Hi there, totally newb here. I cammed the other day for like 5 minutes max and I quit immediately because I realized I don't know what exactly I should be doing when there's nobody in my "room." So I was just kind of sitting there and then someone came in and immediately left. I am only comfortably with mild nudity and no sex/masturbation shows - I'm a great tease and experimenting with my domme side but I don't know how to do those things if nobody is the room. What do you recommend doing in an empty room that is sexy but isn't just masturbating so that when people come in the room they are more enticed than if I'm just sitting there and I seem actively engaged, which helps the room feel less empty?
Also, in terms of the "experimenting with my domme side," I'm wondering if you have tips for things you can have customers do if they don't have cam2cam or if they're only interested in typing. I don't know what I can tell them to do that would feel enforcible to them if I can't see pictures or video of them and I imagine that the feelings of being dominated might suffer if you knew that your domme had no way to know for sure if you did it and enforce the rules. And it's important to me in the sense that I have more fun when I am sure they're taking my orders seriously.
I realize from both of these paragraphs, I must sound horribly uncreative (and not very dominant) but this is just new territory for me - but territory that I'm actually really psyched to explore. That said, any guidance/advice on some of the more concrete things that cam girls should do in the beginning before people are clamoring for their shows, particularly from a domme perspective, would be greatly appreciated. I imagine even fairly well-established models end up occasionally starting with an empty room so perhaps this is a good "universal advice" question. Thanks!

If your "psyched" to explore this why not log the fuck on and stay there!! OR maybe read this forum for like a couple hours and search for the answers you seek! Just cause you think you're a goddess doesnt mean we have to spoon feed you. :banghead:

Hi freyja
You didn't say what site you were on - I'm guessing MFC, Streamate or Chaturbate? I think if I had to do it all again - I would start by offering Indy shows first, then move onto the big streaming sites.
MFC is notoriously difficult if you are just starting out. I wouldn't recommend it for a total newbie because of the camscore etc. Chaturbate has no camscore but it more nudity based I've always found.
I started out as a newbie on Streamate. I didn't know what I was doing. I watched a few girls on there and just started off by offering vanilla shows. Then I moved over to Indy and it all changed for me. I really branched out and learnt a lot from customers and their fetishes. I now offer different types of shows (vanilla, domme and Hypno) but most of the time, I don't get naked. There is a big market for tease stuff and fetish/domme stuff if you want to go down that route.
Might be an idea to start off doing one to one Skype/Discord shows first - then branching out. You'll soon learns what's right for you though. These forums have been amazing though - so do tons of reading and research and you'll be good to go. Good Luck!

Stay online and also research (on this forum there are some tips on the dom thing if u search). I learnt by staying online & from every experience with members ( i was a googlemachine lol).

Thanks for your very pleasant comment. I logged off because I didn't want to waste my or other people's time when I realized there were some things I still needed to figure out. I know plenty about being a dom despite being fairly new to it because I've been involved in the kink community for a while but camming is a different beast and I just don't understand what I'm supposed to be doing at times, particularly in the beginning of my "show" / low attendee moments, or when guys are messaging me saying they'll serve me but they're just typing so how the fuck am I supposed to police them to know they're obeying me? (and maybe the answer is I'm not supposed to police it and it's just a more lax dom situation but I literally couldn't find an article that addressed this specific question). And while I definitely love your snooty attitude, particularly on an online forum in which you are not obliged to read or reply, I've actually spent days upon days researching this and there are lots of good tips in general but the two specific things I listed here I did not find any real advice on and that's why I'm asking here. Maybe I'm using incorrect search terms or something but if you're going to bother replying, maybe be helpful.

It is diffrent to be an online dom to a real one. While you have control in the real life, in the online world they actually have the control (they can leave whenever they want with noexplaining). It is a lot of imagination going on. You can start normally by asking them what are their names, their fetishes , their limits. You can also ask if they have a cam, that would help a lot. And from there you can go with what you know already but try to put it on cam.

So my friend and I were talking and we pondered a question together- We've noticed more and more girls are turning to camming, and because of that, would it even be a thing worth starting up for a girl who is conventionally unattractive (I just put 'not a 10' because that was all that would fit in the title)? But if a chick is just straight-up unattractive by conventional standards, for example bbw but unproportionate and w/ no booty, very obvious and unappealing skin issues, etc etc etc, would camming even get her money if she were to stick to a schedule and everything? And by money, I mean a living and comfortable "wage"?

ok, I am making clips and posting them. I have no idea what is a fair price for a clip though. I'm making 5 minute clips and 10 minute clips. I figure there is a premium for custom clips?

