So yesterday when I went to the store to look at the C910 we compared it to the MacBook Pro's Isight which I have and it has the same resolution :O So now I'm stuck and don't know if I should buy a Camara if mine is so 'good' But I still feel my camara quality isn't as good as what I've seen from other girls on mfc

^^^ well, in the 'grand scheme of things', experts will tell you that all of the mass market webcams are 'crap' compared to more 'professional' setups ...
The 'de-facto' standard for HD webcam video typically involves an analog camera of similar quality and features to a Sony EVI-D100 ... see
... PLUS a HD video capture card / module of similar quality and features to this >>> for desktop computers,
or this >>> for laptops with a USB 3.0 port ( note that laptops with a standard USB 2.0 port cannot transmit image data fast enough to use this module at true HD resolution ). A different model is just becoming available for use with Apple laptops with a ThunderBolt high speed port. See >>>
Obviously, the vast majority of camgirls don't invest in 'professional' level camera / video capture equipment, but more than a few do. And, objectively speaking, the LogiTech C910 / C920 as well as Apple ISight cameras ( built-in or otherwise ) are the 'cream of the crap'. But then again, these mass market webcams offer perhaps 50% of the performance of a 'professional' setup for 15% of the price !!!
As to whether or not the additional investment to achieve 'professional' level video streaming is economically justified, that's certainly a topic wide open for discussion.

Also just a note... a lot of girls have a c910/c920 or even a 9000 and their picture seemed wayyyy better then mine despite having the same cam. I think lighting has a lot to do with it >.> invest in a nice light setup imo, you'll see a drastic improvement with any camera.
i messed around a bit, and my cam looks a hundredfold better. :)

omg! I just got my b910 in today! it is AWESOME!!!! such a clear picture! I was using the C310 and it worked really well, but I had no clue how much better it could be when I upgraded!
It was only $48 on e-bay and I already made that money back in this last hour, my regular tipped me for getting a better quality picture.
Just wanted to give my rating on this cam, excellent choice! thanks girls.

I jinxed my webcam by thinking about replacing it...it fell into the washbasin when I was about to make a clip and is producing some interesting visual effects!
It's a Logitech pro 9000 and the only decent cam I can get at short notice is the Logitech C920...I'll pick up later this evening, fingers crossed it's good for cam and making clips! Any comments about it welcome!
Also...I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ6 camera...it should record but it isn't, I've bought a fast SDHC card that should be compatible and even formatted to FAT32 but the thing will not record...if anyone has any ideas I'd be happy to hear them! I can't find anything on the net.

I have been trying to decide between the 910 and 920. I have been using the 910 and tried the 920 forever ago and didn't like the way it looked color wise plus I hear a couple of SM girs were having issues with it. I may give it another swing this month and really test it out. This video I added may be useful for anyone wanting to see the color difference with the 910 and 920. f course you can adjust the colors in the settings menu but the default way it shows colors makes a huge difference. I think the 920 made me either too color too warm so I couldn't find a happy medium. But again, I'll test it out and report to you ladies once its been purchased and tried out on the encoder. If that doesn't work I'm just going to invest in getting a camcorder. Any recommendations of a good one for camming under $500? lol Melonie? I've seen some of the great cams you recommend but they're a bit out of my budget. I haven't made it big yet like you sexy lady ;-) Or do you think its worth saving an extra month or two and getting the EVI-D100?? So many options! lol.
This vid helps compare the two cams

Oh I forgot to ask Melonie, are you saying I need to get Blackmagic product in order to get the full use of the Sony? My new laptop does have 3.0 ports in it so I know its compatible just wasn't sure if the Blackmagic device works as a boot for HD or an adapter for those still on 2.0
And thanks again so much for sharing your vast knowledge of everything =) Your the bestest!

Any time I buy a webcam, it will most likely be a Logitech cam since it's a well-known, trusted brand. I have the Logitech HD C910 cam, and I'm very happy with it. :)

Ive had the Logitech bcc950 conference cam for two weeks now. At first I wasn't too sure about it because of the lack of software. I thought I wouldn't be able to make clips and so forth. Not true as it turns out if you have Logitech software on your pc it does in fact work. The biggest draw of this cam is the pan tilt zoom features and of course the remote control. In the beginning I had to do a reboot whenever I wanted to use this webcam with my software, but once I disabled the internal webcam I have had no issues. Also with this cam you can adjust the video quality of the image, but again you have to do it through the software that can be downloaded on the Logitech site. In addition to the Logitech software I have found that it can be adjusted with the Justcamit encoder. If you are going to use it with SM then you should make your adjustments in the Logitech Software beforehand and then close the Logitech software. All adjustments will be stored when you log in using the encoder. I currently use this on a Lenovo desktop with windows 8 and with two 3.0 usb ports. You do have the option of using a power adapter instead of two usb ports.
Before now I was using this on a laptop Lenovo P500 I7 processor with an upload speed of 3mpbs. I had some issues but now I realize it may have been because I didn't disable the internal web camera? And I was using 2.0 ports. The quality of stream is awesome per my customers. And that's really all that matters. It cost me $175 on amazon with shipping as a prime member. After working out all of the kinks my only concern left for this camera is that there is NO Replacement parts for it. So if you lose the remote or step on it...you cant just buy a new one. Or if the actual camera falls you cant get a new one. Sucks. IF you have an Logitech orbit AF lying around you can use it but the quality isn't as good and the pan tilt options don't work. I hope this helps those who may be considering this cam. In my experience as long as you have proper lighting and a really fast processor and upload speed you can get the job done.

