I had a guy send me a gift card today, get time for it, and then cancel it! When I tried to redeem it, it said,
"This gift card is no longer active because the sender has issued a replacement gift card. Please check your email to see if you have received the new card. If you cannot find this email, we suggest that you contact the sender as they may have sent the new gift card to a different email address."
*rage*
Holy shit...have never heard of this happening!! Was it a physical card or an e-card??
Redeem all Amazon gift cards immediately, it only takes a few seconds and if the guy is serious he won't mind waiting a minute.

I can sometimes be lax with redeeming them right away, so its good to know this is a possibility.

I don't have an amazon wishlist for this reason. Also this gives anyone the idea of where you are. If the guy can't spend money on the site then he has no business asking about amazon. Some guys do this just to find out where you are. Also if there is an issue with shipping the company may release your EXACT ADDRESS to the PURCHASING PARTY.
DO YOU WANT SOME RANDOM GUY THAT CAN'T AFFORD A PRIVATE TO HAVE YOUR PHYSICAL ADDRESS? It has happened to a few models already, just be careful.
You don't use your home address for anything online!!!!!!! I don't know how many times I or someone has to say this, but seriously girls, be smart! You get a PRIVATE MAILBOX - NOT A POST OFFICE BOX -- and use this PRIVATE MAILBOX for your physical address for wishlists and anything else you might do online. This way no one gets your home address. They will only see a box address like the following:
123 Any Street Box 345
City, State Zip
DON'T USE THE POST OFFICE!!!! They can't accept UPS, Fedex etc, BUT a PRIVATE MAILBOX can!
And FFS, just don't accept wishlist gifts as payment for anything. Wishlists are for GIFTS, not payment for service. It's way too easy for these idiots to cancel wishlist gifts.
As for amazon gift cards - I'm surprised so many of you aren't thinking to claim them before starting a show. You should ALWAYS be thinking of your money FIRST girls. Don't let these asshats take advantage of you!!!
Some assholes will ALWAYS look for any possible way to cheat you. You have to stay one step ahead. Use your thinking cap. No matter how a guy is paying, you should always get the money into your own account in whichever way before you do anything else.

I use a PO BOX and never have this issue, All you have to do is ask for the "street address" of your PO BOX and put that in your shipping info on amazon and UPS and FEDEX have delivered all of my gifts from my wishlist no problem!

I recommend using maillinkplus.com if you're wanting to get gifts shipped to you anonymously. I have a guy who "supposedly" bought me a Christmas gift off of my wishlist. He has a 2 in front of his name, so he has spent some money on me. Furthermore, he comes into my room often and asks if I got my gift yet. Amazon told me it was cancelled, and he knows he won't get sexy pictures of me in the corset until I ACTUALLY GET THE CORSET. I have no idea what his angle was with this one, but I'll definitely put him on the spot and then ban him when I see him again. I think he was just enjoying my extra friendliness from me whenever he'd come into my room.
Never give them anything until you've gotten the item, whether it be a gift or an e-card. Now I need to relist that corset because it's super cute, grrrr. I wannit!
Is there an official thread on a list of scammers, amazon or otherwise?
I'm on my 3rd week on MFC and super early on someone asked me if I had a Amazon wish list and that he'd like to buy everything off it for me.
So I made a specific to modeling/camming/sexy list. And finally shared with him the link, he immediately said he bought everything on it last week. All the items still display they are purchased. Then he did it again last night.. just a few days apart. If it's true.. the first of it will get here on Friday. If not I'm banning, telling here, and mentioning it to my 20k followers on twitter. I won't get extra excited till I pass out if things arrive.. otherwise F him! & I'd likely only accept things from people I know are big fans etc. or GC's with the quickness.
Glad he said he didn't want anything in return also, so just maybe he is real. But i'm pretty paranoid cause i'd LOVE all that stuff But yeah is there an official list yet?

Awesome! Fingers crossed it goes through.
Has anyone tried e-gift cards from agent provocateur or other sites besides amazon (just for gift purposes)?

A model had recently said that when her boyfriend went to pick up her mail for her at her P.O. Box, the boyfriend had noticed some other driver trying to follow him to the P.O. Box location! I think when her boyfriend stopped and got out his car, the other driver suddenly sped away.
That's fucking crazy.

Like others have said, the key to accepting e-gift cards with Amazon is applying them to your account as SOON as the guy sends it. It takes two seconds, and then they don't do a refund or whatever. One time I forgot to do this, and what do you know? he canceled it. Dude named Ambrose, from South Africa. The ONE TIME I saw the e-mail and forgot to actually apply the code, we do a 20-minute show, and when I went to apply it I got that same error. I even called Amazon, and they said he had indeed canceled the transaction.
I think a lot of the guys who pay with Amazon or insist on Amazon are banking on the fact that we may not know about applying the money to our account. "i only do Amazon" = "I hope you don't redeem this right away!", in my opinion, at least. Sometimes if a guy seems extra fishy, I'll even buy something digital with the code, like some Kindle books or a few movies, just so I'm 10000000% positive he won't woke up my day.