Hi everyone thanks for reading my post. I am new to the industry and I am looking for some advice from people who are successful and more experienced in the business. I've done some research on camming and have watched other performers to study and learn more. I was nervous and i took me a while to get over the fear of doing my first show. After about 2 months of studying and seeing others i finally took action and started streaming. I have streamed about 4 shows for a total of around 8hrs and have not made any income or have had much traffic to my channel. I have a tip menu and schedule as well as some other content for sale on my page. I have tried my best to talk with the customers in my show and keep them engaged but still no tokens. I am feeling discouraged and haven't logged back in for a bout two weeks now. What would you do?

What site are you working? What times do you work? What are your prices? What are you doing when no one is taking to you? What equipment do you have? How fast is your internet?
Maybe we can solve this problem by looking at a few of these things. :) You've researched which is good.

I still consider myself new as well. Been streaming since May though. I think probably the biggest thing I learned from these ladies in this forum is being consistent. Even if you don't make any money that day - log in and try again the next day. Keeping a regular schedule is important especially once you start gaining some guys who expect to see you at certain times.
Also, reading up in here on "customer types" and learning how to start gauging whether or not they are going to spend on you. That way you aren't wasting energy and wearing yourself out.
What site are you on?

When first starting out it can be hard. I'd suggest streaming more. 8 hrs isn't really much when you're streaming. I understand it can get discouraging and it'll feel like no one likes you...but the longer you're on the more exposure you'll get.
I'd suggest smiling and talking to potentials like they are friends. The friendlier you are, the more money you'll make. But believe...the more you're on the more you'll make.

I paid a model for her time. She said cam like this a BUSINESS and you’ll make money. 40 hours, same schedule, one you build your clients you can relax, but you have to hustle hard. Unless your in school, doing some self-care, or taking care of your kiddos you should be on cam every chance you get.

I would keep logging on. What works for each girl is so individualized that you’ll basically be re-inventing the wheel until you find out what works. Every bad day on cam (as a new girl) teaches you what does and doesn’t work, and the faster you get that information out of the way the better. So log on. And keep logging on.

I am on chaturbate, I have not tried other sites is there one you would recommend I have learned that some girls are spit caming as they call it i am still unsure how that works are there rules against that when you sign up with certain sites? When nobody is in the room or talking to me sometimes idk what to do sometimes i dance around, just show my body or tease the camera with a toy. Other times I just sit there when nothing seems to be working and I start to run out of ideas. I think my prices are ok I sort of just copied what I've seen other girls have on there menu.i have a logitech HD cam with a microphone build in and my internet speed is pretty good.

You might be doing too much sexually for free if you are showing off or doing toy teases without being tipped. I recommend talking as if someone is there at all times on token sites. Talk about everything under the sun, your fave holiday, movies, books, tv and sports. Don't talk too sexually without a tip.
If you like token sites you can try stripchat or myfreecams. If you'd rather try something where you do less in free chat you can try streamate, cams.com or imlive.

Heyy girls, i am still new to camming an having a hard time learning what to do on down time. when nobody is chatting whats a good way to get the audience more engaged i have this habit of just sitting in my chair and moving form side to side or spinning around when ever i dont know what to do and i get that awkward uncomfortable feeling, I try and think of things to talk about but nothing really seems to stick.sometimes i feel like i am just sitting there staring at the camera and a few times i just stopped streaming because i felt silly. people are entering my room and leaving after a few seconds and i am sure it is because there is not a whole lot going on, i feel like it would also be boring for viewers if i just keep doing the same thing. any thoughts?

I'm on SM and there's always ins and outs. I used to sit and smile then say hi to everyone who entered. Now I just lay down and smile then post my services for everyone that enters.
If you're on SM that's normal. I'd open another tab and read interesting articles. Or if you can watch something on YouTube with subtitles it'll help.
You can continue to do what you've tried too. Talking about anything and everything like someone is talking to you.

I went on tumblr a while back and saved those lists of questions that people love to answer. Searching "questions to ask" gives me a ton of results too. I literally just go down the list and say each question out loud so that it looks like someone asked it to me, then I answer it. Then people start talking and I answer their questions and/or be interested in their answers to the questions. If tips aren't coming in (you said you were on Chaturbate before right?) but I have a talkative room, I teasingly tell them its time for a commercial break and list a few things they can tip for.