Omg Ive had 2 orbits and they suck so bad! I wouldn't recommend that cam to anyone ever! The picture is so grainy and it is not very reliable. Both that I owned had issues with the pan/tilt and with connecting with the pc. I hated it. I still have it in the garage somewhere collecting dust lol, Sold the other on ebay.

No disrespect but if it sucked so bad why have you had two? And I wasn't recommending going out and getting one. But if you still have one it can be used in the conference cam. But of course only if you ever had to. My orbit has worked wonderfully for me on a dual core and an upload speed of 3mpbs. I ONLY use this webcam on one process at a time though and it has been wonderful for content. No wait, I did split camming with this same camera and did very well. Its not my preferred but it served its purpose. My house is like a techno graveyard. Full of cables, adapters, cameras, remotes, converters etc etc. We don't throw electronics away cuz I've found you may need them in a pinch.

I just bought the bcc950 conferencecam too (like, a few days ago). As someone previously said in verified, it's REALLY noisy for the viewer when you use the pan/tilt function, as the microphone is right next to the moving parts. But, I like the colours a lot better than the 910 (never had the 920 but I think the 950 is basically the 920 with pan/tilt) and the zoom is better than the 9000.

I don't use the mic on the base. I use the one on my desktop. I was thinking about getting an external mic for my setup. But gosh my desk looks like the matrix as it is!

I did not purchase two. One was extremely defective and Logitech had sent me another one since it was still under warranty. I gladly took it assuming it may have just been defective but had the same if not more issues with the new one they sent out. Two is enough for me to say its a bad cam. And even when it did work, the picture quality was very poor when compared to the Logitech 910. I can show some pics to prove this. Im not knocking you I'm just giving my experience with the camera and saying that, for me, it was a headache and huge waste of time. I wouldn't recommend it. I didn't say you were telling anyone to go buy one. My comment was simply my experience with the cam. Not directed at you or about you. I apologize if it came off that way. Its sometimes hard to interpret someone's mood via text =p lol happens all the times in the forums.

For those with Logitech BCC950 model. Can you use it on Skype ? I read a review on Amazon about the pan tilt and zoom don't work on Skype. I just want to confirm if true because the cam features mention it does work on Skype.

just to mention - one really annoying problem I'm having with the camera is that it seems to need to reinstall every time I use it! If I try to use it straight away it isn't recognised :(

I need a new webcam too. Is it possible to get one that I can also take videos of myself with? For recording? I know I may be asking daft question, sorry if I am! None of my others have had this feature.

if you use a logitech webcam you can use the logitech software to record. Or you could use a cam capture program

Hi there, Currently I am using a Logitech HD C310 webcam. It cost me $50 a few months ago. I have a pretty nice camcorder (well my 12 yo daughter does) A JVC fullHD Everio GZ-EX250 that cost around $400. Would the work as a webcam? Better quality than the webcam I am using? She also has a tripod for it. Thanks for any replies :)

I really want to go back to the Microsoft life cam loved them. This: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9050556.htm
But currently using this make: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9093496.htm
I really should tell you all about the day I brought three webcams! Four if you include the one I had to return. What the cashier thought I'll never know.

Is it worth it to get a camcorder and use it as a webcam quality wise? Obviously its dual purpose to record video as well. Whats a good place to start looking ofr one?

^^^ I suppose its worth it if you have the money to spend on it. Im using the conference cam right now. But soon Im going to add the Sony Handycam with a wireless remote and the tripod. The whole thing I can get for about $400. Its worth it to me so I can have two computers set up at once. The Handycam for my desktop and the bcc950 on my laptop. It just depends on your budget. But to be honest you don't need the most expensive equipment to make money. Just make sure you have a good upload speed. You will need that no matter where you cam! If your goal is to make money on Streamate then a Logitech 9000,c910,c920 or 950 is more than enough. Proper lighting. A computer that can handle that encoder. Some days I don't even use that damn encoder and I did well.

I haven't started camming yet because I'm waiting for my B910 to come in the mail. I'm glad your review of it is good because I was wondering what the difference would be from the c910 and the b910 since I can't ever find a review on the "B910"

The B is business class from what I could gather it means it dosn't come with the software bundled with the c910 and If I remember right you cant record with it (unless you have extra software)