I think it's a bit odd for a guy to ask a model "You have a wishlist?," and then leave her room after she says "No, I don't have a wishlist, but I LOVE Amazon e-gift cards." The fact that he's brought up the topic of wishlists implies that he's willing to spend his money. So why leave the model's room just because she said "I don't have a wishlist"...when he could've just A) used that same $20 or whatever to tip right now, or B) used that same $20 to send an e-gift card instead? Stuff like that is what makes me a little suspicious of some people. I understand that some guys prefer to buy specific items for models, which is fine, but if you want me to believe that you "just wanna do something nice to make ME happy," then shouldn't you be going with my preference of the gift card? Dude, just tell me what you're really thinking..."I just wanna brag to your room that I'm the one who bought that sexy outfit that you got on." LOL. Or if he's the stalker type..."I just wanna look at your wishlist so I can see if you were dumb enough to put your real name and city/state on there, bb."
And the thing is some of these guys who asked "You have a wishlist?" weren't regulars. They just came in the room, hardly spoke, asked if I had a wishlist, and then left after I said that I don't. Things that make you go hmmmmm.....

I hope you used a PO box in your stage name. I don't think there is a "list" per se because most of us DO NOT have amazon wishlist due to the fact they are so unsafe. good luck
Amen.
Common sense of the internet, ladies: When you recieve an email, ALWAYS double-check the sending address. If your email client allows it, you should be able to view the REAL address it was sent from by clicking through to view more info, even if they mask it. GMail is great for this.
For those of you that know the basics of html, view the email's source. Anything like
<a href="ACTUAL URL HERE">NAME OF LINK AS YOU SEE IT HERE</a>
the tags should match! This way, you should be able to see the actual link you're going to, rather than the text they WANT you to see. If it's a shortened URL, the service used should have a preview function on their site.
Don't mind my blah-blahing.
Ahhhh. I so wish I just got what you're saying.
Yeah. i was asked to do a wishlist but fortunately from reading here I know they city /state shows up. I know alot of smart ladies will get one far away from their spot, but some don't. Stalkers are very rsourceful. Mention where you're going like say aking Sparky to the vet at 8 pst like I saw one model say with her wishlist stating around that area..... They might be phoning vets to "double check sparky' appt time. Or however they can word it. Or just taking that1,000 to one shot that the place they show up is the place she shows up. From there they just follow you home. Or say they're sending you something from your wishlist and then waiting every day to see you pick it up. Paranoid? Yes!
On another note. Are the amazon wishlist cards safe? Can they see where stuff got sent?

@Mare: Your best bet is having the guy send you an Amazon e-gift card. With an e-gift card, all he needs is your e-mail address and that's it. Be sure to give him the e-mail address that you use for camming-related things only...not your 'real life' e-mail address that has your real name attached.

Not doubting that you heard this, but wondering at the veracity of the story from the story teller. I mean, if a guy somehow got the model's PO Box location from Amazon, he wouldn't know how to get to the boyfriend to follow him TO the PO Box. He'd have to just wait at the box for someone to pick up the mail, then follow them home from there. If the guy got some other address, like their home address, I imagine he'd go straight in, instead of waiting for the boyfriend to go to the PO Box and following him to that.
This said, I do have a model friend who had someone wait at her PO Box for her. One of her biggest fans, someone who wrote her tons of emails and who she saw on cam every night (a serious whale), suddenly disappeared. She didn't hear from him for about a week or two, and she wondered (as I think we all would if a similar thing happened) what happened to him and if he was okay.
At the end of this, she went to her PO Box. A guy walked up to her and asked if she was [her stage name]. She politely smiled and said that she was. He pulled out a gun and shot himself.
When the police came, they were dicks when she told them she was a cam girl/model (as per usual, right?). They called her later and told her that he had a letter on him, addressed to her. Basically the letter said that he'd gotten her PO Box address (I don't know how) and followed her husband back to their house. He said he watched them for some period of time (I forget how long). He'd had the white knight stereotype of models in his head and was convinced that when he saw her he'd find that her life was terrible and he'd get to rescue her, where they would fall madly in love and live together forever. "When I saw you and your family together I saw how happy you were. I knew I couldn't be a part of your happiness and if I couldn't be the one to make you happy, I didn't want to live."
My friend was super traumatized, quit the business, moved, and, "found Jesus."
Clearly this was an extreme case, but fans stalking us has happened and has had serious consequences. It's also worth noting that police generally do not give a shit about us, so we can't expect much of a sympathetic audience there.
Thanks bbcakes. I just figured it'd be good to have a list because there may be a few guys who are doing this to multiple girls at one time, so it'd be a nice heads up for a yea or nay on the legit side of it.
& Gosh what a miserable story :/ about the suicide and all
As for the wish list, today is the day i find out if it's real or just hot air. I'm not too worried about guys knowing what state I live in, I've been in a public eye for many many years and everyone knows what city I reside in. However to avoid the wait and see fun of the future, I will accept gift cards from now on from mfc, and only wish list items from people I've known for years, or regulars.

He can call amazon and get your full address, not just the state you live in.
