my cam room in my office. I was camming from my bedroom due to the ac being in there but now that the weather is getting cooler I'm back in my office. Funny thing is. I have a bed in there and I've been passing out there after each shift instead of my master bedroom. The tranquility and separation is necessary. I love knowing I can relax in my room or balcony and work is in an entirely different area.

Wanted to thank the person who suggested the extended camera bendy arm. Set up my 3 point lighting system in my cam room today. Decided to decorate with the 'modern royal' scheme I did before. Whites, purples, matching bedroom set and wardrobe for all my cam shit. White industrial desk, white high back bawce swivel chair. Adjustable Ring light. I like having the bed showing in the background. With all these tools I feel ready for Winter.

Exactly! After I am done with work, no matter how late it is, I feel like going in the living room and relaxing a little. I simply can't get right to bed. I am opening the windows to get fresh air, taking off the work bed cover, etc. I don't wanna do this anymore. I just wanna open the windows before and after work and that's it. Leave the room and work problems in there :)))

Update: Finally done with renovations. The new work place looks DOPE! I managed to buy a fucking $875 couch with... $350! I was lucky enough to get a 40% OFF voucher (my mobile provider is in partnership with some furniture stores and they offer vouchers to clients, for one purchase. It couldn't have been in a more appropiate time) and buy it with only $350. I am still in shock.
I can't put pics, due to safety reasons, but yeah. I didn't spend so much, I was thinking I will spend way more.
Sofa: $350
Renovating and painting the walls: :$150 (I used some metallic colored paint on the accent wall and that was quite expensive)
Rug: $30 (it's more like a thick blanket, than a rug...)
Some shelves system: $40

I still have to buy a big ass TV, some 55" one, but I am waiting for black friday. Although, it's only $500 for a 4k, idk how much cheaper i can get, to be a decent quality too...

Mmmm, I don't know about making them angry, but red walls might be a little outdated and tiring for the eye overall? This could contribute to atracting trolls, altough, we all get angry men and trolls regardless. Especially around holidays, there is an influx of assholes.

Maybe giving a fresh look of your cam room, with more trendy colors, might atract better customers. I used to believe that decor is not that important, but it actually is. Something trendy, well balanced in colors and decors, not too cluttered (or too opulent), flattering to you, your skin, your outfits and style, with proper lighting can do wonders.
For both our self confidence or how members are perceiving us. Since I moved into the new cam space (altough my bedroom is pretty modern), I get many compliments and I didn't do much, just colored a wall, added a couch and a rug that have a nice contrast with the wall. It's simple, but it doesn't get the eyes tired and doesn't make me blend with it either. No need to do much or spend much actually, to give a fresh vibe to you room. Maybe try coloring it differently and see how it is?

Take a look on livejasmin at the girls category. Many have a mirror, you can hover with the mouse trough the rooms. Maybe you get inspired.
Other than that, just play with the angles, make the mirror point past your lights. We don't know your camming setup so it's hard to estimate, that's why you better look at other models hahaa.

Not so much cam decor but more along the line of cam space…I used to DREAM of going full time and being able to work from home. These days I dream of getting a separate cam space and getting the fuck out of my house more often lol all about perspective I suppose. Does anyone rent a separate work space? I don’t make enough at the moment to swing that but I was thinking maybe when I buy close on my house I can look into it

I did it for 1 year but it was pretty far from my place. Like 30 min by car distance. I hated it with all of my guts honestly lol. I hated not beeing able to disconnect and go into my safe place when things got too much. Also I could not really take breaks if I wanted to go home already so I worked 8 h with no breaks ( breaks did not feel like breaks anyway since that was "work"). I could not cam any hour I wanted due to diffrent factors aswell.

If you are super close to home than I belive it is a diff story.

I can relate from an sex work sense, separating work from home was a revelation first for in-person work then virtual services although the latter worked in reverse. A cut off and boundaries are important in my experience.