The in and outs are totally normal, everyone has them. It's just guys browsing, sometimes tech issues. You won't be everyone's cup of tea and that's something you will get used to.
Split with other sites and then there is always someone to talk to. I've always been a mostly no free chat site model so sitting in silence doesn't bother me anyway. I honestly don't think it makes a difference what you do, if a guy likes your look, your bio, and how you sound then he's going to take you paid. No need to act like a dancing monkey.

I used to be a stripper, and started camming for a few weeks before i stopped due to not having a place to cam privately. I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old. my family helps out with my kids and they have their own rooms., and i have the entire apartment-basement to myself. But i'm still scared of someone walking in even though the door to the basement locks, or forgetting my camera on, or forgetting that i'm on camera. ( which has sorta happened when i was new and work was slow). Idk what to do if there is an interuption, like my parents text me that one of my kids woke up and needs me ect. i was thinking of a method to quickly hide everything easily and easy cover up but with lube and squirting it can be messy. also after a busy ass day i struggle to " get ready" for work. i have to have a clean area to cam, i don't have a sheet/backdrop yet, cant find anyway to quickly store a backdrop i used to do makeup photography and i had a backdrop and lighting but they were not quick to set up and take down. i wouldnt have to rush to take it down but it would be such a pain in the ass to transform it back and forth each time. and sometimes my face looks like shit and i don't wanna show my face, i get lonely waiting for customers, like i wish i had co workers! and after its all said and done im just too tired and end up falling asleep. advice on any of these please? also i wanna be able to switch windows and be on my computer at the same time, ( i use CB).

I have all the mod cons yet i go back over and over to using a huge cardboard box! Seriously I've got agent provocateur lingerie, louboutins, my Hitachi magic wand, all my various 'cam' lingerie and outfits in there. Occasionally i sort them all out, put them on hangers and shelves in my cam room, but then after a busy shift, or when I've had to pack away as someone is coming over, all back into the damn box lol! When people come round i cover it with a big blanket and put a plant on it! For the backdrop you can put one of those roller holders on the ceiling with a roll of paper in it that pulls down and rolls back up, or use a screen divider.
In terms of makeup and getting ready, have a couple of eady slip on/off dresses, and a tinted lip gloss and you're good to go. Many girls work the just woke up like this look successfully, don't feel you need to be all dolled up to make money. If you don't want to show your face, don't. I'd definitely recommend eyelash extensions and hd brows, they'll make you always look good despite no makeup x

I'm petit and built more like my indonesian side. But I'm also part black about 20% black and it shows. Where people think I have a large butt and want to tip me to show my butt but when I do they leave the room. They want me to twerk and I can't. And I have tried to play up my asian side but this can cause problems too because if I tag as black and asian I get people who are looking for black girls with large butts in my room and then they quickly leave when they find out I'm not that girl advice?

Don't cater to the guys who want something that you don't have. Play up whatever aspect of your body / personality you personally love, and show it off through your room topic, profile photo, teasing in freechat, etc.
Just ignore the guys who want a bootylicious backside, because if they're too ignorant to understand that you're selling a different fantasy, then too bad for them if they're disappointed after tipping! Focus on the customers who enjoy you, and enjoy your body, small booty and all :)

I'm also getting a lot of guys who just always want to talk. How do I turn this into money? I searched this topic btw I couldn't see anyone asked this before. So I just want to know how much did you start making originally full time?

You can use Google to search Stripperweb. For example type in (Stripperweb + Camming + how much do you make) then you will see a list of threads where this has been discussed. You can even read this thread and several from the stickies to get a better idea on how to enhance your Hustle. Take a look at

have you tried sea sponges? or cups? if neither work for you and you can't do tampons for whatever reason, you're just going to have to do fetish shows and topless shows more than likely. alternatively you could make clips too. tons of things to do on your period even if you aren't camming

Your last question was answered. It's right above the one you just wrote.
As for how to deal with guys wanting to date, you tell them no. There's no need to even mention POF. When you do that this will give them more fuel to keep pushing. Make sure you keep that separate. Be assertive when you say you're not interested or you could just ignore the question and quietly ban them from your room. There's lots of ways to handle this. You'll just have to figure out which works best for you.

I usually just act shocked. "Date? I don't even know you! Let's at least go get to know each other first! ;)" or I go "I'm not looking to date, I just want to get naked! Let's go play!" or if I've lost patience I just say "Oh thats not allowed here!" and block.