I did write about this just 1 page back :))) I rented a separate camming space in October 2021 and it's the best decision I could have ever take. For almost 10 years I did work from the same bedroom I was sleeping and it fucked me mentally, I started working less and less, have inconsistent schedules, feeling major burnout and didn't feel like doing anything. Also, my sleep was affected a lot, I couldn't sleep, waking up really hard, falling asleep super late, having vivid dreams about camming while sleeping and I would often wake up... a mess. But that happened after a few years, not quite in the begining.
In the begining, or doing it on short term, there's no problem to do it, but as a full time job, it's good to think at a separate space. Either rent a bigger apartament with extra bedroom for work, either rent a separate space.
It's true that it's in the same apartament unit, I basically just go down a few floors, I've been incredibly fortunate to see the tenants moving out and called the owner immediately. They also accepted a lower price because the apt needs renovations, but I took it like that. It's a 1 bedroom apartament, but a studio would have been enough. I rarely walk into the bedroom, I just store toilet paper there and cleaning stuff, lol. I renovated the living room, colored a wall, bought a cheap but trendy couch, added some extra classy decorations and that's it. I didn't spend more than $1000.

I am more disciplined now, since I am pretty lazy to go home, unless I take a longer break. And being disciplined, helped me increase my earnings, so the fact that I pay rent and utilities, besides my own apt mortgage+ utilities, is minor and doesn't count. It's an investment that I gladly take.
Same as you, I was scared and thought I couldn't keep up, but when you're under pressure of saving big $$+ paying utilities and rent/ mortgage in 2 places, discipline hits like a good bitch haha!
But again, it's super close to my apt, I go down on foot, takes me 5 minutes, so make sure you find something really close, not more than 15 minutes away, otherwise it will become a burden, especially if you put long hours like me.

Making the switch to get a separate work room from my bedroom was huge. Like you mentioned, I had super vivid dreams. I would dream that I was online and it get like my brain just couldn’t rest in that space. I’ve been working from a separate room in the house for a couple years now. It’s very convenient to not have to leave. But probably what bothers me most of all is, I work between 42-50 hours a week generally just stuck in that room. I go days without leaving my apt and sometimes well over a week. The thought of at least getting outside even just to go to work I think would make me happier. But I do agree with you and the others, it has to be very close or else it’ll be to easy to make excuses not to go

It happens to me the same, it's the problem with working many hours. I have weeks when I don't go out of the house, not even for a walk in the park, but that's the price we pay for trying to be top earning camgirls. Only a few have the luxury to make $20k+ a month and not have to work at least 10 hours a day. Even if you rent a separate space, the commute is gonna be a pain in the ass eventually. If you wanna leave the house, do it for a hobby. For example, 2-3 days a week you only put 8 hours and you go out for whatever you wanna do for an hour or 2: dance classes, cooking classes, gym, etc. Something pleasant.

I would love to have an extra bedroom to cam from the house, I don't like the idea of renting, but I have to deal with it only by the end of the summer, as I am gonna start building a camming space with home gym at the country side. So, even if I have this rented apartament, I am not even leaving the building, I still am stuck here for 10-12 hours and have to leave house and come back. Don't waste the money on that, it's gonna be same shit, except that you gotta wake up earlier, dress up before leaving the house, etc.

Speaking of excuses, when you have extra rent and utilities to pay, you can't really make haha. Since you have extra space already, no need to burden yourself with that.

Hello ladies I have decided to clear out my cam space and refresh it during this month I am taking off. I am going to paint over my bright red walls and do some rearranging... I decided I want to do purple. It looks good with my skin color and hair I think... but what to choose?

I like how gold looks with it

^^I looooove those. Purple is my favorite color and I painted my last camroom purple:

My suggestion is to get something pretty pigmented because anything that's very pale or neutral might look washed out in your camera and not read as purple at all. I propped all my swatches up behind me on cam and looked at them that way so I could see how the colors would actually look while streaming, and lots of the purples looked straight-up gray or white. Also I would decide on whether to go with a cool-toned or warm-toned purple based on your complexion; if you're a warm get a warm if you're a cool get a cool.

Go for something more pigmented, as Genoveve said. I also did my camroom purple + golden accents and I had to add an extra super pigmented coat because it was looking pink-ish grey on cam.
You need something darker... like this example:

That is just lovely!

I am going to take your advice, get samples and test them in the room before I commit. It is going to be a little time consuming I tihnk since need a primer to cover the red first. I definitely dont want pink grey!

I do indeed! I only do special events due to covid, but we can drive around the block a few times if you like. 😂
